General Stonewall Jackson Vice Captain

Although dismissed as paranoia, John had felt as though someone else was near them. He usually trusted his instinct, but it had led him wrong before and now was not the time to separate from the group just to go on a chase.
"We will be lucky to find a healer in this place." He was simply speaking his thoughts aloud. It wasn't too uncommon for him. It probably wasn't the greatest thing to say, but what was done was done.

Kaki glared at stonewall for his pessimistic remark, "No, I don't suppose we will. That is why at dawn we must make haste for the nearest town. I'm guessing that these creatures can't travel in the day light. This would be good news but for the guards that will be staked out to watch us. I don't know why they haven't attacked again."

Lilith decided she knew enough, they seemed a little to worried about this farmer to even bother attacking her. She briskly walked into the hut, looking at the group there. "I can asure you, mostly they cannot travel in daylight... If you speak of vampires.... However somethings... some who are loyal might be able to...There are ways to be both... Now I must ask who attacked you?" She remained silent for a second before adding. "You have no reason to trust me, but by that you have no reason to distrust me, in short you know not of my name, my cause or what I am, but I can asure you, any who are foolish enough to judge me now will pay the price. Now I couldn't help but over hear you have a wounded person.... You say he is stable, for how long?" Lilith sounded monotone and almost like she had spoke those words several times now and was used to the reactions that would follow her enterance. Her silver eyes feel upon each person seperatly, before starting to look around the room. She removed her wet cape and ringed out her soaking raven hair. She then stood waiting.

"I'm rarely scared, lady of the dark. However, I have only seen one other like you. The reason for you dead I'm uncertain, but it must be of past evil doings. I, however, trust you. You have nothing surrounding you telling me to do otherwise," he said as if to make her slightly mad, as punishment for stocking them. Kaki was slightly startled, but elves rarely show it.

She laughed, slightly mencingly. "Dead? Do you think I am dead?" She paused. "Alas, I am not dead, nor am I truely living, I am in a limbo if you will." She looked at him, directly in the eyes. "It takes more than words to spark emotion in me, but I am not a lady of dark nor light." Looking around again, she ran her nails down her right arm softly. She waited, she had long since lost many emotions and any she had, she hid very well indeed.

Breth crept in the far shadows, shuffling amongs the fallen leaves on crooked legs. He listened in on the group at the checkpoint. He was too far for any of them to notice, which was well for him. The hunchbacked little figure put a hand to his misshapen ear, cupped it to better hear through the pouring rain.
A darkly clad individual stepped up silently behind the hunchbacked vampire. "Lady Marie would like an update, worm!".
Breth turned around to look up into the veiled face of one of the Crypter's Hand's agents. "er, uhh...the group has only been on the road a short time. Already their guide has been attacked by the creatures of the wood..."he paused, then asked. "Why do you not attack them now?"
A stiff backhand slap was the response to Breth's question. "It is not your place to question, you wretch!", the agent looked into the darkness, as if imaginng the estate in the far, far distance. "Is that all?", he asked.
"No..."Breth rubbed at his stinging cheek. "a woman just joined them, an odd woman...one that has been re-turned.", he spoke of Lilith.
"Fine.", the agent responded. "Keep watch over them till I next arrive." He receded into the darkness, leaving Breth to shadow the group.

"I don't trust her.", Dana pointed out, taklking about Lilith. She sat up on her blanket. "Where did you come from, anyway? We just got off the path, so you must've come from further up the road."

Lilith sent a glare, but it soon faded, to the woman who claimed not to trust her. "Did you not hear me dear, you have only just met me, you cannot know enough to trust or distrust me." Looking directly at Dana now she spoke, matter-of-factly. "Well, I have been from many places, and by that I have come from many also. If you must know I have been wondering... Searching rather, for some closure to a certain stage in my life. Also, my name is Lilith.... not her." Lilith was not one for making friends, she just stayed neutral most of the time to her own cause.

"It is the matter of the elves to neither trust, nor distrust, anyone until we know about them." Kaki then stood and bowed, "I am General Kaki Pan, Skilled Slayer of all things evil. That is my right name given to me by the divine. May I ask from where you originated, milady?"

No reaction from the younger brother at the glare. He had gotten that look before so why should he get worked up about it...It was at that point that this woman appeared to the group. Instead of talking the two simply listened to what was being said.
The two brothers exchange a glance at Kaki's statement before shaking it off. To them it sounded like an arrogant boast, but whatever. They had heard the like before, but never expected it from anyone besides the big shots who sent them on these missions. Still he didn't seem to be the arrogant one and that is what enabled them to ignore the comment.

Turning her attention to the one called Kaki Pan, bowing a little herself. "I doubt you would know the place, it was a village many miles away where I grew up....Since then I have travelled." She looked about again and just seemed to return to her emotionless state.

The rain had begun to subside a bit, but the air was still fridgidly cold. The morning was more than a few hour away, and the dirt roadways would be muddy. Travel was possible, but would prove difficult after the sudden rainstorm.
An eerie howl resounded in the distance, followed by accompanying yelps and yips of the vicious canines that lived in the area. With the weather letting up, they had decided to come out for their nightly hunt.

"I am well over 600 years old. I have been all over this world and the next. I'm sure to know...." Just then he heard the howls. "They are hunting already? Perhaps we should put the fire asunder. If they find us it will surly be annoying."

Lilith looked out to where the howls had come from howls had come from in the distance. She wondered if they just belonged to dogs or wolves or if it was something for worse.

Dana looked between the vampire and the elf. As the weather began to clear up she looked around at the spooky woods. The sudden howling of wolves unnerved her. "Maybe we should continue, you know, before this guy dies.", she nodded at the farmer.
