Thane closed his eyes briefly. What would it feel like to be.... dead? So, he was going to answer that age old question of ‘what happened after you died?’ Well, in his case, you simply got back up again and kept doing what you were doing apparently. Amadeo’s words suggested some sort of pain involved with the next step. Thane was not surprised. The separation of ones soul from their body was bound to be painful. To become a creature that lurked in the night and stalked the living; pain was to be expected.

Thane was ready for everything and anything now that the final decision to step forward had been taken. There was no chance of him backing out or changing him mind. This single minded determination was a trait that had often helped him solve the riddles of the runes which so eluded everybody else. But everybody else was weak of mind. He would not allow himself to quit without completing the goal he had set. That trait of his often caused others to call him stubborn and unyielding but their opinions were worthless. Their whinging fell on deaf ears. If they had problem with him, bad luck. They would go down their path and he would go down his.

Thane stepped froward at Amadeo's command, somehow managing to dreg up a hint of humour, the words wry and his smirk almost playful. “Be gentle with me, sir.”

Amadeo could not help the smirk that raced along his lips as Thane smiled in the face of death and offered it casual humor. But the Elder said nothing, his presence seemed to magnify and envelope the Chosen. Amadeo stepped forward, silent as a shadow, his aura both authoritatively strong and somehow chilling as his power flowed with every step. The fire seemed to shy away and grow smaller, as if it understood something even Thane did not. The room grew colder and the touch of spirits began to dance faintly on the fringes of thought and feeling, offering little but unease and ill-warning. The Giovanni Elder reached out a paw and slid it along Thane’s neck and around to the back, holding it firmly but not harshly to avoid any serious discomfort while keeping a good hold. This was simply a precaution in the event the soon to be Fledgling struggled. It wouldn’t be a first and Amadeo almost expected it with the amount of pain Thane would soon be enduring. Willing soul or not most everyone struggled under the crushing agony of the Proxy Kiss.

Now before the mortal, Amadeo looked down upon him with an unfalteringly calm yet alarmingly cold clarity. His dark eyes grew mesmerizing, deepening in color as he felt the swift lengthening of canine and the rush of power racing along his arms, seizing his prey and soon to be childer and using his thumb to lift Thane’s chin and expose his neck. His eyes met the other males for only a moment as the next action came too quickly for the mortal mind to register. Amadeo sank his fangs deeply into the flesh of Thane’s neck, holding him securely and closely to avoid separation. The pain would come gradually and would not simply be limited to the neck; it would envelope him from head to toe as he was drained. Starting as a tingling warmth, followed by a steady burn and then a torment so excruciating and violent he would either press through, pass out or die in the process. It was often death was the final outcome which was why the Giovanni were so selective. He drank slowly, deeply, his right arm wrapped around, holding Thane close by pressing steadily on his lower back and his left paw keeping a firm grip on the base of his neck. He was so strong, so powerful that had Thane wanted to escape... well it was a relatively useless notion now.

No second thoughts. Not exactly. Simply a panicky flutter of the heart and the sudden urge to be anywhere else but here. He shivered at Thane’s paw took a firm grip upon his neck, offering no resistance. Dangerous energy seemed to crackle in the air around them. Death was swooping faster towards Thane. True death or an undeath, whichever got to him first, was slowly entwining itself around him even before Amadeo was drawing out his blood. It was inevitable. These would be his last few seconds in a state of well... being alive. This was it. Game over. The two male’s eyes met, and everything for Thane seized to exist except for Amadeo’s piercing gaze.

Then a flinch as fangs sank deep into his neck, a pinprick of pain compared to what was to come next. It was the oddest feeling. Thane was aware of the blood pounding in his ears and of Amadeo’s dark hair tickling his chin and neck. His gaze moved upwards to the ceiling as a tingling feeling began to spread outwards from the point of contact between him and the vampire. Red lifeblood being steadily drawn from his body, Thane’s already somewhat laboured breaths caught in his throat as the tingle became a burn. The primal call to live struggled within him and his conscious mind fought hard to hold back the desire to resist.

