I personally really love them. Even if a lot of them would never happen, it's fun to read about it. I love the artwork too. heart

I'm not really a slash kind of person.
You know, I was raised in a very liberal community where that kind of stuff is perfectly fine, so I'm open to it and do I read it occasionally, but I think that it's not necessarily the kind of things I enjoy.
But still, it's possible to write a really good slash story...and have come across like ONE good one EVER.

I come across good ones all the time, mostly due to the fact I have no age restrictions on what I can read. It helps if you are able to read about the pg 13. They tend to get much less fluffy, i've noticed. Now don't get me wrong I do like fluff, but I tend to like the much more mature stories as well.

I like slash and I believe it's possible for any plot to be good if written well, but what I'm tired of in the slash-fiction is all the rather perverted, erotic ones. It only takes the couple one chapter before they're making out/going to bed together. confused
I'm not saying all fanfiction is like this, of course! If I believed so I wouldn't be reading slash. wink However, I usually look for slash fiction where the author prefers to write about the feelings rather than sex.
I hope I'm not offending anyone; that is not my intentions. sad

I agree. I tend to like the relationship to mature before the couple has sex. I mean it is good that they are having a physcial relationship, but an emotional one is just as good if not better in some cases. I really do agree with what you are saying, and I understand.

I agree with that as well! I mean, very rarely I'll be happy just to read some smut, but really, I like the 20 chapter buildup that focuses on emotions much better.

Wow...people are actually agreeing with me; that's rare! lol
In all honesty, I like all types of slash; be it straight or gay. wink Though if the couple is too weird for me, I probably won't read it. Such as Draco/Lucifer. confused

I will admit I am pretty suck in my ways, with the slash I read I tend to stay with the Harry/Draco, if other pairs make an appearence in it, that is fine but I mostly just like my one couple. The others are good as well of course, but I am not into them quite as much.

I hate slash. I mean, if it's really good and doesn't do with much lovey dovey stuff I'll put up with it, but I personally believe all of the characters to be strait. I remember before the 7th book came out I was arguing about that in the Puzzles thing with someone. I only argue with book facts since J.K. Rowling actually wrote those, so those are my bible. Sure the movies have a lot of the same stuff, but it also changes some of it, so I stick to the books. So yeah, I am strongly against Slash pairings, and if you even try to tell me that the characters are slash, I'll battle you to the end. I don't know how big of fanatics you guys are here, but I have always been able to win debates against the people that are willing to debate Harry Potter with me.

I have read my fair share of Harry/Draco slahes, but I am not a big fan of it. I don't really like the lovey dover stuff like LilyEvans said, but I do love my Luna fics. I could read Luna/Neville things all day because in my mind, they should have always end up together...

Well you do realize that almost every slashers dream came true with the Grindywald/Dumbledore pairing made cannon, correct? I mean it's not that big of a leap to think of what happened after the epilogue, who knows maybe they do find deep rooted feelings for a character you did not think they would end up with at first. I myself did not read fictions for years because I didn't think anyone could do it quite as well as the author could, and boy have I been proven wrong time and time again. I have read some amazing slash that has in effect ended the series and made me quite happy, since I like to believe that the last book never happened. Anyways I am always up for a debate, the friendly type though. I do enjoy heated ones as well, as long as you are open minded, because you can not get anywhere with someone who is close minded. :]

March is absolutly right. It's hard to debate with people that don't care. I listen, and have fun just telling my theories. It's when people call me cold hearted that I have a problem. Like I believed one of the Weasley Twins had to die because NOTHING had happened to them, and the Weasley's were such a big family that was so close to Harry that they needed a death. Please don't call me cold hearted for that. I am sick of being called cold hearted just because I state what I believe. I was also called a lunatic when I said that Snape was good, and that Dumbledore told him to kill him. I was wrong about how and when Dumbledore told Snape to kill him, but I was right about it generally. Much to say I loved both victories. And March, it is fun to pretend the last book didn't happen. I myself have a Harry Potter Role Play guild. It's after Harry Potter, but Voldemort has returned. So I don't put much store in my plans by what the last book says. And I actually started hating slash because I didn't know what it was. Then I read one, and it was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too informative. After that, they just never got along with me. I have nothing against homo's, so don't get me wrong. My sister is a Homo, but when you have the experience with Slash I had, you learn that it is not necisarrily your friend. Sorry to any of you that I may have offended. I don't mean to offend anyone. Really I don't.

This may be due to English not being my first language, but isn't the term 'homo' offensive against homosexuals? Not trying to be cruel, I'm just curious. confused

I got the cold shoulder myself when I was telling people about Snape...No one believed me. D; I also understand about reading a fiction that is a bit too explicit. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I have seen many others who have ran into them and they have turned others away from slash forever, unfortunately. I know you didn't offend me, I just like a good debate every now and again. :]
