Vaughn shivered as the temperature inside the small, humble shop dropped as if it were sudden;y bathed in ice water. As a fire user, he wasn't particularly fond of the cold, something that was made even more annoying since he couldn't use his magic whenever he pleased like most other people. Vaughn rubbing his arms, trying to put some warmth back into them as slightly shifted his weight from foot to foot; he could see his breath.

For all the man's faults and pervertedness, Vaughn was silently thankful for the sudden warm summer's breeze that flooded the shop, blowing shalls and scarves off of hooks and playing enthusiastically with his long hair.

"Shall we go then?" Vaughn asked the boy. Something told him the the change in his voice was a warning sign and if the worst were to happen and the two men started to fight, he would lose his chance to get information. Or worse yet, have to blow his cover. "I know this lovely place just a street or two over." Vaughn took a step forward towards the door and the half-breed, hands clasped behind his back.

That was all the saving grace Calypso needed. He turned to the supposed woman, the mallice falling from his features like water dropplets from a leaf. He really looked very young and innocent when he smiled so sweetly like that. "Yes, let's," he replied, not sparing Hunter another glance; he did not wish to enrage himself further. The changes that Calypso underwent were quite drastic -- changes in mood that showed both the incredible oddity of his upbringing as well as his teetering stability; it could never be healthy to raise a child as Calypso had been raised and the ivory-haired teen was living proof.

He followed the woman out of the shop, leaving Hunter with a highly confused and more than slightly enraged shop keeper.

Hunter huffed, watching them leave. "Stuck up brat." He muttered and heard the tapping of an annoyed foot. He slowly looked around, seeing the shop owner, a very large man behind him, looking like he was going to gut Hunter. Hunter's ears lowered, Oh, he was in trouble... damn brat!

He smiled and gave a weak laugh before darting out of the shop with the shop keeper throwing pans and sharp objects after him, only his wind magic curving the path of each object so it didn't hit him.

Vaughn smiled and waited for the boy outside the store, long hiar spilling over one shoulder and hands folded behind his back before walking down the road. The little tea shop was barely ten minutes away, hidden on a side street, perhaps one of the best kept secrets in all of Lapis. Well, that was Vaughn's opinion at least.

"I swear," he said, skipping a few paces ahead of the white-haired boy, pausing for a moment to add over his shoulder, "they serve the best green tea in the entire capitol." He smiled, laughing sweetly under his breath as he turned back around and taking the lead.

The tea shop was just around the corner - nothing fancy, just a small, quiet little haven for those in the know to come and take a load off. The front of the store was virtually indistinguishable from the street outside and was covered by a wooden canopy, decorated with hangings made of blue cloth. Several small wooden benches and tables stood just within the shade of the canopy and all the way to the back of the shop where the middle-aged woman owner emerged from the back room with a tray of hot tea and sweet bread.

Vaughn took a seat at one of the empty benches near the front of the shop; there were only a handful of other customers, but he liked being able to see the street, which is why he sat facing it.

"Thank you, by the way," Vaughn said to the boy after ordering the shop's specialty blend tea with two cups. "If you hadn't stepped in back there and taken care of that pervert, I don't know what I would have done. I'm not normally so aggressive, y'know?"

Vaughn wasn't really lying either. Bad things happen when he lost his temper so, he usually did his best to keep himself under control. Of course, sometimes drastic circumstances called for drastic measures.

Hunter shuffled off, in a somber mood. Well, that's what his perverse nature got him into, but really, he didn't think it was such a big deal. Just a little feel. Hell, he wouldn't mind if someone felt him up. He paused while walking. Yeah, he wouldn't mind, and he resumed walking.

He ended up at the Earth House main hang out and sighed. He could hang out and see if anyone was there, even if it wasn't his usual haunt. It was the last time he was going to follow an nonreactive teenager with ice powers, he swore.

He walked into the building, wondering if they had good ale

((Sorry for taking so long with this. I was eating dinner. 8D;; Also, I have some papers due on Thursday and Monday, so I will probably be a bit scarce for a while. 8D;; ))

Observant, dark eyes studied the tea shop closely, carefully noting just about everything there was there to see, though he did so very inconspicuously. He really didn't want to be ambushed or anything of the sort for, though he suspected nothing from the psuedo-woman, such occurences had been often known to happen around the ivory-haired teen. It was now common protocol for him to check his surroundings thuroughly without seeming to be examining them -- it was a neccessity if he wished to remain alive.

