~ Walking Alone ~

Dawn of day 2||3rd January

He had been gone but two days from the pack and in that time he had learnt many things, and now as he trotted along he spoke to himself, imprinting the details into his mind for future reference.

Never...never speak to long-legs, if friendly or angry. They scared of thorns so use to advantage. He nodded his fuzzy muzzle, as he returned to his old habit of speaking to himself. They have large claws on head that they use and hurt poor pups, and big scary feet that look like stone.

He crossed the gorge with great difficulty but as he dragged himself up onto the other side he knew he was truly home. He wanted to howl and bark to make his appearance known but decided a surprise was in order. Snuffling through the snow he raised his head and continued speaking.

Puff-tails throw things that hurt, never chase them ever. He leapt over a boulder blocking his path and paused as Haku's scent reached his sensitive nose, he twitched it thoughtfully and made his way round to the pond, circling wide so that his presence would remain unknown. Haku near den? He asked himself, canting his head and peering over at the frozen pond.

It was then that he smelt something different. Blood reached his nostrils, wolf blood and he smelt the new pups were somewhere nearby. Had they perhaps hurt his beloved brother? No, Lera and Carmen were there to protect him and they would not leave Haku to die.

Yet strange scents caught at his nose, ones that he didn't like and his hackles rose automatically, as he stalked forwards through the snow, wanting to know what was going on. Ignoring the pain in paw and nose, wondering if he was too late, maybe they had been killed whilst he was away...

Strangers bringing threats
Kimaria
If they had listened carefully the small gather of wolves may have heard the tiniest of growls, emitted from the brush close by. For Gizmo had of course headed straight to the den and had come across this little scene. There were two wolves there who he didn't know and nor did he want to. They smelt somewhat strange and by listening carefully the large brown wolf was nothing but trouble.

He shifted slightly, so that he was lying on his stomach, piercing golden eyes watching the goings on. Part of him wanted Haku to attack and the other wanted him to back off. If anything happened to his brother than everything they had strived for would be lost.

He would now wait to see what would occur before interrupting, one thing set in his mind. If a fight was to break out, he would possibly be the only wolf insisting they stop.

Thalion
Feanaro quivered, lowering his head and breathing slowly to try and compose himself. Every nerve in him quivered, he wanted badly to attack this son of a b***h ((hehe)), to put him out of the world's misery but Kahlaria.... she'd be devistated if something happened to him and Lexi... she'd be crushed if he came back wounded. Would she be more angry if he let himself be insulted by this brute? Perhaps all attacks didn't have to be so direct... he could hurt this wolf in many other ways... but all that would come later. It wouldn't be at all like him to walk away from an insult that great, "Indeed.... look who you are related to." He laughed suddenly and wildly, throwing his head back and puffing his chest out as he laughed to the wolf's face, "I never would have guessed! I should have known- such stupidity and trechery would only be linked back to those wolves. You're quite right. How blind I was!"

Kouseki
Haku growled. This is how he wanted to fight? Well then, Haku would simply have to fight back like he always did. "I wouldn't he talking about being stupid," he took his alpha pose as well, "Gaara did seem unhappy with you, why else would the wolf pup beg Lera to join us? I wasn't even aware of him until he joined us." Smirking he would growl slightly, this wwas rather fun, got his anger out. "You were seemingly in love with my sister, so how are we the stupid ones? Did you really think she was going to choose you over someone like Devvyl? You have to be kidding me!" he was going to make this wolf attack him, to prove himself right. Because he knew this wolf was all about fighting.

Ryugen
"NO! He's the Blind one!" Lexi insists. "There's two of us! And one of them's been fighting already, can't you smell the blood! His pack is already broken if he takes in liars!" She shakes herself, outraged. Just because she's not full grown this pathetic black wolf won't listen to a thing she says. "We're stronger than them!" Her ears flick uncertainly, Feanaro is far too clever not to have an idea, but every fiber in her wants to prove to this "Old Dog" that she's stronger and faster than he takes her for, to show that Feanaro's pack is the strongest ever, the smartest, the best.

Thalion
"It's true... I was in love with the trecherous b***h... but we all have to grow up from pups one day." He laughed again, his madness was slowly bleeding through. It was as if everything had been tensed up inside of him and had snapped in an instant, giving way to splinters of insanity. "It's obvious that she chose Devvyl.... as deer will only mate with another deer one fool will only mate with another fool." Neither wolf was smart in his mind... Devvyl would have lost the fight had the others not stepped in and overpowered Fea all those months back, the red male would have born some nasty scars if it weren't for Feanaro, Selia and Elphia would be dead to the river or a bear. They were all fools in his mind- this wolf wasn't doing anything to contradict his thoughts of wolves in this land. "Look at you, standing there- you think that because you have another pup you have power over me?" He laughed again, his dangerous eyes returning to those of the other male.

Ryugen
Lexi flicks her ear slightly, her own narrow focus widening as the tenseness lessens ever so slightly. "Let a fool die a fool then. Gaara is a treacherous liar. He made promises to us, he made me think he cared for us, and then he ran to a gray muzzled deaf fool. Gaara will tear his throat out in his sleep in thanks I'm sure." She bares her teeth again, trying not to show that she's noticed the faint movement in the bushes, though her nose twitches, trying to pick out the newcomers smell. "Are you trying to send sneaking cowards to attack us, Greymuzzle?"

Kouseki
Their pack was stronger? they had three pups, and three adults, all born fighters, knowing what to do. "SHut up, you can insult me, but don't you EVER talk about my sister like that. I might have not stayed in her pack, but she's been through enough without the likes of you." Snapping at him again, he would snarl. "You want a fight, then take it out on me, but you leave my pack the HELL alone, do you hear me? Go run off and fix you pack, we're moving to the east anyways, then we never have to see the likes of YOU running around here."

Snarling a bit more, he would snap at the wolf again, his alpha pose still in place. He knew where he belonged, and this wolf would not even stand a chance if he went against Haku. Because Haku had more brains then him, obviously. Snapping again, he would snarl.

Kimaria
Enough was enough, Gizmo padded softly out of the bushes and headed over to stand not beside his brother but moved to sit between them. He would turn his head first to Haku and look up at him with pleading eyes, no more...brother. His voice was but a whisper but he knew all of them would have heard.

Then as calmly as possible he turned to face the others and wondered why they were so angry with Haku when surely it should be Gaara who should be angry. The older pup was being treated like a piece of meat, everyone trying to take a bite out of him and claim as his own.

Gaara not be possesion, he be wolf as you and me. He flattened his ears a little and wrinkled his nose in thought, Should you not let he decide?

If this is what pack-life brought - nothing but rage and sorrow - than this pup wanted nothing of it, he did not hate the strangers but he disagreed strongly with their beliefs, especially the large male. His eyes were filled with hate and rage, but he also saw a sadness in them and somewhere deep down there was love, this adult had been given little love in his time, perhaps that is why he wanted to get Gaara back so badly.

He sensed that maybe, just maybe they were preparing to leave them in peace.

Thalion
[Feanaro turned to Lexi and nodded, turning his back with confidance from the male. "Let us fall back..." He leaned into her ear-whispering low and carefully so no matter how sharp the demon's hearing was- his words would be lost and to all but himself and Lexi, "They will pay for this trechery... but they outnumber us. We'll act by moonlight under the blackwing's guidance." With that he began away from the situation, "Come Lexi... I have an old cave that we may rest in for the journey back home." This was a bluff- based on his words Lexi would probibly guess that it was. Indeed he had a cave but they'd only be in it long enough to throw off suspicion and guard. He'd have his revenge on the pack... they'd taken from him and now he had the grounds to take from them. He passed under Suuru's tree and sent a glance up to him, nodding slightly. The crow nodded in response- he'd keep an eye on this pack for them as they prepared.

Ryugen
"Gaara had a choise. He also had PROMICES. He broke my Mothers HEART. Is that a choice? I could have loved him, I thought he'd be my mate. But he throws himself from pack to pack like a Deer bone, as though being tossed from jaw to jaw will make him strong. He'll do the same to you! Can't you hear what I'm saying? Have you got LEAVES in your ears? He came to US! He left with NO word. We would have done ANYTHING to make him happy! He was like my BROTHER!" He voice is full of rage, but at the same time, at the mention of Gaara, it fills with pain. If wolves could cry, she'd be on the verge of it. "You're all stupid, and blind!" She throws back her head and howls, a long heartbroken sound, and then resumes with a broken voice. "He gave us his OATH...doen't that mean ANYTHING?" She wants suddenly to howl her pain out to the hills, as much as she wants to tear them open and show them what fools they are. "Feanaro, I hate them..." She whispers, turning to follow him, as though the other wolves were no more threat than ghosts and shadows. "How can they just accept that he did that to us. How can they?"

Kouseki
He looked to his little brother, then forgot all about the other wolf momentarily. "GIZMO! You came back!" Moving over to nuzzle and lick the pup's forehead. he would smirk and nod. "You're right. I'm not going to get into anymore with you, brute. Gaara has choosen to stay here with us. He told me himself that he doesn't not wish to be with you. So if you would please get off my lands and away from my den, then my family will glandly take our stuff and move the entire pack.

Shaking his head lightly, he would pick up gizmo in his mouth and turn around. This wolf couldn't possibly be low enough to attack him while he wasn't looking, that would be lower than any wolf should go. "Don't insult Gaara." He murmured setting down Gizmo for a minute, turning around again. "Don't ever talk about him like that infront of me."

Kimaria
Gizmo listened to the female's words with a sad heart, had Gaara really been as bad as what she had said? He could not help but feel sorry for them and wished that somehow he could help. Yet he was but a mere pup and could be of no use to anyone.

Perhaps Gaara left for reason he felt he couldn't explain...if they took time to speak with him in private maybe they decide what he did was wrong. He looked up at his brother and nodded. Of course I come back.

He let himself be carried and let out a small 'oof' sound as he was set down once more. As he watched the two wolves dissapear he wondered what could have happened which would turn a wolf so cold, did he not see that the demon was within him and not inside the others?

Why they hate Gaara for staying here brother?

Kouseki
"Gaara betrayed them, Gizmo.. But It wasn't his fault.. He didn't want to attack Selia like that, no matter how much he hated her. And he's more than a weapon, I'm just not sure if they reliased that he needs love just like any other pup." Nuzzling Gizmo, he would bark playfully. His brother was back.

"I understnad why you ran off, Giz. And I very glad you came back. Just next time, could you warn me? I was so worried." Smiling,he would lick the pup again before thinking. Fea betteer not ever come near them again, or he would go to Seila and they could team up against him. Both packs against three wolves? But, that would be later.

Ever since he'd hurt his sister, Haku could never forgive that alpha. And for speaking about her like that? It just made haku want to kill something.

Kimaria
Things were so confusing to the little pup, he found it very difficult to hate anyone but he sensed the hatred pouring from his brother, and it was strangely contagious.

He snarled a little and flattenened his ears, no wolf has right to treat other that way. They reminded him of his own family and it made him tremble with rage. He stood up and with a slight limp he moved to snuggle against his brother's dark side.

We protect each other. He snuffled against Haku and warmed his nose in his fur.

I decide to stay with pack. He murmered softly to his brother, wishing that there wasn't so much hate and pain in the world. Why did wolves have to fight wolves? They already had many enemies let alone having to fight against each other with such violence. He trembled as he remembered the look in that brown wolf's eyes and whimpered quietly.

Something told him that the wolf had no intention to back down so easily, the look in his eyes spoke of revenge and death.

Kouseki
Haku would jump up and nuzzle him softly. "I'm so glad, brother. You'll see. Not all packs are bad. I wish that you didn't have to witness that, though." Shaking his head. He would bark playfully again at the pup. "Don't worry about him. I'll make sure he never gets you or Gaara. He's not as strong as he thinks he is." Shaking his head again, he would lick the pup softly.

"Lera should be better in a few days, then we will hnt or Aeria. Once we find her, however, we must move to our own lands. She and I were think about moving to the East." Nodding, he would smirk. This was turning out much better than he thought it would.

"And I will always protect you like I just did for Gaara." Smiling, he would lick the pup again, he just couldn't get over the fact that Gizmo was all right! Smirking, he would yawn slightly. "Or maybe even more, since you are my brother."

Kimaria
But brother...do the strangers not need friends? He whimpered slightly, and nuzzled his brother back, glad that Haku would protect him against that large male and the fiesty female.

His spirits rose a little at the mention of Aeria and he nodded thoughtfully, but he was a little sad at leaving the place he had called home, although perhaps it was for the best. If they moved on they could leave all this hatred behind them.

He yawned too, pouncing on his brothers tail and moving somewhat stiffly over to the den, lowering himself and entering. The scent of Kamali and Sable was like a slap to the face, and though he scanned the den, he spotted neither the mint pup or the vicious little thing he had built a subtle dislike for.

He turned questioningly to his brother, waiting for the answer he knew he wasn't going to like.

Kouseki
haku smiled and tried to look innocent. "I tried to be nice to them, and I let them join. But listen to me, Sable betrayed us, then Gaara hurt him very bad. When I saw that pup, he was nopthing but a ball of blood in the snow. Maybe next time he would not betray us." Snorting, he would growl. Too bad Notoka isn't like me." Growling, he smelt those stupid birds. "Gizmo, we have a lot of eniemes, I want you either around me or Lera or even Carmen, make sure it's the same for Gaara and Kamali. I don't want anything to happen. We can not afford it." With a small growl to the bird he would bark at them.

Kimaria
So Gaara tore the pup to shreds? Gizmo automatically shrunk down to the ground, hoping that the words of that female wolf would not come true. What if Gaara did have demonic motives and wanted to destroy them, what if this was all just a ploy so that the two strangers could take over them, using that strange pup as a decoy.

Yet he did not believe for a second that this was the reason, Haku had said that Sable was a traitor, so maybe Gaara had attacked him for that very reason, if he decided to leave one day would he also meet a lot of violence?

He shuddered and let out a soft whimper, you sure Gaara pup will be trustworthy? He whispered, pressing himself more firmly against his brother.

As the dark wolf barked at the birds Gizmo jumped up and darted into the den, wishing that life wasn't so dangerous. Perhaps it would be safer to stay in the den until Lera was healed enough for them to leave. He didn't like the sound of having a lot of enemies, and as far as he was concerned him and his pack had done nothing wrong other than take in pups who needed security or wanted to join.

Kouseki
Growling at the birds he would snap at them violent. He kenw they were planning on taking Gizmo, he wasn't stupid. They had no shot. Haku wouldn't leave his side, and niether would Lera. This was low, it wasn't even his FAULT Gaara joined the pack. He didn't even want to have Gaara join, he hated Gaara at first. There would be no way they would get Gizmo, Haku would rather die.

He trailed after the pup. "Gizmo I would prefur you stay in here with Lera, and stay protected, those stupid crows.. Oneof them works for Fea, he can't fool me, no matter how he tries."

