Raistlin cocked his head to the side, and sipped his wine again. After a few moments thought, he shrugged "I never asked" his lips curled in a smirk akin to something the grinch would produce "She served a purpose. I got what i needed from the Dark Goddess, and i got out of there. Why she chose to help was never of importance." He said airily.

Davey decided to abandon that angle, it hadn't worked, he would have to try something new "It seems to meh that yeh chose to go to this abyss fer something from the dark goddess then? Something yeh wished to gain from her... was that yer power? Did yeh not only sacrifice yer health but yer freedom as well to gain such power? Seems like a mighty high cost fer such a thing, it must be a great power indeed to be worth so much" if he could poke around in this ones past he might be able to find the angle he needed

Raistlin's smirk grew beneath his hood. Luckily his cowl covered most of his expressions. "i was sent unwillingly" he said gingerly. "But being in the presence of a goddess, one might as well get something out of it" he said taking another sip of his wine.

"an oportunist eh? I like that in a man" He raises his mug in a salute "Just so long as that man has loyalty and doesn't cross me that it" He downs his mug and refills it

Raist smirked, but said nothing about Davey's comment. He sipped his wine in responce, refilling his glass. "I have my loyalties, sir" he said with a grin "I'm honest about them."

"Glad to hear it, aye" he drank more, it was a miracle he wasn't passed out on the floor let alone sober ... well mostly sober "Hows the wine? Yeh haven't touched it much, do I be needin to reprimand the barkeep for serving poor stock?"

Raistlin shook his head side to side lightly, freeing more silver-white strands of hair from behind his cowl. "No, nothing of that sort" he said with a barely audible chuckle "My twin, is the drinker of the family. I indulge from time to time but nothing like Caramon..." he smirked again. he could just picture Caramon passed out in some random bar-maids bed, drunk and love-sick.

"Ah well then perhaps we might find something more suitable to yer tastes?" Davey waved the barkeep over who came quickly and waited at the end of the table to take the new orders, this wasnt going at all according to plan, davey was putting alot into this and getting nothing out and he hated it when that happened

Raistlin watched Davey, he observed the Sea Kings actions, watched subtleties others might've missed. But when you're a mage, you live or die by subtleties. He told the barkeep to get him a different year of wine. He figured that would keep the old man busy. "My brother is the drinker i fear. My health generally doesnt allow for such a thing" he said with a wry smirk

"That be so? I always 'eard wine was good fer ye health" Davey smiled that was at least one thing he didn't have to worry about, he'd live forever long as no one found his heart

Another wry smile "That all depends on your health good sir" he said with a raspy chuckle and another sip of his wine "Well, enough of me and my boring tales, what of Davey Jones?" he asked cocking his head to the side

"Aye, well I never be called 'good sir' before" he laughed "Usually I be de terror o dah seas, what else ye be wantin to know?" Questioning this guys was getting him no where... perhaps if Raist did the questioning he would become relaxed. Either way Davey was starting to like his company and it was very rare for that to happen

Raist tilted his head lightly, hourglass orbs taking in Davey "How you became this way? I traded fairly for what i am. Were you ever mortal? Ever..human?" he asked taking another sip of wine. He felt a little tingly, but not enough for him to blurt out various sercrets that he kept

"Aye I was mortal once, I was granted immortality by a goddess when assigned the duty to ferry the dead to their destination, after ten years I quit for meh freedom and roamed the seas a free man, after which I looked as I do now" This was the story that many sailors knew and it was mostly true though many details were left out

Raistlin couldnt help but chuckle, it was a light chuckle because he was avoiding another coughing fit, but a chuckle none the less. He leaned forword, robed elbows resting lightly on the dusty tabletop, his hood slipped back to reveal the smirk on his maw "A fine tale, were it the whole tale." a dangerous light flicked in his golden hourglass orbs, albut briefly "Do not assume me to be one of the snivling idiotic drunken fools you mostly encounter" he inclined his head lightly "The kind who would believe that tale" he shrugged "Should you wish to keep aspects to yourself, so be it, but i ask you not to pry into my tale and give me such a small shred of your own in return" He took another sip of his wine, as a coughing spell took over him. It lasted several minutes, but as always it subsided with help of his tea.
