SpaceKitteh Lomedin SpaceKitteh Lomedin 12 Monkeys... surprised OMG, THIS IS A FILM... Terry Gilliam at his best... Time travel ... what else can u ask for? I love time travel stuff... And the OST is great too Haven't heard the OST, but 12 Monkeys was great. Also, I liked The Fifth Element. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy was good, but the books are better. There were some other good ones, but I can't remember. sweatdrop THGTTG was on tv a couple of weeks ago and it was a HUGE disappointment gonk I was expecting so much more than that... something to do with the british accent, perhaps? ... rolleyes Yeah, I dunno, if you think about it with the books, it's horrible, but if you take it on it's own it was amusing. I did not read the books, although I still want to... But I would understand if the film put people off xp Dark City, not a bad film... I like Alex Proyas' The Crow as well, although I'm not interested in I, Robot at all... btw, this guy does not seem to have much talent for creating new stories o.O

12 Monkeys was pretty sweet. I'd have to say, though, that my favorite sci-fi movies are The Fifth Element, Blade Runner, and The Matrix.
Is anyone a fan of Johnny Mnemnonic? That movie was wicked BA, as well.

That movie was wicked BA, as well. whats it about? It takes place in a futuristic society where the world is ruled by big businesses that use the yakuza in order to enforce their motives. Underground subversive organizations use specially trained couriers to transport information that is stored using an implant in their brain. Pretty essential cyberpunk material.

As a cyberpunk, I must love Johnny Mnemonic =) ... Even though it's not that good. I'm sure people who are not familiar with Gibson or Cyberpunk consider this film basically crap. BTW, did you notice that Keanu is in at least 3 cyberpunk films? Johnny, Matrix and A Scanner Darkly... Does he have a cyberpunk face or what? xd

I watched Primer a couple of days ago. Interesting. I have to admit I was expecting more though (the friend who gave me the loan was always going on about it). Anyway, a different point of view about time travel. I think they could have made more of it... It focuses too much in the 2 characters, in a selfish way, instead of talking more about time travel in a more metaphysical kinda way.

Me, again... Yeah, I like SF xp I decided to start watching all the cyberpunk movies I could find, so got The 13th Floor last week. I read good reviews about it. That's probably why I was disappointed. It was predictable as hell, and the story was not that original if you are used to cyberpunk/sf/reality issues related films.

I saw I Am Legend the day before yesterday. Pretty cool movie, I thought. Had some incredible scenes, and it's an interesting idea, all of it, really. Especially the ending sure made it a legend. ^_^

Especially the ending sure made it a legend. ^_^ Ehm, the ideas are actually taken from the 1954 scifi novel by Richard Matheson (is it only me or originality is an endangered species?). Before the 2007 version, we had The Omega Man in 1971 and The Last Man on Earth in 1964. Pity that w. smith is starring... I'd be interested otherwise xd

AVP-R
WTF was that?? I'm a huge predator fan, but not even that can save what they have done here...
Firstly, I didn't know if I should comment the film here or in the action thread, but since people actually spent such amount of money producing and promoting this film, I decided to put it in scifi... or perhaps it'd be better in fantasy, or comedy...
Anyway, we have a film trying to bring some american values bullshit into the AandP world... Nothing better to destroy both worlds, indeed.
I estimate there are only 10-15 min of real action in the film, and only 25% of that is AVP action... That would not be that bad if we had an interesting plot or deep dialogues... but C'MON!
Seriously, this film cannot be saved in any way.
Why hollywood, why... gonk