"Gaara is trust worthy. At first I thought he was working for them.. But everyone desierves a second chance." Too much had happened with this pack, he wasn't about to let one more thing happen, or he might as well give up being an alpha.

Kimaria
I stay Gizmo agreed through a yawn, lowering his muzzle to lick at his aching paws, he had journeyed far the last day or so and all he wanted was to sleep. The worry of danger also got to him, with strangers in the woods what would happen to Aeria? Maybe they would talk her into joining and they would find each other on separate sides, he whimpered and curled up, shivering slightly.

If Gaara deserves second chance, why not those wolves? The pup was still sure they could work things out, maybe both packs could help each other instead of fighting, he wished there was something more that he could do...but he was too small and cowardly.

Aeria returns!
Friday_Dora
Aeria cautiously exited the den, looking around for Lera once more. She still could not see her, but a couple quick sniffs with her sensitive nose revealed that there were indeed wolves nearby. One of the scents struck her as Lera's.

Was it possible that she was in trouble? Had she been attacked by a pack upon leaving the safety of the den? It seemed unlikely, but her mind was still paranoid about such things after being separated from Gizmo. With no regard for her own safety, Aeria began to briskly trot towards the scent.

Kimaria
With a small huff, Gizmo opened his eyes with great difficulty, aware of the bodies of his pack members in the den. It was so warm and comfortable to lie there in such security, and to feel wanted. The sounds of peaceful breathing was also soothing to the ears and the pup yawned, rolling onto his stomach and pulling himself up onto his feet.

Stretching lazily Gizmo padded past the members of his pack and made his way up and out of the den. The sudden temperature change caused him to shiver violently and he spotted Gaara lying in the snow, looking somewhat asleep, or in deep thought.

Sitting back in the snow he regarded his surroundings warily, things had gotten a little tense lately, with the strangers entering the forest and new members joining.

Breathing in deep, his sensitive nostrils caught a scent, one that he never thought he would find on the breeze again. He leapt up onto his paws and turned in the direction, quivering with excitement.

Aeria... He breathed, for surely it could be no other.

Forgetting his promise to stay close to the den, the small and somewhat round pup leapt through the snow, tongue lolling from his mouth and ears drawn forward. A blast of snow caught him in the face, blurring his vision slightly, but her scent grew stronger and he knew she wasn't too far away.

As he ran he lifted his muzzle and gave a puppy howl, hoping wherever she was, she would hear it.

Friday_Dora
Aeria froze in her tracks. Her ears perked forward. Could it be...? The howling of another wolf, another young wolf to be more precise. And it sounded strangely familiar. Gizmo?

She lifted her head and howled back, a brief, piercing sound that ended quickly as she broke into a run towards the sound of the first howl. She had instantly forgotten all about her search for Lera, and now could only think about finding Gizmo once more. The pads of her feet collided quietly against the snow as she darted back and forth, looking for the other pup.

Kimaria
At her answering call, the pup paused in his tracks to listen. It did not last long in reality, but in Gizmo's mind the piercing note rang through his head and refused to leave.

It truly was Aeria!

Oh thank the moon that she was still alive! With a yip he bounded forwards once more, snow flying up beneath his paws as he continued relentlessly, not even the scary long-legs could keep him from finding her, not when he was so close.

The trees were nothing but a blur as he sped past and everything else was forgotten. She wasn't dead, she was alive and sounded fine! Yipping loudly he burst through the trees and skidded to a halt as he spotted the little female just ahead. The snow had blurred his vision, but he could never forget her, especially when she stood out from the snow as she did now.

His legs quivered slightly and he took a small step forward, unsure whether she would be upset with him for leaving or not. His tail twitched and started to wag slowly, and he pawed sheepishly at the ground.

Friday_Dora
Aeria started as a leggy bundle of fur came shooting through the trees, yipping excitedly at her. She stared at him for a second as the realization spread across her face. Gizmo!

Oh, Gizmo! Is that really you? She didn't wait for an answer to her question; of course it was Gizmo. He looked like Gizmo, smelled like Gizmo, sounded like Gizmo. Her tail began to wag rapidly, then her hindquarters, and soon her entire little body was shaking with excitement over being reunited with her friend.

Where were you? I was scared! I didn't think I'd see you again! Oh, she had so much to tell him, about Lera and the den and the rabbit, but her mind was so full of questions that her mouth wasn't working fast enough. She stood before him, eyes bright and ears forward, waiting for him to say something.

Kimaria
Gizmo's head was spinning with so many happy and excited thoughts, they were all rushing through his brain so fast that his mouth didn't work and he stared wide-eyed at the little female. She was just as he remembered, so happy and kind and...she was speaking to him! He shook his head dumbly to concentrate on her words, and noticed her own excitement.

She was happy to see him too!

With a small bounce, Gizmo trotted forwards, pausing a meter or so away from her and canting his head. It me, it you! Atleast his mouth had started to work again.

Lowering himself in a playful bow he glanced up at her with his golden eyes and gave a cheerful yip, wagging his tail fiercely. He wanted to tell her everything, explain his reasons for running off and the events that had led up to this meeting but all that came out was a jumbled and rather quickly spoken sentence. I scared, ran away, met other wolf, found Haku and pack, we not far.

She had been scared? Oh he would make sure never to leave her again, she would never have to feel scared with brave Gizmo around! I not leave you 'gain Aeria. He promised.

Then with an excited yip, he reared up slightly on his hind legs and batted at her playfully with outstretched forepaws.

Friday_Dora
You won't leave me again? She tilted her head thoughtfully. If Gizmo said he wasn't going to leave her, then he wouldn't. She trusted him, even though they'd only known each other a short while.

Aeria yipped playfully and leapt back at him, growling and snapping at him in jest. It was so nice to see him after what seemed like such a very long time.

A pack? Are you in a pack now, Gizmo? Normally she would have teased him about his wanting to be a 'lone wolf', but instead she opted to continue pouncing at him.

Kimaria
Nope, never again. Pups, need stick together. He nodded his muzzle and gave her a puppy smile as she began to play. He yipped back and bounded about on the snow, squeaky growls rumbling in his throat as he batted at her ears and nose with the pads of his paws.

At her question he paused in play, knowing that by joining a pack he had broken the promise he had made to himself to be a lone wolf, and had given her false information on their first encounter...well it hadn't been false at the time...

I met Haku...he kind wolf and not leave me 'lone in forest. Insisted Gizmo stay with him till find my paws. He grinned, tongue lolling from the side of his mouth. He gave a squeak as she pounced on him and they rolled in the snow, a blur of paws and tails.

One day I be lone, but pack need Gizmo...need Aeria too. He remembered his brother's worry about not having enough females in the pack, and he was sure to welcome his best friend in the whole world. Haku had promised him that they would find her...and now she was here they could finally be together again and not worry about danger.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped happily as they rolled and Gizmo spoke of Haku, the pack. The pack needs... me?

It was strange, the thought that anyone would ever need Aeria. She feared that the very reason she was on her own to begin with was because she wasn't wanted, wasn't needed by her own family. To think that another pack might need her made her happy.

Where is your pack? I would like to meet them, and Haku. She smiled, her puppy teeth shining, and swatted at Gizmo once more. Are they nearby?

If they were, then that would explain the foreign smells she had detected upon exiting the den. She blinked slowly, remembering the den and Lera.

Kimaria
There was a sweetness in her eyes that Gizmo noticed when she was thinking seriously, it was strange how the pup could tell many things just by looking at the eyes of another. Perhaps that is why he liked Aeria as soon as he saw her, she had such gentle, kind ones.

Pack need females, only two. All rest males. He listened to the rest of her words and nodded his muzzle Pack not far, pack very near. He yipped happily and reached over to touch noses with her in sign of affection.

Gizmo show you pack, we go now? He was desperate for the others to meet Aeria, especially Haku. For some reason it meant a lot to him that his pack brother approved of his friend, although he was sure he would. What wolf beneath the shining moon would not like her? To say the pup was happy would be an understatement.

Friday_Dora
Aeria nodded. Let's go! She would work on finding Lera later, or maybe the older female would find her. Things had a funny way of working out for the little wolf pup.

She watched Gizmo intently, waiting for him to lead the way to his pack, and quite possibly her new pack. She hoped they would accept her as one of their own, as they had Gizmo. This Haku, she assumed he was the alpha of the pack. Gizmo had certainly made some friends in high places while he'd been without her, it seemed.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded, and got up onto his paws, shaking the snow from his fur and glancing at Aeria. I lead way. He nodded and began slowly off in the right direction, tail wagging constantly. Oh he had never been so happy in his whole entire life.

You like Haku, he strong wolf and hunter. He teach me many things, he teach Aeria too. Loping through the snow, he walked through the trees he had come to call "home" and remembered that soon their pack would be moving. He brother and alpha. Gizmo decided to fill her in on a few things before they arrived, plus it gave him something to talk about.

Carmen look scary, but she good wolf, me think she had hard life, but she likes puppies so she like you. He smirked, wondering what everyone would think of the new edition. There be Kamali too, he new pup and nice, but bit quiet.

Who had the pup missed? He couldn't remember who he had mentioned already and who he had left out, then a couple more names came to mind.

Gaara, he new pup too, though a bit mean. I think he join cos of Lera, she the big scary wolf we saw in the wood. She alpha female.

Friday_Dora
Aeria followed Haku through the trees and snow, staying as close to the other pup as possible without causing him to trip over her. Her tail wagged back and forth as he described the other wolves in the pack.

Haku sounded very kind. She assumed she would take an instant liking to him, as he had been so nice to Gizmo. It intrigued her that the pup called the alpha his "brother". Could it be that they were, in fact, related? She would find out once they arrived.

More pups, and another female. She would get along well with them. Aeria nearly skidded to a dead halt when she heard the name Lera escape Gizmo's lips, though.

Lera. She had a pack? And she was an alpha, no less? Lera... that was the name of the she-wolf who took care of me. She stared at Gizmo with wide, confused eyes. Is this the same Lera?

Kimaria
At Aeria's question the pup turned to look at her, a thoughtful look crossing his face. Lera big silvery wolf, very pretty but she got hurt somehow and recovering in den. You see soon enough. He moved his head and nuzzled the pup happily when a strange scent caught his nostrils.

He lowered his voice and crouched a little, pausing midstride, You smell that? He asked Aeria, creeping forwards on his belly and peering through the bushes. He couldn't believe his eyes!

It was the strange wolf who had threatened Haku just yesterday, and he was still here, so close to the den! Did he have a death wish?

Whimpering slightly he turned to Aeria, What we do?

Friday_Dora
She stared at Gizmo, then looked back to what she could only assume was an intruder from Gizmo's reaction. Aeria whined slightly, meeting his eyes once more.

Should we run? She felt a bit guilty for even suggesting that they put their own safety before that of Gizmo's pack, but she was getting nervous.

She nudged him slightly with her nose. Gizmo, you decide. It's your pack.

Kimaria
His hackles rose instinctively and he crouched lower, would it be selfish of him to want to put Aeria before his pack? Yet she was part of the pack even if Haku hadn't officially declared it so.

He gave a squeaky growl and snuffled the air somewhat loudly, where was Haku? and hadn't Gaara been lying in the snow as he had left the den? He smelt no fresh blood on the air but surely if Haku was nearby he would have pounced on that intruder instantly, not that Gizmo would allow it of course.

The wolf seemed to be falling unconscious, either that or too lost in grief and pain to notice much about him. Had Gaara really been so important to the adult that it would drive him to this? Drive him straight into the jaws of death?

His growl would transform into a whimper and his ears flattened sadly, he turned his eyes to Aeria and spoke quietly. He sad...harmless...we can't let brother, Carmen or Lera hurt him... He wasn't sure how the females would react to having him so close to their den.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's ears flattened backwards in response to Gizmo. What do you think is wrong with him? She wasn't sure why she was getting concerned about this wolf she didn't know. Perhaps she was too sensitive, too young to act otherwise.

She sat down and looked around. No immediate signs of the others her companion had mentioned, so she supposed the sad wolf would be safe for the time being. Nothing will happen to him, Gizmo. Don't worry, everything will be fine...

The pup was trying to convince herself just as much as she was him. This day just kept getting more and more interesting.

Kimaria
Not sure... Gizmo canted his head and sighed, breath misting around his muzzle. I think he lonely... He dipped his head a little and at Aeria's soothing words he would reach over and lick at her nose.

Aeria right...let's go see if someone wake. With this said he tentatively moved from the bushes, leaving a small gap in the plant so that access would be easier second time round.

Padding cautiously over he paused just in front of the motionless wolf, perhaps he was already gone...banished to the stars where he could rest and watch over them. Yet peering sternly Gizmo saw that the wolf was still very much alive, his sides moved a little with each breath and his whiskers would twitch every now and then.

Too scared to continue further he turned to check Aeria was okay before calling softly. Haku...Lera? He whined quietly and crept forward another pace...Carmen? were none of the adults around?

Friday_Dora
Aeria watched after Gizmo as he looked for adults from the pack. Her nose twitched slightly from where he had licked her... His small sign of affection had made her feel that much more comforted about the entire situation.

She heard him calling softly for the alphas, and then the other adult female he'd told her about. Her eyes followed him as his form became smaller, as he went further away from her. He'd promised he wouldn't leave her, and she held him to that.

Her gaze landed again on the still, dark form of the strange wolf. He didn't seem to be a threat to her or Gizmo, but something about his presence still made her uneasy. Whining, she lay down on the snow, tucking her tail between her legs.

lilwerewolfgirl
*Curled up near the back of the den the skeletal wolf looked out around the cave through her emerald colored eyes. She had now been a member of a pack for what felt like... weeks, even though she knew in reality it was only a week max. She liked the pack life, she just felt sometimes she would need to get away from it all. I guess it was just the lone wolf comming out of her. She'd been lone for so long that she completly forgot what it was like to be with a family, but to her it felt.. sort of good.*

*Turing her gaze towards the cave enterance she thought for sure she heard something. Something told her that she was being summoned. Standing up on her for-paws she gently raised herself into a standing position. When she started the walk it was at a slow one, but quickly the pace heightened. After a short amount of time the cold hard floor trned into a cold soft one of snow, from which she proceaded to think she heard a voice.* "Gizmo?" *She said questionatly, she wasnt to sure who it was... but she was taking a wild guess.*

Lethrossen
Kamali had been silently watching the cave from his small corner, and seeing Carmen leave he wimpered slightly, then rose and trotted out after her. It took him a bit of faster paced walking to catch up, but he did. "Where are you going Carmen?" then he heard Gizmo's name and his head tilted.

"Is Gizmo a'right?" His left ear flicked and his tail flicked to the side, before laying still.

Kimaria
Gizmo held back the reaction to yip in greeting as the skeletal wolf came into view, a dark shape against the whiteness of the snow. He wagged his tail fiercely to show he had seen her and indicated with a twist of his head that he wanted her to approach.