Thane’s lifted his arms, gripping at Amadeo’s shoulder. He gave a strangled gasp, eyes widening, body giving an involuntary jerk as the burn increased, filling his entire body. Gritting his teeth he held on as best he could, It will soon be over becoming a meaningless mantra in his mind. But the pain continued to pile up and soon he could hear somebody screaming... himself he supposed. He had asked for this. This was his own doing. Agony filled him and became everything. Past, present, future seized to exist... all conscious thought disappeared beneath the wall of pain. The Buck bore it as best he could. Somewhere within himself he held firm, even as he convulsed in his suffering

Tears fell for his last moments of humanity, and as his legs gave out beneath him. He swam between life and death, only half conscious, holding onto Amadeo desperately. No longer even capable of making a sound, simply doing his best to endure.

The powerful vampiric Elder kept a close hold on his soon to be childer as he drank deeply from the weaker male, his eyes half-lidded as a predator once in posession of it's long sought after prey. If Thane moved suddenly his hold would tighten, pulling him into an almost otherworldly embrace. Closer and closer until, to the casual glance, it would have seemed as though the two males were sharing a moment of intimacy. In a manner of speaking this may have been so, yet not in the way a passer-by would assume. He could feel Thane's heart pounding in his head, visions raced across Amadeo's concious mind and sank into his veins, flooding his store of knowledge and nestling deep within for later sorting and understanding. The other male was closing in on the brink. If Amadeo was too hastey or if he drew the experience out too long he could shove him over the edge and headlong into a far less desirable embrace, that of final death. Thane's screams only furthered Amadeo's resolve.

The pain would be reaching a climax by now and as the Elder felt Thane lose his ability to stand, Amadeo held him up. Keeping his body upright with little effort. As he felt the last of the mortals lifeblood become increasingly hard to draw out he listened carefully to instinct and disconnected himself at the perfect moment. The swift slide of fangs from flesh, the pain now becoming a dull, throbbing ache. And the only trace of his presence were the puncture wounds which did not swell with blood as they should have at any normal feeding.

Well sated, Amadeo shifted Thane in his arms until he was holding him up with one. His right arm now free he curved it to connect with the claws of his left and sliced a neat line down one wrist, the blood swelling to the surface like fat, glistening rubies and threatening to fall to waste if he moved too suddenly. The Giovanni male looked ethereal and restored. His body a tower of strength and elegance, his features flushed with life and enhanced to the point of sheer radiance. Such a deep feed encouraged a power leap in all aesthetic areas, as well as providing a huge boost to any positive abilities.

He crouched slowly, powerfully to the floor, his muscle's rippling beneath his cream hued pelt. The fire casting his body into a myriad of shadow and light. Resting Thane's back against one leg and propping his head up with his left paw he gave him a curt shake to rouse him from his state of near death. "Thane, awaken." His voice was a low, thundering growl as it reached into the very depths of Thane's unconcious mind to wake him. "Drink deeply and live or sleep and perish." Raising his wrist to Thane's lips he waited, this was Thane's step to take. He would force nothing. The task of awakening and conciously seeking unlife was what seperated the weaker Vampires from the strong ones. Wheat from Chaff.

The pain had faded but Thane was barely aware of it. As far as the Buck was concerned, he was still in torment, his mind drifting further towards darkness. He flexed one hand weakly, body give a brief twitch before hung limp in Amadeo’s grasp, light breath whistling in at shorter and shorter intervals.

Death had its clammy paws curled around him, drawing him steadily away from the world of the living. The soft embrace of death was almost comforting after the agony he had endured. But a strong voice interrupted his fall into the eternal sleep, breaking through to the one part of him that still had some form of thought and a will to live.

For a moment it seemed that Thane would not respond; his heart fluttering weakly against his chest as it found no blood to pump and began to fail. He was silent and still. Lord Amadeo... I... A drop of blood dribbled down from Amadeo’s wrist, sliding its way into Thane’s mouth. The Buck gave a groan, golden eyes finally flickering open, still half-glazed over with his nearing death. He used what strength he had to angle his head a little more, lips clamping around the vampires wrist, drawing in the blood.

