Ye gods, all the time. Let's see...

I get called gay:
-Because I wear tight pants
-Because I wear make-up
-Because I wear a lot of jewelry

I get called a Satanist:
-Because I wear black
-Because I wear a lot of chains and spikes
-Because I wear band wristbands

C'est la vie, though. You get used to it. Sometimes it can really affect things, but you just have to learn to accept it, and try to change the impressions of those who matter.

My friends say that I look like a druggie because It looks like I'm hiding crack in my jacket.

I don't really wear anything that particulary stands out....usually just jeans and a college hoodie.

I've never really been called anything...I don't know if there is much to assume religious-wise from my clothes. I usually don't wear a cross or anything. I have one but I usually wear it on holidays and I have to wear a dress.

I have a nice nameplate necklace though. I seem to switch between that and my claddaugh necklace as far as everday wear goes. And I wear a claddaugh ring all the time. So maybe people do assume I'm Catholic because of the Irish thing...but not likely.

Hmm... A lot of people think that I'm a conservative Christian because of my long skirts and dresses... but I'm neither conservative or a Christian. I don't mind, but it does get annoying. domokun

Religion never comes up for me in conversation, much less assuming a person's religion from dress. I cannot think of any time in memory that I've witnessed someone doing that or have done it myself. Unlike a person's physical appearance determined solely by genetics, though, I will judge people by how they dress. But these are not cemented judgements which are unchangeable and impermeable, but tenative hypothesis. People wear what they like, and it advertizes who they are.

Even so, I'd never try to infer something like religion from how someone dresses, largely because I have no way in my own head of making those assumptions even remotely accurate (unlike, say, assuming someone wearing a fantasy shirt is a fan of fantasy). Only very obvious dress cues are wise to place judgements on. If someone's wearing a shirt that says on the back "shut up and drink your beer, stupid," a person has every right to judge them for that accordingly. This doesn't mean you treat them like trash by any means, though. It just means that if you dislike hanging around with people who drink you don't try to garner them as a friend.

Well, I'm not sure if it is because of what I wear, but the strangest thing happened to me the other day at school. A person who had been in my speech class last semester approached me and asked if I was LDS. I said that I wasn't, and asked why she asked. She said that she had overheard some people from our old speech class saying that they were going to make fun of me because I'm LDS. It was just kind of strange.

Judged yes! I get judged all the time for what I wear. I don't even stand out. I just wear shorts and a shirt. Anything I like. But since I am the quite and shy one. I get called a goth and a suicidal maniac. All I do is mind my own, but I still get judged. And If I wanted to be a goth I would be. But I don't want to be. ANd no offense people, but the "Goths" at my school going around saying that wearing black it apart of their religion. I would talk and hang out with them if they didn't act like freakin' fluffies. Well that it. I go to go anyways...

LDS is an abbreviation for Latter Day Saints as in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or The Mormon Church.

As for what Purus said... goth is not a religion. Those people you're dealing with don't know much about goth. It's a subculture that grew out of music, speicifically a gloomy, distant style of post-punk, starting in the late 70s and early 80s. It's hard to find genuine goths these days.. most don't know what they're talking about.

O I get judged all the time for what I wear and stuff, people make fun of me for wearing wrist bands. I like to have messy hair and the richer crowd push me around for it. I always always wear jeans and ripped ones and stuff, and again with the rich crowd...I dont get judged religion wise to much though because nobody expects the "push over" "walk all over me cause im to nice kid" to be anything but Christian

Yes, I am constantly judged for what I wear. I refust to wear what all the "popular" girls do and for that I am judged a misfit among them. I am okay with that though, their oppinions matter not to me. I have my own group of friends who accept me for who I am and what I choose to wear.