At hearing Aeria's whine he returned instantly to her side, nuzzling at her gently and moving to lay beside her, waiting for Carmen to arrive. He just hoped she wouldn't start a fight with the obviously broken wolf. This stranger's spirit had been shattered and it would not do to care for physical wounds as well as the emotional ones.

No wolf could stand the strain of too much grief and pain at once. For legs can only carry so much weight.

Friday_Dora
Aeria sighed and leaned against Gizmo when he returned. Did you find anyone? It seemed he had perked up at the appearance of something, or perhaps someone.

She shivered a bit, the cold beginning to get to her after not moving for a short while. If, or when, they got to the den, the warmth would be most welcome.

lilwerewolfgirl
*Ear twitching in the direction of the voices Carmen heard the definate sound of Gizmo. Looking behind her she noticed that Kamali had followed her outside of the den. Giving a faint snort she nodded towards the green pup and indicated to where Gizmo laid. Padding closer towards them he not only noticed that another wolf was near Gizmo, but another wolfs scent was on the wind. Her hair on her back started the bristle slightly as she neared the pair.* "You know her Gizmo?" *She said this with a faint sound of harshness in her tone... but then again it couldnt be to harsh, she was a pup afterall. As she waited for the response she still lifted her nose into the air, their was definatly another wolf nearby, but was it a threat? She smelt the faint stench of fear... but who was it radiating from?*

Lethrossen
Kamali had cought the scent too, and his hackles had risen. It looked more or less like he was fluffier.. but hey ;D. He stayed close to Carmen, golden orbs flicking about, then spotted gizmo and the strange pup, and his tail gave a few wags.

Kimaria
He nodded thoughtfully at Aeria and turned his head as Carmen came into view, the minty pup Kam following behind.

This Aeria, she my friend. He told Carmen, not wanting there to be any misunderstanding. He turned his head to Aeria and pointed out the wolves in turn. She Carmen, little one Kamali.

He then turned to more serious matters, standing up beside Aeria and directing Carmen's gaze to the wolf laying close to the den. Still he hadn't moved and it was a little scary to think that such a large and powerful male was acting like a little lost pup. You know him? He asked of Carmen cautiously.

Friday_Dora
Aeria looked at the new wolves and nodded as Gizmo introduced them. The older female had most unusual markings. When she had first spotted her, Aeria's first thought was that someone had turned the wolf inside-out and then sent her on her way. Her imagination was obviously running off with her, again.

The male pup was a lovely light-green color, and the word "minty" came to mind. She wasn't sure where she had heard it, but it seemed to describe him well.

She stood as Gizmo did, still watching the two new wolves.

Lethrossen
He stared at the female for a moment, realizing this was probably Gizmos friend, and looked away, up to Carmen. Then his eyes slowly traveled to where Giz had indicated, and he took a few steps foward to peer around carmen.

Kouseki
The dark male sniffed the ground, still keeping watch. There was a new female near the den, and he snorted lightly, moving over to plop down next to Carmen, a small smile on his face, not really acting alpha like at that moment.

"Hey, brother." Bowing his head lightly, he would look the female over, "Who's she, now? Or by chance is that.. Aeria?"

Otsune
Argh I need rest Lera thought in her mind. She had not slept in a while and her wounds were getting the best of her. Her eyes were tired from journeying yet her head remained high and her tail waved in the air like a banner. Her ears erect she her her body high as she trotted at a relatively slow pace through the woods, heading back to the den for some much needed rest.

Arriving she smelt a strange wolf one that was familiar yet almost unrecognizable. It was the wolf named Feanaro. Lera had never acctually met the wolf but she had definnatly heard about him, he was the alpha of his own pack - the one that Gaara used to belong too. So, he had finally come, eh? The fur on her neck bristeld as she approached the den. The alpha wolf was near, and so were some of her pack brethren by the looks of it, each having their own destinguishable energy. She approach, keeping a weary eye about her.

lilwerewolfgirl
* Looking around she noticed that alot of weird scents where in the air... as well as Haku had approached. Looking to him she sent a small nod and then looked back to the pups.* "Haku... their is a few weird scents in the air. We would take the pups back to the den and see whats around here." *Carmens ears folded back against her head as she said so, as well as her fur bristled up. Carmen knew it was a male wolf in the area.. as well as a female. Though she wasn?t sure if she was the only one around that could smell them.*

Kimaria
Gizmo yipped and nuzzled his brother cheerfully from where he stood by Aeria's side. Haku, this be Aeria. He yipped, momentarily forgetting all tension in the pack. He turned to nuzzle at her before speaking again. This brother Haku, he good, strong wolf. He wagged his tail and then turned to face Carmen.

The female was right, and it seemed Aeria was starting to feel the cold, just as he was. Nudging his friend lightly he would cant his head and point his muzzle in the direction of the den. We go to den now? He questioned, waiting for introductions to be completed.

Lethrossen
Kamali's tail gave a few more thumps as he spotted the leader, and he listened to Carmen with rapt attention, still silent.

Little quiet kam kam.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's tail wagged slightly as she was introduced to the pack's leader. Hello, Gizmo has told me lots about you.

She nodded to Gizmo. If it is alright with the other pack members... for me to go into the den, that is. She did not want to wear out her welcome with the group too quickly, and waited for permission to approach the den.

A Game of Tag
Kimaria
Gizmo stretched, he had slept a long time, but his sleep had been haunted with images of his parents...his siblings...refusing to leave him alone. They had occured ever since Sable had given him that news, the news he still didn't accept.

Yawning loudly he would clip his teeth together as it came to an end then stretch lazily. Standing up on his paws he shook his fur vigoroulsy before looking about him, it seemed others had woken up earlier than himself - which wasn't surprising.

Sitting back down at the base of the den he would lean forwards on one paw, lifting the other hind leg to scratch behind one ear, eyes closed as the itch was seen to. With a shake of his head he would give a small sneeze.

His stomach grumbled...

Friday_Dora
Aeria opened one eye, noticing the movements of the pup who had been previously asleep at her side. She lifted her head and tilted it to one side as she watched Gizmo.

Kimaria
Sensing movement Gizmo swivelled his head round, ears drawn forward and eyes settling upon the female pup. His heart gave a sudden flip and he barked a greeting. So it hadn't been a dream! Aeria really was here.

In his excitement he batted at her ear with a paw and pounced on her, rolling over her shoulders and landing on the ground beside her.

Glancing up sheepishly, he opened his jaws slightly, pink tongue lolling from his mouth. Hello!

Friday_Dora
The female pup rolled onto one side lazily, smiling at Gizmo. Hi Gizmo! She reached over with one paw and playfully swatted at his face.

It was nice being with Gizmo again, especially in such a safe setting. She vaguely remembered the two of them huddled together in the forest, surrounded by the terrifying skeletons of trees. It seemed like it had all happened so very long ago...

lilwerewolfgirl
*Lifting her tail from her nose Carmen looked around the cave, its been getting more crowded lately. Their where a few new and a few old scents into the air. Sniffinf deeply once she made a note of the different scents of her pack.*

*Her ear perked up as she thought for sure she heard someone say go hunting. Standing up rather sluggishly she wandered over to whom said so, Lera.* "Need any help catching some food?" *She said in a strong tone, she was saving up her energy for the chase of the prey.*

Lethrossen
Kamali stumbled a few steps foward with a small yip, then glanced to watch Lera head out. He then looked back to Gizmo and Aeria, but waited to approach the two.

Kimaria
The pup yawned again, smiling up at Aeria. Atleast now he could finally relax and not have to worry about anything, she seemed to have a calming effect on him that no other wolf had.

Also at the mention of hunting, Gizmo's ears would draw forward, waiting to see what was going to happen. He was ravenous!

You hungry Aeria? He asked, turning to her with golden eyes.

Friday_Dora
Aeria nodded. She remembered the rabbit that Lera had caught for her and unconsciously licked her lips at the thought of devouring the tender meat.

Are you hungry, too? It was a silly question, as she had heard his stomach grumble rather loudly just moments before.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded his muzzle and got to his paws, shaking his fur once more. I real hungry. He beamed down at her and then turned his eyes to Kamali with a questioning look. Hello Kam-Kam! he wagged his tail and bounded over to the pup, forgetting his shy nature and buffeting at him with the flat of his skull.

You play? He asked, directing the question to both pups.

Lethrossen
Kamali blinked in surprise and backed up worriedly, forgetting that Gizmo was just playing. aww cute. Then he heard his words and looked a little calmer. His tail gave a flick and something of a smile came upon his mug. "Play what?"

Friday_Dora
She rose to her feet and trotted several paces to where Gizmo and Kamali were. Aeria smiled slightly, her small pink tongue peeking out from behind her tiny teeth. I'll play too!

Aeria sat down next to the male pups, wagging her tail as she waited for them to decide what they were going to play.

Kimaria
Gizmo's nose twitched in thought and he tilted his head slightly. How bout tag? He wagged his tail happily and nipped at Aeria's ear, crouching in a play bow.

Yes? He asked, wanting to make sure this game suited all, he was sure he could come up with something else if there was a disagreement.

Lethrossen
Kamali wondered if he'd be any good at the game. Mostly he'd just play fight with his brothers and sister, and other litter mates. He winced at the memory and let it seep away.

His tail gave a few small wags. "Alright, who's it?" he'd known the general idea of the game, he'd just never played it.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped playfully as Gizmo's teeth grazed her ear, and she reared up on her back legs in an attempt to pounce on him.

Tag sounds fun! She landed inches away from the other pup, quickly bouncing back up to n** at his muzzle.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a small yip and leapt backwards as she tried to pounce on him. This game would be fun!

Dashing in a small circle he bounced in the air and tilted his nose to the entrance of the den. I be it first, give pups chance to run. He settled down on the floor of the den and waited for them to get ready before giving chase, it was only fair after all.

Friday_Dora
Aeria bolted for the exit of the den, coming to a sudden halt when her paws hit the snow. What was it she was supposed to do again? Run and Gizmo would tag her?

That seemed right. She took off once more, zig-zagging among the trees as she waited for the other two to catch up with her.

Lethrossen
He squeaked and bounded for the exit, tail flashing back and forth. His small tounge lolled from his mouth, as he gazed for a spot to make a 'get-a-way',

Kimaria
Gizmo trembled with excitement, he hadn't played this game for a long long time, and even when he had, it had been with his siblings who insisted on mocking him for his lack of speed and strength.

No...none of that mattered now, he was free from them!

He listened intently until their footsteps began to fade, before making a dash to the den entrance, throwing back his head and giving a puppy-howl as a sign that he had begun his "hunt".

Snuffling around he would let his eyes dart from tree to tree, picking up the two pups' scents easily. Yet which one to follow? Surely Aeria would be easier to spot in the snow.

He began at a slow trot, trying to decide who to go after first...Aeria or Kam...Aeria or Kam...

With a small yip - breath misting - he darted after the female, following her tracks in the snow and her scent that hung in the air.

Friday_Dora
She heard Gizmo's howl and began to run even faster. As Aeria loped over the snow-covered ground, she would occaisionally throw a glance over one shoulder to make sure Gizmo wasn't gaining on her.

It almost felt like she was the prey, and he was the predator. She imagined herself as a lightning-fast doe, evading the wolf who was attempting to capture her. She grinned as the imagery filled her mind, the life and death matters turning into a game.

His scent was growing closer, and she could hear his paws as they raced after her. Aeria went into overdrive, kicking up snow as she broke into a sprint.

Kimaria
Thump...thump...thump... the blood was pounding in his ears so loud he could barely hear anything at all and his heart was racing in his deep, pale chest.

His legs had grown strong, and he felt as if he could run forever, crossing the forest in a breath and seeing sights that he could hardly imagine. He wanted to howl and yip, he wanted to express his sheer joy in running but was afraid that he would warn Aeria of how close he was getting.

Snuffling at the air as he ran, ignoring the cold snow as it filled his nostrils the scent of water filled the air. Would she be going to the pond? If so then perhaps he did have a chance of catching her. With a small yip he bounded from the main path, bursting into the shrubbery and sprinting on. He would definately need a drink after this was over with.

Ignoring the ravenous complaints in his stomach he continued, holding head slightly lower, eyes narrowed to slits as he forced his way through the bushes. If he had run fast enough then hopefully he could cut her off before she reached the pond and take her by surprise. Oh he hoped he was correct, if not then he would search properly and track her by scent rather than instinct.

Friday_Dora
Aeria slowed a bit as a small body of water came into view. There was snow covering part of it, so she assumed it had perhaps frozen over. She trotted closer and set one paw on the surface to test it.

It seemed to be solid. She walked forward, looking around for Gizmo. She would be more vulnerable while on the pond, since there was no foilage to give her cover, but she thought perhaps she could cut across and then continue to run once she was on the other side.

Suddenly she felt the ice begin to shift under her paws. She stared down at the surface as it broke apart slightly, and when she turned to run one of her back legs fell through. She yelped loudly as the water made contact with her skin.

Cold! She pulled her leg free and headed back the way she had come, stopping once she was on solid ground once more. That had been a bad idea, she thought to herself.

Kimaria
A splitting, creaking noise caught at Gizmo's white ears as he neared the pond, the scent of icy water overpowering his nostrils as he loped on. The strange sound was followed by a splash and Gizmo's ears perked up at the unexpected sound.

With a burst of speed he appeared from the bushes and spotted a rather strange looking Aeria. He gave a small whimper, and dashed over to her, leaping with a height he didn't know was possible and knocking into her.

You wet! You cold! He yelped, untangling his limbs and staring at her in confused shock. How had she gotten so wet?

Friday_Dora
Aeria yelped again as Gizmo came falling from the sky and landed on her. She quickly went to the task of licking herself dry from the freezing water.

I tried to cross the pond, but then I started to fall in... She looked back up at him, her ears both going in different directions and her eyes wide and startled. She was the vision of a frazzled wolf pup who had just gotten herself into trouble.

Kimaria
Ice slippery...ice tricksy. Gizmo nodded, moving to her side and licking at her shoulder, nuzzling his nose into her wet fur.

After a moment or two he bounced back and gave another howl - a signal that someone had been tagged. Then leaning forwards slightly, he would grin at Aeria, shining golden eyes looking at her mischieviously.

You it! Then with an excited yip he turned tail and fled as fast as he could, wondering if Kam-Kam was somewhere nearby or hiding in some secret spot.

Friday_Dora
You tricked me! Aeria quickly got to her feet and began to chase Gizmo. He was a clever little pup, coming to find her under the pretense of actually being worried that she'd fallen into the pond...

She gave a small howl as she bounded after him, one limb still rather damp and cold.

Kimaria
Gizmo slowed his pace, deciding to wait for her to catch up a little, his path leading him back to the den. He knew it probably wasn't very safe to stray too far, but sometimes the pup in him wanted to disregard the dangers and have fun.