His chest rose and fell as he sucked in the blood, slowly at first, his energy nearly completely spent; only Amadeo’s command capable of keeping his mind awake. Then he drew it in with more zest as the blood filled him; the gleam in his eyes desperate as the will to live awakened and grew stronger with each drop of the delicious red liquid.

The vampire closed his eyes and lifted his head upright, perfecting the look of being on guard yet retaining a peaceful look, one of serenity and concentration. His ears flickered as he heard the mental notes springing forth in Thane's mind. The content made him smirk subtly. 'Lord Amadeo.' Indeed. His eyes slid open slowly, his head tilting forward to take in the delicate, on-going process of the Buck's first Embrace. He could feel the drawing of fluid from his veins, he'd long ago learned to let go of his defensive behavior when needing to share his blood. He rarely shared his life with anyone, and only if they were worth it. This Fledgeling would certainly be worth his precious time and blood, or else.

Amadeo would only allow him to feed for so long lest he become engorged and ill or drain Amadeo too deeply and leave the Elder weakened. Such a dangerous position to be subjected to, which was why the Embrace should only be preformed by experienced, powerful Kin. Amadeo could handle a greedy newborn easily should it come to that. He focused his energy on transferring useful memory, information, instincts that would prove useful to Thane's survival in this world as a Giovanni Vampire. He listened to the sound of Thane's fading heartbeat, noting exactly when it stopped. The more of the Elders blood he consumed, the quicker his body would shut down and finally die. Yet Thane himself would remain concious, gaining his new un-life steadily as he drank. The feel of another feeding from his body had always been intimate, it reminded him too strongly of his own embrace which was why his Fledgelings, his Childer, were always a step above all other Fledgelings. It was a Giovanni trait. Your own above others.

The need to drink grew stronger with each second. As his body strength increased, so did his desire to take as much as he possibly could. He needed. It became, for a time, his one consuming thought. The knowledge passed to him became a part of him, memories, idea and knowledge there for the taking, waiting for when he had time toe examine them properly. Within Amadeo’s arms, taking the blood in order to fuel his un-life, he felt the connection between himself and the powerful vampire. It was almost like being in the embrace of a lover and yet... it was much more than that. A part of Thane’s mind had been shattered during the trauma of his blood being taken, now it began to piece itself back together, using Amadeo’s strong presence as a guide. An unflattering loyalty to his sire wound itself around his being. His naturally determined disposition made Amadeo the god within his life; the one who had killed him and then given his life back; made Thane want to please and prove and know that he would never falter.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 14, 2008 6:01 pm

Amadeo's eyes glistened as he scented Thane's growing desperation, his sharp gaze drawn to the figure of the young vampire before he licked his lips and chose to speak. "You are full. Release yourself or I will do it for you." He offered the chance to grow strong by denying himself more blood. It wasn't uncommon for a Fledgeling to refuse, so sated with the lust for blood that they would choose to ignore the command. Most Sire's didn't offer to let the newborn Childer take control of the situation and release themselves. They would usually be removed by force. Greed flourished among Giovanni, especially young Giovanni. But Amadeo allowed the chance for growth and strength, he may have been cold and unfeeling with his own interests in mind most of the time, but he knew how to properly turn and raise a Fledgeling.

The fire returned in force, ferociously ablaze and all consuming as it tore across the fresh logs and towered golden and orange into the air. Retreating back into the fireplace it huddled over it's fuel as though protecting it from any thieves who might come calling. Around and to the side of the fireplace stood a little girl, her eyes empty holes in her skull but her smile was bright as she giggled and disappeared into the wall. Amadeo ignored her rousing of the fireplace for now, at least she was behaving and providing them some decent light. Her fear of him kept her well in check, he had no control over what she did when on her own. But around him, or when called, she would obey completely. The harvesting of souls was a useful venture and one Thane would become accustomed to, along with everything else.

