Dork_Iruka_Ninja EmoKittie999 I hate Sasuke so freaking much... talk2hand He's such a whiny emo b*****d! Well, so is Gaara, but he's much better! He reforms, unlike Mr. Winy Emo-Pants! And, just for referance, Itachi commited mass-parricide, not clan slaughter. I mean, if you looked up parricide in wikipedia, he'd be, like, BAM! Right there. Actually... He is. Seriously, no joke! I was looking it up, and, like... Lol. But, anyway... I can't put my finger on it, but Sasuke, for some reason, is my least favorite, most hated character. Unless he's in a yaoi. Yeah. A yaoi. biggrin I don't trust that websie. Anybody can write it. I could go on it and say that Itachi never killed his family. All he did was reliese baboons with rainbow butts wild into the Uchiha estate and they all died from monkey bites.Um... That would be kinda cool.

You can't really gauge the sadness of a person. Though we might find some of the pasts more sad in our eyes, we haven't lived them. To each his own. Sasuke does have a point. Naruto can't possibly know what it's like to have lived with the people you cared for your whole life and have them all whiped out by the person you not only looked up to, but your BROTHER. And it's not like Sasuke hated his brother either. He may have been jealous at times, it's hard not to be. Especially when he lived in his brother's shadow. But he did love him despite that. So to say that Sasuke's being "overly dramatic" or "emo" is kinda harsh. Also to say that he's being put on a pedistal isn't exactly true. I think of it as a harsh reminder. He's only favored by the townspeople because of his eyes and skill, not for his personality. Possibly out of pity.
Even with the girls that liked him, it was only for his looks and his "mysterious", dark and secretive attitude. Early on in the series, Sakura mouthed off that because Naruto had no parents, he acted like an idiot due to lack of dicipline. And Sasuke got angry. If she knew ANYTHING in the YEARS of having Sasuke as a fellow student, she wouldn't have said it. All the girls thought Sasuke liked girls with long hair. But how likely is it that he would even answer such a question? It HAD to be speculation on their part, as he's shown no interest towards anyone with long hair. Not even in recent chapters. My point (yeah I had one...) is that not many people really bothered to ask him about who he is or try to treat him like a normal person. Except Naruto. Hence the "best friend" status.
Now does all that give him the right to act arrogant and coldhearted. No. But it's understandable. Out of all the people with tragic pasts, no one is 100% correct morally in that they did. It wasn't right for Neji to hate Hinata for something she had no control over or say that Lee would always be a loser because of his lack of ninjutsu due to his belief that fate is already predestined. It wasn't right for Gaara to KILL people because they feared or loathed him. As for Naruto, I'm not gonna say it was wrong for him to pull pranks, since no one got hurt, but it probably didn't help his already tarnished image. They all had their own reasoning be it for attention, self-worth or revenge. And in the end, they either grew out of it, or had sense knocked into them by Naruto. Sasuke is just a late bloomer. REALLY late.
When I first started reading/watching the series, I didn't like or hate him, he was just there to me. I didn't see what was so attractive about him at all. He seemed annoying to be around. As the series progressed, I couldn't imagine the team without him. He wasn't my favorite, but I readily accepted him.
When he left, I was sad, pissed and felt bad. Sad because he threw away all the bonds he had made, especially with Naruto, whom he said was his best friend. Pissed because instead of asking for help within Konoha's borders, he choose to seek out the creepiest guy ever, who was after his body. And I felt bad because you find out more in depth about what happened to him. Plus he was slowly getting better until Itachi ruined it. If his brother hadn't come back for Naruto, things probably would have turned out slightly differently.
I had hope though, because he COULD have killed Naruto but he didn't.
I DO think he was stupid for leaving. Because now either he won't return or theres gonna be a tough situation with the law regarding the runaway ninja's of Konoha.
As for the recent chapters... I don't wanna spoil anything, but I like Sasuke. Sure, I still get pissed at the fact that he was impatient and left Konoha. ---->And how when he wouldn't accept the help of his friends, he readily accepted the help of various prisoners and associates of Orochimaru. But he IS stronger... And I hope he finally gets to kill Itachi.
On a side note, no one abused Naruto physically. Despite what's written in fanfiction, he was not raped or tortured. Nor is he secretly suicidal or emo. The townspeople are AFRAID and ANGRY. But not enough to envoke the rath of the Hokage's law. So what's the easiest way to hurt him? Pretend he's invisible during his accomplishments and berate him for his failures. That's why he craves attention. Getting abused in any other way would make him want to stay as far away from others as possible. Besides, Naruto isn't afraid to stand up for himslf when he needs to. He'd yell or punch someone out before crying about what they said. Give him some credit guys...

