Stae paused for a moment, leveling her stare at Lonan. “Whoa. Whoa. This does not work.” She prodded his wing away with an index finger, clicking her tongue in a failing attempt at being condescending. “It is not polite to wing ******** Asra’s bag of sunshine whilst I am speaking to him. Th- Why the hell are you all scarred up?” Stae asked suddenly, blinking at Lonan.
“Oh Christ. Are you one of those faggy emo kids? Did you cut yourself? Where is your eyeliner? s**t. Wait. Not important. Who cares. ASRAFEL!”
Stae returned her full attention to Asra, shaking him by the shoulders vigorously. “Tell me there are ho-ho’s in the kitchen, Asra. This is a life or death situation, and I swear to Mary’s camel that if I don’t get chocolate cake wrapped around creamy filling I will shove my fist so far up your ho-ho hole that you’ll be licking kidney bits off of my fingertips.” Her pleasant smile was highly out of place, given the words pouring out of her. “Direct me to the snack cake, Asra. You are my burning bush. I am your Moses. Guide me.”

Asrafel's mouth opened and closed, as if sounds of horror were trying to come out of it, but nothing was happening. He knew Stae was crazy, but..
Before he could even respond to anything he was suddenly shaken so hard that he went limp in her hands, and put his own up to shield his face in case any flailing may occur. He paled at the kidney bits comment, and stared at her through parted fingers.
"STAE! Oh my GOSH! Yes there are ho-ho's, but I can't get them for you if I'm DEAD!" His voice cracked repeatedly as he screeched, and his wings began to work behind him, bringing him up to a float.
"Let me goooo, they're in the kitchen, right where you left theeem," The screeches were gone, and all that was left was a whiny, childish voice that insisted she go into the kitchen herself. Of course, he suddenly regretted that idea, and took it back. "Come oonnn. We'll be right back everybody!" He called out to the group, and tugged her along to the kitchen to get the woman some ho-ho's and maybe ask her a few important questions.

Stae stared at Asrafel, and an expression of unwavering joy came over her features as he confirmed the presence of those delicious morsels that would, one day, get her a free ride on disability checks when she was too fat to walk. “Well smack my a** and call me a teletubby, what are we waiting for?”
For now, however, the short, skinny woman waited for Asra to turn towards the kitchen before planting both hands firmly on his shoulders and hauling herself up into a piggy back position.
She wrapped her legs around his waist and planted a firm smack on his a**. He was a big boy now. He could handle it. “Yippe kai yay.” She said, “Onwards, to victory!”

Lonan didn't deem to reply to all the wrong-headed assumptions, merely lifted his wing out of the way as Arsa rushed off.
Still, he couldn't help but worry about the one he considered a near brother as he darted around. Was he really alright?

"Oh, Cal!" The fox laughed, helping the poor boy up when Asra dragged Joce away. It was the least she could do since she was the reason he was on the ground! "You alright?" Shauna's ears flicked when she heard her name, looking around for whoever could possibly be talking about her. It'd sounded like Asra. Oh my! She recognized those wings..even if there was a smaller second pair! Why were they talking about her? She was about to walk over when she was nearly beaten with a door being kicked open. Oh god!
Oh, it was just Miss Orestae...looking for Asra. Shauna finally did walk over to the group Asra was in to bug him about why he was talking about her, but she couldn't help laughing at when Stae called him a 'Naked Maypole.' Oh geeze!
And then she was called a furball.
Shauna gasped in disbelief that it was Lonan calling her this, pouting and playfully smacking his arm. "I am not a furball!" Anymore at least. She blushed a little when Asra spoke of her again, smiling bashfully and running a hand up through her hair. Shauna still couldn't help but laugh at Stae when she terrified Asra, putting her hands over her mouth so she wouldn't also get yelled at for thinking she was funny or something.
...All she wanted was a ho-ho?! She'd made it sound so urgent! She walked away after that to socialize some more and let Stae torture Asra for a couple ho-hos. Haha. Stae's crazy~

