Kimaji would be even slower to realize that snow was following, and remained involved in the game, each time leaping to a different spot as Corellon did, and slowly getting the hang of making snowballs. However, when Cor paused to notice the snowfall, Kimaji stopped sending snowballs. He was standing still..
Ooh, idea!
Without much warning, the small lioness took a dash while Cor was distracted with the snowfall, then promptly leaping at him, with the intent to tackle her friend, just like any childish cub play. Of course, Kimaji was smaller than Cor, and it wasn't that unlikely he wouldn't even be knocked over, but hey, worth a shot! And she just looked down right not-scary. But hey, flying tackles were fun! "Roar! "
She hadn't not heard what the god said, though, and didn't quite intend to keep the snowball war going on after this, it was just a little bit of revenge, right? No harm!

His attention turned to the landscape and the approaching weather, his thoughts occupied with the choice between searching for a mountain cave or finding shelter within the forest.
"Oof!"
He had not expected the charge, thrown off balance, his paws stumbled to knock him face first into the snow. A snort, his head shaking to clear the snow from his muzzle. Smiling at his young friend, the god rose to his paw, shaking the snow from his hide before it froze there.
"You're better at this game than I thought, I'll have to watch out next time."
But now it was growing cold, it was time to conclude the game and find shelter for the night. Having debated the choice, he decided it was best to return to the forest where they would be sheltered from the wind, where they could rest on warm bedding of plant debris rather than cold stone.
"We'll return to the forest and search for shelter, it'll be warmer there."

It woorked! Okay, now where was that darn pelt? Perhaps flying tackle wasn't so good an idea, even though she had gotten her revenge on the god, her wild dog pelt had managed to fly off. Only now did she realize it was snowing, feeling the little flecks starting to melt slightly against her warmer body. Like rain. So this was what it was like to rain? Well, that couldn't be so bad!
Spotting the pelt a few feet away, slightly covered by a bit of snow, she trotted over and pulled it out, shaking it to free it from the snow, then slinging it over her back and wriggling it back into place. "Okay. But I beat you! " She stuck her tongue out playfully, then trotted back to Corellon's side, soon feeling cold again once she was no longer running around and warming up.
She watched the snowflakes for a moment, before nipping out and grabbing one. They sure did taste like water. "Why does snow taste like water? " She asked suddenly, walking next to the god. "And it turns into water when you bite it. "

A gentle laugh, a small smirk, a last playful bat of a paw.
"Well, that's debatable, I'm not the one who lost my pelt."
The trek back to the forest was easier than it had been up the mountain to the snow. Retreating into the trees again, it was quickly apparent how much warmer it was here, though it was still cold, it was sheltered from the wind and snow, and the soft floor was a comfort to frozen paws. Now he searched again, this time for a shelter to spend the night, bears would have to wait for the morning and the new day's sun.
"Because it is water, snow is just rain that froze on the way day, or rain is snow that melted on the way down, depending on how you look at it."
It was a cold walk through the forest, a cold that seemed to grow stronger with each step as the weather closed in on the setting sun. He was more cautious than he had been before, more alert to Kimaji, if she were to become lost this close to nightfall, it was something he'd rather not think about.
"Wait."
He had at least paused in his steps. Raising his nose, he scented the air nearby, searching the earth near a large tree for any tracks or signs that might point to a current occupant. Circling the tree until he was satisfied it was empty.
"This will do for the night."
The tree was large, hollow at the base, a large tunnel carved in the earth beneath. Inside it was filled with leaves and twigs, the makings of a warm bed. It had once been the den of another creature, perhaps a bear's winter den, but it had since been abandoned. For tonight, it was suitable for two lions seeking shelter.

"But you did go face-first in the snow. "
She stuck her tongue out at the god, laughing a bit, then checking to make sure she hadn't lost the pelt again, just for safe measures. Glad it was still there, she continued to trek down with the god, and seemed slightly relieved to be among the trees, glad for how warm it was. Still cold, but much better.
When he stopped at the tree, she sat down, waiting for him to give the 'ok', there was probably a reason for Cor to be so cautious, though if it weren't for him, she'd probably gladly trot right in and go to sleep. She walked into the tunnel once he was done, and contently curled up in the back, yawning. "D'you think we're gonna find your friend tomorrow?

Inside the den it was apparent this had not just been a quick shelter burrowed in the haste of approaching winter, it was a well constructed den, a home. The tunnel had been dug at an upward angle, protection against the cold wind and snow drifts. A thick bedding of leaves had been scattered across the floor, radiating warmth through the interior. It made the god wonder just what had happened to cause the previous occupant to leave such a nice home, no answer he could come up with was good.
"I don't know, but we will search as long as we can."
The god knew that there was only one thing that could break his link with an avater, and it didn't bode well for the bear he sought. But maybe the cubs she had borne had escaped whatever fate had befallen their mother.
"For now, it's time we got some sleep."
With a small yawn, he settled near the den entrance, curling into the warm bedding. Wings unfurled, covering himself like a feathered blanket, his chin resting on one forepaw. It had been a long day, and sleep was a welcome retreat.
