Yay! SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex... there's a technical explanation for it regarding moving mirrors and whatnot, but basically all professional cameras are SLR's. Generally they have high specs, lots of manual options and the ability to detach and attach different lenses for different situations. (anyone who knows more about cameras feel free to chime in if I'm wrong sweatdrop ). A 'point-and-shoot' is usually a normal compact camera, which most people use in Auto mode - so you point at your subject and press the button, and that's it. SLR's have a lot more fancy options for different effects and situations 3nodding

The picture looks good! Nice setup whee Personally I think it could do with a bit more light though. If that's hard for you to do, it isn't too hard to fix up in Photoshop or Picasa. Hope you don't mind, I did a quick change to show you...

I tried doing it in Photoshop but the Picasa one turned out nicer because I'm still not too great at editing, haha. Anyway, it's free, super easy to use and does pretty well in most situations. Here I just hit the basic contrast fix and upped the fill light a bit.

Really cute cupcake btw!

ooh i see...

it does look alot better after you've played with the contrast and such. all light and fluffy ^^

i dont really edit my photos, well actually i dont. this is jsut straight from the camera.
good to see im pretty okay with my photography skills
its funny coz i just took this picture on my bed and thats just my quilt cover behind it. hehe

i actually take alot of my picture on my bed..??

maybe coz i always work on there (not a good idea - i tend to find pins and needles the hard way xp ) i really need to clear my desk or just get a new workspace or something. but it is comfy working on my bed, espcially when i stay up late making stuff!

well thanks for the critique!
i'll try editing some of my photos from now on biggrin

tip for working on your bed--get a (tv) lap tray and line it with a large napkin or piece of cloth. It's a great catch-all for sewing small things or, like me, when you are working with tiny beads and findings. Try waking up after finding some of THOSE in your bed... stressed xp