Right now was one of those times.

Spinning on his paw he would turn to face Aeria who had been persuing him and danced about her, frolicking happily in the snow and yipping a challenge. No pup could catch fast and intelligent Gizmo!

Catch! Catch! He squeaked, wagging his tail frantically and bounding in the snow, small yips erupting from his muzzle.

Kam was missing out on all the fun!

Friday_Dora
I'm gonna get you, Gizmo! Aeria yipped as the male pup teased her. She leapt through the snow, a flurry of paws and fur in hot pursuit of her game. Now Aeria was the huntress and Gizmo was the poor little critter being chased.

Her tongue was hanging from her mouth as her speed declined to a hasty trot. She was beginning to tire a bit, but she wouldn't give up until she had captured the elusive white and tan pup.

One final burst of speed nearly caught her up to him, and she growled in fake ferocity as she nipped after Gizmo.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a squeak of sheer joy at her challenge and dashed around once more before turning back towards the den, Haku's scent caught at his nose but he chose to ignore it for now, nothing mattered other than Aeria, especially now that she was catching up.

He too was beginning to feel the strain of running for such a long amount of time and had begun to slow.

He could hear the thrum of his own paws, and Aeria's as they struck the snow beneath them and knew she was going to get him. He gave a round of yips as he felt her n** at his heels.

He burst through the bushes and into the den area, eyes drawn to Haku who was curled up at the entrance. In that moment of distraction Gizmo made his mistake, tripping over a small rock and tumbling head over heels. He was done for!

Kouseki
Haku's eyes went wide as he saw the pup. "Gizmo, be careful." Rolling his eyes, he would glance to where he came from. Yawning slightly, he would sit up, his tail curled and his head up in an upright position, signalling him as alpha. he did have quite a fw to look after now.. Lera, Carmen, Gizmo, Aeria, Gaara, Lexi, Kalami.. Maybe others not to far away too.

The thought of them moving lands kept nagging at him, and he felt his insides tug slightly. But he kept his maw shut about it.

Friday_Dora
As Aeria rounded the bushes near the den she saw that she had gained the upper paw. Gizmo lay prone on the ground, helpless as she advanced upon him.

The pup narrowed her eyes as she crept ever-closer, pinning her ears backwards and curling her lip slightly. He could not escape the powerful she-wolf as she made her final move and pounced on him...

Tumbling on top of Gizmo, Aeria began to laugh in small yips, pawing at her friend and licking his face. That was fun! Let's do it again!

Kimaria
Squeaking cheerfully the rather rolly-polly pup nipped and batted at Aeria happily, she was clever and fast! She was a good wolf indeed.

He allowed himself to roll over, legs tangled with hers as they played in the snow, his tail beating a soft rhythm on the soft surface. Sitting up he would lick her nose and nudge at her shoulder before dashing to hide behind the large black wolf.

Hello brother. He greeted breathlessly, scrambling up to lay draped over the alpha's shoulders and peer at Aeria with a wide smirk. Play! We play! It seemed he had forgotten his empty stomach...for now atleast.

Kouseki
Haku rasied his eyebrow for a moment, before fliping the pup around and pinning him in the snow. With a small bark, he would nuzzle the pup playfully. "You two are cute together, you know that?" He would tease, his smirk never fading. With a slight yawn, he would look over Aeria.

"You seem very trust worthy." Giving her a slight not, he would kick some snow into the air and try to catch it in his mouth. Why shouldn;t he be able to act like a pup sometimes? Growling at the snow, he would kcik it up again, then trying to snap at the air.

Lethrossen
Kamali yawned, leaping onto a small boulder and curling up, tounge hanging from his mug. The solitude was nice. After his little rest he bounded off and headed back for the den.

It took him a little time, but Haku, Aeria and Gizmo all came into sight.

Friday_Dora
Aeria grinned at Gizmo and turned her head to gaze at Haku. She seemed to perk up a bit at his words. Thank you, Haku.

It amazed her how he could be an alpha and still seem so warm, so inviting. He was unlike other adult males she had known. Haku was playful and gentle with Gizmo; Gizmo had even called him "brother". He was special, indeed.

Kimaria
Gizmo would look a little confused, they looked cute together? Why didn't he look cute alone? With a small shrug he would wriggle out from the alpha's grip and bound over to Aeria

Aeria be trustworthy! Aeria good wolf! He yipped, wagging his tail in the snow and pressing his nose into the cold white flakes. Winter was quite fun even if it was cold.

Kouseki
Gizmo was SO cute. The alpha male nodded his head lightly. Yes, he was mean when he had to be, stood up for his pack when needed... But other than that, especailly around pups, he was a sucker. They were so cute, and he had a huge soft spot for them.

Most Gizmo.. He just wanted whatever was best for him. Spelling the faint scent of blood, he hoped it was a catch by Lera and Carmen, and not another issue to ruin this lovely day. Nothing seemed to go wrong. The huntresses out hunting, the pups at play...

Lethrossen
Kamali bounded into the seen, yipping a small greeting to those around, and trotted toward haku, to go past him, into the den.

Kimaria
Gizmo had never been happier, it seemed that pack-life held many more advantages than he had ever believed. He did not even consider that there might be wolves like Haku and Aeria out in the forest.

Constantly wagging his tail he touched noses gently with the female and dashed over to his brother, buffeting him on the shoulder with his head and standing up on hind legs to lick at his dark muzzle.

Now that the excitement of play had died down a little, the feeling of hunger crawled back to his stomach and he turned to glance at Kam who trotted past the alpha. Where Kam-Kam going? He yipped questioningly.

Friday_Dora
Wagging her tail, Aeria walked to the entrance of the den and lay down by it. She absently wondered how the older females were doing on their hunt, and what sort of food they would bring back.

She hadn't done much hunting, and certainly none with big game, but she was curious and eager to learn. She would have to ask them all about it once they returned.

Lethrossen
Kamali halted and glanced to Gizmo, giving him an expression of contentment. "Just into the den.." he regarded the three and shrugged lightly. he was not much of a playful pup.

The Shy One
Lethrossen
Kamali lay in his small corner, mug upon his paws, golden orbs glazed over as if he was spaced out, and indeed he was. Occationally one of his ears would flick, or his tail would curl away from his body and back.

He was bored, and mainly just thinking. Who knew about what?

Kimaria
Gizmo had been watching Kamali with silent confusion, he had never met such a shy and timid pup as that green one and it worried him a little. No pup - no matter what the cause - should be so serious. He needed cheering up, and Gizmo decided he would be the pup to do it, especially as it seemed the rest of the pack was asleep from gorging the buck that Carmen and Lera had brought back.

Getting up, he crossed over to where Kamali lay and nudged his shoulder with his pink nose.

Lethrossen
"Hmm?" his head jerked, as he came from his thoughs, and he let his tail hit the ground a few times in a greeting wag. "Hello Gizmo, is there something wrong?" He gave him a small, wolfish smile, head tilting to the side just a tad.

Strange, wasn't it? The though of play had not even entered Kamali's mind when Giz came over, just if something was wrong.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a quiet yip and went to sit in front of the smaller pup, sighing in disbelief, did he look as if something was wrong?

"You not play much for pup." Gizmo said bluntly, canting his head and peering at the other with curiosity.

Lethrossen
Kamali's eyes went wide as Gizmo said this, then he looked rather embaressed. Should he say he was sorry? It was not that he disliked playing.. it was just.. well he was scared of being rejected. ^ ^.

"I.. i.." what was one to say to that? "Sometimes I like being by myself... and the other times.." he shifted, tail flicking as he tried to think up some excuse.

Kimaria
Gizmo waited patiently, he was not the kind of pup who would ever rush anyone, but this behaviour of Kamali's disturbed him. He wanted the pup to be happy, and surely a happy pup would play!

With a small yip he would lower himself on his forepaws and n** at Kam's dark ears. Being alone good, being with others good too! He exclaimed, speaking from experience, for both situations did indeed have their advantages. He had come to the conclusion that a wolf needed a bit of both to be completely happy.

Lethrossen
Kamali squeaked and tugged his head back, head tilting. Well, did he want to have a conversation, or play! aha. His tail wagged a little more. "That's true.."

He watched a few more moments, before bounding to his feet, nipping at Gizmo's face, then swatting, rather lightly, at his mug. Rawr can you say sissy?

Kimaria
Bouncing on his paws, Gizmo circled the pup yipping excitedly, his tail wagging as he pounced in upon little Kam-Kam, being much gentler than usual. He didn't want to scare him by mistake.

Rolling about on the ground he would reach up and bat at Kamali with the pads of his paws, his tail beating a rhythm on the floor.

Lethrossen
Kamali have a playful, yet soft growl, rolling about with Gizmo. He nipped at the other pups face, then at the paws coming at him. After a moment he shoved, slightly harder than he normally would (which wouldn't hurt any ways.) Trying to playfully get the other off, giving a few playful barks.

Kimaria
Mission accomplished! Or atleast for the moment anyways.

Feeling quite proud of himself for cheering the little pup up, he would join in with the barking and felt a joy claim his heart as Kamali joined in. So the pup really could play properly when he put his mind to it.

Rolling about, legs entangled and tail wagging furiously Gizmo leapt onto his feet once more, running in a few dizzying circles and leaping at Kamali again. This was fun!

After a moment or two he gave a small yip and raising a tentative paw would pet Kam-Kam on the nose gently. You like play? He asked curiosly, canting his head and twitching his nose thoughtfully. He decided he liked this little pup a lot.

Meeting of a Stranger
Kimaria
Gizmo looked up sleepily, raising his head from his paws, ears drawing forwards as he watched Kamali and another begin to leave the den area. With a loud snuff he would stand up and shake his fur before sitting back on his haunches, raising one paw and licking it.

Tobias watched Kamali with interest, as he crouched slightly and his ears perked up. He seemed to be listening and smelling for any small animal. Tobias stood stalk still, trying to be very silent. Then, he decided he should probably back up a bit, and so backed up into the den. Settling down to watch, he was startled by a loud snuff. Jumping, he turned to see another pup. So the den wasn't empty after all.

"H-hello?" He said quietly, still in surprise and trying not to disturb Kamali.

Kimaria
With a loud yawn the pup blinked his golden eyes, which were fuzzy from sleep and dropped his raised paw back to the den's floor. He tilted his head towards the strange pup and wrinkled his snout, not quite sure what to make of the situation.

Giz could not help but notice that this newcomer smelt familiar to Kamali and spoke in the same timid way. Perhaps they were close friends?

Hello...you friend of Kam-Kam's? He swished his tail in greeting but remained where he was.

strawberry jelly
Tobias grinned at Kamali's nickname.

"Yes, actually." Tobias replied, "We're actually... brothers."

He wondered briefly whether he should have divulged that information, but decided that it wasn't really a secret. Not to him, anyways, and he could see no reason why it would be to Kamali.

"He's brought me here to get me some food. I don't really know how to hunt well..." He trailed off a bit, wondering if all these pups knew how to hunt. He'd probably look stupid. But, He thought, I'll learn soon, I hope.

Kimaria
If the stranger had said anything else after this new declaration of being siblings with the minty green pup, Gizmo did not hear it. His mind was reeling, thoughts echoing his first statement...they were brothers.

Golden eyes widened in shock, and he jumped to his feet taking a few steps back until his rump met with the wall of the den. His hackles raised in agitation and his ears flattened against his skull at the strangers words.

brother...brothers, Kam-Kam and this stranger were brothers!

Shaking his muzzle a small growl bubbled up in his throat, not directed towards this other pup but at the memories flooding into his mind.

Sable... He whispered, eyes glossy with refreshed grief.

Then as if remembering where he was his eyes snapped up to meet that of the pup's, a look of apology whirling in them. Lowering his head he would whimper, the fur along his shoulders smoothing once more, his tail curling about one leg.

Sorry...

strawberry jelly
Tobias glanced up at the other pup. He seemed to not be listening to him, but almost shocked. Slowly, he started to back up until he met the wall. With confusion, Tobias glanced behind himself to make sure there was no big, scary thing that was causing the other pup to do this. There wasn't. Looking back, he saw that the pup looked quite agitated now.

"Umm-" He began, then stood up as the other pup began to growl. He readied himself in case this pup wanted to fight him. Why would he be angry? The other pup whispered something that sounded likea name to Tobias, but then, as suddenly as the anger showed, it stopped. He looked sad, now. The pup whimpered and apologized. Perhaps he wasn't angry at Tobias? Still utterly confused, Tobias sat back down again and curled his tail around him, staring questioningly at the other pup.

Kimaria
He had not seen his brother since that day by the river, he had been but a mangled little thing, soaking wet and covered in blood. It had stung his nostrils and eyes until they burned. Even now he could not tear the image from his mind, and with it came the news...the grief and pain that his brother always managed to inflict upon him.

His brother had apologised...he had told him how sorry he was, and that they were the same. But how could they be? Sable was rude and nothing but a bully, in Gizmo's eyes the pup had no redeeming features. Yet something racked at him, causing his body to tremble with grief and shame. His brother wasn't the kind pup he would have wanted as a sibling but they shared the same blood, that could never be changed. They were the sole survivors of their dead pack and he had wanted nothing to do with him.

Was he dead?

Was he alive somewhere with the wolf he had named as a friend?

Closing his shining and watery orbs he would raise his muzzle a little and imagine life as it had been. Nosing at his mother's side, his brother and sisters wriggling up beside him and squeaking, demanding food. His small body was crushed beneath other furry bodies, unwanted by his mother and bullied by his brother and two sisters. He saw himself in his father's eyes, not a wolf but some disgusting little creature just pretending.

When he had left, sneaking through the undergrowth with nothing but the gentle moon watching him he had felt a great weight lift from him. Using the snow to hide his white body he had soon become lost in a blizzard, ice that scratched at his little, unprotected body. He had never felt love from his pack but now...was it wrong for him to disown Sable? The pup had been influenced by his parents and doing what he believed was right, could he truly have changed? Perhaps they could be true wolf brothers like Kam-Kam and this other seemed to be...

Shaking his head sadly he glanced up at the stranger and gave a small whuff, he hadn't meant to frighten this other.

I Gizmo, and you be? He wanted to forget his past, he wanted to pretend that it didn't exist and yet events occurred where he was forced to remember it...would he live the rest of his life feeling like this?

Playtime
strawberry jelly
Tobias watched as the other seemed to be immersed in memories. He knew that feeling. He shifted a bit, and curled his tail around him a bit more. Then the other spoke.

"I'm Tobias. Hello, Gizmo." He looked apon the other pup with a bit of sadness, and a bit of respect. He seemed to have been through a lot. He didn't know what is was, but he felt his heart go out to the pup. Memories seemed to be a cursed thing.

Kimaria
Gizmo wagged his tail cheerfully, Tobias seemed like a strong and noble name indeed, he liked this other pup a lot.

