I play French horn. Trumpet was to hard for me to hold so screw that *I love all the saxs and brass* I wish I could have played sax but the reeds just weren't for me. Nope.
If you ask me, the horns, yes I even sux thumbs, is the hardest. We are the suckiest group. I am the only horn that actually can get the right pitch everytime, if I bother to not faint from embarrassment the second before. I wanted to play trumbone but I couldn't get my mouth to buzz. Waa.

I've never been able to get a sound out of a flute, personally. It pisses me off. xd
But that's ok, I wouldnt want to play flute anyway. There's no guys in that section and girls drive me nuts. sweatdrop *strokes her trumpet lovingly*

[ ] Oboe and French horn are the hardest. I play the French horn and it wasn't an easy instrument to adjust to. I'm still adjusting, but I've only been playing for less than two years. [ ]

I think it really depends on who you are, some people are potentially better at instruments. The hardest one for me to play is the trumpet ^_^

The Oboe and Bassoon are proven to be 2 of the world's hardest instruments to play.

I would have to say it would be the bassoon. I play the bassoon, and have played it for over 7 years...... I would like to see any person play 16th notes at a 140 tempo while going up and down a D flat scale....... Oh, sure... it is easy on any other instrument, but try it on a bassoon. eek
This is where the years and years of practice come in!

I think bagpipes are the hardest. I've been working on that for two years now. xD But, out of band instruments, I would guess oboe. But, they're so pretty when played well!

well, a lot of people say that the french horn is hard to play. it's not that easy, but i'm doing pretty good on it after only 10months. anyways, the instrument that i can't even make a sound other than air out of is the flute! i mean, brass isn't too hard, regular reeded instruments aren't hard (i've never tried double reed) but i seriously can't make a sound outta the darn flute! i made a note once, and that was on accident! haha

I think I agree with the F. Horn and Oboe.
(but as far as marching goes I'd say drums.)
