Concert Band: Girls- We have to wear an Amish looking outfit, it's basically a black shirt with a square collar and puffy sleeves, and a long black skirt with a slit to halfway up our thigh.... With black hosery and black shoes... 'tis gross. Guys- Black Tuxedo's with Black Ties and Cummerbunds.
Jazz Band: Black slacks or skirts with black shoes and socks and our snazzy Jazz shirts. They are uber comfy, especially if you get them two sizes too big! xd
I <3 our Jazz outfits compared to our Concert uniforms.

Guys wear tuxes, girls just have to wear all black. Skirt, dress, pants, short sleeves, long sleeves: it doesn't matter.

The general criteria is concert black.
However, since all of our concerts are combined, I usually have to wear my show choir outfit, which is black pants, a white shirt, a black tie, and a royal blue vest that stands out like a b***h on the videotapes.
Since I'm a percussionist, though, nobody cares in the slightest.

The girls in my band have the most hideously ugly black dresses. They have poofy short sleeves, and I think they're made out of polyester. They're seriously bloodproof. It's a proven fact.
The guys have to wear dark green dinner jackets, which are all right, but they make our band look stupid compared to all the other bands in the district, who have tuxes.

All girls and boys have to wear a tux, then we have to wear a red bow tie. Only soloist can wear anything they want, as long as it's formal.

The Wind Ensembles wears black on black, and Concert Band wears white shirts on black.
But I'm also in the city symphony (the kind with a lot of awesome elderly people) and for the christmas concert, they have the guys wear a red bowtie and ladies wear a red scarf, and us percussionists were like 'we can't wear those around our necks, they'll get in the way' (i personally didn't mind, i wear difficult clothes all the time and i'm used to it) so we rebelled by wearing them our own way, like our section leader tied it around her torso like a toga-thing, my friend tied it around her waist like a belt, our timpani player tied it in a bow in her hair and i wore mine as a headband, and i looked like, as i was told, a pirate or a gypsie.
yea, long story short, go nonconformity!

[sigh] I'll try to get photos next concert. In my school, band is separated into two parts, junior and senior band. The uniform is black, long-sleeved collared shirt with black pants and black shoes. Junior band has to wear a tacky yellow tie. Senior band gets purple ties that look pretty good.
... I guess we're just the noobs, so therefore we have to wear tacky stuff? =P

Haha. For my orchestra, girls have to wear black dress pants or a skirt that goes down to your ankle. Shirts have to be black with 3/4 length sleeves and a conservative neckline. Shoes must be closed-toe, with black nylons (Or not, if you're smart like me and got black boots that go up to your knees.) Guys have to wear tuxes, no vest, with a bow tie. Dress shoes are a MUST. If it doesn't follow the criteria, you get kicked out of the concert, and sent home with a zero, which brings your orchestra grade down to a C if you have an A. My violist bf looks really cute in his tux. I dropped my bow when he came in the room wearing it. Nearly dropped the cello, too, lol.. I'll get pictures after our next concert/picture day. (Concert is in march, Picture day is the 16th, the same day as my geometry final >.<)
