Stay looked around quickly, hoping to find some nearby fire to use. That was the bad thing about fighting a water-manipulator on a ship; they always had far more ammunition at hand. If this was the other vessel, she would use some fire to burn through the part of the deck the man was standing on. As it was, that was not really an option.
Stay darted to the side, keeping low to the ground and snatched up some of the fire still burning on the dead manipulator's face and clothing. Waste not... She held it up with her right hand, placing her left behind her in the flames to work on melting the ice that held it tightly, and blew. Her breath acted as a bellows, enlarging it and fanning it out over the deck without touching it towards the pirate. With any luck, she could get it to him before he moved his protective barrier.

Luck however, seemed to want to spite her today. In truth, he couldn't get the water shield down in time, thus he chose to sacrifice the water whip to save himself. Fortunately for him, Stay was right; he had an ample amount of water around him to pull up another one.
"Phew...that was close..."He muttered to himself relievedly though noticing that the first whip certainly hadn't been eneough to extinguish all the flames about him. "Lets see how long you can dodge!"he said, lashing the new one towards her.

Stay leapt to the side, landing securely on her feet, knees slightly bent. Her non-frozen hand jerked towards the sword at her side as she debated if it was worth it to set aside her flames for a direct attack. She was almost certain that she could beat him that way with relative ease as long as she kept her guard up. As it was, this dodging and beating about the bush was starting to make her nervous. The time for these sorts of games was when you were alone with your opponent, not when you were in the midst of a larger battle and needed to watch your back. Stay's eyes lit up and the corner of her mouth twitched. It was a sick idea, really. Sick. Still, it was a good one and like she had been thinking earlier, waste not...
Dodging another crack from the pirate's whip, Stay pulled some of the flames from his dead companion's body, leaving the majority of them there so that a fine thread, barely visible, linked them. She moved to the side, jerking her fire out of the way of his next blow, and arranging them so that they were facing parallel to the corpse with his shield perpendicular and still between them. The water-manipulator raised his arm to strike again and Stay followed his movement, sending a rush of power down the thread she still held to the body, engulfing it in flames and virtually catapulting it past the wall of water and onto the manipulator.

At once the manipulator threw off the lifeless remains of his fallen crew mate, keeping any more flames from spreading to him, but that certainly did nothing to help the ones that were already there. Consideirng the intensity of the fire steadilly engulfing him, he really only had one choice; he doused himself with the water shield. Excess spray jumped into the air to try and escape the toungs of orange and red, but fortunately for him it did infact work the way he had hoped it would, even if he had gotten some bad burns.
In the next instant, he had pulled up another whip rather than a shield, but solidified it into what was nothing less than a razor-sharp icicle attached to his arm, which he was using for offence and defence. The other, he kept fluid, and lashed toward's Stay's right arm, hoping to soak it througally.

Stay gave a soft noise of irritation as the whip bit through her sleeve, leaving her arm drenched. Well, that was that. She pulled out her sword. It was about time to stop being so flashy with her manipulations and regain her breath, anyway.

The water manipulator smirked arrogantly. This was good. She couldn't use her fire anymore, and certainly, that was to the aid of the crew; she seemed to be one of those from the Luciana doing the most damage. His frozen icicle-sword glinted in the sun as he readied to attack again, this time not bothering to use the water whip at his disposal. Instead, he simply stabbed it at her, assuming it would make contact.

Stay parried the attack it away from her and advanced, her fluidity in movement showing what was obviously years of training with the sword. It was her turn to strike and she took it immediately, blocking the ice-blade as it returned to hit her again and slashing towards the pirate's chest.

The other backed away just in time, keeping the wound from being fatal, but that certainly didn't stop it from being deep, bloody, and very painful. "Why you..."He grimmaced slightly, staggering back a bit. After a moment however, he recovered himself eneough to realize now was not the place to simply give up and be hurt. If he was going to die, which with this wound seemed likely, he was going to do it with a bang. Thus, he lunged forward, the tip of the ice-blade heading straight for Stay.

