Nancta shrugged. "Suit yourself." She unwrapped her headscarf. Her deep gray skin lept out and marked her as an unnatural creature, but it was her pure white, glowing eyes that set her apart most. Not to mention the long white translucent hair that fell in waves around her shoulders and back. She sat down also. "Now what?"

he shrugged. "we can take a blood oath to never attack each other, or purposely cause harm to eachother besides just playful banter. then neither of of can harm each other." he stopped. "then again, you might not know the consequances of breaking a Blood Oath. not many do know."

"Umm... I've never heard of that. What's that again?" Unnoticed by her, Nancta's voice was already warming up and becoming smoother as she grew slightly more relaxed.

"How do you take the oath? Because if it's unnecessarily gory I'm not game. I have only just met you."

he shakes his head. "you simply draw some blood, like a p***k of a finger, and toss it into the air, proclaiming a blood oath, and then you look at each other, and solemnly swear by the blood oath, your oath."

"Fair enough." She held out her hand. "Do you do it to both, I do it to both, or to each his own?"

he held up his hand, and wind started to blow. his voice, as he spoke, echoed out strong through the area. "To the wind, i cast forth my Blood. To the Sky, i swear an Oath. To the power's of Earth, i seal my fate." he through out his hand, letting the blood fly into the wind, and there was a fell of magic in the air as he did so.

Nancta held up her own hand. "To the wind, I cast forth my Blood. To the Sky, I swear an Oath. To the powers of the Earth, I seal my fate." She watched her blood blow away. "Was that what the book was for, the wording to the oath? Or was it just some light reading?"

She turned the book over in her hands, looking for the front. Finding the index, she exclaimed, "Oh! That's the torture curse that they tried! I get it now! And that was the one they used on Aunt Namaena! Neat!" She looked up. "Which of the who-knows-how-many-dark-kingdoms are you fighting? And which one's yours?"
