Sephonica namida_no_chi koko wa doko PrivateLeesh I'm not here to b***h too much but still let me tell you what I think: I may not be Asian but it's not like I could choose which family to be born into. Second to that I might not be into Diru too long but I took my precious little time to dig up everything about them on my own and thru online friends who've been listening to them for ages. Not once did they say "you're a scene kid". So please, if it's possible, don't associate me with them. I'm just kindly asking you guys. I never claimed to be No.1. fan either. Two things that really bother me are: "No.1. fans" and those people who think a certian member is only their to admire. But yeah, n00bs are everywhere...I met many people both in Hungary and abroad who thought Saku was Diru's first ever song and that there were no albums before WTD. stressed I don't think there ARE any number one fans. You're right, you can't choose what family you're born into, it's nobody's fault that they don't have the money to buy z0mg every thing any band's ever published, and no one belongs to anyone. If someone can a t least accept most of their music and don't bash any of the members ( >.> ), then I think they're a perfect fan. And I'm sorry if I've ever come off as "heey I r AZN I pwn all of j000 >D"They can not accept some of the music, but can't not accept any of the members? Yeah, there are people like that. confused Surface-deep fans. They really piss me off stressed Celebrating my 4-year-listening-to-Diru aniversary this month! 4laugh I said as long as they can *at least* ACCEPT MOST OF (if not all) THEIR MUSIC and *at least* NOT COMPLETELY TEAR APART THE MEMBERS, that they're good fans. gonk I'm not sure where anyone got "They can not accept some of the music, but can't not accept any of the members?" confused

Since March 11, 2007! The only reason I know this is because I went back into my iTunes store records (lol) Saku was one of the first songs I bought, which is weird because before, I hadn't listened to much except... J-pop, really. neutral
Wow... only a little more than half a year.... it seems like so much longer~!

KyotoPsycho holy s**t am i THAT old 7 years.......it all started when a gackt obsessed 12 year old found a link on a mizer page eek Haha..I started listening to Dir en Grey after buying my first J-Rock CD which was Gackt's Diabolo. It was a little too classical-y for my tastes so I looked up some stuff on Amazon and discovered Diru on someone's listimania. xP'' Kisou was the first song I ever heard from them and it absolutely haunted me...it's still my favorite song to date. :3
So I've been a fan for two years, personally I think it's not really about how long you've liked them but how much you know about them and their music that should delegate any kind of seniority complex. xD'' Although if you're actually a fan from Japan/Japanese you're kinda automatically a better fan because to an extent the language barrier effects how well a fan understands the bands message within each song.On a side note, this is my first post in the guild. n_n'' I've been lurking around here for AGES. >_>'' Hopefully this is the kind of guild where it's okay to just post randomly without introducing yourself and making a bunch of friends first. .__.''

You can't just disregard people. You can't just be like "Shinya, I REJECT you." Songs are *part* or the band and you don't have to listen a specific song that you don't like. But if you listen to pretty much any song by that band or if you see them live, you have to deal with EVERY member.

You can still like the music behind them, and block them out all together. On the same token, vocalists are just like part of the band that is thrown on top of the music, and I don't really think it has to be accepted in order to be a good fan. Seeing as the whole thing is supposed to be about the music, and I see voice in this case as optional (and in fact, some of the best music ever composed had no voice at all). 3nodding

The voice as used in music is counted as music. It's fine not to like Kyo's voice--my mom hates it... but she doesn't have a problem with him as a human being.

Hm, I think we've come to an understanding. Originally, I thought you meant that good fans shouldn't dislike anything about the members (like bash them in any way). Like that they have to be accepting of everything to do with them. xd But yes, I agree with you in that I don't think you have to like every musical aspect to be a good fan. As far as Kyo as a person goes, I don't really care one way or another. I don't hold that sort of thing against a band (same with political views and such) as a determining factor of whether or not I them. I sort of hate when people do that. For instance, people who like Diru's music, but suddenly become disinterested when they find out that Diru are "cross dressers". [/random]
