Lailia covered a smile at Tristan's chivalry and antics. She thought for a minute and then turned to the guard.

"Let him in. I'll take him to Ojama," she ordered. What harm could he do? And if he did cause harm, all the better for the Scales. Lailia was notoriously curious. She often heard or saw things she wasn't meant to. Or in this case, broke the rules.

((Sorry, I've been away all weekend, and will be again next weekend. I'll try to post tonight or tomorrow though, but no promises, I have a lot of pre-thanksgiving homework sweatdrop ))

[ I'm still here..>>; ]

Shouldering his pack, Tristan gave a smug grin to the guard, but then he realized that quarelling with the guard must have caused him to waste more time than he should have. Hopefully that man will still talk with him.

Bowing again towards Lailia, in the most gentlemen-like as he possibly could, Tristan said, "After you, my lady." He then turned to the guard. "I think you might want to read up on the occupants you are guarding." Unless you're just being an a** hole, he added in his thoughts.

"Thank you," Lailia said to Tristan. "It's so nice to see you by the way." She shot the guard a look after this, then quickly led the young man across the grass.

"So, who are you and why are you here? And more importantly, who is this Ojama?" she asked. "I've never heard of him."

Quite some time had passed since the noble and peasant dined together, odd site for all the nobles to view. An even more odd event taking place... Swoosh! A small object was now seen rocketing into the air... a moment would pass and... BOOM! "AH!" The girl would make in an excited and joyful tone. Kino would chuckle lightly to himself before holding a firecracker rocket in front of him, stating, "You see these are called firecrackers, an engenious invention of an alchemist I met." In Kino's other hand he'd hold a stick that was on fire, almost like a miniature version of a torch. "Simply light these, and move away." Kino then ignited another one, re-enacting these events several times, causing the skies to light up with colors of all sorts. Yet again, this caused nobles to look at the strange pair in an odd manner, who wouldn't? After all, a noble and peasant were lighting things that blew up with colors in the sky!

He was a little surprised at the sudden quickness she was leading, Tristan had to run slightly to catch up. He didn't mind it, though. He was finally going to get his interview. Now that he thought about it, his story really wasn't worth all this trouble, but now that there was a young lady involved, who could blame him?

At her questions, however, it seemed a machete was jabbed into his stomach. She's never heard of Ojama either! Clearing his throat, and regaining his composure, again, he sighed.

"I'm a reporter, who was sent a letter the other day by a man named Ojama, who claimed to live up here in the castle," he said, his spirits lowered immensely to the news of no Ojama. "My name is Tristan Amores, and now I'm really starting to doubt whether I should just quit at life because of Ojama. He's somehow managed to make my life hell in the past hour, and he, obviously, doesn't exist."

OOC: Does anyone know where Celestial Lullaby has gone? It's just that my poor character is sort of trapped unless she posts at some point sweatdrop

((Sorry, I said I was gone for thanksgiving. I am back though, and I will post.))

Triandra glanced backwards at the lady, and then rolled her eyes. What a lame attempt at a comeback. "The bloodbath at Malorie's peak, The enchantress's war, the forest of those who go unnamed. All places or events that were made by humans for the sake of evil. Millions of people were slaughtered at the peak over an argument over a seating plan. That was the original excuse, in reality, the two kings were simply bloodthirsty. Or the enchantress, she wanted to watch two men go at each other because she liked to see men fight over her. After a long and extremely gory war, she chose one man's best friend because she thought his looks 'suited her.' Plenty of examples of the evils of man."

Tria had gone back several centuries in history. She wondered if the lady would question her on her knowledge of history, street kids weren't supposed to have an education. It wasn't like she had only heard stories, she had been in the middle of most of those wars. Either watching, or moving pieces on the figurative chess board with fellow watchers. She had acted in many a plight for good as well, but they were never as fun.

They rounded a corner, and arrived at their destination. "See? We got here. Now if you excuse me, I have some things to do." Triandra turned on her heel and started off on the way back to the cesspit. She needed to get ready for tonight.

Lailia shook her head. "Don't give up just yet," she said with a small smile, feeling sorry for Tristan. "My name is Lailia Willhaven. I'm the honorary Court Witch. I'm sure that someone in the palace will know of this Ojama of yours. It should help that I know you."

She snapped her fingers and her broom came flying out of her two story window and into her hand. Taking a seat sidesaddle she asked Tristan, "Would you like to ride? We can ask one of the King's servants first." She pointed upwards to the King's quarters.

Tristan's eyes widened slightly at the broom's grand entrance. Being a reporter, he had the honor, if that was the right word, to do a story on the witch's academy not too long ago. He had taken a not-so-friendly broom ride at that time, and had since vowed to never fly again.

He held up his hands and smiled. "That's nice of you," he said as politely as he could, "but I don't think my story is worth the trouble of bothering more people than it should."

Lailia remained hovering on her broom, unfazed. Most humans were queasy about riding. "What is this story you keep talking about?" she asked curiously.

((Please, watch your post lengths. I understand it's hard to write long if your partner doesn't give you much to go on.. but it's getting close to one liners.. and if there's one thing I hate, it's a roleplay made up of one liners. I'm not doing all that great either at keeping it long, but I'll try and I hope you guys will too. Sorry, and thanks.))

Tristan shrugged. "It's about people having the sort of mind to kill other people," he explained. "But the thing is, it's only based on the Cesspit; so it's pretty much just telling people how rotten a place the Cesspit is, when everyone already knows this."

So, he pretty much was just overreacting about Ojama, but it was nice to know that someone had an opinion other than, "it's dark", "it's scary", and "who in their right mind would accept a pointless story like that?". He didn't have a choice, his boss just dislikes him, and wants him to suffer more than anyone else in the business, which is slow.

(( LonerKino...I'm lovin' the little thing you got going on with the noble and the peasant. It makes me want to grab the little girl and hug her till she was blue in the face. x3 ))

[Hey, that wasn't borderline one-liner. That was three sentences. Forgive me if I have writer's block once in a while, okay?]]

"The Cesspit?" Lailia asked. "Is it really so bad there? I know they're not rich like the castle folk, but they can't be too bad off, right? The kingdom is in a happy, peaceful time."

Though perhaps, she reflected, that wasn't such a good thing.
