Hsien watched him with curiosity though her own subconscious whispered just how afraid she truly was of being rejected. Her boring, sparse nature is what drove others far away from her sight. She was more on her own in life, yet she desired something more... though what was it really?

The guise of battle left her breathless but so did an interested party such as Qin in his intent to keep up with her. Its was oddly refreshing that someone even had the will to try and track her every move. Definitely something she admired about him Hsien admitted.

Now, she stood with her mouth gaped in pure shock as his words spoke true and tortured from his heart. First instinct was to run, run far away from this delusion he was resounding within himself. But, Hsien couldn't budge from her spot where she stood frozen like a deer caught in headlights. She couldn't speak herself in this excitement, this building curiosity that he really had an interest in her.

How could he love her... Hsien wondered to herself as she stood watching him. Was she all the while more than she herself thought she was or could be? She took note watching with a raised brow as she hid beneath her fu foolishly. Her words biting at her tongue like little daggers, a single sound could make him think different of her. What could she say right now or do for that matter? And why was her feet standing so still not even her breath could move them the mare pondered over. Finally she breathed as her mouth closed then opened wetting her lips to speak.

"Qin I..." but all her breath escaped on those two words leaving her open and defenseless to the elements surrounding them.

Qin trembled, not from cold, but from fear. He watched as Hsien's emotions changed and twisted. His own were gone, he felt numb. He saw a glint of an eye, then it disipeerred behind her fu. His breath felt trapped in his throat, it was a struggle to breath.

The world seemed to turn beneath him, leaving him and Hsien in their own parallel universe. Then time seemed to freeze as well. Then as Hsien spoke, the world seemed to unfreeze and time continued. He asked gently, "You what?" He waited breathlessly for her to answer, hoping.

Hsien-Ko felt something as it bubbled within her thinking back to her brawl with Cynder. How life was like a petal in the wind, which could go anywhere and stop as soon as it began. She gave the ice mare reason along with the rest of the herd that respected and followed the elder. Without the intervention of powerful little mare things would have collapsed as the smoldering teepee hides had.

She pondered her words gently thorough and strong as her will she carried. Her perception of Qin right at that moment reminded her of a teetering cliff that held his back, with the slightest slip he'd fall endlessly. She hated seeing him this worried to say the least.

"I," she spoke with her eyes hidden as her breath exhaled easily from her lungs, "I admire you greatly for you were the one that even attempted to keep pace with me, where others had given up steering elsewhere." She turned nodding as a strange feeling came over her breast that made her heart skip in beats. This is odd that I'm feeling like this.

Now he could see her face quite clearly as her cheeks blushed deeply in affection. That certain word didn't escape her lips, but her facial expression and the way she couldn't stand still by the raising of her feet were proof enough. "Not that I can express that certain feeling as I never had, but Qin I really like you. For you can make a warrior blush as heavily as you have making her heart beat so rapidly, perhaps her own feet would give flight."

She stood there watching him wondering just what he thought of what she had said. Would he interpret her contemplation or ponder endlessly over it all she wondered.

Qin was delighted, she did return his affections, but didn't know how to voice them. He could have danced for joy on the spot. He truely loved Hsien-Ko, and now that she had gathered up her courage and faced fate, he felt that he could do the same.

Feeling bold and strong, he took a step closer to Hsien, and quietly said, for her ears and only her ears, "I know now, I truely love you." It felt as though a huge burden had been lifted off his shoulders, and he could run free again, free as the wind; but this time with Hsien at his side.

He felt his words hang in the air, weighing it down, until their effect sank in. The whole forest seemed to lean in, waiting to hear what would happen next.

((Time to introduce the famaliar into this! XD))

Zi had been looking for Qin for a while now, and was getting quite perterbed. Thinking to herself, I'll skin him once I find him, yes Her keen fox nose caught the famaliar scent, and she bounded though the underbrush toward it. She could see through the trees now, there was a clearing.

She saw Qin and a strange mare together, and something heavy hung in the air. Zi shrank back, knowing that something very powerful was at work here. She did not want to disturb it.

Hsien felt a bit abashed by this sudden twist of fate, but also felt a bit more in confidence than she normally would. To her this sudden affection he carried for her was quite interesting to say the least. For what seemed merely as a boring image staring back at her day by day, was something more grand to another that saw something completely opposite.

