Easier way of crushing our perception of space.

During the Big Bang (Assuming it happened), the entire mass of the universe was compressed into a singularity. A singularity is always a singularity, so when the universe banged into existence, it was still a singularity, and still is today.

This leads to therefore, it is impossible for us to know if anything exists outside of the universe because it is impossible to see or travel outside of a singularity once in one.

Other cool stuff. Time travels slower in a faster moving object, so when you drive you are actually 'younger' than if you walked some place. However, the time difference is so negligible that it doesn't matter, but when your speed approaches the speed of light, it is possible to go places faster, and be 'younger' when you get there. And when you travel at the speed of light, time stands still (but not at the iron hill, because it isn't traveling at the speed of light). So if we can determine how to travel at the speed of light, we can in essence make ourselves eternally youthful.

I can't remember the exact equation, but I'll ask my teacher about it.

Talk about a ******** thing I don't get is that it says they are entangled at creation, but it's a scientific law that matter can't be created, how can they become entangled?

So one of these has to be flawed.

Anti-matter..... Well that destroys matter....

That would explain my post.

But tbh I do believe that it is possible to create/destroy matter (Just because we don't know how doesn't mean it can't be done).

That would be very interesting if we were to figure out how to do that.

Its times like these I wish I was better at Science.....I, myself, like Psychology.

Edit: actually, after thinking about it, Philosophy is way better then psychology.

Are we talking about energy or matter? Because Energy can neither be created or destroyed.

Both energy and matter can't be 'created' or 'destroyed'. But this is a lie to make entry level physics easier. Science is just one big bunch of lies. Like the earth is a sphere, or the earth travels in a circular orbit. The truth is, the earth isn't a sphere it has mass that is concentrated more heavily in certain places, and the earth's orbit is an ellipse. Now these lies are all pretty minor, but Mercury has a highly elliptical orbit because it travels so fast that it gains mass, and when this mass gain happens it then subsequently slows down, and varying velocities cause elliptical orbits.

On to time. Time isn't real. It is made up.

I found the Equation for time and velocity.

The equation that states the faster you travel vs. time that is observed by you is...

t(o)=(t(i))/√(1-v^2/c^2 )

Where t(i) is the time felt inside the fast moving machine, t(o) is the time to people observing the fast moving machine, v is velocity of the machine and c is the speed of light, which is 3.00x10^8 m/s.

So if two kids are born at the exact same time, and then one is instantly placed in a rocket and sent off into space at .9c, and the kid returns in when he is ten years old, the other child will be..... 52.63 years old.

I think I did something wrong, but this is the right equation. When we did this in class we got 72, but maybe I am misremembering. Here is the wikipedia for it if you want to check it out. It's all Einstein's stuff.

It is usual. Quantum Mechanics and Relativity are very confusing. Even I get slightly light-headed thinking about it.

@ digital - philosophy pwns

@ everyone else - interesting. the electron levels and stuff was the most boring part of my chem class, but now that we're talking about this stuff, i'm very interested.

to anyone interested, i'd suggest watching the movie "what the bleep" because it explains some of the theories behind this stuff in an easier to understand manner than, say, a stephen hawking text. provides some interesting thought experiments.
