Zinnia looked on as poor Pond repeatedly got pelted by water. Noticing the little waves she gazed toward what would be the cause of them and spotted Chaos bouncing about. In her politest tone, she asked, "Um, Chaos? It would help Pond get into the pond if you'd stop making waves..."

Chaos stopped bouncing immediately, in fact, stopped moving entirely. Her front paws froze as if she were about to dive into the water again and her back paws froze in leaping off the bottom of the pond, her tail was the only thing that moved, and that was only until the water around her settled.
Peeking at the calming waters from under his bush, Pond crept down to the water's edge yet again. When he realized he wouldn't receive any little splashes he tentatively stepped into the shallows. Squeaking in surprise at how warm the water was he looked up at Zinnia for direction on what to do next.

Now that the water had calmed down Zinnia watched as Pond carefully wandered into the shallow water. He looked up at her, as if asking what he should do next. "Now you have to try to swim. You move your arms like this..." she indicated what he should do with her forelegs out of the water to show him how it would look, "and kick your backlegs." She couldn't exactly give a demostration of this without causing waves, so she left it up to him to know what she was talking about.

Chaos stayed frozen so as not to disturb the lesson.
Pond nodded uncertainly and paddled his front paws at the water, then, confused when Zinnia didn't demonstrate what she meant by kick he tried to move his back paws in the same fashion, falling over and looking like he was fighting with an imaginary crocodile until he stopped flailing about and sat dripping and looking up confusedly at Zinnia.
Chaos was having trouble trying not to laugh and fall over.

Zinnia stiffled her laughter and decided that maybe he could learn from a lecture. "Kicking means that you keep your legs behind you while you move them quickly up in down. Oh, and you should try to alternate, which means that you should move one leg up as you move the other leg down. It's easier that way." She paused, seeing what he would do with that information.

Pondering the information for a moment, Pond sat down in the water and kicked his legs as she said. He squeaked in surprise at the wall of water that rose up everytime he kicked a paw down, quickly turning over to run away while forgetting he was in water he fell face first with a splash, instinctively paddling his arms as Zinnia had instructed him to do earlier. Slowly opening one tightly shut eye after the other, he looked down and squeaked happily to find himself paddling in circles in the shallows.
Chaos could hold it no longer and fell over, luckily her laughter was muffled by the water that closed over her head as she landed. Coming back to the surface, she applauded, as well as she could with wet paws, his progress. "Well done!" she called.

Zinnia smiled as he got it finally. "Great job Pond." She joined in the applause when Chaos began to clap for further congratulations. While clapping it crossed her mind that in one Spanish-speaking country clapping was a negative thing that meant you strongly disliked the performace. Oh, the random thoughts that accumulate in ones mind. "Would you like to stay in the shallows or try to swim out in the deeper water?"

Pond stared at the darker water spreading from the center of the pond and almost forgot to keep swimming, paddling frantically closer to the shore when he started to sink.
"I'll take that as a no..." Chaos said, swimming closer and peering at Pond. She had to stand and walk toward him as the shallows that Pond were currently pressing into were too shallow for her to swim in, "It's not that bad, you just have to get used to it." Sitting down, Chaos shook the water form her fur and stretched, her stomache growling loudly. "Is it time for lunch yet, do you think?" she asked Zinnia.

Zinnia thought over it for a moment. She was a tad hungry, that was for sure, but she was wondering what there was to eat. Fish? No, she wasn't in the mood for that right now (though it would be most convenient). Berries? Nah, not in the mood for that either. "What would you like to eat, Chaos?" She fished, not knowing what it is she wanted to eat.

"Well, fish would probably be the easiest thing to find, but I have fish a lot..." she pondered on it a bit before venturing, "Maybe we can bother Treasure for some seafood? She can catch clams and she has seaweed, though I've never really tried that before... I think she called it salt? Everything that comes from the sea is salty, Treasure smells a lot like it, too..."
Pond blinked slowly as he watched Chaos ramble on, turning to look questioningly at Zinnia when Chaos finished as if to ask, Did you understand that?

Zinnia pondered for a moment. She never had clams before, so she wasn't sure whether she ought to try them. What if she didn't like them? Then again, what if she did like them? As for the seaweed...wasn't that the stuff that keeps the rice and other stuff together in sushi? Well, Zinnia figured that some seafood might be good for a change. She never had any before. "Do you think she'd mind?"

"She wont," Chaos said, "She's only jittery around strangers, and we aren't strangers, so she'd be happy to show us how to dig for clams and stuff and even how to cook it ourselves." Chaos looked sideways at Zinnia, "I can't remember, have you met Treasure before?"
Pond sat down where he was, waiting until they had come to a decision on what and where they were going to eat.

Zinnia shook her head. "I don't think I've personally met her to be honest. I know that Lexis has, but not myself." She hoped that Treasure wouldn't consider her a stranger since she was friends with Chaos. Well, if she was a stranger then it's pretty easy to rectify that.

"Okie," Chaos said, "I only have two warnings for you: 1. Don't touch her sandals, and 2. Don't say anything bad about the sea." She started to head in the direction of the sea, actually knowing the way without having to find it by accident or searching. "Unlike my house, Treasure's stays still for me," she said with a laugh.
Pond just shrugged his little shoulders and followed after Chaos, squeaking in delight about going to find food.

Zinnia nodded, taking the suggestions to heart. Not that she could ever see herself doing either of those things. She loved the sea, and could care less about touching another person's footwear. "Mobile homes don't sound fun. Your house might be mean and leave you out in the rain on a cold day."