Moving up to lay in the entrance of the den, enjoying the cool breeze ruffling through his fur he turned his eyes to look at the other and blinked. Glad to meet Tobie He spoke turning his head to stare out of the forest. Where Kam-Kam going?

Otsune
Lera was currently laying around the den lazily, just her head poking out of the entrance. It was a sunny day and it shone off of the newly fallen snow. She gave a wide yawn as she licked her nose. Around this time so many things were changing, or comming back to life, including her own body. She had noticed a change in herself, the way she acted and the way she smelt.

Lera was unusually late in the season to be comming into heat, but she ignored that matter. Perhaps the other she-wolves were just early? she would think to herself. Yet she ignored this, and looked about for other; many things on her mind.

Kimaria
Gizmo was still confused and muddled about his conversation with Kam-Kam's brother, not sure what to think or do. He was sitting close to the entrance of the den, staring out of the forest with unfocused eyes, his white tail curled about him.

Tobias seemed like a nice enough pup and Gizmo wondered if he had joined the pack. He had not heard anything mentioned about it but decided it wasn't his role to worry on something like that.

With a sneeze he turned his head and spotted Lera, wagging his tail and drawing his ears forward in greeting.

Otsune
Lera had not met this wolf named Tobias, but had only heard of him vaguely from Kamali. She arched her back and stretched her limbs out to their fullest extent. Felt good <3

Lera couldn't wait until they moved, which would most definatly be soon. Yet the words from the striped wolf plagued her mind, there were known hunters in the east, yet when weren't there? She gave a bit of a sigh. It was then she noticed Kamali moving towards her. She, too, pulled her ears forward and gave a happy wolf grin in greeting. "Good morning, Gizmo," she said.

strawberry jelly
Tobias was startled to realize there was yet another wolf in the den! How unobservant he was. This was a much older she-wolf, not a pup like many of the other wolves he'd met. She was much larger too. He felt a little intimidated. But when in another pack's den, he should be polite. So he decided to introduce himself.

"Hello." He said, softly. He wondered if she'd hear him, for it was actually quite quiet.

Kimaria
Hello Lera! Gizmo would yip, turning his eyes to glance at Tobias who had stayed by the den. Yes, he could see the similarities between the two pups, Kam-Kam was lucky to find his brother indeed.

Wagging his tail, Gizmo got up onto his paws and dashed over to Lera's side, nuzzling against her shoulder in greeting.

Tobie still here? Wait for Kam-Kam?

Otsune
Lera gave a grin and gladly accepted the nuzzle to her shoulder. She took hir ear in her mouth and lightly tugged, as if playing. But wait...Tobie..? Who the heck was tobie? O_o Lera turned her head to see the small pup. His features were oddly similar to Kamali's, as in the way his face was shaped, but the markings weren't in the least bit similar. Who was this pup? was this the wolf that Kamali had been talking about...?

"Ah, hello there," Lera said, a little bit confused at the whole situation.

strawberry jelly
Tobias nodded to Gizmo. "Yes, I'm waiting for Kamali to come back... I hope you don't mind if I wait here." He curled his tail around him some more, feeling a bit nervous around so many other wolves. He hadn't been around them for so long, it was as if he had forgotten how to act! He watched, mildly interested, the interactions between the older, she-wolf and Gizmo, and wondered if Kamali was having success hunting.

Oh! He thought, I was supposed to follow him, wasn't I? He had totally forgot, after talking to Gizmo. Now he'd never learn how to hunt, he supposed.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded, and shook his head, lifting his forepaws from the ground and trying to balance on his hind legs so he could n** at Lera's own ears. In the end he resorted to using her shoulder to keep himself from toppling over, raising his head and nipping at her playfully.

He paused only to speak to Tobias again, not wanting the pup to fill uncomfortable. Kam-Kam won't mind, you stay here with us.

Otsune
Lera would tilt her head back to keep Gizmo from reaching her ears, grinning mischeiviously. "So you must be Tobias, Kamali's brother?" Lera said looking over to the splotched wolf while still trying to avoid Gizmo. "And you may wait here."

Lera rolled onto her back which resulted with Gizmo falling on her stomach. hehe, no ears for him! X3

strawberry jelly

Tobias stared at the older she-wolf, confused now. How did she know that he was Kamali's brother? Had Kamali talked about it before? Before this, they had both presumed the other dead. But... He thought, Maybe he spoke of memories to her?

"How did you know we were brothers?" Tobias asked.

Kimaria
With a surprised squeak Gizmo fell forwards, lying draped over the large female's stomach, her ears now well out of reach. He blinked in surprise, trying to get onto his paws but failing.

He good pup Lera. Gizmo added as he heard Tobias' introduce himself, before trying to turn himself round so he could try and reach the wolf's ears again.

Otsune
Lera rolled back onto her stomach, which made Gizmo rotate to her back X3

"Kamali had previously spoken to me," she said, looking to Tobias and giving him a gentle smile."And I'm sure he is a very good pup," she said, looking back to Gizmo.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a soft sigh and settled onto Lera's back, his tail wagging as he glanced around at the forest. With a small whimper he would once again try to get up, just about managing to balance on his paws upon Lera's back. With another yip he would raise his muzzle a little, proud of his accomplishment.

Otsune
"aaahhhhh, your cruuuussshhiinnnggg meeee!" Lera groaned and wailed in what was merely just an act. She turned her head back and gave a grin and then suddenly stood up. Oh, it was on >D

She was suddenlt taken by surprise as Carmen rushed in with Gizmo hanging from her mouth, all bloody. Lera had noticed the rabbit, but why the heck was Carmen acting like she was panicked? o.-

Ah, she thought he was injured. She supposed it made sense, but Lera had to restrain all her senses to keep herself from giggling. Lera still had bits of her younger self left in her and these would bubble to th surface on occasion.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a yip of shock, was he really hurting her? Then he caught the mischievious look in her eyes and he gave a small huff, wagging his tail, eyes sparkling at Lera's loud exclamation.

He paused when the others entered, and watched silently, wondering what had happened. The scent of blood reaching his nose.

Lethrossen
Kamali blinked, looking around and wagged his tail at Gizmo and Lera. He noticed Tobias has curled up and slept ((because of lack of owner :O)) and frowned a bit. Aww he'd gone through all that effort to get the rabbit!

Oh he could eat when he woke. "Hello."

Otsune
Leradien's attention turned back to Gizmo as she shook her body, trying to remove the pesky pup. "Kam, help meeeee!" Lera yowled as she fell to her side, her legs running in the air. "The monster...is going to eat me!" she said sarcastincly, her bright face smiling.

PLay was good for pups. If they knew nothing about play and had just learn to hunt and to fight then would good was a body that was given to your soul. She had promised to herself that no generations after theirs would have to suffer the hasrhness of the world.
"Quick! before this monster eats my bbrraainnnss!" she yelped again.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a squeak of surprise leaping from Lera's back as she rolled onto her side, diving at her with forepaws outspread. His tail wagged so fast it was nothing but a blur and his pink tongue lolled from his mouth as he bounded sideways and tried to catch her ears in his mouth.

I no monster! He yipped cheerfully, rising up on his hind legs to paw at the air before leaping forwards again, determined to prove his strength.

Lethrossen
Kamali yipped a bit, almost as if giggling, but hesitated to join in. He didn't want to get hurt! ( stare sissy.) His tail wagged lightly as he watched then he barked, dashing toward the pair and leaping at Gizmo playfully.

Otsune
Lera grinned as she batted at Gizmo's maw with her large front paws. Her own tail wagged quickly , happy to emit a positive attitude. She was even happier when she saw the shy pup, Kamali join in. "Quick Kam! get 'em!" she barked as she wiggled beneath Gizmo. As gizmo jumped off of her she laid her head against the ground, hiding her ears beneath her skull.

Kimaria
Gizmo turned just in time to see a little mass of minty green fur leaping towards him. He gave a small 'oof' sound as he toppled sideways, momentarily forgetting about Lera and reaching out to bat at Kam-Kam's nose with a paw.

In the next second he was once again pouncing at the large female trying to get at her ears, whilst turning his head to n** lightly at Kamali.

Lethrossen
Kamali was glad he felt comfortable with these too, glad he'd joined in on the play. He stumbled back from Giz's nips, then tugged at his tail, lightly growling. He was trying to pull him off of lera!

But wait! Lera was big! Surely she could take both of them? (>D) he let go of Gizmo's tail and lept at Lera too, nipping at the adult.

The Monster and the Marble Maiden
Dagi
Conroy the fox awoke with a start. For some reason he wasn't the light sleeper he had once thought he was for he had slept for a long time! And during his time of sleep the wolves that owned this little den had crawled back in. The pup froze as his intelligent eyes scanned the place; it was crawling with wolves... Ok there were about three BUT STILL, that's alot when you're so small. He gulped and looked around; he had been tumbling about in his sleep and was no longer near the exit to the den. Great, he was screwed; the wolves would eat him for sure! Hopefully they were'nt mad about him stealing their food and taking cover in their den. He'd have to make his way out of their without becoming wolf chow... But how?

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a small, playful growl and leapt at Kamali, tumbling to the ground in a flurry of limbs. The floor of the den greeted him as he rolled about on the ground, his tail thumping against it joyfully. With a small squeak he would reach up and n** at Kam's ears before finding his feet and dash over to Lera, scrambling onto her side, only to roll head over heels and land on the den's floor on the other side.

With a small 'oof' sound he would sit up and lick at his nose, turning round sheepishly to face Kamali and give a few yips. It was then when he was catching his breath that a very strange scent caught at his nostrils...

Dagi
The lithe fox's eyes went even wider as he saw a rather large wolf pup tumble near him.
"Homygoshtooclose!"
He wanted to run but his stupid legs didn't want to work. Things got worse as the little thing started to sniff about and a confused look came over it. This was when the fox started to shake in fear; he was done for and there was no escaping what was to happen next. He had been noticed by this mighty predator and surely this was his last second before being devoured.

Ansata Myst

Monenoke padded through the bushes her small black nose twitched taking in the scents that were scattered on the air. Her marble like eyes scanned around to find another pup that looked a bit younger then she. Monenoke gave a playful yip her tail wagged presenting herself as no threat to Gizmo.

Kimaria
Gizmo snuffled noisily getting up onto his paws and turning to face this strange creature, leaping backwards he lifted his lips up to reveal his small white teeth, his hackles rising automatically. This new thing smelt strange...very strange indeed, and it frightened him.

With a low growl he began to back away, up to the entrance and out into the snow, eyes fixed upon the strange thing that had invaded his home.

A strange and sudden yip sounded behind him, scaring him half to death as he whirled around to face the new danger. Was he being surrounded? Was this the danger his brother had been talking about? Flattening himself to the ground he snarled and leapt forwards, his small form flying towards the new danger. Perhaps if he could knock down this 'thing' then he could make an escape.

Mid-leap his golden eyes widened as he realised that this new danger was a wolf pup! With a strangled squeak he turned his body so that he fell to the snow just beside her, turning his head to look up apologetically.

You not danger? He asked, canting his head in confusion.

Dagi
Closer and closer the beast came and as he tried; Conroy the fox could not seem to make himself run. And then he saw them, the very weapons that would deliver his death, ENORMOUs FANGS OF IVORY! Well not too enomous but still pretty big. The fox felt himself getting lightheaded; might as well die unconcious if anything. Then the wolf started to growl at him; oh what a horrid sound it was! And then a bark came from outside then dan. This was just too much for the poor fox. He right on toppled over and fainted from fear. His last thoughts were something about how it was a pity to give himself up so easily to these beasts; perhaps he'd try again in another life.

Ansata Myst
She watched the pup curiously as he investigated what seemed to be a fox hole. She watched as Gizmo leaped out to attack her. She was confused, so instinctivly she let out a whine, growlish whimper. (xD not sure if that's possible) She then watched as he redirected his course, but just in case she moved to the side. "I'm not danger... I'm Monenoke." She said with slight humor.

Kimaria
Letting out a deep sigh Gizmo pushed his nose into the snow, glad that this wasn't some kind of secret attack. He hadn't seen Haku around and he felt strangely unprotected without the large Alpha watching over him.

Pulling himself up onto his haunches he would snuffle at this new female and tilt his head slightly. She seemed to be a little older than him and her fur was a pretty shade of purple that reminded him of the sky just before snowfall.

What a strange name she had! He had never heard one that long and tongue-twisting in his whole entire life. Drawing his ears forward he would part his jaws, tongue hanging out and breath misting before his muzzle.

Mon-enok-enoke He repeated, stumbling over the syllables, You look like snowy sky. He added, not really thinking about what he was saying. I Gizmo.

He then turned his attention back to the den, snuffling at the scent. Why was the 'thing' not emerging to attack him?

Dagi
Why hadn't he attacked and why wasn't he attacking? Short simple answer; the fox was out cold. The notion to attack hadn't even come to his mind. Seeing wolves take down huge bucks and other hooved prey didn't really make the odds fair. Wolf vs. Conroy, if he had been awake he would have sheepishly laughed at the idea.... Eessh, it's a tough world...

Ansata Myst
She leaned forward and sniffed him then looked at him. She stood on each paw with her tail still wagging. "It's Mone-no-ke, but say it fast." She said cocking her head at how he said it. "or... maybe Noke for short." She paused for a second to repeat his name, "Gizmo..." Her gaze followed his back towards the den. Her ears perked foward as she tried listening for whatever 'it' was.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded, and also turned to face the den, a small whimper breaking free as his tail curled about his hind leg. Mone-no-no-kaye He shook his head and wrinkled his nose, running his eyes over her marbled fur. I call long-named wolf Marble. He gave a wolfish grin before taking a tentative step towards the den, listening for any sounds of movement. Gizmo had given his own little nicknames to all the pups he had met, it was just a little habit of his.

The silence which greeted him made him even more nervous than a sound would have done.

Ansata Myst
She nodded, finding that she had a new nickname. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as Gizmo moved closer so she followed him soon to pass him. She noticed that Gizmo seemed nervous surely there was some terrible creature in there. She grinned, and approached it all the more daring.

Kimaria
Gizmo hung back a little, watching after the marbled pup with slight fear. Monster in there, scary monster! He squeaked, taking yet another step forwards, part of him wanting to stay back and the other half wanting to go with her to make sure she was okay.

Dagi
In all his unconciousness Conroy's legs started twitching for a few moments; causing the dirt he was laying on to shuffle about. Blek, it was dusting up his poor, pretty pelt! But that couldn't be helped.

Ansata Myst
"Monster, eh?" She paused, as her ears perked forward. She heard nothing, not even the slightest sound. She then continued moving closer towards the cave. The pup finally made it to the mouth of the den. Her nose twitched taking in that strange scent. She turned back to Gizmo. "You coming?" Then she heard movement from inside her ears swerved to lock on to the target. But she waited for Gizmo's reply. Now, although she couldn't help it she felt the slight sense of fear.