Calypso smiled faintly and nodded at the other's proclamation of the tea shop's greatness. She really was quite fond of the place, wasn't she? And, Calypso noted as he entered after her, she had good reason. It was small, secluded.... there were relatively few people. It did seem to be a nice place; he only hoped the tea would be so good as she had announced, for he was rather particular about his tastes, though he seldomely voiced his complaints if ever.

He settled down in his seat across from the woman, pale fingers brushing back equally milky strands of hair behind on of his ears. It really had gotten rather long... not that he minded, of course, but it did occassionally bother him.

"You are quite welcome," he replied, a slightly subdued smile on his lips. When angered his eyes showed an intense coldness; when at peace, a surprising warmth. "I was finding it quite hard to restrain my anger... I do not really know the man but he seems one rather inclined to the cruder side of the line....."

[[I'm so sorry guys. Work has been keeping me really busy the past few days and I haven't been online long enough to reply. It's the weekend though, so I'll be good to roleplay. ^___^]]

"Really?" Vaughn asked, his tone dripping with surprised skepticism. He found it a little difficult to believe that the pervert and this kid hadn't known each other for more then a few minutes, especially after he saw how they argued - not quite old friends, but with enough history to know which buttons to push to piss the other off. On the flip side, however, the pervert certainly seemed like he knew how to antagonize people so, it could be possible this was their first meeting. Whatever the case it didn't help tame his curiosity; he wanted to know more about them, even if that meant getting within groping range of that perverted half-breed again.

"I kinda got the impression that you two had some history," he folded his arms on top of the table and rested some of his weight against them, leaning forward with what he hoped the other saw as innocent curiosity instead of an attempt to dig up some information. He smiled as he added in a light and playful voice, "You guys were fighting like you had something to prove. And I know it wasn't over little old me."

[[It's short, I know. I think I'm going to have Vaughn keep up this charade for a while too. Until he's given some other assignment, of course.]]

[^_^ Yay! We've missed you.]

Hunter sat at the bar, pondering what had happened that day. He wasn't his happy self, rather he was staring at a blank spot, his fingers trailing around the rim of his half empty ale glass. His fingers were to his chin, looking as though he was trying to figure out the mysteries of the universe. He wanted to know who that little ice element user was. He was strong, no doubt, cocky, cool. He wanted to find out more on him.

the House of Earth hang out was nothing spectacular; at the main hang out wasn't. He wasn't allowed to go into the very high ranking areas, he was ranked untrustworthy still since he was still new to the house. The bar was large, the lights dim, and the crowd scattered. Not much of the house came together until there was a meeting. The bartender was a rough looking woman, though quite lovely in her own way.

Hunter drank some of his ale, draining it quickly to get the bartender back over to him. She came back over and leaned over flirtatiously, pouring him more ale. He smiled back charmingly, not a hint of mischievous nature on his being. He would ask around on this man that smelled of water and blood and could freeze you in your place.

((Yes, welcome back. As for myself, I have been out sick.... it really sucks. I'm feeling better now, though... Only problem is that I have a huge essay due Monday, as well as critique in art on a piece that will likely take me another twelve hours (at least) to finish, some history homework, and other stuff.... Really, it's all quite fun (not). 8D;;;;; So yeah, if I vanish, that's why.))

Calypso smiled back, but there was something decidedly less pleasant about his smile. He didn't seem at all happy that the other thought he had known the man -- common riff-raf as far as he was concerned -- for more than the scant amount of time that they had interacted. However, his dark eyes never wavered from the other's face. Calypso had strong, deep eyes. He wasn't the type to flinch or to lower his gaze -- he had too much pride, too much training, and too much tenacity. He could never bow down to anyone save his brother.

