Relief flooded through him. She was okay. Muscles unwound in his chest and forelegs and that slow, gentle smile made its way onto his face. Kimondo meant everything to him and the thought of losing her was worse than anything else he could imagine.

He purred as she moved over to greet him an lowered his head to nudge her head with his nose. He was about to ask where she had gone off to when Aushi spoke and he looked up. It seemed this female loved cubs, that was always a good sign of a female's heart. In fact, she'd probably be an excellent role model for Kimondo if his little one wanted to go on this journey.

He'd always worried what not having a mother might do to his daughter. After all, he had grown up without a father and had...well...not started off in life too good. Even a couple of weeks with an adult female around might help set Kimondo off on a good start in life. Besides, he was always aware that he was a little too protective, and that wasn't really fair. He had done so much as a juvenile and to keep Kimondo back from life seemed a little...unfair.

"This is my new..." What word should he use? He was wary of friend but also aware he might hurt Aushi's feelings if he said, aquaintence. So, he decided to swallow back his fear and say it. "New friend." Hey it wasn't that bad after all. Maybe having a friend wouldn't be so horrible as he had thought.

"We came back to find you but you weren't here. Were you getting into mischief again." He laughed, to show he wasn't angry and gave her a gentle cuff across the ear.

Kimondo looked at Aushi and smiled. "Kimondo'Arista, but you can call me Kimondo like father does. It's nice to meet you! I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." The tip of her tail flicked slightly as she spoked before her attention was pulled from the brown femme back to her father.

As much as her father wished to hide stuff from her, Kimondo had been with him for far too long not to notice the internal struggles he has. Hakan may have thought that all his feelings were hidden from his daughter, but Kimondo learned to read her father well and knew when he was unsure or troubling over things and this one time didn't go unnoticed. It was a minor debate, nothing serious or anything, but Kimondo could see him tripping over a title to give this lioness but as the word slipped from his maw it seemed that he could agree with what he had chosen and that lightened the young females heart. It was rare when father found anyone to talk to and this occasion was an odd one considering he had even brought her back to the den. Usually keeping his life private and secure was more her father's style.

"I swer I wasn't un to any trouble. I just wanted to explore a bit." She girinned and looked towards the oddly shaped rock. "That place over there looked interesting so I thought's I'd go see what it looked like up close. I didn't get very far though." She gave her father an accusing yet teasing look.

Aushi was quite thrilled when Kimondo was friendly with her. She watched the interaction between the two and just giggled slightly.

Oh? Had she gone into the pridelands? Aushi let her gaze slip to the huge rock, also curious about it but not wanting to head toward it. Would her father be happy with that?

She eyed the large male and her head tilted as she thought to herself, not sure what to say. She could wait until... either she left on her own or they left together.

There was pride in every line of Hakan's face. There was nothing he could do to hide that even if he had wanted to. Kimondo had all the qualities in a daughter that he could ever ask for.

If anyone could read Hakan's thoughts it was his daughter. The two shared a greater bond than most parent and child relationships. Maybe it's because their personalities were so similar. He remembered the first time he had had a proper conversation with her, the determination to protect her family. She reminded him so much of himself.

"You don't want to go over there anyway." Hakan replied. "Pridelanders are nothing but trouble, haven't I warned you about them?" His voice had lots its cheerful edge but his eyes still sparkled. "Anyway, Aushi and I have a far better offer than that. How would you like to go on a trip. Aushi is going on a journey and I said we'd go along if you agreed." He flicked his tail and glanced towards the elder female.

"But we would have to go see your grandmother first." The thought of Kinja pulled at his heart strings. He had neglected her and he hated himself for it. What would she say when she learned the truth? That he'd been so afraid of facing the fact that one day she'd be gone that he couldn't bare to look at her. It hurt him to see her weakening, to realise that no matter how strong he got he couldn't stop the ticking of time. It wasn't fair. His mother deserved to life forever. Why should suich a sweet lioness ever have to suffer death?

"She'd appreciate a goodbye." He whispered. He didn't tell Aushi just yet, but she would be welcome to come with them to Kinja's den.

(( Kolie - once the three decide they want to go to the jungle, we can start that RP with Kinja if you like? That way you can have her free for plots in the Chinese pride <3 ))