Kimaria
At her question he gave a small 'eep' sound and dashed over, using her back as a headrest as she peered inside. It was at that moment when a faint shuffling sound reached his ears and he gave a small whimper, wishing that his big brother was here to protect him. He wasn't sure if they could take on such a fierce looking thing that had taken refuge in his home.

We go together...safety in numbers. He murmured, hoping that she didn't notice his legs trembling or the clicking of his teeth as he spoke.

Ansata Myst
She nodded as she walked in, she gave a small yip. It was nothing of fear or pain, but just.... curiousity that she found this strange creature. She paused trying to decide whether or not to approach it.

Kimaria
Tail tucked firmly between his legs and head lowered so that his snout almost touched the ground, he followed this brave female back into the den. The strange scent tore up to attack his nostrils almost instantly and his hackles bristled up, another growl bubbling in his throat.

Oh moons above, what was this strange thing in his home!?

Shuffling forwards to stand just beside Marble he would give a small whimper, nosing at her flank. What is it? He whispered.

Ansata Myst
She didn't feel that this creature presented a danger, but she was light on her heels ready to take flight at any moment. She lowered her head to inhale the strange scent. She noticed it wasn't moving. "I dunno, it's not moving..." she paused deep in thought. "maybe... it's dead." Then she went into deeper thought, how could be dead if they heard movement. Thousands of different thoughts crammed through her skull as she looked at it to see it was indeed breathing. "No...no... that couldn't be it." She took another daring step forward and actually touched it with her nose then jerked it back, just in case.

Dagi
The touch of a cold nose was all Conroy needed to pop him back into the wolrd of the living. He was still on his back when his eyes shot open to reveal the sight of two upside-down wolves staring at him like they'd never seen a fox pup before. The pup tucked his legs in closer and didn't move;he kept his eyes on the two wolves. He wondered what they were planning to do with him.... And also why he was still alive. He acctually hadn't noticed that yet. He batted at his maw with a paw to confirm his suspicions; he was indeed still alive! Oh glorifull day! How swee the air smelled (if one was to ignore the wolf scent), how wonderful the breeze felt, how nice the dirt felt; oh the things one takes for granted! The fox giggled to himself with happiness; forgetting bout the wolves for the moment.

Dagi
Conroy hopped back onto four paws. It was now evident to him that the new wolf was not intending to kill him. He took a step towards the outside of the cave and spotted that whitey-brown pup with pink ears that had scared him into unconciousness a few minutes earlier. Conroy froze and frowned. He didn't seem to vicious anymore... He looked like a totally different wolf; cowering on the florr like that. Conroy pointed to Gizmo with a paw for no good reason. Maybe he could try to communicate with this not so bright looking creature,

"You... MEAN WOLF! "

He huffed and sat down; whether the pup had understood him or not was beyond his reconing but it was worth at least a try.

Kimaria
His eyes widened in fright as the creature began to speak in some strange language that he would never be able to understand. Trembling violently he took a small step back, and then another, quickening his pace until he finally gained enough courage to turn tail and flee.

He was doing it again...leaving a pup behind to save his own pelt. When would he ever find his courage?

The River Crossing

Page 10 -- 14

Summary:

I watched the waters surface where the light swayed
as I floated in your sea
Listening carefully to the voice I hear,
I entrusted my body to the movements of the waves.

The voice that calls me out of a light sleep
spreads out with a dizzy feeling,
becoming a ripple.

Only gentle times
pass by slowly,
without anything such as
loneliness or emptiness

As if being enveloped by the scent of that day
I want to keep sleeping right here, like this.

Like a shell wandering between the waves,
I dream that I was
washed up on the shore.

I feel the sky,
coming closer and closer...
I can't tell
if it's real, or an illusion.

The me you left behind lives on.
I'm just beginning to realize
I can't stay here.

The voice that calls me out of your sea
spreads out with a dizzy feeling,
becoming light.

Jade - a new friend
Kimaria
Having grown bored of staying in one place, and growing weary of all the excitement, Gizmo had decided to take a walk, he wanted to explore this new terrain and perhaps find a furry to eat. He was ravenous and hoped that he hadn't forgotten how to hunt, it had been a long time since he and Carmen had gone hunting for the long eared furries.

Snuffling beneath the trees he would catch a strange scent in his nostrils, and pause in step, canting his head curiously. What could it be?

Raising his muzzle he gave a small yip, hoping that whatever was nearby was friendly.

Russtiie
A relaxed Jade lay by the tranquil river, surrounded by the calls of nature's beauty. Jade adored her quiet time, where she could escape and supress the tender emotions of her parents disappearance. A cool breeze ruffled her bottle green fur where she collapsed into a complete state of meditation.

Jade's siesta was disturbed by a ruffling through the nearby trees. The snapping of a twig forced open her eyes, where she lifted her head to scan the immediate area. Seeing nothing, yet senseing something, she persisted onto her feet and slowly trudged into the forest searching for the cause of the noise.

Kimaria
Gizmo lowered his head as he continued onwards, eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger. All the scents here were so new and exciting, but he couldn't help but feel a little afraid.

He moved as quietly as possible for such a clumsy pup, ears drawn forward and nose sniffing at the ground. Yes there was definately something nearby, but what, it smelt similar.

He continued onwards, loping along the forest path, glancing this way and that, wondering whether he should try and call out again.

Russtiie
Trepidation and exhiliration built up within Jade as the approaching sound of leaves crushing, hit like a speeding locamotive. Jade suddenly came to a hault as a shadow pathed the forest's track. Raising her head cautiously, she saw the beginning of a pale cross brown wolf, who's full figure emerged as she abrublty lifted her head - no longer afraid. A warm rush passed through her body, half relief that it was no predator, half ecstatic to be meeting a wolf, appearing her age.

After a moment of examination she took three steps forward, stood correctly and smiled politely. And I thought you were some kind of danger! She chuckled and then wanting to maintain her politeness, swallowed her laughter. I'm Jade, and it's a pleasure to meet you.

Kimaria
Gizmo froze mid-step, another wolf! Another wolf who appeared to be roughly the same age as himself! Relief flooded through him as he wagged his tail and canted his head towards her.

I not danger. He confirmed, taking another few steps towards the green fem. I Gizmo. He added after she introduced herself. She seemed like the cheerful, polite type and already Gizmo felt he could trust her.

He wrinkled his nose in thought and glanced about him before once again returning his golden eyes onto the female. Jade live here?

Russtiie
Gizmo. I like that name! It sounds as if it were made up of many parts. Like some sort of mechanical human contraption! Like this one I once saw... Realising she was rambling she ended her sentence, and the feeling of blood rushed to her cheeks. Jade let out a small giggle, of pure humiliation, and quickly began a fresh sentence. I live not too far from here. How about you?

Kimaria
This female sure did use long words, and Gizmo barely caught any of them. Something about parts...and lots of them. He gave a wolfish grin, tongue lolling from his mouth as he turned his head back and pointed his nose in the direction he had come from.

Pack new, moved from West. He returned his gaze to the female, Human? he murmured, You talk about two-legs? He had heard that their territory was around here somewhere, and he was a little nervous about living around them. Two-legs near here? He felt the fur along his neck bristle slightly.

Russtiie
Jade finally caught onto Gizmo's speech impediment, realising she must slow down. She subtlety smiled - finding Gizmo adorable. When and on what basis was this decision to re-locate made? Her speech became incredibly prolonged. Feeling as it could be percieved as rudeness, she shortened her words and spoke with articulation, rather than with extended syllables. Why did your pack move?

Noticing his frightened response and expression about the human's she stood close, attempting to comfort her new found friend. We are safe here. Jade smiled fondly at Gizmo and gazed into his lemon yellow eyes. Jade believed you could read someone through their eyes, and from Gizmo she could see he was genuine, compassionate and knew he was someone she would want to get close with.

Can you take me to your home?

Kimaria
]Grateful that she seemed to be speaking in a way that he could understand he wagged his tail a little faster, I not know really. He still found it strange that they had left, he had liked their old home, but he was sure he would get used to this new area in time, Pack big, need big space. He tilted his head thoughtfully, he supposed that this was one of the main reasons for their leaving, as well as their need to put as much distance between themselves and other wolves who disliked them.

He was even more glad to hear that they would be safe here, he didn't really want to meet any two-legs especially without his pack around to protect him.

At her final question he would pause for a long time, considering what might happen if he walked back into the territory with this strange female. Would they accept her with the new puppies around? He hoped so, no wolf should be forced into solitude if they didn't want to be alone.

I try...Haku need see you.

Russtiie
Noticing the concerntration and thought Gizmo translated into his answer's, she grinned again at the friendly pup. Jade became incredibly excited when she thought of meeting the head of Gizmo's pack. Suddenly a thousand thoughts ran through her mind. What would she say? How would she present herself? Would he like her? Would she be accepted? Slowing her mind down and taking a few deep breaths she calmed down and decided she would take one step at a time. She smiled at Gizmo and pointed with her nose beyond him, Lead on.

Jade had only taken a couple steps when a tingle ran down her spine, caused from a distant call of the human. Jade began to take deep breath's and closed her eyes momentarily. Not wanting to alarm Gizmo, she dry swallowed and tried to subtlety hurry their pace up.

As the duo began walking, speeding up gradually, Jade became extremely anxious hearing footsteps of several humans. The danger of their situation began to frighten the in-experienced pup. Her eyes glazed with water, barely seeing the path in front of them, she turned to Gizmo attempting to comfort him with a fraudulent smile. Gizmo. Let's play a game. I will race you back to your pack's home! Jade enforced the "game" with a hasty sprint, not knowing the direction of Gizmo's pack, but attempting to escape the risky encounter with the humans.

Kimaria
Gizmo's ears perked up as a strange sound reached them, this would probably have caused him to panic if it had not been for Jade's previous words. She had said they were safe and he would trust her.

It was only when she turned to him with a watery smile that he felt a shudder of fear run cold in his veins. Something was bothering Jade and he guessed it was something to do with the sounds.

Then before he could say anything more she had dashed off, the fur along his neck bristled as he fought to keep up with her. He had not had a good run in a long time and it felt...amazing.

The adrenaline raced through him and his paws lost their clumsiness as he burst through the trees, keeping the female in sight just ahead of him. The wind through hs fur felt just right and if he had felt brave enough he would have thrown back his head and howled. As it was he knew that doing such a thing might alert danger and instead he continued silently.

It was only when the feeling began to fade that he had realised they were running the wrong way. With a small yip he bounded forwards with a speed he didn't know he had and ran alongside the female, turning his head towards her.

Wrong...way. He panted, then turning his head forwards once more he raised his nose to the wind and caught a very desirable scent. Long-ears! He whooped, and increased his speed, You want hunt?

Russtiie
Jade, flushed with natural ecstacy from the run, noded willingly to Gizmo's request. Following his direction, the human threat passed through her mind, and the excitement of the hunt flowed in.

Jade's eyes widened as they rushed past a burrow certifying lunch was close by. Jade slowed down and began prowling with Gizmo. Jade had little experience hunting, and what she had was quite un-successful. Jade mimicked Gizmo's every action, observing to the upmost detail. She was the student and he was her teacher.

Kimaria
Gizmo began to slow his pace, knowing that every sound could send the long-ears into a mad dash for their burrows. Canting his ears forward he would come to a complete halt, sniffing delicately at the air and slowing his breathing until it was back to normal.

Lowering his head he would turn back to the green fem and whisper, long-ears there. He then directed her by pointing his pink nose at the bushes, On other side. He continued before craning his back and glancing at the rabbit hole.

That probably long-ear home. He crouched lower, Long-ears run to hole, Jade break them before do this.

He would lower his voice even more, I go round, chase long-ear to you. Jade break neck and we have food.

It was a situation similar to the one he and Haku hunted in, he just hoped it would work. Before he continued on with the plan he waited to see if the female would have anything to say, for she might have another idea.

Russtiie
Jade too caught her breath, and copied Gizmo's every move. She was terrified of embaressing herself on their first hunting trip. She reluctantly agreed to Gizmo's plan, hoping she would be able to perform with success.

Just as she stepped back and prepared to begin, she muttered to Gizmo. Swap! I will chase, you kill. Please! Feeling extremely nervous she began to shift her weight back and forth between her feet.

Kimaria
Gizmo's eyes widened slightly, he had not expected this change, but he supposed it would make no difference who did what. With a curt nod he moved to stand beside the den, snuffling at the entrance before turning his eyes back to the green pup. Okay, I wait here.

He wagged his tail cheerfully and leapt up onto the slope above the hole, and flattened himself against the ground so that he became almost completely hidden.

Russtiie
Jade slowly crept along the ground, almost un-noticeable. She wanted to impress Gizmo, so her whole focus was on the single rabbit, completley committed to this plan, she moved into position.

Jade pounced off the ground, speeding at their prey with all her power. She darted in every direction the rabbit attempted to escape, forcing him backwards, where he scampered for his burrow. Jade's heart was pounding, the excitement rushed through her body, as the dual between the hunter and prey closed in!

Kimaria
It was in this part of the hunt that Gizmo's heart would race with excitement and impatience, he wanted to snarl and bark, and it took all his control to remain silent, eyes watching Jade's chase intently. Then it happened, the rabbit turned swiftly and began to head towards it's burrow and Gizmo prepared for the pounce.

This was the part he always found difficult, jumping too soon so that the prey might escape and so he made himself wait until the last minute. He let himself drop, his body landing on the terrified rabbit just as it was about to dissapear into it's burrow.

Clamping his jaws upon one of it's thrashing hind legs he twisted his head and broke it clean in half. It's scream of agony echoed about the forest and fearfully Gizmo batted it roughly aside with one paw and tore out it's throat, looking up to wait for Jade to return.

The Masked Wolf
Thalion
Feanaro sighed, lifting his head up from his paws. It was nearly mid-day judging from the position of the sun. The clouds had multiplied and darkened, the air was more crisp and bore scent threatoning of snow or at the very least rain... it would probibly be later that night or at the latest early morning. It was the day before the second moon from when he was to return to Devvyl and Selia's packlands to discuss the issue with the two-legs. It was a trip he wasn't too thrilled to be taking again- after his hunt he wished only to rest and let the food settle itself. With a silent grunt he pushed from the incline and stepped from it, pausing to rub his scent on the rock, Eat... I will return.

He allowed himself a brisk pace towards the east- he was already far from the stream and the main wood. A good run would do him good, get the food from him and lighten his spirits. Suuru launched himself from his shoulder and rose up into the sky, flying above him. It wasn't clear quite yet where they were going or why- he was rather following Feanaro along his path.

Kimaria
Gizmo had made himself content, tearing the caught long-ears in half so that he could share the meal with the green female when she returned from chasing the furries around.

He gave a wide yawn and settled himself on his stomach just above the rabbit's burrow and began to lick his forepaws, wandering what else he and the fem could do.

