Manny's ostrich came to a much calmer stop, making an odd noise as it strutted around the trainer. The girl herself was now clinging to the beast for dear life, beginning to cry as one of the keepers lifted her down. The ostrich was coralled back into the exhibit, and Manuela was put on the ground where she hid herself in her knees. "I didn't mean to do it," she whimpered as the keeper tried to explain what was wrong, "I didn't want to. They're big and scary. I just wanted to have fun."

Harper was being helped out of the bush just as his mother got to him and quite anxiously pulled him out. As any remotely half decent mother should she checked him over for mortal injuries before grabbing his shirt by the collar and getting close to his face, "IF.. YOU.. EVER- AND YOU!" She looked to Manny, bellowing like a storm-woman-of doom. "YOU! .. YOU TWO AREN'T ALLOWED TO EVEN THINK OF EACH OTHER FOR .. I .. FOREVER!" She hissed, pulling him off.
When Harper was being pulled only by his hand he gave Manny a look, narrowing his eyes a bit at her tears and half expecting her to say he made her do it. Oh, that'd be rich.. even if it was maybe true.

Manuela looked up at Harper and his mother through her tears, almost wanting to scream something at the woman who was accusing her. Instead she simply whimpered and began to sob harder, the scene having finally drawn the attention of Mrs. Harris.
"Child," the woman gasped, "You've gone an lost'yer damn mind. Get up here now, don't drag'yer feet. Lord what would'yer mother say if she were here." She showed a distrusting look Harper's mother, seeming disappointed by her reaction, "And you, go on an hush up. What kinda example is that now? Throwin a fit over what children do. You did dumb things when you was a kid, you probly still do em to." She tugged Manuela to her feet, picking bits of mulch out of her hair as she listened to what the zoo keeper had to say. This'd definately be something coming out of the church fund.

Once a distance away from the other girl with her child still at her side, Ashley looked up at this Harris woman and rose her eyebrows. She pulled out her wallet and counted out a number of garish hundred dollar bills, slapping them in a nearby zoo keeper's hand.
"I trust that will take care of things?" She growled, glaring back at Harris. "More fun than it looks like you're ever gonna have. Say bye to your little friend Harper, it's the last time you are playing DESTROY YOUR MOTHERS SANITY with her!"
Harper, though, had expertly tuned his mother out. Though he was initially rather miffed at Manny's reaction, he felt genuinely bad for her now with all the pain he had apparently caused, and with one gape and loss for words he was pulled off again resentfully.