I said about the abuse with Naruto because of how the villagers treated him when there were others around. When people feel threatened they will go through the flight or fight mode. They will be agressive to the one they feel threatened or they will run away from the one that has brought the conflict. I am not even thinking of fanfictions where Naruto is all emo and angst. That over all is not Naruto. Yes, he can get a little upsetting, but he is able to turn that emotion into fule for him to prove his own worth. Many of those who have been in some sort of abuse will crave for attention, lock themselves away from sociaty in order to protect themselves from getting hurt, continue the deadly cycle, break the cicle of abuse, and or do a combonation of those. Naruto craves attention because of the lack of attention he had from childhood and perhapes tramatic esperiences. Again, we do not know what happened to any of them before the show. We meet Naruto when he is only 12 or 13 years old. I give him credet for being a strong surviver of the heardships he was forced to endore. In the show, Naruto is a symbol of overcoming difficulties life throws at anyone. He has proven that if we truely want to rewrite the stars of our own destiny, we can. He has proven that dreaming for the best is not a bad thing and that we can make ourselves that one in a million. Naruto just represents the innocence of humanity and the purity of a child's dream. And you will be surprized cause I do agree with you in most of the things. And explained a little more in detail of why I said the thing with Naruto. I have a feeling I might enjoy debating with you on this. I debated this particvular topic with a friend of mine and I made them speachless. So I hope that you will quyote me and we can have a fun and friendly debate.

So I hope that you will quyote me and we can have a fun and friendly debate. With the flight or fight comment, I believe Naruto would go for the fight option. Only because for him to choose to flight would be extremely contradictory to his personality. And not just his personality, but his actions through the whole series. To take the flight option would prove that he was not only weak, but suffered from severe low self esteem. For example, how he calls Jiraiya a pervert, or Tsunade an old lady. Even in his first fight with Zabuza, he was scared to death, but still had the guts to call him a freak and continue fighting. When he knocked Konohamaru upside the head when they first met, despite the fact he hit the Hokage's grandson. Especially when he was determined to bring Sasuke back. He never did or said any of those things to prove himself. It's naturally in his personality. It's just in his nature to treat people as PEOPLE. Jiraiya IS a pervert. Tsunade IS old. Sasuke was being retarded. He's just blunt and straight to the point, and doesn't take it back either. Which would not come easily to someone who was cowardly. He never backs down towards anything and it usually takes the urging of someone else for him to stop. Sure he may cry a lot, but it just proves that he's not accepting of the bad things that happen to people. ---> Like when he cried over Gaara. Everyone else just stood there like "Well, what's done is done. I'm sorry" while Naruto was like "What the hell?! Can't you see he's DEAD?!"<---Which is one of the many things I admire about him. About my earlier comment with fanfiction, it wasn't aimed directly to your comment, I should have made it more...specific. I just get sick of fanfiction that portray him in such a way. Especially him being uber uke. And about the abuse thing, all I'm saying is that we don't know a LOT of things about Naruto, or any character for that matter. We only see the either tramatizing parts or brief glimpses into their everyday life. No one can know for sure, except Kishimoto. Who is pretty unpredictable himself. I just believe don't believe Naruto was abused, by an adult anyway. Schoolyard scuffles don't count, seeing as how the other kids couldn't have posibly known, as they were forbidden to be told about it. But for the most part, from what we have seen, Naruto was pretty much ignored. Don't take it the wrong way, Naruto is my absolute favorite character in the series. I'm all for speculation, but I just don't agree with this one. I still stand by my earlier comment. Tayasotakoda The townspeople are AFRAID and ANGRY. But not enough to envoke the rath of the Hokage's law. So what's the easiest way to hurt him? Pretend he's invisible during his accomplishments and berate him for his failures. That's why he craves attention.