Thane’s response to the command came instantaneous. Despite the desire to continue drawing out Amadeo’s blood, the fledgling creature stopping sucking, turning his head away to the side and away from Amadeo’s wrist. With the sudden rousing the fire Thane seemed to tune into his surroundings, and then came the onslaught upon his senses. Everything seems too bright, the colours too vivid, the smells of the room filled his nose and even just the crackling of the fire seemed too loud. It was all... new. He gave a low moan and closed his eyes, turning his head inwards. He felt... he felt... odd. His mind was still fuzzy, still remembering and cowering from the earlier pain. He flexed an arm, testing. There seemed to be an undercurrent of new power throughout his body, as if a boundless reserve of energy had opened up for him. That feeling was intoxicating. Thane opened his eyes up a crack, moving his head to stare up at his Sire. So this was what he had chosen.

Amadeo was, for lack of a better word, pleased by his childer's strength of will. Though he now had the beast within, he was no beast himself. The Giovanni Elder's eyes almost seemed to soften as Thane looked up at him, yet it wasn't softness, it was pride. A look reserved for few and given rarely. "Welcome to eternity, Thane." Standing, slowly, Amadeo held Thane up, bringing him to his paws and guiding him to the large, burnt auburn, leather sofa to set him down. "Rest as much as you can for now, get used to your senses. Everything has changed for you, nothing will be as it was. Your introduction to this realm will begin later, for now I will tell you that which you will need to survive." The tan pelted male, with his well formed, exotic features pulled a chair from his desk and sat down before his Fledgeling. His eyes deep, dark pools of danger and intrigue as he began.

"The sunlight is no longer yours to bare, it will kill you, stay away from it." This seemed pressing, his eyes sharp as he spoke. "You will need the blood of the living to sustain yourself, you will know the feeling of hunger before too long, for now my own should sustain you for a time. Stay away from those who are not your family until you understand your new nature, the ways and clans of the Vampiric world and The Masquerade, which is the rules we abide by in order to survive. There are other vampires and creatures out there that will kill you without hesitation for being who and what you are." His tone became harsh, almost disgusted by the thought of anyone killing a Giovanni, yet he composed himself almost instantaneously. "Tell no-one of what you are, even other members of the family who share our secret. Mistakes in this area are serious, none of the mortal family, aside from a select few, know what we are. It is far safer that way." He paused, allowing Thane to take in what had been said. His mind must have already been whirring, therefore Amadeo would not press him too harshly. He would learn all he needed to know in time.

In the shadows on the other side of the door, where she would have normally never admitted to being, Nalleme was oh-so-gracelessly poised at the keyhole, one luminous eye peering through into the shadows of the room ahead. She had seen almost the whole thing. That horrific embrace, the words that came after.

"Tell no-one of what you are, even other members of the family who share our secret." This was doubtlessly dangerous, and what she knew now could have her killed, or worse, cast onto the streets and disowned! Swiftly, she tried to back away from the door, intending to whirl up the stairs and away as fast as she could. But one delicate slipper caught on the hem of her dress, and she wheeled hard into the door, with a loud bang.

Amadeo's focus was intent upon his new childer, so it came as a great nuisance that his senses where triggered harshly and suddenly, pulling him from his Fledgeling. Now what was this? His pawsteps were silent, his body moving with such an alarming, frightening speed as his paw slid across the door handle and the door slid open, revealing the strong, handsome male to the object which had caused him displeasure. Yet the rage that bubbled beneath the surface was suddenly put to death by the sight of none other than Nalleme, another chosen.

His composure had given away nothing, not a hint of anger nor disapproval over finding her in such a state. And from the look on her face he had to move quickly to avoid a mess. "Nalleme, my dear girl.. what on earth are you doing in the hallway? Someone might get the wrong impression and think that you were eavesdropping, how silly." The Elder moved with grace and poise as he stepped from his lavish office into the beautiful hallway, leaning forward he seized her gently by the upper arm and lifted her carefully to her feet. His eyes frightening in their hypnotic intensity as he smiled, a dashing, charming smile. "Come, join Thane and I for a drink. We were just discussing some serious matters regarding family honor and sacrifice."