"No. Fortunately I do not even know his name. All the history we have is that he earlier tried to prove a rather idiotic prank on me. It's really not something I think magic should be used for, but apparently we have different values." Calypso neither leaned forward nor sat back -- he remained back straight, hands folded gently in his lap; in other words, he always maintained perfect posture. Whoever had raised him had undoubtedly laid strain upon manners, accounting both for his speech, manerisms and the way he held himself. He was so refined it was almost as if one was looking at a prince. Really, he was very different from Hunter in just about every way possible.

"But I really do not think either of us had much to prove..." he continued after a moment's pause. "I simply do not agree with his way of going about things, nor do I much approve of his manners."

((Oh yes, and if either Hunter gives a simple physical description of Calypso, it should be easy enough for either to get the enformation he needs. Calypso, as the second in command of the House of Dragon as well as the fearsome head assasin, is quite well known. And his brother looks next to nothing like him so there won't be a problem there. 8D;;;; Of course, only those of rank would know much of Calypso as it is classified information.... >>;;

[EDIT]

And I shall have Alex comming in soon. He is from Pheonix. :3

[EDITx2]
I set up my art thread... Check it out. If you dare. 8D;;; ))

"I'm sure you're not the only one who feels that way," Vaughn replied, smile never faltering; judging by "her" expression, passers-by must think they were having a normal, friendly conversation, which was what he wanted. Normal people having normal little discussions even in a quiet little tea shop out of the publics' eye, commonly went unnoticed, forgotten as quickly as the time it took for a person to turn their heads as they walked by.

"But, I suppose not everyone receives the best upbringing," Vaughn added, raising one of his hands from the table so that he could rest his chin on his palm. Despite what people said about him - well, the few people who knew him best, he wasn't as unobservant as he let on. The way this kid spoke - proper, well-educated, calculated down to the last detail - and behaved, these weren't qualities somebody just picked up anywhere. They were ingrained into someone from a very early age; their surroundings demanded it from them.

'He's not only a kid,' Vaughn thought as their conversation was momentarily interrupted by the owner as she stopped at their table, 'but a rich one at that.' He leaned back as the woman set the tray down, but placed a gentle hand on her forearm when she moved to prepare the tea; if he was suppose to be the courteous, sweet, innocent damsel in distress, the least he could do to keep up the charade was serve the kid a cup of tea, right? Besides, he had been here more then enough times to know exactly how to do it. Of course, he had never been here before in this particular disguise, but he could lie he way through that particular problem if either the owner or the boy decided to ask questions.

As he politely dismissed the owner, letting her leave their table with a slightly confused expression on her face, Vaughn's mind raced. 'Probably born with a silver spoon in his mouth,' he thought, a faint bitter taste on his tongue. It wasn't like he had anything against the kid personally, he didn't even know his name, but Vaughn had always had a thing for people who grew up with everything and selfishly kept it while everyone else around them had nothing. He was probably over-thinking again, making problems where there really was nothing wrong to begin with, but he couldn't help the faint spark of anger that ignited in his chest.

He smiled at the boy as he tipped the one of the small paper packages, spilling the herbs and spices of the shops' special blend into each of their cups. The tea pot was filled with freshly boiled water and for a normal person the glass would be too hot to touch, but Vaughn never had had to worry about such things. His magical affinity to fire granted him an immunity to heat, most of the time anyway. The handle of the tea pot felt pleasantly warm against his hand as he lifted it off the tray, using two fingers of his other hand to secure the lid stay in place. He poured water into each of the cups, filling them nearly to the brim, before putting a lid on them so that they could brew properly for a few minutes.

"So, you never did tell me your name," Vaughn said as he returned the pot to the tray, "but if you feel weird introducing yourself to me that's okay. I haven't exactly been very giving in the way of information either." There was more truth behind those words then he was willing to admit and in most other situations Vaughn wouldn't have bothered giving his target an introduction at all, but this boy was very... proper. Maybe he could use that against him.

"My name's Celia. There. We're not total strangers anymore."

Vaughn didn't know much about the upper-class, but wasn't it in good form to give your name after someone else has given you theirs? Of course, the name he had given was fake, something that just popped into his head, and it was only a first name ( family names' were too easy to trace ), but he hoped it was enough to appeal to the boy's strong sense of manners.
