Rude as she always was, Cypress brushed past Toshi and bustled over to the steaming bathtub. The EMF detector was unceremoniously shoved against the wall. After checking every wall and fixture, Cypress cursed lightly under her breath before turning to the curious party in the doorway. "It's an Electro-magnetic field detector. Certain people believe you can detect ghosts with them. Either way, it's a handy tool to check weither the lights flickering was a wiring problem or not." Cy glanced at the ceiling where more noises were descending as the doors of every room on the second floor swung open simultaniously. "I don't think we're dealing with ghosts." Cypress stared up the staircase from the base of the stairs by the bathroom door. Slowly, she began to ascend the steps, her own Whimsicals following as fast as they could.

Damien followed closely behind, trying to avoid jumping through Cypress' feet. Which, for a small pup was indeed a rather difficult task. Sniffing the floor, he picked up a scent. It smelled funny, and he couldn't even identify what it was he just knew it wasn't anyone here with the party. He stuck his nose in all the doorways before following the party. Suddenly he barked, he had sure picked up on something.[/color]

Poppy was also right on Cy's heels as the determined human hurried up the stairs. Each step was a challenge but her lanky body allowed her to jump up fast enough to keep up. Her eyes and ears were on high alert for any sign of the mysterious sound maker they were hunting. Once they reached the top, she kept close to the other whimsies as they searched the attic.

With the brave Whimsicals venturing down the hallway, Cypress grew more and more uneasy with each step. Just as she heard the small pup at the end of the hall bark at the entrance of her own bedroom, every door on the second floor slammed shut on it's own! Cypress was startled and fell backward onto her bottom in shock, thankfully, Harelquin had been following closely and shoved the orange feline out of the way of the falling backside. "Alright.... I'm officially terrified now... The windows up here have been sealed shut with plastic since last week." Cypress got up and flung open the nearest door and glanced around at all of Cyzzane's personal items, looking for anything out of order. Behind her, the attic hatchway swung down from it's place in the hallway ceiling, creaking ominously every agonizing inch of the way. Cypress= eek

Poor little Damien, as soon as the doors slammed shut he jumped two feet in the air, and with fur standing straight up hid behind Cypress' leg. After everyone had recovered and Damien had once more reclaimed his ego and a level of comfort, strode forth into her room. It was a rather nice little room he thought to himself, a tad disorganized, but his tank was not exactly clean either. He almost grimaced thinking of the algae that was underneath his little tunnel. Distracted from his thoughts by a noise, he looked up and saw the trap door go down. There was something up there, and they did not smell pine clean fresh, in a moment of idleness he wondered if whatever it was had a clean living space. Barking loudly he pointed upstairs as any good pointer would do for about 3 seconds before loosing his balance and falling flat on his face. Re establishing himself he looked for a way to get up the attic and trying to show off his courage scampered up the attic hatchway. The whole place smelled of dust and Damien sneezed. Wrinkling his nose, he looked around the dark attic that was very quickly creeping him out.

A little dense, Toshi thought little of the way the other girl brushed her off to do her own business. Her bright blue eyes followed Cypress's actions as she checked over everything, and she listened with a small, nervous, yet somewhat excited, grin. Backing out of the Bathroom doorway to give the other girl some more room, Toshi jumped and nearly fell over backwards at the sound of every upstairs door opening simultaneously. Precariously, she danced over the random assortment of tiny cats and dogs that had suddenly assembled around the bathroom she had just come from. She blinked a couple times as her heartbeat thundered in her ears and made her head seem to pulse. Although she was more than a little freaked out, her legs still seemed to move of their own accord when the girl with the strange EMF device began climbing the stairs, followed by several tiny creatures. Curiousity and adrenaline were mixing in her system, giving her a very anxiety-driven urge to follow and find out why all these strange things were happening. As is normal when one is frightened and pumped with adrenaline, Toshi's senses seemed to be on fire, pushing out to the ends of their limits to detect anything before it could pose a threat to her. A small yip at the top of the stairs had her attention drawn to a small pup, just as all the doors in the hallway slammed shut again. The blonde-haired girl yelped and jumped back when Cypress fell backwards.
Toshi nearly tumbled back down the stairs with the motion of events, save for the hand that was clutching the top of the staircase railing for all she was worth. Glancing back briefly, she let out a shuddering breath and pulled herself back upright, taking a few steps onto the second story as to prevent that from happening again. Smoothing out her blouse, Toshi looked down at Cypress and flashed her a small smile before moving a little and offering her hand to help the other girl back up. "..Be careful... It's a little dangerous up here, it seems..." She spoke quietly, trailing off as the creaking of the Attic staircase as it descended elicited a trail of shivers to make it's way up her spine. For a few moments, Toshi remained frozen, hand still outstretched, then her eyelids fluttered a couple times and she took another slightly shaky breath before refocusing on Cypress and nodding, "Ahm... If it's not ghosts... then... the er.. technology in this place, it's really a-amazing." She heard the small pup from before bark again as more small tremors traveled up and down her back.

Cypress paused on the attic staircase, surrounded by Whimsicals, and glanced back at the human girl behind her. "Technology? Hardly. I think I have an idea of what it is but I have to check to be sure." Cypress followed after the few more adventurous Whimsicals. "Slow down. I may not own you but I work here and I am ordering you to be careful!" The Whimsicals all ignored her as she expected them to. The attic was clean of dust but it had a certain musty air that was only slightly covered by the pine air freshener. Guava and the Black and White Lachkynd had raced further ahead, well on the track of something. Both were barking like mad.
Cypress carefully stepped on each support beam to get over to the corner where both canine Whimsicals had managed to pin a white sidhekynd. Cy grabbed the Whimsical behind the head with two fingers and smirked. "I was right. There HAS to be a daemonkynd leading you." Several more doors slammed down on the first and second floors. Obviously, the 'ghosts' that had been making noise were very displeased with the capture of one of their own. "There's at least two more! We have to find them all to get the noises to stop."

