Serena eyes him as he moves towards the DJ station. She was pretty sure she knew why he was coming over and of course she was ready for it. "You, I'm afraid, have missed the all important key," she replies giving her head a shake as if sadden by this as she glances down at her gown. "This dress was not made for moshing."

Wow, she was a quick tongued thinker, he could speak fast, but she blew him out of the water. How could Steve be able to counter her comment? It seemed so elaborate, and with a technicality to boot, even if he got her in the mood to dance with his fast talking, she could not with the dance... So how could he counter this comment? Easy, with a smile he pointed at his clock, "ah looks like it is genre switching," he moved beside her, next to the dj station, and started to remove cds and adding the new genre cd list.
"So what should we listen to now," he smirked as he dug into a soft rock genre pack, "ah soft rock hmm.. how about something by aerosmith?" He plops in a cd, and lets it play as he turns back to Serena, "It seems like this shall be my last song for the night, you're not going to leave me hanging are you? And hey look, no moshing." A big smile across his face. Always the hopeful one he was, so would his dreams come true tonight or would he simply just dream rest of the night away in his slumber? Either way, he knew that after the song was over he would definitely drink some of the white chocolate, there was no reason not to!

"Ah but you see, my drink is still half full, I can not just leave it in such a state," she offers holding her glass up as if to prove this fact. She takes a slow sip glancing at Steve over the lip of the cup. "And it might take me a while to manage it all."
The heel of her shoe clicks against the floor to the song, it really was enjoyable, she much preferred these softer more mellow songs. Yet if there was no variety then there would be no fun. "Try again tomorrow, I think," she finally advises him with a smile.

"Well I guess I should freshen up my glass as well," and as he went to get some he turned back as it just hit him, "hey, you said half full, at least I can guess you're a bit optimistic," he gave a small laugh, a bit soft, due to him being very tired. Dancing can drain even an energetic man.
As he finished getting some white chocolate as his punch he walked back to her, and gathered a rather nice white chocolate mustache as he chugged it down. "Well I guess it indeed will have to be tomorrow, after all it looks like even the sweet chocolate of delight can not keep me from passing out." He shook his head, "such a pity too, I really wanted to dance with you, but yes, yes tomorrow is another night," He smiled and started to turn around, but stopped.
"Goodnight dear Serena, may sleep find you as well..." He started to turn once more, with the music in his body as he leisurely left, waiting to hear if she had anything left to say before he parted for the night.

"...I hope this is right."
A young woman, her black hair shining underneath the light next to the door to the ball. Her eyes were staring through her black-rimmed glasses, blinking at the invitation. It was a ball, but she did the best she could to find a nice outfit since she didn't have a lot of formal dresses. She was wearing a red sleeveless shirt over a brown skirt that reached to the middle of her shins. She did adorn herself with earrings (which was once in a blue moon) as well as a black pendant necklace. She hoped she looked fine, she thought as she leaned towards the door of the supposed ballroom.
From the way it sounded, it was a techno-party. She could feel the excitement running through her veins. She loved techno! She believed to herself that she couldn't dance for dear-life, but techno was the only time she could do her Para Para dances. Oh! It was going to be fun!
Slinking through the door, she kept to the shadows, watching and trying to find people that she knew very well, or heck, she was just trying to find people. She saw some on the dance floor already and was about to tackle them, but then thought better of it and stealthily went through the shadows again...

Today was a good day to lurk around! Steve felt so much like being a ninja today, that he was in fact dressed in a ninja outfit. Quickly he would dart from hallway to hallway till he came to the court yard, and there he saw keh! She was off in the shadows, was she looking at the other people? Perhaps, more than likely actually. There weren't too many out there on the dance floor, but it would get full soon enough, just give it time, yes, time was all that was needed!
He hung to the shadows, and realized there were windows! Quickly he opened one, and jumped out... and landed in another hallway.. Of course he was already 'outside' technically since it was the courtyard, but he wanted a chance to think outside the box... bad pun, but he wanted to think of how to make a grand entrance once more, and he got it.
Thump! Thump! Clash! Glass shattered everywhere as Steve fell through a window. Translucent hues cascaded off the shimmering shards, and made phantasms creep against hte walls towards keh. Which he brimmed a smile at her, slight blood trickled down his happy glee stricken face, blood from the scratches he gathered clashing through glass. "Hi there!" His voice was exuberant, neglecting that he just failed two attempts trying to get through the window. "I am sooo glad you're here! Now we can really get the party going!" He reached out his hand and gestured to the ballroom floor, "let the dancing begin!"