Truth be told, he didn't feel like returning to the pack just yet, he wanted to explore a bit more and enjoy his freedom whilst it lasted. It's not like they needed him around anyway, he was just a pup and no good for protecting the puppies, he was much better being here and keeping out of the way, or so he thought.

Thalion
The woods rushed by him in brown and white blurs, the thrill of running stuck him and overwhealmed him. The wind rushing and biting at his eyes, nose, and agape mouth gave him the sensation of flight. It was glorious- why did everything have to be so troublesome when moments like simply running could overwhealm all that? The shrill caw of Suuru broke Feanaro's thoughts, bringing him to a skidding stop. He turned up to the crow and whimpered in question. Suuru cawed happily, turning to rocket off into the woods- it was a bit out of the way of the main route but Feanaro decided it was worth looking into anyway.

Suuru flapped from the trees towards the firmiliar pup, sending a welcoming caw in his direction. The bird circled him a few times, sending happy caws at him all the while. Eventually he cicled to a stand in the snow, his head turning over a wing to smile softly to the pup.

Kimaria
Gizmo was startled by the sudden cawing of the crow, but relaxed a little as he recognised the markings of the crow who had been with him before. He got up onto his paws, shaking his fur vigorously and giving a low whuff in greeting.

Then titling his head he lowered himself again until his nose was almost touching the bird. Flitter came back! He squeaked happily, ears drawn forward and tail wagging cheerfully.

He then sat up on his haunches and gave a small row of yips, his tail beating against the snow happily, he knew the crow would come back to see him again. It was strange to think that two different species could understand each other without any words at all.

Ryugen
She perks her ears at the sounds of the crow, sniffing the air, and then raises her hackles as she catches a familiar scent. the same wind that lofts Suuru through the air turns traitor bringing the scent of her former alpha to Lexi's nose. "Feanaro." She growls, breaking away from the main camp, where she's been lurking for someone to go hunting with her, and bolting in that direction. As one of the packs protectors for the pups, she feels it safer to assume that Feanaro is here for the pups than that he's here seeking peace and guidance. In fact she's sure it's not the second. She's not full grown yet, but she is, never the less growing, and her seasons for travel and having to hunt deer and elk without a full pack have made her a strong, swift young wolf. Younger, and not recovering from an illness like Feanaro, she doesn't even bother debating her chances of winning. She's certain of them in her own mind as she thunders toward her old alpha. LIke her attack on Sable, she doesn't snarl, or even howl, but runs silently, which is perhaps even more eerie.

Kouseki
He heard lexi faintly then smelt Fea.. Near his brother. Snapping his jaws, he took off as well, joinging her side. "Be careful Lexi." Giving a nod, he would move in step with her, trying to sniff out his little brother. This was not going to happen. he wasn't going to let some sick alpha of another pack come NEAR Gizmo. Even if Gizmo hated his guts, he would still protect him for them brute Fea. If Lexi couldn't win, then he would sure help her out.

He would growl, his eyes flashing. Of course, he would avoid getting itno the fight if possible.. He needed to be strong for Lera.

Ryugen
"Of course..." Lexi growls quietly in reasurance, baring her teeth for the first time. "Thank you Haku." Her eyes flash brightly as she runs beside him, her mixed feelings and strong resentment of her former alpha and his accusations to her shining in their depths. "He'll never get away with this..."

Thalion
Suuru smiled, nuzzeling his small head into the nose of the pup. He was glad that the pup was all right, he had worried about the poor little one after he had left him- the other wolves could not be trusted.

Feanaro stepped slowly from the brush, his ears lifting up from his head. It was the kind pup- so that's what Suuru had been doing the whole time. He smiled slightly at the scene, holding where he stood in fear that he'd upset the pup. Suuru turned to Feanaro and cawed, turning from Gizmo to Fea with friendly caws.

"Hello young one." He said softly, lowering his head and sending a friendly bow to him. His eyes no longer burned nor lay embeded in cold hatred- instead they had become sad and distant. In those eyes all the regret and pain he felt for his actions laid for all to see and determine what they would of the wolf.

Kouseki
He snarled and moved between Fea and Gizmo, his ears lowering as his hackles raised. "Get away, NOW. Don't ou have a mate or something to look after instead of stalking us? And get your damn bird away form Gizmo." his eyes lit up with a fire, the same fire that Gaara's had just before he kileld Sable. Only Haku did not want the blood of another wolf on his paws.

"My territory, is no place for you and you're little minion. Get out." He was in no mood, his mate gave birth recently and he needed to protect the pack from anything.

Ryugen
Lexi emerges to stand beside Haku, her hackles raised and her eyes blazing. "Gizmo! Run back to camp! It's not safe!" She insisists, keeping her eyes fixed on her former alpha. "You need to not be here Feanaro. This isn't your land. Your mate is in the South, waitining where you ABANDONED her to stalk us with your horrible pet. Unless you're ready to finish what you started with me..." She snarls softly. She doesn't want to fight him today, she wants to keep Gizmo safe, but if Feanaro has come all the way into another wolfs lands AGAIN...it's safe to assume there is NO good reason for it.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a wolfish smile and turned to greet Fea, somehow glad that they had been able to meet again, he had wanted to apologise on behalf of his pack for how they had treated him. He was just about to put his thoughts into words when Haku interrupted, his dark form springing between them.

The fur along his neck bristled and he moved to stand beside his brother, glancing up sadly. Haku, this wolf no harm me, flitter no harm Gizmo either. His voice was sad and distant.

Edit: As lexi also appeared Gizmo shrank back, knowing it was useless, his friends would never want to speak to this other wolf.

Thalion
Feanaro didn't so much as jump at the arrival of the two wolves. Instead he stood quietly and looked to them, his ears lowering slightly. He had so wished just for a peaceful conversation with the pup- he had for quite a time.. just to thank him for the kind gestures to himself and his crow. It seemed that it might have been a trap of some sort. Feanaro drew in a deep breath and lifted his head to face Haku, his eyes had dulled significantly- the rage had been replaced with sorrow, the lust for revenge had died and left only regret in its wake. "I'm not here to start trouble, Haku. I was passing your lands and my companion spotted a friend of his." He nodded in the direction of the pup and the crow now cowering behind one of the pup's legs- taking flight might seal his fate to the jaws of the wolves. "I'm on my way to speak with another pack on another matter- I ran many miles in my hunt and strayed from the path and for that I'm sorry but it's hardly a crime to simply be speaking with the young one..." He frowned a bit, looking to Lexi, "I had hoped to speak with you as well...." He took a slow step forward, still showing no signs of aggression, "Such a flame burns in those eyes... Tell me, Lexi... what have I done to wrong you?"

Kouseki
Haku still kept his alpha pose, but made no motion to attack Fea. He hadn't done anything wrong YET. "That's a rather stupid question," he muttered more to himself than anyone else. Sighing, he would nuzzle Gizmo softly, then look him over. "I'm sorry for not being here for you as much as you need, brother. I want yo uto do as you wish, but I need you here. Whether or not you believe it.. You mean a lot more to me than any other male member of our pack."

His glare remained on Fea, however. To much had happened for him to just shrug it off and let it go.

Thalion
Suuru cringed himself inbetween Gizmo's paws, lowering himself as close to the ground as he could from the orange patterned male. That one threw the rock- he remembered that... it was something he'd not forget. A small part of him wished that his master -would- attack him and get him back for that, there was no way of letting the masked wolf know about the incident though so it was a vain hope. The best he could wish for was that he'd remain unseen or kept safe by the pup. His head nuzzled against one of the small legs- letting Gizmo know he was still present.

Kimaria
His eyes sheened over with tears of joy, Haku needed him! Little cowardly Gizmo! His heart warmed and he buffeted the flat of his skull against his brother's side, noticing for the first time that he had indeed grown since the day they first met.

His tail wagged frantically as he stood by his brother's side, glad that he could take that place once more. Please Haku...don't hurt other wolf. He whispered, eyes still fixed on Fea. This stranger looked very sad now, his eyes distant and lonely, and he felt a whimper gathering in his throat. Was there anything he could do to help this adult? He doubted it.

He felt the small crow brush up against his leg and lowered his muzzle to nudge at him lightly. It okay little flitter. He comforted, hoping that the crow would atleast undertand the tone of his voice if not the words.

Ryugen
"The list grows every time you come NEAR me." Lexi's voice all but quivers in rage. "You abandoned my foster mother so you could stalk this pack, leaving her starving in that cold den of yours. You barely have a thought for her over Selia. You stole pups, you stalk this one, your crow attacks me, and tries to turn every pup I care for against me, you drove me and Gaara out, you call us traitors, you mock me when I tried to help you, spurn me, insult me, and then come back and whimper that you've done nothing at all. You must be as blind and deaf as a newborn not to see the damaged you've caused!" Her voice is full of hurt, and rage, barely controlled. "Haku is the only one who will teach me what you would not. To be strong, to be an alpha myself one day. An alpha of wolves, not carrion crows, ghosts, and bitter memories."

Kouseki
Haku nodded. "As long as he doesn't hurt Lexi, you or me." Lickign Gizmo's forehead, he would smirk at what Lexi was saying. "You insult my sister, you try to make yourself think you're better than her. She may be blind in one I, and I deaf in one ear, but we are just as good if not better than you." Growling slightly, he would look the pup next to him over. Yeah, he had a feeling that stupid crow was around somewhere, but he'd deal with that ball of feathers later. Sighing, he would nod with Lexi. This was a rough day on poor Haku.

Thalion
Feanaro only stepped closer to her, his eyes seemed to fill with more pain with every word she spoke, his eyes had narrowed in a look of complete remorse and sorrow, "Lexi... please listen to me- if this is is the only and last time you ever will, just this once." He stopped when he was within a few inches of her nose, looking down to her sadly, "I could not return to my beloved in the state that I was in, understand that if I returned to her when the illness had my mind and body it would have done her no good. What if in my madness I had turned on her? Or if she had caught the illness? What then? I'd not be able to live with myself. Why I'm here now I cannot reveal but something has arisen that needs my attention. I see it as my punishment for what I've done in recent days. It's true that I miss Selia, she was my puphood friend, the only one that I've ever had in my life. I wish to speak with her- but I do not love her like I thought I did. It seems the role of sister and mate was confused in my youth between females. That I wish to set to right as well." He made a bit of a face at the next accusation, "I stole one pup... I saw the hate against him and thought that I might have saved him from that, from the fate that he eventually fell to but it seems fate increased my illness and hindered me from saving him. I do not stalk this pup- I happened upon him though I will not lie in saying that I've wished to speak to him- I still do. If nothing else to thank him for the kindness that he showed to me when all others were nothing but snarls and fangs. Surely I'm entitled to a gesture of gratitude. And on the matter of my crow I hardly think that he attacked you or he'd be dead by now. He's no fool and he'd not attack anyone unless they were indangering myself or... it seems his new friend there."

He took a slow glance to Gizmo, his eyes narrowing apoligetically... a pup shouldn't have to bear witness to such bitterness- it took too much for Feanaro to realise that himself. Turning back to Lexi he continued, "I did not drive you and Gaara away, you both left me of your own will and though I did grow angry understand that I was not myself and nothing I can do will ever put that to right in even my mind. I didn't mock you when you offered help, I was afriad and hurt. You seek to dominate me, to break me, and take all I have left in the world... a land that I found peace in and a mate to share it with. I love you Lexi, my daughter, but I will not let you take that from me- I will die on your fangs or drive you from my lands. One of the two, I submit to none...." He sighed, lowering his head a bit, "And it's true, he will make a better father for you. I see now that I raised you and Gaara in the shadow of my own hatred for wolf kind and turned your hearts bitter and cold, for that I am sorry.. and one day I will pay for what I've done. There's nothing more I can say on the matter."

He looked to the snow now, having said his peace he waited for a response- be it cold fangs that would burn into his flesh or forgiveness, his mind welcomed both.

Ryugen
"Then one day you will die." Lexi's voice is cool, as she reins in her emotions. "As will we all. Because you've never done a good thing in your life that didn't come with an very terrible price. Stop making other people pay your prices for you Feanaro. Look around you and see the effects your words have had on others. If you're really so blind that you can't see I never would have broken you, then you were already broken. There is nothing I can do to you because you've already been dead. Your heart is dead Feanaro. And your reason. Maybe that's why the crows follow you."

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a loud sigh, and moving over to the half eaten carcass lifted it up into his jaws and dissapeared into the bushes, he didn't like all this arguing and competitive behaviour so he decided to find out where Jade had gotten to instead.

Ultra-mummy Lera
Russtiie
Drowning in excitement Jade began stalking another rabbit, not too far in the distance. Crawling along, she observed the rabbit and it's every move, pin-pointing escape routes, and searching for a burrow. The rabbit tweaked it's ears as Jade crushed a a large crisp leaf. She shut her eyes tight and froze, hoping to camoflauge with the surrounding shrubs. Un-noticed, jade prepared for the attack. The kill was not for food, but rather as method of impressing Gizmo. Loosing concerntration momentarily as she thought about where her companion was, the rabbit began to hop closer to it's burrow.

Ceasing the moment jade sped after the grey hare. Directly behind Jade leapt ontop of the innocent creature, groweling as she pressed it hard into the ground. Jade pulled back her paw preparing for the final step of the kill. As she glared into her victim's eyes her paw lowered and she stepped off the terrified rabbit. It's heart pounding, the rabbit fled into his burrow, his shelter of safety.

A strange emotion came across Jade caushing her eyes began to water. She began to compare herself to the human, and knowing the fear she had of them, she could only imagine the rabbit's feeling towards her. Jade had eaten rabbit before and watched other's hunt for them, however she felt almost in-capable of killing one herself. She decided to take a moment to think and clear her head. She forced out the shouts in the distance and sat in solitude.

----------

A shadow cast over Jade as her new found friend had found her, curled up like a new born pup. She shook her head as to diminish the image of herself as 'the hunter'. Sitting up straight she smiled at Gizmo and then look past him, squinting to see. What's going on?

Kimaria
Gizmo wagged his tail but there was a hint of sadness that trembled in his golden eyes. He dropped the half eaten carcass onto the ground and sat back on his haunches

At her question his ears flattened a little and he gave a small whimper, pawing at the snow sadly. Adults...they fight all time. He muttered, wishing that Haku and Fea could see eye to eye. It was also sad to think that Lexi no longer looked up to her adopted father.

He trembled a little and shook his muzzle, When I grow up, I not ever fight. He said firmly, he was going to be sure never to hurt another wolf, even if it meant his own death.

Russtiie
Jade sympathesized with Gizmo about the adults fighting, comparing it to a similar feeling - loosing parents. Fighting parents or adults for a pup is a dreadful feeling, much more severe when they are lost.

