Oh, I see... I didn't know that was the thing, he-he. mrgreen
Could an example of that be the lifestyle of a double agent? Hmm, maybe not...

DM_Melkhar hypnocrown Call me an ignoramous but I am not familiar with the law fence either. sweatdrop I wish I could be of help to you there... *Sigh* It's a turn of phrase.
You're either on the right side of the law or the wrong side.
What happens when you've got a lot of people who are on the right side of the law, and then something happens that puts you on the wrong side of it, followed by ending up in the same place the people you once knew are who are still on the right side?I'm confused. You say your man is a pirate - then you say in earlier posts that he's employed by the Navy? If something puts him on the wrong side of the law and the Navy thinks he's still good enough, can't he be a privateer? Privateer's roles were similar to Pirates, but their actions were legal as long as they didn't attack ships from their own country. I assume you know this already, I was just wondering because I am confused wink

I think we should PM Mel about this. She might be too busy with things IRL so that's why she hasn't been here much.

I assume you know this already, I was just wondering because I am confused wink His family has a naval history. I believe I said his father was in the navy and that his grandfather was. His family were all killed by smugglers, and then he was rescued by pirates who took the ship with them. I cannot say too much without telling you the whole story and I'm protective over my work as I've mentioned before.
Hypno: Regarding not being here, nobody's posting anything or if they do it's nothing really worth replying to, and since the 21st August I had mentioned before that I was away sailing.

Well, she hasn't posted in a while... Can we continue the discussion regardless?

No, it seems a lot of people are too busy these days. BTW, what discussion? You mean about this: DM_Melkhar I also have something else to ask, and it IS a little complicated... It has something BIG to do with my pirate, and I think it'll be best described in points.
1.) LS is the son of a naval commander/admiral.
2.) His family live in the main naval port of this particular country, and they live in a stately home (in other words a mansion, something like this - http://www.gardenvisit.com/assets/madge/somerleyton_hall_garden1/original/somerleyton_hall_garden1_original.jpg). By the way, there are a lot of these kinds of houses in Norfolk where I live, Somerleyton is one of them, and there are also many more of them across the UK as well.
3.) The 90 gun naval ship he owns was actually designed by his grandfather, so his family hold rights to it (but he is the only surviving member of his family after a tragedy occurred whilst he was still a child).
4.) A storm occurs near his hometown, and a few parts of the ship are damaged, forcing him to make port there even though he doesn't want to for several reasons.
---------------------------------------------
Now, there are those in the navy who either acknowledge him, are neutral, or hate him for turning pirate. They're within the law and he isn't any longer.
An admiral who was a good friend of his father's wants to help him and a few others have sentimental feelings as well. He's given around 24-48 hours to get the repairs done and to leave again lest there be a great deal of trouble with the naval officials who are against him.
What I want to know is, how can I allow him to do the necessities such as visiting the memorial of his family in the cemetery, and then get away? His ship is both his father's/grandfather's and the navy's. This is a naval port and as most of the officials knew his father, they're torn (except for a couple of high ranking arseholes). So, I'm confused here and wondered how I could work this idea and still have clarity.

Well, as that was the question I posted quite some time ago that nobody's tried to help me answer, then yes. Also, the topic can also go a lot further than my own questions.

Understood! It seems I've not thought about many things just yet and it must be why I really haven't wondered about gaining clarity myself. If I do come up with some questions, I'll come back and post. Let's hope someone can come and help you out as well. 3nodding