The door pushed open quietly, revealing a gap of tempting color. Red and pink icing roses perched upon motionless chocolate lakes...frosting pooling down the sides of the two layer cake and ending in ribboned ripples. At the peak, in the center of the petite top round, a large strawberry glistened.
Elle gazed just over it, into the room beyond. She was dressed to match, in dark red dress robes that slipped just far enough off her shoulders to show the lines of the pink slip beneath. A warm brown coat was draped over her left arm, and her hair was pinned up in piled amber waves. Faint smile lines creased the corners of her mouth, and crinkled at the edges of her eyes, sure signs of years of good life.
"Am I late?" She looked about for the nearest pair of helping hands...the cake was getting heavy!! Elle's voice was warm, but she glanced into the room with a bit of an uncertain air.

Shauna's next target was going to be Stala again, but a familiar voice and the smell of cake stopped her right as she was about to tackle the firey girl again. Someone brought a cake? Who did she need to worship for this blessing?
"Late? How could you be--ELLE!" The fox squealed loudly when she spotted the woman with the cake asking if she was late. She carefully maneuvered around the other children to answer the older woman's unanswered plea for help, carefully slipping her hands underneath it to give Elle a break. "Fashionably late if anything! This cake is gorgeous!" And it'd probably be horded by the fox.

Mirorim was all but oblivious to the loud invasion of Stae and other events happening around him; his attention was focused on Calumet as the silent boy returned the silent gesture with one of his own. As the holographic curtsy completed and the blue-tattooed boy was knocked to the floor, the pink-stringed one smiled with delight. Some of the little glass orbs now were internally illuminated with little bits of color: playful flashes of reddish-brown, and tiny colorful sparks oddly hazed over.
But... back to Calumet. Ror knew exactly what to do here! With another chivalrous sweep of the arms, he replaced his hat back where it belonged and stretched his string-draped arm in a helpful gesture-- it was becoming like an old silent film, as he wordlessly offered the other boy a hand in getting up.

It wasn't hard for Ilistala to get swallowed up by all the gay reunions and introductions going on around her. In fact, it wasn't hard for her to simply hover at Shauna's side while her cousin commanded attention from everyone, even rubbing her new-found cleavage in a particularly attractive boy's face. Delicious. Stala made a mental note to corner him and possibly use her sexy pre-teen powers for an intense make-out session later.
A flurry of new and old faces clustered around the congested room. As Asra was abruptly carted off into the kitchen, Stala realized, with an awkard jolt, that the group of apparent kin had been left to fend for themeselves without the aid of their host. Deciding she would salvage the situation, the young ball of color sprang into the air, using her leathery, slightly under-developed wings for weak support. "Hey!" she called, flailing her arms over her head for an extra boost of attention, a trait she had no doubtedly picked up from her mother. She would wait until every eye was on her, every mouth was zipped shut, and the gears of every male mind were whizzing by with thoughts of her, naked.
However, Ilistala soon realized she didn't really know what she wanted to announce. Eager to be in control of the conversation once more, she pointed vaguely at another door which would surely lead into a more spacious room. "Let's, um...go in there! Yay!" Taking the iniative, Stala gave her rapidly weakening wings a break by planting both feet firmly on the ground. She snatched Shauna's hand in her own and led her into the appointed room, hoping for a lazy kind of congo line to follow.

Elle sat hung her coat and bag by the door, making haste to clear off a spot on the nearest table for the cake. As soon as Shauna's hands were empty, she offered the girl a genuine hug...surprised at what an armful she'd become.
"Thank you! It's good to see your face, Redtail...and just look at the rest of you!" She shifted her eyes to Illistala for a moment as she spoke, making it unclear whether she was talking about the rest of Shauna, or the rest of the group. Raising one hand in greeting, Elle glanced curiously towards the kitchen Stala seemed so interested in.
"Ooh? Something to help with?"

