And like 1,000 guys isn't a lot of people? Not as much as Command and Conquer and Total War, but it's still a lot of guys.

even I'll agree with that 1,000 guys is alot but can we elaborate please are we mearly reffering to infantry tanks or both.

plus lets take into acount in tiberium wars the unit meter filled up based on how big and powerful the unit was. That being said how many troops on a troop meter do u think a Scarab is worth and how many do u think can be deployed at once. surely they must have some balance u cant just mow over the other team with an endless army of Scarabs. as cool as that would be for covenant lackies Im sure the UNSC fans and supporters would be pissed!!

Basic solder=500 troops
Rocket launcher/Sniper=200 troops.
Warthog=100
Flying vehicles=70
Tanks=30

You can have 12 of these units in total. Tell me if this is not fair.

ur straying from the point. The point is that without limits whos to prevent them from Scarab Spaming then steamrollering similar to what Nods Avatars will do in Tiberium Wars. wheres the balance unlike GDI who has the juagernaught what does the Unsc have in halo wars to match the Sdarab. thats the point I'm trying to make

Seeing as how no factory-made computer in existence can even handle 1000 units on Supreme Commander if the resolution is at all decent, yeah I'd say 1000 units is alot.

The UNSC has the MAC gun. Quoting what Sgt. Johnson said in the beginning of Halo 2, "one hit from the can cut clean through a Covenant flagship". Since flagships are considerably bigger than Scarabs, I'm sure a MAC gun could take out a Scarab. Maybe the MAC gun would work similar to the GDI's Ion Cannon in Tiberium Wars.

Scarab=5 units
So if you fill all 12 slots you can have 60 scarabs.

But these 60 scarabs will have to go against:
Tanks=360
Flying vehicles=840
Warthog=1200
Rocket launcher/Sniper=2400 troops
Basic solder=6000 troops

you are forgeting how destructive they are for most of the units they would merely have to step on them and most likely they would because by the time u down the scarabs in front the ones behind them will probably be in squiashing range.

the Mac gun would be the solution but from what ur suggesting it wouldn't be the greatest help against fifty if its like the ion cannon that means its a special weapon which can only be fired once every 6 minutes or so and if they are spread out that would only decimate a fraction of their force

some other thoughts are would be they need to come up with some weapons to rival Covenant ground artilery and anti air batteries and I mean the implacements not the wraith versions those pac quite a wallop and we would need to pound the crap out of them before they disadvantaged us the if the Macs are like ion cannons they only serve limited help what would we use to take these plateforms out in fast order

Z-O-M-B-I-C-I-D-E! SPELL MY NAME RIGHT! And according to what I've seen, you can only have 1 Scarab on the field at a time, similar to the Scrin Mothership in Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

alright well that works now heres a new question to throw out.

Will the pelicans be able to set up forward positions like the phantoms do in halo or will they merely be for troop transportation

I think they can directly attack enemies. But, what I do know is that Longsword assault fighters/bombers will be able to perform airstrikes and directly engage in combat.

Cool

well at least between this and Kanes Wrath 2008 should be a pretty promising year for RTS games

I can't wait until Kane's Wrath comes out! It adds new Scrin units. I can't wait to see how the Mechapede turns out.....but it's also supposed to add new Nod and GDI units, including the return of CABAL.

yeah and it will introduce internal factional combat in skirmish mode where all three factions of the saem type will face off but it is nice to see they are getting things back in order they left to much story hanging last time I want to see all the dots connected at long last and I hear that the new control scheme for the 360 will make things easier and faster to build in battlefield pinches

Scarabs are not that hard to destroy. You had to fight 2 at one time in halo 3. If you send 1000 Solders, and a few tanks at each one, they could board one and blow it up.
