"Oh, alright. You scared me for a second there- I thought you were saying they did something to the person living above you. ...And I don't know, a few people may prefer living in a darkroom than those duplexes. They're awfully drab," Em said flatly.

Emelyn raised an eyebrow. "I don't entirely follow. ...I think my mind is fried tonight. ...No more what?"

She sighed. "I think this is just the beginning of the onslaught of people. ...Although there may be a bit of a pause after all this. There have been an awful lot arriving recently. I think you stumbled upon here in a bit of an unlucky time- there are so many new people now..." She paused in mid-sentence, not knowing what else to say as she tipped her head back to look up at the stars once more. It was a handful of moments before she retrieved the silence with a low, almost whispered sentence.

"Moreau thinks I'm on his side. ...He asked me to participate willingly in the treatments after I was trapped here, and I said yes. ...It turned out he was lying to me, and the treatments weren't as noble as I thought they were. But he does trust me. Maybe we could use that to our advantage, find some way to overcome him."

All of this, coming from the mouth of the levelheaded, 'reality check'- the same lips that had told The Dude to accept what had been dealt, to live his life as best possible under the circumstances of the changes of him and Greer. ...She had been the one to bring Amrbose to deciding to live his life here, rather than pine constantly for the one he'd left behind. She had always believed that life was essentially fair, no matter what had happened, and that if you can't cope, and accept the inevitable, you'll be living in a dead world. ...But now, she found herself egging for the possible, striving for a possibility of that dead world. She didn't know it, but that thing inside that had died the night Ambrose came to her and told her that everything they were was torn asunder... was her acceptance. She could no longer accept that this was her life- she reached out for one last hope, one last possibility that her life may be worth living. And she found herself reaching... to a stranger, not even realizing the gravity of this last, final plea for hope.

"Really? Is that how you stumbled here? Because you managed to hear about the area?" Em was incredulous, but also hopeful. "...Maybe that's how we should do it. We should find a way to get a message out. Show the world what this place is."

"We could get one person out- with a message. It'd be easier to have one person escape than thirty."

Em nodded, feeling instantly validated that they were actually discussing it. "Indeed. It's got to be a perfect attempt- because I'm sure we can only do it once.... I'm glad we're thinking about it, though." She said, softly again, as if to hide the words from the world.

Em blanched at the word cancer, but knew that her pale visage wouldn't be visible through the moonlight. Joliette didn't know her past, and how awful a statement like that would seem to her... so she just nodded and scooted back against the rock.

"Thanks- I will do. ...Sorry to interrupt your photo shoot. But it was great talking to you. I think we should both... think about it. ...Goodnight, Joliette."
