We ended up with a bronze.
I think petty uch everyone (even Mr. Dawby-face) blames our snare drummer who quit a week before hand and our non-existant tuba player who didn't show up. sweatdrop
What did you guys get?

Ah, well...that sucks real bad...lol. At least you know who to blame it on! We got gold....

I'm not sure. It's kind of hard to tell right now 'cause eight or so members out of 19 are graduating at the end of this year. crying
(And that includes the two lead trumpets!)

x_Hikari_x Ick...that's not very good. Our band is dwindling too...but we're getting a bunch more because of school closures. Then again, our school has always been known for it's music programs...
You'll just have to recruit more members! lol. I swear that's what the Concert Band Workshops and the Music Leadership Camps are for. lol.

x_Hikari_x lol....we don't have any of those... Dude, you're missing out. xd MLC is like band camp but it's only three days long and CBW is exactly what it sounds like. Last time I went to one, it was a HUGE band and a whole-lotta clinics and fun sectional stuff. biggrin Anyway, I think we've taken over this thread. domokun wink

Ms.Tadakichi Number_09 Yay first post! Anyway... Is anyone here going to Music-fest in Ottawa, ON, Canada in 2005? If you are, what level is your band entering in and what pieces are you playing? *gasp* it's on ottawa next year?! i hope we go...i have no idea about the levels and stuff though..i thought it was gonna be in vancouver or sumthing XD glad its close yaaa i heard/ thought it was gonna b in vancouver too-- thats why we coudlnt go crying but montreal was awesome whee lollz

x_Hikari_x That's cool....we have two jazz bands, mind you, they only differ by a few members...We don't have any small ensembles this year for some reason that I'm not sure of. I'd join jazz band, but my instrument isn't really jazzy. Only our concert and jazz bands compete, though. wat instrument do yu play? becuase i play the horn... and its not a jazz instrument really... but because our mucis program IS lacking sweatdrop i'm also in the jazz band- i transpose alot of music.. then again i also play the piano.. blaugh so, yeah- its all becuase of ht.. scream jkz.... anyways i hate our band director--- just had to get that out.

Linzy Athena Hi, I'm from Canada, and Ontario...anyone else? Anyways, this post is regarding the Ontario Band Association, or the Ontario Honour band. Has any one heard of this? I don't know how many gaians are even from Canada, much less Ontario! My band teacher gave a few of her students (including myself) a form to get into this OBA, or the Ontario Honour Band. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about, or even been involved in this? I really want to try it out, but I'm not really sure what it entails. Also, if anyone could give me ideas for solo pieces for Alto Sax, that would be awesome! oh oh oh--- yeh i think ive heard of that... really. but our schools so dipriveleged. lol... so w/e i'm not so good at hitting all the high notes on the french horn anyways... the only reason everyone thinks im good is becuase i play with 'emotion and musicality' sweatdrop loll