Asrafel had shrieked when his a** was slapped, but this simply wasn't surprising actions for Stae. In fact he was sure she'd used him as some sort of piggy back before. He begrudgingly carried her in, and set her down on the kitchen counter. He pointed to the shelf behind her. "See? Right where you left them. Goodness forbid I touch your ho-ho's."
He thought on that sentence for a second. It sounded wrong, somehow.
Brushing the thought off, he waited until the woman had gotten whatever it was she wanted before leaning in and shyly asking her the question of importance.
"Stae, umm, have you seen Lillian..?"
He didn't understand why he felt so silly asking such a question. He was just worried about her, that was all. He felt flushed and warm, and wondered if he was soon to have another black-out. Please, he asked silently. Not now. Not until I hear an answer.

At this point, Calumet was nearly convinced Shauna was trying to kill him: first she tried to smother him, then she made him lose his balance, and then, as he gripped the other boy's hand to haul himself up, she nearly pushed Cal right into him!
Cal shot Ror a grateful smile before the sound of a tiny woman shrieking about kidney-bits and burning Moseses and ho-hos distracted him. He instinctively turned his head to look and caught sight of what appeared to be a giant floating cake out of the corner of his eye, deciding at that point that somehow things had gotten downright weird without him noticing.
When an out came in the form of the noisy red-headed girl he had almost met upon arriving to the Center, he took it, following her lead and tugging the hand still held in his own thataway.

Follow she did - Jocelyn had nothing better to do anyhow.
She was curious as to where the wild woman had carted Asrafel off to, but figured adult matters were just that: adult. As much as the little voice inside of her nagged and nagged for her to play detective, she managed to keep her footsteps steady and her eyes dead ahead. One stray look and she knew she'd be trailing after them like a Basset Hound.
Spinelli provided enough distraction, she told herself, picking absently at the teddy bear's eye. When she reached the door to the other room, she lingered at its frame and glanced back to watch the others filing in, wondering if the little doll-girl had too followed.
Not knowing anyone was really starting to bother her, and so was her reliance on her pink haired friend. People knew one another. But unlike Stala, who took initiative, Joce lagged behind. It wasn't that she was afraid, however, or even shy. No.
She just didn't want to make the effort.

Raeanne's glassy green eyes widened again when the male-creature, who reminded her entirely of the gingerbread men that Tyr and Pales had made for her once thanks to his frosting pink hair and gingerbread brown skin, leaned down to talk to her. One arm clung to her overgrown needle for dear life, and the other waved at the Gingerbread Man before grabbing one of Enoh's hands in her plushy grip.
"Hey Asra, Joce" Enoh waved, though she wasn't greeted....and she figured she should say hi to the other girl as well, since her name was provided. Lightly squeezing Rae's hand in comfort, Enoh eventually tried to get the girl to let go...she should mingle, after all! Squeezing Rae's hand was an odd feeling though, it was just like squeezing a teddy bear's hand. It just kind of...collapsed most of the way in, without bones to impede on the squeezing process.
When Rae let go of the shifter woman, her attention was on Joce. The glassy gaze went to the well worn teddy bear, and just as she reached out to go and take it from the pretty (and normal!) looking girl when some loud woman came stomping in, screaming something about...things...and deciding to treat the Gingerbread man like a slave. Wide green eyes silently watched the crazy woman, the Gingerbread man, and the girl with the teddy bear (Rae was terrible with names...but she did know attributes!) all left like some strange parade. Without glancing at Enoh to see if it was alright, Rae moved after the girl with the teddy bear. She seemed nice, what with the generally quiet demeanor and the affection for her bear.
When Joce looked back to see the crowd Rae was standing a foot behind her, her free hand pointing at the teddy bear while giving the girl as best a smile she could give with her lips stitched as they were.
Enoh, happy that the girl had taken it upon herself to trail after someone like a lost duckling, leaned out of the way of the crowd and just watched. It was good for Rae to meet people on her own!