Poppy was impatiently jumping up Cypess' legs to get a look at the little Sidhekynd. All she could do was mew at her before noticing that the surrounding whimsies were fanning out again. It looked like they were looking for more mysterious whimsicals, so she joined them, eager to catch one of the trouble makers herself.
A curious green everkynd kitten finally made it up the stairs after the first white whimsie has been found. Tahoe crept toward the middle of the room looking from side to side with every cautious step. He was under the impression that it was dangerous to be up here because his big sister Adore and his mother Praecine had both tried to keep him downstairs. Finally reaching the humans, he tried to stay close as he joined in the hunt.

(May I pose a question?? :3 I'm going off Cypress's description of the shop and the blueprint, but I'm getting the impression that this 'attic' isn't really like an attic at all.. more like the criss-crossed pieces of wood holding up the roof, like in a log cabin type setting... Am I right? Then there isn't just one level 'floor' and boxes and junk everywhere?)
Toshi 'hmmed' and tilted her head before scrambling up into the attic after the other girl. She was perched gingerly on one of the beams when the small white creature had been discovered. Peering over at it, Toshi thought that it looked cute and it eased her anxiety a little. She murred and gripped the beam she was on a little tighter as it began trembling unexpectedly with the force of the various slamming doors below her. "Two more, huh? They sure are causing one heck of a ruckus..." She murmured to herself, glancing around briefly before creeping forward on her hands and knees to aid in the search. Despite everything else, Toshi had a slight fear of heights or rather falling from high places, so she made sure she was well balanced by keeping the equilibrium lowered. She sneezed suddenly as she stirred up some dust on her search.

((uh... The shop's attic based off the attic over my parent's house. There are no floors, just exposed beams over drywall. This type of attic is the only attic I've ever seen so if that's not what a "true attic" is then I obviously grew up a freak then. You thought either THIS or THIS. I thought THIS. And I've never known a log cabin to have an attic at all... and I don't know what you meant by a "log cabin type setting" unless you were talking about exposed roof trusses inside the house, above the second floor or something. To be honest I have absolutely no idea where you got the idea that a log cabin had an attic in it. Could be that we just grew up in two completely different ways. I'll respond to the RP tomorrow when I'm refreshed.))

Damien barked in suprise and licked the little creature, it looked just like the friend that he had been playing with earlier, but smelled a little different. Barking at it and trying to get it to play, he was rather suprised when its paw stratched his little nose. Crying out in alarm Damien ran crying all the way back down the stairs as fast as he could. Suddenly he came to a halt. There was his little friend again, wagging his little tail. Damien was much more cautious about his new friend on account of how his nose got scratched, but when the pup turned around and playfully ran off for a game of tag, Damien could not help but follow, barking all the while.

(Um.. I didn't mean to offend you at all with the question. Indeed, we did grow up with different ideas of an attic. I apologize. Yes, exposed roof trusses is what I was getting at, but looking at your pictures, I realize that's not quite right either... Sorry sweatdrop )

((If you think that comment was snippy, you should have seen the "not nice" one. I'm not mean or intending to sound irritated, my words just always end up sounding like that.))
Cypress watched the black and white pup run off with the White Sidhekynd. Guava was only a few steps behind. "Harl, could you chase after those three and make sure that white one stays out of the walls? And take that green kitten with you on your way down, I gotta close up the attic and I can't leave any Whimsicals to get stuck up here." Cypress set Helio to chase out the last of the Whimsicals before coming down the ladder a few steps before jumping down the last of them and closing the door up behind her. "There was a Whimsie in the water pipes before. I think we might be able to catch another one out if we clear out the pipes in the basement." Cypress lead the way down to the base of the stairs and opened up the trapdoor before starting down the basement ladder herself, Heliotrope darting down the Whimsical ramp next to her.

((lol me too....Im not a mean person I swear, I just always seem to come off that way.....maybe its the flame hair.))
Unfortunately running into a wall is just what happened when Damien got too close to the little kynd that then ran through the wall. With a befuzzled look, his head swam around and around. Meanwhile, the kynd's head looked back through the wall and stuck its tongue out at damien. Getting somewhat irritated he walked into the wall slowly but to no avail. Turning around and running in circles he barked madly. Growling a little grrr..... he sounded more like a toy train than a puppy, and he didn't think the kynd was scared when it kept making faces at him.

Kesmi *Cosmos stopped and plopped on the ground before looking back at the 'pest' that happened to be following him out the door. What did she want now? Was't it enough that she shamed his image by hanging around him? Of course not, the thick headed female... What was her name again? No matter, she seemed to stick to him like a fly to raw meat.*
"What is it that you want?" he asked mildly, trying not to sound impatient to get away from the others, even though the youngest of the 'group', his 'group' was with the large mob. "Please tell me that you are NOT going to be following me everywhere I go.." He droned looking at her with level eyes. Junsei plopped in front of him and frowned. "Why do you think I would follow you? Your being so mean, why should I in the first place.." She asked him. Feeling a bad atmospheres around her and just wanted to walk away from him, but it doesn't mean he is going to follow her.. He is mean and heartless and cares for only himself. Heck, he barely cared for his own self, but it didn't matter, she wanted to change his ways, at least just a little so he can stop being SO mean.