Stay turned to the side, arching her body away from the blade. It skimmed over the front of her vest and coat, catching and ripping the fabric slightly. She looked down at the ice-sword, her breath caught in her throat with the adrenaline and reflexive movement. Stay raised her head, turning it to look into the water-manipulator's cerulean eyes. She faltered a moment, unmoving, and he pulled back his arm to strike again. The blow never fell.
Stay stepped back, putting up one hand and pushing his body off of her sword. She pulled the blade from his neck with a slow sucking noise and a rush of blood and let him crumple heavily to the ground. "Well." She spoke softly, then turned to look at the chaos around her, seeking entrance into the fight once again.

((ARGH! Damn you! Both of you! I can't fix this! I don't have enough magic. Had it been ONLY those posts on page 2... but NOT with all this. >_<; Lance will have had TOO much time as it is already. *sigh* No, we'll just have to trash that idea until a later time... or something.))
He'd had in mind to do something about that for sure but now he was simply out of time it seemed. Sometimes these things just happened so fast (>=( Exactly! *shares that sentiment*). Oh well, he had no time to waste now, not when the opposing captain was so nice and came to him, and was so swift about it. Why, it was like getting an important delivery on time or even some days ahead! A pleasant surprise, so to speak.
((I HATE THIS BLOODY ******** s**t!! WHY?! Why does it take away part of my post as soon as I click the ******** italic button!? It's just DAMN, ******** lucky it didn't take my whole post. *irritated now*))
Up at the very aft of the ship, where the steering wheel was located, it was empty. The perfect place for a duel. Falk moved there, he knew she would follow as soon as she got herself onto his ship. Her pride would stand for no less. He smiled slightly. Indeed.
((Now my post can't get any bigger. Why? Because you two went and ruined it and so now we have to jump directly to our part, Suji. >=E Grrrr. *readies blade for Kami's neck* >w> Let's take that forgetful little 'eadie of yours right off yer prutty little s'oulders so ye dun have te worry about it an'more. >w> Kee kee kee. *cackles* <-- is still irritated at the loss of (very little of) her post... can you tell?))

((*wearing helmet* >____>
Oh, that must have been a thinking cap! o_o Since you just wanted more time, why doesn't the pirate captain *blanking on the name* get held up for a bit? If not by someone directly challenging her, then by some of the "special effects", so to speak. If there was a lot of water between her and Falk, like the water shield Suji's manipulator was using, then she'd have to take a longer route to get to him, which, since not too much time has passed, could more than make up for it.))

((>E No. Won't work. I've already made my post and she seems to already be on board the Luciana. Plus, Falk would make sure she gets to him if she's held up by anyone of his. >.> And plus... he's already in position. >w> You plead your case well! But you won't survive! Kukuku! >w>))

Lance watched the other captin move to the aft, and followed immediately. Indeed, he did know her as well as he thought he did...or at least her ego. Through what seemed like the sea of combatants she went, until she found herself alone in the destined location for their grand final fight, the traitor standing before her.
Of course, manners were not above Erica Lance, "...Its been a while. Its Falk, right?" A slight smile graced her lips, but not one to be mistaken for joy; this was the look of someone who was sure they were about to taste the sweetest revenge the world had to offer. Then, she reached the extent of her manners. She threw a ball of fire at his feet, before drawing her sword to attack.

"Indeed, Falk du Ruine," he replied and then he had to dodge her "fiery" ending line. "And it has been some eight years since we last saw each other. I can safely assume you want the same grace as the captain Fahr was given, yes? A final duel to last man standing... with a sword in hand," he added, almost as an after thought or as if he wanted to say that he didn't really want to kill her. Nevertheless, he drew his sabre too.

"If you want to call it that...Personally I just want to see what color the blood of a traitor runs,"she said with a rather acidic edge to it, as she turned her blade on him once more. He moved out of the way and she missed her target, but that didn't stop her from continuing to slash at him.
"It seem sto me, Fahr was an idiot with the last choices he made. I would have thought him to be a much better man than it turns out he was,"Lance spat, emphasizing slightly every word on which she attacked. Even though she wasn't using her manipulation, the captain seemed to eminate a firey auora as she slashed at him...After all, betrayers deserved the harshest revenge that could be dealt.
