But on the bright side, you can take abilities off of people and put them on different people (Suddenly Astrid doesn't keep Paragon all to herself). And a lot of people get their "Occult" skill upon reaching their final promotion without it taking up 20 skill points.

Yeah, it's priceless. Although there is still a reason not to take them off from people you're going to use to begin with, because it doesn't take up ANY space on the "skill meter" whoever it starts with, but once you take if off them, it WILL take space up, even if you put it back on the same person.

Yeah, but can you imagine any unit with both Paragon and Blossom on them at the same time? Automatic win!
Did you play FE10 first, and now you're coming back into FE9?

Astrid and Geoffrey are the only two units capable of having both Blossom and Paragon on at the same time (since their Paragon's don't take up space, and no one starts with Blossom). Unforetunately, neither of them are around for very many chapters so it's kinda unefficient unless you put a LOT of effort into it at the cost of other units or boss abuse (it's like the producers knew it would be too awesome). Yeah, FE10 is kinda choppy about when you can use people.
Yes, I played FE10 first (and going back to the characters' roots is definitely giving me an intersting perspective on many of them). And it's weird because a lot of classes got super boosted or nerfed between the two games so some of my favorite characters are great in one and suck in the other (like Astrid is great in FE9 but sucky in 10, while Shinon is sucky in 9 but great in 10, Godly almost). *never had a Gamecube*

I hated Astrid in both! That's one of the things I didn't like about 10 however. You never see a unit for too long a time.

From what you two have said, it sounds like FE10 was pretty good, though.
And like I said in FE Debates, I like Kieran and Oscar for my cavaliers. They make for some pretty cool supports, both between each other and among other people. I wouldn't mind trying for Gatrie/Astrid and Makalov (just to see what he can do) sometime, though.

I found Makalov to be one of the better paladins in 10. Geoffrey was the best, followed by Oscar and Titania.

In FE9, Kieran/Oscar/Marcia/Tanith made a great mobile support group for me. In 10, Titania was great, and an Oscar/Ike support makes them both virtually invincible with that +45 avoid. I probably prefer them just because they're available for a longer time.

The Sacred Stones! I haven't played 1-5 and am only a little way through 6. I love the characters in eight, Lute, Seth, Franz, Artur, Ephraim, Gerik, Neimi, etc. Though the tower can get tedious, you can train even the hardest to level units, this got me experimenting with different unit types. The supports are also great.
2nd. 10 (Ranulf) 3rd. 7 (game play) 4th. 6 (of what I've played it was challenging) 5th. 9 (easy)

Fire Emblem 6 (where this character is from) and 7 are my favorites. I simply love both casts of characters (as well as all the returning ones in FE 6) and storylines.
I only wish that certain ones would have lasted long enough to join me... *sniff*
O_O BTW, how did Merlinus go from "Zomg, help me Eliwood!" to "Zomg, Roy, you're stupid?"
Pretty much nobody else has changed outside of appearance.
Ahem, the other reason I like FE 6 & 7 is that they both provide a decent challenge, and FE 6 is the first game with support conversations. smile It's always fun to pair off different characters.. these two games in the series are a pairing shipper's dream!

I would say FE8 I really enjoyed. Joshua was soo hot seriously that alone made me buy the game. Then I couldn't stop playing it.

Sorry to say this, but you're only half right about the support conversations. In four, there was a system where you HAD to create marriages between the best characters in the first half to get the best units in the second half, otherwise, you were given some very bad default units instead. I haven't played it yet because of the language barrier, but I really want to. It sounds like a lot of fun.
