Ruby St.Claire Das Steube Sean nodded, cautiously looking about the room for any holdouts, hand gripped loosely on his blade. Pendari paused in her tracks, glancing back at Sean. "I hear voices, how odd." Her silver-lilac eyes flashed, a white grin spreading along her face. "Sean, guard the hallway, I have one more to take care of down here. We'll start somewhere else tomorrow." She pushed her feet on the ground for a moment, and pushed herself forward in a slow float, the gravity altering, so she moved through the hallway without the sound of a single footstep. Sean remained silent and still, katana still at the ready as she floated off to do whatever it is that Pendari did. After she was out of sight and sound for a few seconds, he quietly followed her, his years of training in how to sneak about ((And it was when he was a kid, pilfering cookies in a house with particularly creaky floor boards, not some lame ninja rape-you-in-the-spincter training.)) playing into his favor.

((Lol to the spintcer/sphincter, whatever that is. Call the vent 15, 20 feet off the floor? I'm assuming the ceiling height is higher and lower than that depending where you are in the engine area, but A.C. couldn't manage a much bigger drop than that too easily, street kid or no. ED, A.C. and Jarred are in different areas now... I think the spider is going to have to pick one. XD))
A.C. continued to move deeper into the equipment and shadows, a silent flash of color only if you were looking in the right direction, but she was around a corner from Jarred and moving away from the main entrance as well--just in case he had friends. She was fairly sure there hadn't been time to set an ambush deeper in, not when they couldn't know ahead of time that she would be here. If that many people had slipped in over the past couple hours, she would have known.
Besides, she thought, holding back a cough from the lingering gas, no one comes here. No one knows this place like I do--they would have to have 50 of those big guys to cover it half as well. Right? @#^%, I'm gonna be sick again...
Puking didn't bother A.C. usually, so long as it was quiet and not in front of her whole gang (unless it was supposed to be), but she was afraid the noise and the need to stop for it would allow them to find her. She puked all the time from various illnesses, poisons, and bad food back home, so she had never noticed the gas...

((Ah, then the spider is watching Jarred.))
Pendari floated not too far from AC, it was closer to the equipment, and for a moment she thought she saw a flash of color, but she ignored it. Instead Pendari approached a man leaning against one of the power generators. Pendari gave him a soft greeting, he turned around to face her a look of obvious surprise on his face, before his body was tossed back against the wall and a shot was fired into his head.

"s**t." Jarred muttered to himself. "Who was supposed to be killing her? Betrayer or something?" He grumbled as he pulled himself back up into the vent, waiting for the headrush to pass. He lowered himself down the opening, holding on with his hands. He began to swing his body back and forth, gaining the momentum to land on a large stack of boxes, minimizing the fall, and let himself down from there. He quickly pulled out his gun, and moved towards the sound of the shot.
((there cameras down here?))

((*at which point laughter and confusion erupt simultaneously, due to the randomness of Pendari's action and the fact that there was a strong attempt to imply that A.C. was nowhere near Pendari, the exits, the spider, or anyone whatsoever excepting any unaccounted-for persons hiding deep within the engine area... which is nearly the size of the whole rest of the ship, excluding bridge and crew quarters, according to the schematic* xd ))
A.C. continued to move deeper into the engine's workings, hoping not to get lethally close to any unstable radioactive stuff by accident, or to brush into someone still hiding in here since the raid.

((I thought she was trying to get away from Jarred, not Pen, but ah well. And yes, there are cameras down here.))
Pen rolled the body over and stripped it of wallet and anything that could possibly identify the man. She slipped them into a pouch strapped to her side, already gathering a collection.

((What's the cause of the toxin in the air?))
Jarred ducked behind a grouping of stuff made for concealing people, checking his pda. He got a rough idea of where the girl was, moving towards her. He saw the person who was shot, and while he could only see part of the murderer, neither seemed to have rainbow hair. He started onto A.C.s position.

((It's the residue gas that killed off the crew in the engine room, the bodies are probably still around in the area. It shouldn't bee too big a deal so long as no one's feeling overly sick.))
A spider squiggled into the body on the floor, and in a moment blood and ooze leaked from the crevices of the corpse's head. "Pity," Pendari said quietly. The orb next to her beeped quietly. "Keep watch for whatever else is down here, use the spiders as your eyes. They should have scouted out the area well enough by now."

((Aye, I realize it wasn't clear. whee Sorry.))
A.C. opened a hatch quietly and got a strong wift of the gas, dizzying her and making her cough--not a quiet, but it was pretty loud down back here to begin with. Lightheaded and starting to get tunnel vision, she clambered into the crawlspace and moved as fast as she could away from there.
Dazed from the extra-strong exposure this time, A.C. forgot to seal the hatch behind her or move as silently as she had been.

(( xd no worries, I'm too spacey to even catch an obvious clue these days.))
Pendari took a position in the middle of the engine room, sending a signal to Sean to join her. She waited with the orb, to see if the various spiders would pick up anything unusual. She had limited time, very limited time, and the stress of it was evident in the thin line of her mouth, and the slight ticking in the corner of her lip every minute or so. Her plan was special, newly drawn, and very fragile. Something could tear it apart with the touch of a feather, and she didn't want that, none of them wanted that whether they knew it or not.

Jarred continued moving, staying away from where he knew the dead man to be. He found the opened hatch, smelling something foul, but pressed onwards, climbing in after. He proceeded to hurry, not sure how much time there was, and ultimately just getting annoyed with this cat and mouse.

Unfortunately for Jarred, the mouse would probably escape him this time.
A.C. blacked out at the other end of the crawlspace while attempting to open the exit hatch. In the end, she didn't have the strength to do it and hold off the effects of the gas.
Lanita Theiser was seated against the wall opposite the hatch, waiting, and when the girl passed out she got up and opened it herself. She pulled her "little sister" out, lifted her over her shoulder in a fireman's carry, and walked away down a hallway where Pendari's orb had knocked out all the cameras.
"Trust you to be crawling around exactly where I warned you never to go. Last time I trust you to follow orders, that's for sure. Street kid's have honor like the ACO didn't blow up that Forman planet around Beta Nine..."
