Chapter 3: Head Over Heels For Gerard

“Steph….why are you staring at Gerard?”, I ask her trying to hold my rage in. “What you know him?”, she asks excitedly. “Of coarse he’s my brother.” I say. “Hey is?? Why didn’t you tell me?”, she screams at me. “I did but you were to busy staring at him!”, I yell.

“Why were you doing that anyway?” Steph looks at me with a guilty face like a puppy that just went to the bathroom on the carpet. “Well….I….sorta….kinda….like him…”, she says quietly. “Like him?”, I say. “Ok, I love him!

I’m obsessed with him!! I love him more than anything!!”, she confesses. “Wow!”, I say. That much information hasn’t been put into my head since government testing. “Hey! I’ve got an idea!”, Steph says. “You can introduce me to Gerard!”, she says.

“Steph, I’m not going to do that!”, I tell her. “Why not?” she complains. “Because, this is only my first day being Gerard’s sister. And I want to get to know him a little more before you do.” I yell at her. “Fine!!!!”, she leaves the lunchroom.

Great, first day of school and I already made an enemy. As I walk off the bus I hear a someone scream my name. I turn around and I see a wavy, haired girl chasing me as I approach my house. What a shock it was Steph. She finally caught up to me.

“What do you want?”, I say to her grumpily. “Listen, Ami. I’m sorry. I just really love Gerard and sometimes I get a little to obsessed, and I shouldn’t have used you like that, and I’ve never really had a real friend before. So I’m sorry, I’m really sorry!!”, she says very fast.

“It’s ok, its ok, calm down,” I tell her. “It’s all because of Gerard’s evil love spell he put on me!”, she jokes. I laugh. “Only if it worked for me! No, I’m kidding.”, I joked. I hugged Steph and I felt all her nerves go to sleep. “Listen, I think Gerard is home now.

I could introduce him if you want…”, I tell her sounding intimidating. “Are…are you sure?”, she asks. I nod. She squeals and I take her into my house. “Hey Ami, who’s this?”, Mrs. Way asks. “This is my new friend Steph! I’m gunna introduce her to Gerard.” I tell her.

“Ok, you want me to make you guys some snacks?” she asks. “Sure! Thanks Mom!” My “Mom’s” heart pauses to in hale this moment when I actually called her mom. I guess it was just in the moment. I took Miss Stephy to Gerard’s room. I knocked.

A voice comes out, “Yes? Who is it?”. “It’s me, Ami. I want to introduce you to someone!”, I say. “Ok, come in!”, he says. I open the door while steph is following behind me. “This is my friend Steph”, I say. ‘Oh, nice to meet you Steph, I think I have seen you around school.”, he puts his hand out.

“Um…hi”, Steph says very shyly and shakes his hand. I walk around Gerard’s room and find what he was working on before me and Steph walked in. It was a drawing. A drawing of a vampire. “Wow, this is really good!”, I say. “Oh, thanks.” Gerard says flattered.

“Steph! Your mom is here!”, my mom yells. “Oh, bye Ami!” I wave and leave Gerard’s room. I bump into Mikey on the stairs. “Oh hey Mikey!”, I say. He walks right by me and doesn’t say a word. I walk down stairs to where my mom is.

“Hey Mom? Why doesn’t Mikey like me?”, I ask awkwardly. “Huh? Oh honey. He is just shy. He doesn’t make friends easily and he kinda gets bullied at school.”, she says. I’m very sad for Mikey, but I realize what I must do now to those so-called “bullies’ at school…
