lol yeah sorry i was being silly about the adorable thing... but it is true that british accents are way more badass than american accents. and your pizza huts are nicer.

it's sad to say... but a guy becomes much cuter when he has a british accent. i don't know.
my boyfriend said it was the same thing with girls, they are cuter when they have a british accent... lol we both have american accents. Ah well, still... nobody is cuter than my boyfriend ^-^ even if he has an american accent... yeah sorry
{/rant}

I think it depends which part of Britain the person is from - I've got a Scottish Highland accent, but now and again the odd word will come out slightly English-sounding (my mum's fault!). Personally I'm not a fan of the Aberdeen or Dundee accents, I just can't understand them! I find the Welsh a bit hard to follow too... but the southern Irish... *swoon* blaugh

Or do you mean English by British?

lol... yeah, I am not well learned in the area of accents... I do like scottish accents for some reason, and irish are cute too... as for the difference between southern and northern, well, Perhaps one day I shall take a course on english speaking accents.

But then again, are you familiar with the different american accents? (like Brooklyn, Texan, Southern drawl... people in Washington even sound different)

I'm from california, but my mom's mom was from New York and my dad's from Alabama, so I've got a mixed up american english accent.

Yeah I've got some knowledge of it (watch WAY too much TV!) I'm no so keen on the Texan or Southern accents (no offence meant to anyone!), but I actually like the Washington accent! We also get a lot of American tourists in our shop over summer, so I've started getting quite good at picking up on their accents sweatdrop

I have an accent that would sound like I'm from another country. I was partly deaf for the first 6 to 7 years of my life. So far, only one person was able to place it. He thought I was deaf because I seemed to have the habit of looking at people's lips when they talk.

I've been asked;
"What country are you from?"
"What's your native language?"
"Are you from Russia?"
"Are you a study abroad student?"

Answers:
Florida
Eng-glish
Further east from that. Way east.
I have to travel a whole half hour from home.

My thought is: Don't judge a people by the representatives on TV

For the most part, the media shows off the very dumbest and worse of a county's people.

If America was like what they showed on TV; I'd disown my country.

Your sir are an impostor and not all Americans are stupid, just that lady.

Dang! Our president has doomed us! Leave it to us to elect the world's hugest moron as the leader of our country!
Not all Americans are stupid. Most aren't, actually, but ironically, the ones who are the most daft wield the most power and are seen most often by others...and then the sterotypical American on TV is a complete moron. I assure you, we're generally pretty sharp over here.
Except for the president.

Very true, though you do got to respect Bush for being able to put up with all that criticism and crap people throw at him.

True. Actually, now that I think of it, I probably wouldn't be able to stand it.

Yeah in America the old movies would have any European speak with a British accent (even Nazis in WWII movies!).

Haha, you should watch Hogan's Heroes. It's an old tv show from the 60's about a Nazi POW camp. All the actors are American, but they put on accents, and some of them are good and some not so much. But it's really fun to watch. Some of the Nazi's have super-exaggerated German accents, but this one guy, who actually is German, just sounds American. Werner Klemperer, that's his name. Anyway. It's funny.

We're not, I promise, just our tv industry. And thank you for saying so. I mean, of course there are stupid people. (My friend knows this girl who thought the Holocaust was a disease.) But there are stupid people everywhere, right? I mean, America's (Britain's, Scandanavia's, Australia's etc.) Next Top Model exists in about 50 countries now, so... (Of course, I am addicted. Their stupidity is too fun not to watch.) People just sound cooler with a foreign accent. I only have the standard American accent, unfortunately...