Strange how it takes another complete soul to recognize this connection.

If she could ever utter those three words it would indeed take time, for a warrior was not someone that could simply toss everything away to show affection. But Hsien was trying and she knew Qin could sense it. Awkward as it was she didn't feel that off balanced anymore from saying what was on her mind.

She stood there quietly breathing so as not a sound could break her concentration. Her ears however swiveled catching the small movement of something rather small. Breathing quickening she sought out the source from the scent her nostrils were alerting her to. Even in this quiet time where the whole world began to pause, she still could sense anything that lingered about.

Demons were like that, this she knew for they were capricious creatures with a thirst for misdoings. Some more malevolent than others, each were to be taken seriously with a hint of awareness. But this particular beast carried no ill stench, only the usual scent of a canine as this female was.

"It will take me some time dear Qin for those words are difficult. But do not fret that I will vanish as a ghost does among the sunlight. I am loyal to that whom I feel is worthy of my presence, if that is what you truly want." craning her neck outward she breathed softly intaking his scent a little more.

Qin could sense Zi nearby, but was too deep in thought to call out a greeting. He knew Hsien was a warrior, and if she was, then he would be too. He would fight by her side if need be it, as he knew she would fight by his.

He also knew that it was difficult for a warrior to give something up, especially something as precious as the three words. Though Qin was not a warrior, he knew that those three words were powerful, and could not be used lightly.

He let out a soft laugh, and said to Hsien, "I know, but I will wait. I can wait for those words until the earth falls from the universe, and time finally stops, I can wait." He breathed in her scent as well, its sweetness made him dizzy with exhilaration.

Zi heard the words exchanged among the two soquili. It made her sigh with affection, Qin had finally found someone who he could be honest with. Aside from herself of course.

She let out a little fox laugh, which is a mix of a cough and a chuckle. Zi knew that Qin would always have her, but it was good to know that now he would have someone else as well.

She smiled in earnest at Qin for he respected such a thing that most others would have simply overlooked. Maybe someday she would open that lock that barred that simple saying. Perhaps in time this would be applicable. She wouldn't dare breathe she carried battle scars either from her last confrontation, these were hers to bear.

"Now I ask of you dear Qin... what is it that you seek upon this path you've chosen? I've always seen myself as uneventful but now I've taken to understanding there's much more now. Thank you." craning her head over she nuzzled him without any type of warning. She could get used to this after while.

Pulling back to look at him she smiled once more as her tail, though a little short, swaying back and forth quite cheerful with a bit of play. Maybe now that he had confessed, those words might come a little easier to a proud warrior such as herself.

((Do you think its time to add them as lifemates, or wait longer?))

Qin was delighted at her show of affection for him, and suprised. He nuzzled her back, and replied softly, "I'm looking for someone who will always be there for me, and so I can always be there for them. Someone who I can share an eternal bond with." He pondered his answer, then added, "Also someone who I can be open with, and won't shun any part of me."

His tail swished, and it wasn't because of the wind, it was out of sheer joy. He nuzzled Hsien again, glad that the words were out, and that he had a whole life to look forward to with her.

((That is up to you *smiles* Just keep in mind if you are thinking of entering the raffles to check with me first... I may only enter two in a raffle of my own and I have other pairs that also want to enter as well^^"))

She began softly, her voice carrying into his mind, "For a warrior to mention something so sincere is almost as if she were to place her sword down in battle. For a simple gesture or release of a treasured thing, could even place the fighter in danger. It is why I among others request time and patience till the calm resides within the storm."

She smiled lightly though her gaze was deep and attached to him. If he could give her that much, an oath of trust and dedication, then surely her heart would bud like a spring flower revealing such a beautiful blossom in the likeness of an oriental flower.

"Then as loyalty likes Qin I give to you my heart, but it will stay within its state till the flower blooms in full beauty." she felt more assured and even though it seemed that they had meet only a short while, time had paused and sent them agelessly into a wonderful now world. Turning her head she nodded to the little creature obscuring herself from view, "You may enter as you wish, for his heart he is willing to give also belongs to you."

Not knowing the fox's name she still showed attention to her, for it was respect that everyone was worthy of.

