Ignacio gave this concept a moment of thought and then shook his head slowly. "Nah, I don't think so. I kinda wish she was. She's cool. I dunno if Dad is in love with anyone. He doesn't really know that many girls." He cast Antony a sympathetic look. "Which sucks but it's better than lovin' someone who hates you, I guess."

Antony shrugged. "Love doesn't make sense to me, actually," he admitted. "I mean, I like my father well enough, and my uncle, and Callisto. But being obsessed with someone like that? Too much trouble."

"Maybe. Don't know." Ignacio spread a bit more paint up the side of the window thoughtfully. "Anyway, I'm not in love and I'm not worried about it. I mean, what's the big deal?"

"Exactly," Antony agreed, grateful he wasn't the only one that felt that way. "You know..." he said as he realized something stupid. "I should have just asked Uncle Jack to make the room this color when he made it."

Antony choked, then started to laugh, unable to help himself. "That's so true!" he said, far more mirthful than he usually would have been.
The paint fumes were probably getting to him.

"Anyway," continued Ignacio as he busily applied more blue to the walls and, luckily, only got small amounts on himself, "you should know how to do this stuff yourself. Probably. Dad says there's lots of stuff that you might as well learn."
