[ Flareon HP: 300/1000 ]
"Pretty darn sure. Or maybe I could pretend I'm at some sort of emotional crossroad. That usually works." Because nothing heals emotional damage quite like money. Teivel couldn't help but smirk slightly, though he dropped the expression the moment he realized he was doing it. He wanted to keep his nose (and his nails, he'd just had them done) in tact.
Sarka winced as the building began to collapse, blue eyes suddenly focused on their surroundings. Oh crap, this was not good. They were going to have to get the heck out of here! "Flareeeeoon! (Don't move!)" She called the Ninetales as she charged headlong at him, intent on tackling him out of the building and into safety. Battle or not, she wasn't going to leave him there fainted. That wouldn't be very nice. Besides, she owned him for giving her his brownie.

[Ninetales: 0/1000]
"Ah, Fuzzy Moron, are you okay?!" Razalin cried out and ran over to the Ninetales. He had landed just a few feet in front of her in the spilt second it took her to blink. (No, she couldn't call him by a real moment even at a time like this.)
...Wait.
"You...You LOST?! How could you LOSE?! You're like ten times her age! Didn't Uncle teach you anything?! Didn't all that b***h work they used you for do you any good?!" Razalin was sure she wouldn't have to worry about her obnoxiously bright hair anymore. Because what didn't fall out she was going to pull on until it did.
"Niiiine...." The whining Pokemon was hardly concious. His 'trainer' (regretablely) sighed heavily. This really sucked.
Well, only one thing to do!
In no time she had her cellphone out, number dialed, and held up to her ear. "Dad? Yeah, this is Razalin. I just wanted to tell you that Teivel and his Flareon you gave him the Fire Stone for just burnt a building down."

It took Teivel a full minute to realize what happened, and even so he could only open his arms to his Flareon. Sarka, apparently very pleased with herself, leapt up into his arms and settled down. There! She had won! Now hopefully Teivel would feed her better and make her pretty and spend more time on her than on his hair. She had just saved his butt and he owned her big time!
Teivel turned to grin rather insanely at his sister, eyes twinkling gleefully. "Oh you've got me Razzy, he's so very strong and skilled. Why ever wouldn't I want a Pokemon like hi—" His extremely gleeful mood ended very abruptly when Razalin did the unthinkable. She did not. Oh she did not just call Dad and tell him what they'd done.
"IT WAS THE NINETALES FAULT! RAZALIN WAS MISTREATING HIM AND HE SET THE BUILDING ON FIRE!" The teen yelled, hoping to drown out any further words that his sister had so say. "SHE'S LYING!" She was so dead when she got off that phone.

Razalin quietly let him rant. When he shut up, she nodded (not that it mattered, her father couldn't see her). "I know? Do you hear him blaming it on me like that? As if Sir Van'Tess would do such a thing! See what that team is doing to him? You really should punish him. ...Uh huh. ...Uh huh. Cut him off, you say? ...Yes, I think that's a splendid idea. ...Uh huh. I love you too, bye!"
In fact, Razalin was sure she had never loved her parents more than in the moment the reassuring 'click' of victory sounded on the phone and she tucked it away back in her pocket, grinning at her brother. "As if anyone would believe a Rocket over a Doctor. How cool is that team of yours now?" Idlely she adjusted her glasses.
In the end, it was up for debate which of them was truly victorious.

Teivel could only gape at his sister, not believing what he was hearing. How dare they believe her over him? He was their treasured son! He was the one who was supposed to inherit their family profession! Sure he didn't want it, but it was the supposed to that counted! The Rocket's grip around Sarka tightened, causing the Pokemon to squeak and flail a paw at him.
"You... you... "
There were no words. And when there were no words, Teivel would only do one thing. Run. Without a second glance he turned and fled, Sarka leaping out of his arms and barreling along after him. He was so going to call his parents later and cry for them. That would make them pay for the damages for sure.

Victory was sweet.
Razalin took out the dusty, unused-for-many-years Pokeball and the red beam of light swept the family guardian into it. Running didn't sound like such a bad idea, as she was starting to finally hear sirens in the distance.
Time to make like a tree and get the hell out of there!
Much, much, much later, as the moon hung high from the sky, Razalin sat in her forest camp still tending to the wounds Fuzzy Moron had obtained during the battle. She finished her handy work and admired it. Until she noticed the Pokemon's expression, staring unblinking at the moon.
"Why do you look so serious suddenly? If you're upset about losing that battle, you should be. Getting beat by such a loser Flareon like that."
Van ignored her. She was wrong. That Flareon was special. His gleaming red eyes connected the stars in the sky together to resemble the shape of the fire-type Eevee evolution.
Yes, she was special.
And Sir Van'Tess was sure this must be love.
"You better not be falling for that thing after she beat the hell out of you like that."
Yes, it was love.
"I'm serious. She owned you. You need to think about a rematch and that's it. Don't you have any shame at all?"
It was love.
"Don't give me that look, you idiot! Your crappy performance made ME look bad!"
"NIIINE!"
IT WAS LOVE, DAMN IT!