((Okey doke. ^_^))

Qin nodded at Hsien's words, and called out to Zi, "Come on Zi, you can come out now." He watched as the little fox untangled herself from the brambles that had snagged her fur.

Zi fought the brambles that clung to her pelt, then bounded out of the bushes to Qin's side. She looked Hsien up and down, then muttured gruffly, "I suppose he's made a good decision, for once."

She trotted up to Hsien, and looking up, introduced herself properly. "Hello there Hsien, I am Zi Yaun. You however, may call me Zi." She dipped her head a little. She had learned from experiance to always treat a bigger creature with at least a little respect. She had quite a few fading bruises to attest to the fact.

((Unless you'd want me to post it and you tag it back. Or we can wait a bit *nods* Keep in mind lifemating is for real and permanent. Its a major decision and something that means a lot.))

Hsien smiled as she became less tense than before meeting this companion of Qin's. If she were considering to give her heart to him, she'd have to respect and meet the family as well.

"Welcome Zi Yuan... I am Hsien-Ko warrior of the demons," she spoke with perfect clarity and grace as her head swept downwards in honor, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Raising her head she smiled lightly at Qin with a faint rue of blush coloring her cheeks. Her future sitting out within the battlefield contained another now. It at first to another of her thinking would consider it a burden, but to Hsien she didn't mind this adjustment. It wasn't saying much that she wouldn't go to battle with a dragon demon like Cynder, but she held loyalty for this other chinese hopping ghost such as herself. Once in an age old tale the warrior felt very dead and only knew war, but now with the new outlook, she felt quite alive and spirited.

Maybe this was the right path after all..

((I already posted it, can you tag it back? sweatdrop ))

Qin smiled as he watched the exchange between Zi and Hsien. He laughed silently as he figured out what Zi was thinking about getting stepped on. He watched Hsien carefully, not knowing how she would react to Zi, but he relaxed as they greeted eachother in a friendly fashion.

He pondered a thought, then voiced it, "Hsien? Do you have any family?" It was a question that had lain unspoken in his mind for a while, but now it really meant something. He would like to know if he now had any in-laws and the like.

((done Xd))

Hsien listened to hos querry shaking her head sadly. Except for Mei-Ling who had disappeared ages ago, Hsien had been alone most of her life. Little was to say really of the time she'd traveled on endlessly in the shadows of normal life. It was why she trained herself to fight and be bold in the face of the unknown. Living solitary had its weakness mirrored in sadness if you let it.

"No. I am a solitary spirit that rids the land of abominations and threats. Like darkness I cover the area and fade at sunlight. Till now I've not known the happiness one could receive from another. And if this is what you consider contentment with me being here... then I am satisfied. Granted I'm not that social in large groups, but I shall try to become more open for you."

She pondered for a moment watching him intently for just a glimmer if not a flutter escaped from her heart. Quite the odd feeling but yet it felt quite natural. "And you," she asked with the subtle closing of her eyes, "Have you a family to return to?".
PostPosted: Mon Dec 31, 2007 7:37 pm

It was Qin's turn to look down now. Sure, he had traveled with a herd every so often, but that often made him feel crowded and unsure of himself. The majority of his time was spent traveling with Zi, exploring forests, mountains, the like. He had once made a home in the bottom of a mountain, a cave, but he felt so bored staying in one place.

Realizing he had drifted off into his own little world, he snapped back to reality and hastily answered Hsien's question, "A family of my own? No, I've only ever had Zi. But now that has changed." He smiled warmly.

Hsien nodded tohim moving even closer to stand near him. Earlier in her life was was a wandering soul, forever along and able to conquer evil. Now she was standing with someone that she'd someday fully give her heart, how interesting life gave such amusements and surprises.

"Well it seems we both fit the same category, " she nodded with a soft smile, "Perhaps we can both build a family and create our own future" She purred with a rumble in her chest switching her weight upon her legs. Though she was content her mind was flickering images of her previous battle which she had taken a few battle scars from taking Cynder in her shoulder. The dragon's metal like exoskeleton had done a fair bit of damage to both Hsien and poor Celendria. She pondered the elder's disposition being pregnant and with obligation of finding Tirranna a home.

Sliding back to reality she flicked her ears, "I think now things shall move in motion rather than sit stagnant and petrify with no reason. I am quite happy things have deviloped this way. Thank you Qin."
