Afos allowed himself to be led out of the office before turning to the fox plushie.

The fox-plush led Afos outside, down the street and around a corner, out of sight of the Pirate HQ. He stopped abruptly and turned around on a hind leg, offering a folded sheet of paper with one black paw. "Your court date and time. Don't be late." And then the fox was gone, vanishing off into the crowd with the flick of a black-tipped red bushy tail.

"Thank you sir."
Afos saluted the plushie as it disappeared, checking the date on the paper as he did. The others at the library would be expecting him back soon. The tall young man turned to the edge of the street and peered down the steep cliff at the water crashing against it. A few moments later, it appeared that the Jhand had all relayed their messages to him. He took a few steps back before using them as a running start. His long arms outstretched Afos plummeted towards the sharp rocks and crashing sea. A harsh word in an arcane tongue flew off his tongue, hitting the waves before him. In response, the water shot out a splash of purple, encircling the young summoner in a cocoon of purple that formed itself into a sort of submersible beast around him. The beast dived beneath the surf, heading for the Tenth Sea.

Lee and Zetsumei walked out with the backpack full of gold and went to the hardware store to get supplies for the research center.
