"Yes, tea would be lovely. Do you mean the one with the Lavendar or the one with the cinnimon?" He waited for Sol to lead the way and wondered exactly how many rooms he had. How could one possibly need more than one?

"Why both, of course." An amused little smirk played about the edges of his mouth as he led the priest through the maze of hallways that composed his home. After a dizzying array of twists and turns that all looked alike, they arrived in front of an ornately carved door. Pushing it open, Sol led Jerome into a small sitting room that, although filled with items that were no less valuable than what were in the main sitting room, was somehow simpler, subdued, exuding a quiet elegance that matched the personality of the occupant.

Jerome smiled, a warmth filling him at the realization that Sol would remember something so trivial as what teas he liked. He didn't understand, or really pay it any mind, but it was there none the less. The priest made an attempt to make a map in his head and the route they had taken, but gave up after a short while and just followed in silence.
He paused to study the door, marvelling at the craftsmanship before entering the room. He nodded in understanding, seeing Sol's touch in everything about the space. He smiled easily and took a seat on an overstuffed chair and looked at the toasty fire.

Tempted to join him in the chair, Sol gave a small, resigned sigh and took the seat next to Jerome, slender legs curled under him. A few seconds later there was a small pop and with a cheerful little "Cheep!" Kuraki set down a tea service with two delicate cup, an assorment of delicacies and two pots of fragrant, heavenly smelling tea. After making sure they had everything, the little bird boy saluted, gave another "Cheep!" and popped out.

Once alone, Sol turned to the priest and politely inquired, "I have both teas, which would you prefer to sample first, Jerome"?

Breathing the scent of the tea in deeply Jerome settled into the chair and thought for a moment and said, "The lavendar...save the best for last, oui?" he looked at the cup wearily, worried that he would drop it as they were so awfully delicate and they must be so awfully expensive and then Sol would think ill of him and he wouldn't know what to do about replacing it and he was certain that that one cup cost more than the small parish took in in a week and Sol would think he was a terrible clutz and they are so pretty and he's certain to make a fool of himself, he always did, and what would Sol think then?

Things would have been fine had JErome not slipped in that one "oui". As it was, hearing even that little word caused a shiver to run through the young incubus. Not a great one, but neough to make him lose both his concentration and grip on the cup he had picked up for jerome, causing it to drop to the table and shatter. Color flamed Sol's cheeks as he started gathering up the shards, embarassment robbing him of his usual grace as he stuttered out an appology to the priest.

The priest gasped sharply, startled. He stood quickly and helped Sol clean the mess, picking up the delicate little bits of porcelain, thin as a birds egg and just as delicate, apperantly. "Well, if you can break that one then I am sure to destroy the other. Perhapes there is something more...substantial?" he asked, beginning to dry the table with the hem of his cassock.

"Nonsense Jerome. The cups are fine and you needn't sully your cassock." A quick snap of his fingers and Kuraki appeared, holding a brand new cassock made of some unearthly light and soft material to replace the one Jerome had dirtied, a towel to finish cleaning the mess, and a new tea cup. Quickly and efficiently he had things spotless and a fresh cups poured before popping out.

"Tea tastes better served in proper cups and something substantial is not a proper cup." With firm resolve Sol passed one cup of tea over to Jerome, once they were seated. "so, let us enjoy our tea and each others company, yes?" A dimple appeared on his face as he flashed the priest a friendly, surprisingly gentle smile.

Jerome stared at the cassock for some moments after settling down, garment in one hand, tea in the other. He looked back to Sol in disbelief and said, "I can't accept this, Sol. It's too fine, I'd never be able to bring myself to wear it."
He fingered the cloth wearily, knowing that this argument would be pointless as Sol never let him refuse anything and always forced him to take his extravegant gifts. He knew that this would be the same and there was nothing to do about it but argue his futile position before giving in and hanging the (glorious) thing in his closet never to be worn.

Aki entered quietly, peeking around the corner of the library where he knew Rio was still sitting, having just finished the game. His fluffy white tail swayed behind him and his ear twitched a bit. It'd been awhile since he'd spoken with the incubus and he wondered what kind of responce he'd get this time. He had to admit he was a bit nervous, and yet still persistant, he stepped out into the library. He didn't spot Rio immediately though and decided to distract himself with the many shelves of books lining the walls.

With his calm, steady gaze, the young incubus regarded the priest. "Why ever not?" It puzzled him, this priest thing. He could see the appeal in living a secular life with the basics. It would be...intriguing. But that the basics should not still be of the finest quality? That, that he did not comprehend.

(I shouldn't reply after so long...but...>_>;; wink

Having gone to select another book, Rio strolled out from the stacks, holding two slender volumes in his hand. He was so absorbed by them, it took a while but eventually the white flash of Aki's tail caught his attention. Instantly he scowled, and, hoping the kitsune stayed away, took a seat and opened one book.

((Loser.))

"Well, for one, people would ask questions. This is a uniform that the Vatican dictates, and to have one like this would be inappropriate for my station."
Though he objects, he keeps stroking the fabric with long, thin, well-worked fingers.

(Your CAT Is the loser)

Sol looked questioningly at the priest. "What is this Vatican of which you speak? And why, if they offer you such a limited wardrobe, do they mind if it is of good quality?"

((...weirdo.))

Jerome sighed. How do you explain a life of service to someone who's always lived a life of extravagance (although through no fault of his own)?
"The Vatican is the head of the Church. It tells us what to do, how we are to behave. My parish is small and doesn't take in much money, if I were to have something this expensive, questions would arise as to where I got it. Bribery is not looked well upon."

(you say it like it is a bad thing)

"Church..." Sol turned contemplative, trying to remember what little he knew of the human world. The church thing sounded so familiar. With a small pang he remembered and the blue of his eyes dimmed for a bit. It did not last long and almost as soon as it came it was gone and he was looking at Jerome with the same vivid blue eyes as before. "One of the institutions set up to provide steady worship to one of the Gods. It's child and consort are worshiped as well, no?
