I might have liked Roots more. Even though in some episodes they were lazy and only featured characters walking for like, ten minutes of the time.
Shino's death was pretty dramatic :/

Ohh yeah, that. I just watched that scene on youtube xD But did they cut out the part where he's hitting the floor, the sign, and everything while crying and screaming for Shino? D: That was like, my favorite scene.

I'd say .hack//sign is my top favorite...but I sorta like them all in a way.

Legend of the Twilight was what got me into it (The manga. I can't STAND the anime. Rena's voice makes me want to kill something)
But I really liked the plot of the first four games (Even though they were beyond infuriating), and the plot of G.U. So the games and //SIGN are probably my favorites. Oh, and //GIFT for being funny. :D
EDIT: I forgot A.I. Buster. D: Those two books were awesome. They really cleared some stuff up for me and were a great read, so they're on the list too. xD