That's cool that you stand by your last post. There are parts of it that I agree, and parts of it that I don't. But because of the little information we do know about his past, we just don't know. Simple as that. I personally think that there had to be some bad guys in the village who would roughen the poor kid up and he simply uses his bad memories to prove that he is not the demon people call him and that he wants to be the best there ever was. For me, Naruto is the type of person who refuses to let life drag him down. And when it does, he works twice as hard to prove life wrong. As for the villagers, they still seem to do the fight or flight act with him in the beginning of the show. In the public eye, they would do the "flight" by ignoring him or simply talking bad about him behind his back. But for the "fight" I do not know, just like nobody knows. We were never told. For me, it just sounds logical because when it comes to things like this, there is always atleast one person who has to be a jerk-face and F it all up.
It just seems that this is just one of the forbidden things we are not allowed to know, like what Kakashi's face really looks like (not in the fluff comics of orgasmic bliss).

I wish Kishimoto would do a short manga on the childhood of Naruto. Kind of like Kakashi Gaiden. What I want to know is what happened right after Kyuubi's attack. I don't think every adult hated (or hates Naruto) Some, like Iruka or the Icharu Ramen Stall man (why can't I remember his name? crying ) support him (maybe they are respecting the 4th Hokage's wish that Naruto be treated like a hero?). Others, like Kakashi seem indifferent (although once Naruto's on Kakashi's team I can so see Kakashi beating up anyone who messed with Naruto). Still others (seemingly the majority) hate him. I wounder what the politics between these factions might have been like. (considering they are Ninja I bet it got dirty, and bloody. xd ) Alas, it seems I'm never going to find out.

You have a point. There ARE always people who disregard the rules and think they can get away with them. Care to agree to semi-disagree? Kitsune Kit Kaguya
I wish Kishimoto would do a short manga on the childhood of Naruto. Kind of like Kakashi Gaiden. What I want to know is what happened right after Kyuubi's attack. I don't think every adult hated (or hates Naruto) Some, like Iruka or the Icharu Ramen Stall man (why can't I remember his name? ) support him (maybe they are respecting the 4th Hokage's wish that Naruto be treated like a hero?). Others, like Kakashi seem indifferent (although once Naruto's on Kakashi's team I can so see Kakashi beating up anyone who messed with Naruto). Still others (seemingly the majority) hate him. I wounder what the politics between these factions might have been like. (considering they are Ninja I bet it got dirty, and bloody. ) Alas, it seems I'm never going to find out. I wondered about that as well. Very interesting. So many things to know!

I semi-agree with ya. I only wish that we knew more information about the caharacter's past. That way we can fully understand how each character ended up being the way they ended up. Like, why did Itachi kill his family? Was it something that had been pinted up in him or was it just a sick and twisted little whim? Was Naruto abused by the villages when nobody was watching? Do we realy understand the depth of Ino and Sakura's friendship before and after it ended? What really happened between Orochimaru and Sasuke? Just what exactly happen durring the time skip? Exactly how did Naruto's parents meet, seeing as he is the main character. Simple and complicated questions that seem to burn in the minds of fans. Some of these questions that need to be answered in order to understand the characters more are being left unanswered.
It just leaves us to just take a blind stab. Sometimes I just wish that the man just acted like J. K. R. give us some sort of info about the character, any character for that matter.
((And if you have no clue why I brought up the auther of Harry Potter, she announced that Dumbledore is a homosexual. I'm just bummed that people are going to think of him as the gay wizard instead of the good guy people came to love...))

I think the reason Itachi killed his clan is a mystery that won't be revealed untill the very end of the series, but I bet it will be revealed. It has to otherwise fans (like you and me xd ) wouldn't get that sensce of fulfillment that authors like to end their storys with. Well, most authors writing an epic type story anyway. I would argue that Naruto is in epic style. Naruto is a kid with something to prove, who never knew his parents, but finds out his father is important (those of you who've read that far know what I'm talking about, but I won't spoil it for others) and he has to save some one important to him (Sasuke). He even has a mentor (Jiraya). That worries me because usually the mentor dies in epic tales. I don't want Jiraya to die, he's made of awsome! crying
