"Uhhhh..." Minori's face turned pinker and gave a tentative grin. " I have no idea. Besides he did ask out a girl just because she was the only person her age he met. Although it turned out to be a weird date." She laughed, remembering what Takumi had told her.

Stifling a giggle, Mitsuko winked at her friend, clapping her hands together. "You see, you see!" Then, listening, Mitsuko frowned, before drooping. "What...what an interesting reason to ask a girl out..." She commented, with a sigh. 'Maybe I should have a talk with Takumi-kun.' She added mentally, shaking her head.
"But even so, this time Takumi-kun is surrounded by girls his age, who all have his status families, but he specificly asked you out, Minori-chan!"

The girl stuck her tongue out at the other as Rose wriggled out of her grasp and flounced around, seemingly bored by this conversation.
Then she laughed. "There's worse though. Back in Australia, some guys made it a joke, seeing how many girls they could date or something." She made a face. She was one of them, but it was lucky that she had discovered what the boys had been planning. "The girls taught them a lesson though." She added with a shrug.
"...Well." The girl sighed. "I'll have to see how it goes on the date then." Then she frowned. "Daddy's going to be quite protective about this. He's going on and on about me and boyfriends. I pity Takumi-kun." She laughed.

Listening to Minori intently, Mitsuko covered her mouth to stifle a giggle as she spoke. "What mean guys! I'm glad to hear that you girls set them straight though!" She chirped, grinning. It would certainly have been rather cruel if they guys had gone through with their plan. Dating as many girls as they could, that is. Certainly a lot of people would be upset...and the guys probably wouldn't have gotten out of the situation alive.
Tilting her head to the side, Mitsuko frowned thoughtfully. "Your father is going on about boyfriends? In what way? Encouraging you to find a good, caring boyfriend, or disencouraging you from finding one at all?" She then smiled, leaning forward to pat Minori's shoulder. "Takumi-kun is a nice guy though - I'm sure it'll be fine!"

"Yeah, I know." She responded with a grin at the memory. "I do hope he doesn't get to have a Father's Day though." It was obvious how the girls had gotten their revenge.
"Welll...." The girl hesitated for a moment. "Finding a boyfriend, and bringing him home, so he can interrogat...I mean, see if they're right for me. Yeah, well, Takumi is nice...but my dad's strict. He's overly protective of me."

Slapping a hand over her mouth abruptly, Mitsuko attempted to stifle giggles, however her bright, green eyes did the laughing for her. "Well," She said, once she had gotten herself under control, "Better that they learn now than later though?" She pointed out, grinning.
Tilting her head to the side, she chewed on her bottom lip thoughtfully before speaking. "Well...maybe you should invite Takumi-kun over to your house sometime, and introduce him as a friend? Or invite other people too, and try to make it as casual as possible? Then your father can get to know what a nice guy Takumi-kun is, and the boyfriend thing might go smoother."

"Mmhmm." The brunette agreed, the smirk dancing across her pretty features as she recalled the look on his face, rocking back and forth on her bottom.
"Ummmm..." The girl's voice trailed off, her eyelids lowering as she stared at the floor, biting her lip hesitantly. "The problem is...daddy cares because um... I'm...engaged." She stammered the sentence out, and the words became softer, until the last word which came out as a soft whisper.

"I suppose we won't have to worry about something like that at Ouran," Mitsuko commented, thoughtfully, "The students here are all very..." She trailed off abruptly. Though she had begun to say 'obedient', it didn't seem like the right term. Obedient made them sound like dogs - like those who bent to the will of their parents. Though...that was kind of how it was, wasn't it?
Minori's next words stunned Mitsuko. Eyes wide, she glanced at her friend silently for a moment, confirming that this wasn't a joke. When she realized it wasn't, the girl leaned forward, concerned. "You're...engaged?" She repeated, her voice considerably softer than it had been before. "When did this...who are you engaged..." Quite a few questions were trying to spill from her mouth, though the main one remained in her head: This marriage hadn't been of her own will, had it?

Minori gave a small shrug. "I guess not. Everyone's so...refined here." Then she grinned rather sheepishly. "You know, with all the times you've been told by your parents to act like a lady or a gentleman."
A embarrassed blush spread across her cheeks as she scooped up Sage in her arms, hugging the rabbit and stroking it's soft fur to calm her nerves. Even talking about it now got her on edge. "My parents...and Kiyoshi's parents. You know...the fashion industry stuff." She bit her lip, looking slightly angry. Both sides had refused to relent, saying that it was a promise to be kept.

Rubbing the back of her head, Mitsuko offered her friend a rather sheepish smile. "Well...-I'm- not refined, really," She pointed out, laughing, "Though I have been told very often to act like a lady. It just doesn't stick, I suppose!"
Reaching towards Minori, Mitsuko pat her on the shoulder, her voice still a lot softer and more gentle. "Aah, I see." Of course - even she could see that it had to do with companies and allies. Smiling softly, she tilted her head, "How does Kiyoshi-kun feel about this? Does he share the same thoughts as you do about this marriage?"

Minori gave Mitsuko a sweet grin. "Well, you are, kinda. Growing up in a rich family does have it's influence. Besides my mom is always saying she'll kill me if I ever do something rude in a party or gathering."
"Yeah, he does." The girl said after a slow pause, stroking Marie's fur. "We are trying to get out of it...but I really don't see how."

"My parents say the same thing," Mitsuko made a face, "But I can't help it. I don't like acting cold or distant - I like to be my sunny self. Besides, sometimes I manage to earn a smile from even the coldest person when I'm like this - it makes me happy. I just want people to act natually around me, is all."
"At least he's on your side," She pointed out, before frowning, "I suppose with time there's the possibility of something forming between you two...but that's not always true, is it? And it's usually best to let yourself fall in love, without anyone forcing you into something..."

"It's all too formal, isn't it?" Minori sighed, glancing towards her friend. "Making people happy is nice." She agreed, a faint smile playing on her face.
Her fists clenched slowly, frowning as well. "I think the most I can be with Kiyoshi are just friends. Or...like god-siblings." Maybe it was the fact that she liked Takumi that she was acting this stubborn.

"Too formal, yup." The girl nodded, happy that her friend agreed. "It is, isn't it? If I see a sad person, it makes me sad too. So I just want to help 'em smile and be happy."
"Ah," She nodded slowly, "This...certainly is a big problem, hm?" The girl frowned seriously, shaking her head. Sometimes - or most of the time, really - it felt as if they were being controlled. Rarely any free will.

"You certainly like doing that, Tsuko-chan." The brunette grinned, flopping down on the soft carpet, staring up at the ceiling. "And you're good at it."
"Yeah." The girl took a deep breath and exhaled it in a sigh. "Do you think I can make my parents stop this?" She turned her brown eyes to Mitsuko, the edges brimming with tears. It wasn't fair.
