Well the official news is that Prowl won't be in it, but we have a year for that to change and that Jazz is going to stay dead for the sequel

Linariel Mighty Megatron Woot, Soundwave may be in there. xD
Around 3 years though...seems so long, but I am sure (hoping) it will be worth the wait. So... What'd they get you for? From what I've been seeing there's a big possibility Soundwave will be in it. He's the one everyones asking for after all. And I don't have the link right now but there was some kind of public poll the people in charge of the movie were a part of put out some time ago and well these were the results I kept them. Wait I do have the link here it is. LINKSoundwave: Winner with 20% of the vote He may not have been in the first live-action Transformers movie, but a parody featuring the tape-deck robot as an out-of-work actor has made him a YouTube star and sentimental favorite. He won the poll, though many aren't sure what new form he could take. Some commenting on USATODAY.com suggested a spy plane, which could dispatch Soundwave's other robotic drones such as the metallic cougar Ravage and the condor Lazerbeak. Comics writer Bob Budiansky, who gave personalities to many of the original 1980s Transformers characters, joked that sequel producers should think smaller: "Nowadays he would turn into something like an MP3 player. Imagine, an evil iPod!" Devastator: 16% of the vote Tied for second place is the evil Devastator, a giant made of bulldozers, dump trucks and other vehicles, which also transform into a team of individual robots. "What makes Devastator stand out from the crowd is that the six Constructicons combine to form him, making him a truly awesome killing machine — even by Decepticon standards," Budiansky says. Grimlock: 16% of the vote This Tyrannosaurus rex-shaped Dinobot, also tied for second, is one of the Transformers' strongest (and strangest) anti-heroes. "In the cartoon show he was portrayed as just dumb, but in the comic he's a bit more of a reluctant good guy and is always butting heads with everybody around him," says current Transformers comic book writer Simon Furman. Jetfire: 11% of the vote Some air cover for the heroic street-vehicle Autobots also garnered strong support, ranking Jetfire third in the poll. In the cartoon, Jetfire was a former Decepticon who sees the errors of his ways, but in the comics the futuristic jet was designed as "an Autobot with no mind of his own, so I could let a human teenager control him," Budiansky says. "A serious case of wish fulfillment if there ever was one." Ultra Magnus : 9% of the voteAlso fourth was Ultra Magnus, a tractor-trailer with similar characteristics to Optimus Prime (his toy mold was basically the same). Introduced in the 1986 animated movie, he has some supporters, but not many. It doesn't help that he was designed to replace some of the most popular characters. "Poor Ultra Magnus — an Optimus Prime wannabe. He could talk the talk, but he couldn't walk the walk," Budiansky says. Shockwave: 9% of the voteTied for fourth place, Shockwave is the Decepticon ruler of their home planet Cybertron and transforms into a giant laser cannon. Budiansky conceived him as a twisted Mr. Spock, "guided by pure logic in its most cruel and calculating form." IDW Publishing editor Chris Ryall, who oversees the current line of Transformers comics, says his featureless face makes him ominous and inscrutable: "He's only got one big eye, which is a cool visual." --------------------------------------- If anyones already seen this well then whatever I'm posting it for those who don't know lol. I really hope Soundwave is in the next movie he's always been my favorite Decepticons. Then out of all the mechs themselves I've always liked Jetfire/Starfire, Bumblebee, and Soundwave. I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?
Ya, I heard that Soundwave was originally going to be in the first one along with Frenzy, but they couldn't do it right or something, so they ended up scrubbing the idea. They are waiting until they can do Soundwave (and his minion(s)) right and efficiently. With fan demand and success of the first one, I am sure they will have Soundwave in this one. I just hope they don't screw him up in looks/personality.
The same goes for Arcee. She was meant to be in the first one, but "there just wasn't enough room to serve the idea properly". So, we may end up seeing a fembot pretty darn soon.
And it seems definite, or rather, there will be much effort on their part to try and feature Dinobots since their appearance would "sell tikets". Because, as we all know, money is a big influence as to how things are done. Thus, we may also see the ever-so-loved Dinobots in action on this next movie.
I also heard that they actually may try doing the true Devastator, but I don't know how well that would work out or if they will go through with it since they screwed the name up in the first one.
Also, they are thinking about doing Blitzwing, probably due to his appearance on the new TF ANimated show. He will be getting more recognition now, so they may put him in the movie.
They have thought about doing Unicron too, but I think we are all too scared as to what they may do to him. Fantastic 4 sure bombed the idea of a planet eater.
So, ya, I'm not sure if people already know all this/heard of all this, but just thought I'd throw that information all out there.

I would like to see more Transformers and less human crap, especially all that army crap. For a movie called "Transformers" there weren't enough Transformers or transforming. Maybe thats just me. I want to see Soundwave too, he is so awesome.

I would agree! Just the transforming Dinos are enough to make the line ups 4 times a long and the movie to be in box office 10 times longer because even the non-fans would want to see transforming Dinosaurs!
I do hope they include Devastator too since they seem to go hand in hand with the Dinobots although it's suppose to be Omega Supreme that's head to head with him.

ok now, i know most of us are hard core transformers fans, but i think we need to remember that we are only a small portion of the viewers. there is also the main streem movie go-er. and they need to make both sides happy. so i think that we shouldent say that the movie stinks because soundwave is not in the movie or the transformers arnt in the movie long enough...

Actually I believe it's the fans that's keeping the movie line ups long and around the block. The movie goers are counted but they aren't the ones making money because it is the fans that go to watch it like 2-3 times and then again for IMAX and buy nearly all their DVD versions. So if Michael Bay actually uses his head, he would try to appeal to the fans both new and old rather than appeal to the public who will go anyway because the fans pump it up.

According to a news report on G4TV, Michael Bay has the next movie all written out and there are no Dinobots. No other confirmations/denials than that though.
No Dinobots make me sad. crying

That IS rather surprising and a bit of a let down. I was actually interested in seeing how they would do it, but I guess they couldn't pull it off. Maybe in T3. haha.
Hmm, I wonder who is confirmed than. Can't wait to find out! Maybe they will actually give Unicron a shot. That would be very cool, especially if they are going to bring Megatron back as Galvatron.
So many possibilities though. Makes me crazy not to know truly yet what shall come.

Light_Yagami_90 i cant wait until transformers 2 comes out and i heard it comes out in june/july of 09 I hear it is due for release on June 26, 2009. Although it can easily change/fluctuate, but it sounds like it will for sure be around that time though like the first one was.