Cheeks lightly flushed in the firelight, the Nymphae smiled her most charming, girlish smile. With a subtle gesture, she rearranged the voluminous skirts of her cerulean ballgown, and she tried to hide the startled, almost scared look in her eyes. It wouldn't do to show weakness, not in front of Amadeo!

"No, I was simply looking for you, my lord! I was foolish and didn't watch my step, almost ruining my gown. It would have been a true tragedy." Chin up, pearly whites flashing. Her expression was gay and demure, all at once. But somehow, she had a feeling she knew what 'drink' entailed, and wasn't entirely sure it was wise.

But how did one refuse the head of the family? Especially when she'd been hunting him down for ages! "I would be honored to join you both."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2008 2:57 pm

Amadeo released her softly as he closed the door behind them, moving to his desk and procurring a crystal goblet which he filled halfway with an amber colored alcholic beverage that look suspiciously like expensive brandy. He held it out to her, his voice smooth and calm even in the face of a rather sensitive, not to mention delicate, situation. "My dearest Nalleme, you are a most promising member of this family and I must admit, instinctively resourceful and clever." His smile was powerful, for such a small gesture he knew well how to use it to his advantage. The door clicked so softly it would have been difficult for mortal ears to pick up, locking as it had done with Thane. He had to be careful. If she would not allow herself to become a Giovanni Vampire he would either have to persuade her into silence or else bond her to him in some way. He was hoping she would choose the best outcome for herself and himself. He had no desire to keep watch over her in order to protect the families dirty little secret, well, one of many.

"Many of the older generation has only good things to say about you, and I must agree that such a judgement is in perfect taste." He had such a charismatic manner, yet he kept a cautious eye on Thane. This was no time to make a mistake, and he would have to orchestrate the events to come perfectly in order for it to succeed. Nalleme was indeed a perfect candidate. She appeared to have such a drive to succeed, to over-come even under the harshest or most oppressive of circumstances and her ability to flatter and gain favor was an asset the Giovanni could not ignore. Therefore she'd been chosen. "If you'll forgive Thane, he has been subject to a most grueling ordeal recently and is in need of some rest. Shall we adjourn to more private quarters and allow him a bit of peace? I have a matter of some urgency to discuss with you."

Amadeo would not be leaving Thane completely alone. To do so was foolish, even with the door locked. He subconciously issued forth his bonded spirit, yet she remained invisible while Nalleme was in their presence. Amadeo inclined his head to Nalleme. "Pardon me for just a moment." Moving gracefully towards Thane, he leaned over, whispering in his ear in tones too low for the female to pick up. "Stay here, rest if you must, but do not leave. We still have much to discuss. My servant will watch over you until I return." The couch cushion beside Thane seemed to indent faintly as Amadeo spoke, the Elder leaning up and returning to his second guest. "Now, shall we?" His arm raised in a gesture towards the closed door opposite the entry door. "Ladies first, as it were." His lips curled into a smile that was not entirely unkind, but not entirely warm either.

Her nerves were strung on a tight wire, and she was walking with barely one foot. Breathing as steadily as she could, Nalleme berated herself. Lightly, she arranged her skirts, leaning as prettily as she could against the desk, content to stay away from the other male. With a firm grip, she held the glass, and sipped, shuddering as the firey liquid made its way down her throat.

Guh, that's so strong! She lightly pressed a hand to her chest, setting the goblet down on the desk. Her ears were sharp always, when a complement was paid, so the smile was brilliant on her lips as Amadeo told her exactly what she wanted to hear. It was rather simple to please the little Nymphae, and doubtless he knew it.

"Gladly I will follow you, my lord." Somehow, she had mentally attributed all of her anxiety and nervousness to the male in the other chair. After all, to be afraid of the great family leader was simply not savvy! Straightening again, she curtsied slightly to him in thanks before proceeding through the door. The smile chilled her blood somewhat, but still. Alone with Amadeo! Things were going better and better!