Although Jade was trying her hardest to comfort Gizmo, her gaze didn't break with the bloody carcass lying in the snow. Trying not to gag, she decided to force the thought out of her mind and focus on something joyous - Gizmo. She broke her discusted transe, and began walking beside Gizmo, feeling especially lucky to have met such a friendly wolf.

Are we still going to the pack?

Kimaria
Gizmo looked up, obviously lost in thought until she had spoken. His golden eyes caught hers and he pressed his nose to her forehead, wagging his tail. Jade not hungry? He questioned, turning his head to gaze at what was left of the long-ears.

He moved to stand beside her, pointing his nose in the direction of the pack. We go when you ready. He nodded, answering her question simply.

Then he lowered himself into a stretch and shook his fur vigorously, looking up at Jade and giving her a wolfish grin.

Russtiie
Yes I'm ready! Jade was extremely excited to be introduced to the pack, and the anticipation began to build up inside her. Her pace increased quite dramatically, not caused by fear, but of enthusiasm. Jade loved to meet new wolves and knowing there would be many in the pack, her excitement grew to a new level.

When Gizmo smiled at her, she experienced a second unfamiliar emotion rush through her. She ignored the bizarre feeling and smiled back at the 'cute' wolf. Jade shocked herself when she thought that exact word. So tell me about your pack.

Kimaria
With a nod of his muzzle he stood up fully, noticing with sheer joy that he did seem to be getting bigger, he was no longer the scraggly little pup he had been when he had been wandering alone. That was when his thoughts returned to Aeria, it seemed he had not spoken to her for ages...and he had broken his promise.

His tail curled between his legs sadly as he trotted alongside his new friend. At her question he smiled a little, there was so much to tell about his pack, he just hoped he could find the words to explain to her.

Alpha Haku is Gizmo's brother. He black and orange fur and very strong, he taught runt how to hunt the furries. He say he need me, I his favourite male wolf in pack. The pride could easily be detected in his voice. He like Jade, I sure.

His eyes trailed along her fur and he suddenly realised what her colorings reminded him of, that green was the same he had seen near his old pack's den, the green of moss. He liked it very much. Shaking his head to rid himself of the thoughts he continued with describing the pack.

Lera, Haku's mate, she had puppies not long ago and she kind to Gizmo, she like the momma I never had. His tail wagged at this thought, Carmen is other adult, she look scary but really nice, we hunt! She used to be lone wolf! He yipped, leaping up onto a small boulder and canting his head.

Then there Gaara and Lexi, they like pack guardians and protect all wolves from danger. They care for you too I think. Then there two pup brothers, Kam-Kam and Tobie He continued, using their nicknames by habit. They shy but nice, Jade like them too.

Then he hesitated, there was still one more wolf he had failed to describe, but he knew it would be thought of as highly offensive if he left her out. Then finally there be Aeria. He paused, watching his breath mist in front of him. She Gizmo's good friend, helped me lot's of times.

He paused then and drew forth his ears, pausing in step to sniff tentatively at the air. There were strange scents about that tugged strongly at his nose, he said nothing for he was sure that Jade had smelt it too.

Russtiie
Jade listened intently to every name Gizmo spoke, making sure she made a mental note of each member, as she desired to create the perfect impression. Jade loved hearing Gizmo describe the pack. From cover to cover, the factual chronicle thrilled Jade as she breathed life into their character within her head.

Stopping at precisely the same moment as Gizmo, Jade lifted her nose and inhaled an interuption in the crisp winter air. Studying the area she noticed a frail trace of smoke, twirling upwards before vanishing into the tree's. Slowly approaching the small opening in the forest, Jade looked back and smiled at Gizmo. She placed herself in an exciting story of bravery and adventure. Noticing their was no immediate danger, Jade dashed into the opening leaping over the extinguished fire. It's Safe Gizmo! Jade laughed and hurried around the abandoned campsite, finding many human created objects, obviously left behind.

Kimaria
If he had been given the chance, Gizmo would have stopped her from running so fearlessly into the clearing, but as it was she had already done so.

Lowering himself to the ground he crept forwards, his belly brushing against the snow as he did so. This place was...different. It reeked of two-legs and the strange dancing-grey smelt disgusting. He wrinkled his nose but continued into the clearing, glancing about him quietly.

Jade appeared to be right, any two-legs that may have been here were now gone and had left their belongings to their investigation.

Giving a small yip towards his friend he moved closer to the pile of burning logs and watched the dancing finger of smoke work it's way up between the branches of the trees. What that? He asked of Jade, indicating the smoke with his nose.

Russtiie
Jade appeared to prance over to a confused Gizmo, transfixed on the rising remains of the smouldering fire. Its smoke. Grey clouds made from an old fire. Underneath the burnt logs was a small ember, glowing brightly. Jade was fascinated by the single ember, and gazed at what she thought was a delicate beauty. After several minutes, Jade broke her stare and began to bounce around Gizmo who also had been transed by the deceased fire.

Jade who was frolocking around the site, stumbled upon what she assumed was an unusual bird. Peering down at the collection of feathers, she tapped it lightly with her paw. It wasn't alive, and it didn't look like bird she had seen before. The feathers appeared to be bound to a hoop, which had a pattern inside, designed with string. Gizmo! Quick! Come look at this! Jade assumed it was some kind of trophy for hunting that the humans had left behind. Although the concept Jade had decided was gruesome, she quite fancied the human made trophy.

Kimaria
Smoke. He repeated carefully, tilting his head to watch it curiosly, he wondered what it was used for. Perhaps the two-legs used it to keep away predators, it did indeed smell rather strange.

He sneezed, shaking his head and stepping back from the fire, turning to watch Jade as she frolicked around him. He gave an excited yip, and watched her intently as she moved over to sniff at something lying on the ground. Was it some sort of two-legs trap?! Panic ceased him as she called out to him and he dashed over, the fur along his neck bristling in fear.

It a trap!? He yipped as he slid to a halt beside her, regarding the object fearfully, his eyes trailing along the feathers and the strange spiderweb design that had been woven inside of the perfect loop.

Lowering his head he snuffled at it, retrieving his nose as if it had been bitten, smell of two-legs. He muttered, reaching out and tapping it with a tentative paw. To his surprise the thing did not attack, but just simply lay on the ground. What it be? He questioned, watching the feathers flap lazily in the wind.

Russtiie
Jade nodded to Gizmo's comment. The object smelt of humans, which quite often meant danger, however this item had quite a calming effect on Jade. I don't know what this is Gizmo. But I want it! Jade scooped it over her nose and shook her head back to secure it. Jade smiled at Gizmo, Let's keep going.

She proudly walked along-side Gizmo with the creation dangling from her snout. As they exited the campsite Jade saw a large exposed bear trap open on the ground. She became quite agitated at the sight of it and hurried along. How much further?

Kimaria
Gizmo smirked at Jade and twitched his tail thoughtfully, trotting alongside her. The smoke from the fire wiped out any scent of the metal trap and he walked by it unknowing.

After a moment of following the same path he swung east and up a snowy slope that led towards the pack land. From here he caught Haku's scent and the other familiar ones, glad that they hadn't gone too far from their new home.

He hoped desperately that his friends would approve of Jade, and turning to glance at her he knew she would be accepted. Not too far. He replied, wagging his tail cheerfully. He would then throw back his head and give a long howl to announce his return, quite proud of the way it sounded. With each passing day his call was improving and for that he was eternally grateful.

Otsune
Lera laid inside her den, sheilded from the cold of the outside. Her three tiny pups laid next to her side. They had stopped feeding, for now, and laied huddled up besides her. Lera's thraot was dry and her stomach grumbled. She wish desperatly that another from her pack would come with food, or else she would have to go out and find it for herself...

where had haku gone to, anyways?

Her head rose slightly (stopping before hitting the roof of her den) when she heard Gizmo's howl. She wanted to go out and see for what reason her was howling; but her duty laid there. There was some unfamiliar scent outside, as well as an unfamiliar mind.

Russtiie
Jade happily followed Gizmo up the snowy slode, as the realisation the Pack was not far off. Jumping slightly when Gizmo howled, she re-collected herself and hurried along eagerly. At the top of the hill Jade could see a collection of wolves and her tail wagged frantically. She was ecstatic, and began to dash down the slope. It was perhaps a little too much excitement and speed as Jade lost her balance and rolled down the last third of the hill. Getting to her feet she began to roar with laughter over her clumsiness, pouncing on Gizmo who was rushing to her aid.

During the fall, the feathered hoop had flown off her snout and into the snow. Forgetting all about the item, she proceeded quickly with Gizmo, craving to finally meet the pack.

Kimaria
It surprised Gizmo that Jade could be so clumsy, he had not really thought of her as such until he watched her topple down the hill. With a row of high-pitched yips Gizmo dashed down to join her and led her over to the main den.

Surprisingly, everything was pretty quiet for such a large pack, perhaps Haku was still speaking with Fea...he secretly hoped this wasn't the case. As much as he liked that masked wolf he would prefer if he kept his distance, he didn't want there to be a fight between his brother and that lonely stranger.

Giving another loud bark he would creep over to the den in which he knew Lera was, he hadn't gone near it since the female had dissapeared inside, in fear that he would anger her, but he knew he had to talk to one of the alphas, and seeing as Haku was absent it would have to be Lera.

Drawing up to the entrance he poked in his pale nose and snuffled cautiously, Lera? He whispered, letting his eyes grow accustomed to the darkness.

Otsune
Lera cpould hear gizmo appraoch, first the bark, then poking his head in. Lera rotated her body so she could still be close to her pups, but had her head looking down the chute of her den, to where gizmo was. Internally she wondered why he was there, and who the stranger that was with him was.

But suddenly her mommy pup-protector instinct kicked in as a deep, but soft, growl eruppted from her throat. Her golden eyes shone as she moved her body closer to the fragile bodies that laid next to her.

Russtiie
Jade suddenly became extremely nervous when no-one was around. Feeling incredibly insecure she pressed up beside Gizmo, where she felt comforted and safe just by standing with him. As they approached a dark den Jade's breathing grew heavy. She kept repeating to herself under her breath You can do this Jade. She had never been a big fan of the dark, however once they stepped inside, she no longer felt worried, and began to relax a little.

Kimaria
Gizmo whimpered, taking a small step back before flattening himself to the ground, pale ears pressed against his skull. This was one of the reasons he hadn't wanted to speak with Lera, it was male instincts to steer clear of a mother wolf, especially a first time one. He had often been told of it in his old pack.

Tail tucked between his legs he remained poised, ready to dash away if need be. Lera...where Haku?...I met wolf, she want join... His voice was barely a whisper.

Russtiie
Jade's moment of relaxtion dissolved very quickly as a growel emerged from within the cave. She took a step back and looked at Gizmo for security and support, however this was shattered through his nervous pose and tone in his voice. Jade knowing new mother wolves can get hostile, whispered to Gizmo with a shakey tone. Gizmo, lets leave!

Otsune
Instincts told Lera that no one besides her should be in this den. All outside bodies were seemingly tainted parasites, waiting to feed on her new borns. Her pups seemed so clean, so fragile, untouched by the outside world. It was as if Gizmo had some disease, and he just wanted to maliciously spread it. Her ears were propped forward, the grow; still churning out.

But then another body entered the 'entrance of her den.' Lera lips drew back in a snarl as she licked her nose. It inscensed her to knoew that some unkown creature was in her den. She opened her jaws, showing rows of teeth. She would not let these wolves near her pups.

Leradien continued to growl, not really hearing what Gizmo had to say. He could easily seek out Haku for questions, but why was he comming to her? And out of all times now.

Kouseki
Haku, having left Fea nad them quite some time ago walked back towards the den with a fresh catch for Lera. Seeing the two pups, he would move past them and drop the two bunnies down the chute. "What is it that you need me for, Gizmo?" he grumbled, licking the blood from his lips as he ploped to his butt just outside her little den thing.

He was semi depressed, becuase Lera booted him for the saftey of the pups, but hey, that's how mother's were. Looking the pups over, he would cant his head and part his maw at the green female. "Great, another weird pelted wolf to join." Rolling his eyes, he would snort, "What's your name, pup?"

Kimaria
Gizmo, being the little coward that he was quickly backed up from the fiercesome female, only to knock into one of Haku's forepaws. He whirled round in fright but felt the painc dissapear in a second. His brother was here!

With a happy yip he would nuzzle against his brother's dark chest and move to sit beside him, eyeing the den entrance warily.

She be Jade, new friend. Has no pack, she stay here? There, only Gizmo could summarise that much into one sentence. He looked over at the green pup and gave a wolfish smile. Dun worry, Haku always speak that way.

Russtiie
Jade froze in terror as the sound of a large wolf quickly approached them. Shutting her eyes tightly and breathing heavily Jade began to panic. She pressed firmly next to Gizmo and when a voice emerged from behind her, she gasped holding her breath. Her eyes flew open as the fear of an attack plagued her mind. The large black and brown patterened wolf passed Jade by dropping two rabbit's in front of Lera. She let out a slight sigh of relief after Gizmo spoke comforting words, however she still was not feeling very safe.

She swallowed and took half a step forward. Yes, my names Jade. She spoke with an extremely emotional tone, as she felt a tear roll down her cheek. I-I-I Jade was stuttering terribly, and her single tear had multiplied, having what felt like streams rolling down her soft green cheeks. She tried to settle herself and spoke again. I live with my grand-father. We are looking for a pack to join. There she said it! She waited for Haku's verdict anxiously, continuously turning to Gizmo for support.

Kouseki
He looked the pup over with a small smirk. Gizmo seemed to think highly of this one as well. Ah, what the heck. The more the merrier right? Giving a small nod of approval, he would sigh. "Yes, you may stay here. And your grandfather? I guess so, if he needs a place as well." Giving another nod, he would keep his station in front of Lera's den. It was his duty to keep her safe from all harm.

Sniffing the ground, he would kick a bit of snow at Gizmo. "Hey brother, how's the girlfriends?" Chuckling slightly, he would tackle his brother to play around. He was truely a kid at heart.

Russtiie
Jade was over-whelmed with emotion. The last few minutes had been so intense she wasn't quite sure how to react. She looked over at Gizmo, and then yipped with excitement. Remembering the cranky mother just behind Haku, Jade took a step back, hoping she hadn't upset her.

Thank you Haku! Jade jumped up and down with excitement! Come on Gizmo! Jade dashed out of the den and came to a sudden hault as she realised the black of the night was beginning to flood the sunset. Knowing that she shouldn't and couldn't walk in the dark, she re-entered the cave. I will stay here tonight Gizmo, and let my Pops know about everything in the morning! Jade grinned at Gizmo.

Kimaria
Well Gizmo was happy, he hadn't doubted that his brother would send Jade away but now he had been given confirmation he felt a great weight become lifted from his shoulders. Wagging his tail he would turn to peer up at his brother, a feeling of embarasment settling on him. Girl-girlfriends? What did his brother mean by that?
