"Yeah, I want to and... Huh?" Feeling the tug, Ignacio looked over at the little girl. "What's up, Wisp?" She couldn't answer right away and he put his face in close to study her. "Oh!" He laughed and patted her head before pointing to his mouth. "Just keep chewin'. Then you can swallow it."
Delilah tilted her head and held out a hand politely. "Yes, please." Then she looked over at Antony and the others. "Can Antony have one too, please?"

"Of course!" Missy said as she picked up the much lighter pail and handed it around. "I'm afraid Chris got to it first, though."
Chris swallowed loudly, then licked at the candy on his face.
"Thank you, Miss Missy," Antony said politely as he took a piece.

Wisp chewed and chewed and chewed: finally, the taffy went down, albeit a little violently, and she hiccupped a little. She clapped at herself in congratulations for this act. "Trick-or-treat!" she said again helpfully, just in case she got more.

Ignacio laughed and held up his hands to show they were empty. "Sorry," he replied. "I'm all out. That was my last piece. I kinda... Ate everything else I had. Dad said I'd better before I came home or I'd be bouncing off walls."
Delilah delicately chose a piece and then thanked Missy again with a sweet smile. "You're nice," she informed her. Then she liberated the bucket from the older woman and offered it to Antony. "Do you like candy, Antony?"

"Yes, of course I do," Antony said. But he didn't like chewy candy as much as hard, since it got stuck in his perfect teeth, and chocolate always got on his fingers when he tried to eat it, so that was irritating as well.
But he wasn't about to mention either of those facts. "Do you, Delilah?"
Chris looked at the bucket being handed around, but made no move to get another piece. He was still licking at the candy on his face. He had a remarkably long tongue.