"Steve, do we need to have a discussion regarding you blood to caffiene ratio?"
Jessica was back again, though no one could have seen her leave before.
She was too stealthy to bother with exit posts.
Today she was wearing solid black tights, a pair of black and white saddle shoes with abnormally large platforms, a black pleated skirt, and a white collared shirt. A black and white checkered tie polished of this outfit in the place of her usual necklace. She was wearing the same earrings, the same hairstyle, and the same heavy eyeliner. Again, she was carrying her messenger bag and a chai latte.

A young girl walks in, dressed in between casual and formal, preppy and goth. It was just a special look she pulled together for this event. Yes, she was the one who people called Bru, at least, people on Gaia did (she never really went much into her real life names or nicknames).
Well, how do you get the look she did, you may be wondering. It was all a matter of careful timing, perfect color coordination, and tiredly picking out an outfit from her closet. There was the pink and black plaid skirt she was wearing, with black, knee-length tights under it. And, under her black vest (the thick ones that look good, not the weird, small, cotton ones), she was wearing a dark pink shirt, the same color as the pink on her skirt. Yes, she had an eyelid for color, did she not?
Along with that, she was also wearing black, tie-up heels, and her medium brown hair was pulled up into a casual bun, but decorated with small, pink rhinestone clips. As for her make-up, she was just wearing a touch of black eyeliner and eyeshadow, but nothing more. And, no worries, her eye makeup was put on when she was fully awake. No need to run for your lives.
Stepping out onto the dance floor, Bru smiled. "Awesome!" she cheered, "I love techno!"

Ah today was a fine day indeed, another member poked their head into the whole dance floor, quite amazing! Steve placed his hands on the hips as if he was doing a heroic stance as he faced towards Jessica. "Well ye of charms does not need such a great entrance as I do, for dost not thine charms presence enough?" He give her a smile as he walked towards the DJ studio, "Hmm," he shuffled through his cd case, all of which imported through newgrounds audio play list, a free techno galore! It took him a while to find some of g-rave stuff, he always had such a great dance selection, and so once he found it, he placed it in the stereo, and let it blare.
"Ah, and to you Bru, welcome to our midst, i am glad you're here! We difinitely need more people coming in," a horrible laugh as he tried to manage to cver up the fact that he was a little sad that no one was showing up really, "I suppose people are waiting till the weekday, considering that usually people are out on these days." A raised eyebrow, "actually you know, on most Sundays I am gone all day long playing d&d, but for this great occasion I shall be here."
Well, now that he explained probably his whole life story, he moved out to the center of the stage, and looked out to everyone, "Who here wishes to dance?"

Jessi stared blankly at Steve.
One minute.
Two minutes.
She sipped her chai latte, finally breaking the gaze to find a seat to drop her music collection on. There was no telling when Presidents of the United States, Soft Cell or Zeromancer were going to coming in handy, so she never went anywhere without them and a sketch book. "I wish I got to play D&D every sunday. I only get to play on major holidays.... Ah well."
She kicked back the last of her tea and tossed the Starbucks cup in the garbage.
"Ok, so that's my third for the day. I might just be ready to dance. I'll warn you now, I do a mean shopping cart."

"Only on major holidays?" He shook his head, "that's not fun, but we're limiting ours down to once a month due to school, that or whenever we get the chance to."
His mind was completely blank though, not knowing exactly what a shopping cart is besides it being a thing you use to shop with. Very odd indeed, he would add it to his list of moves, if he could find out how to master it. "Ah a mean shopping cart, please do, the dance floor is yours, you may play whatever music you need to get the beat on down right." he smiled, "I'll be learning for the master than, right?" An eyebrow raised, "I'll follow your lead"

"I never get to play that," Bru sighed. "I don't think anybody I know would play it with me."
She then giggled, and decided to watch them. "Ah, shopping carts," she said to herself, "Brings back memories." Her mind then slipped into it's unknown abyss, her memories the shopping cart brought back to her. Most of those memories, however, were probably best left alone, lest ye doth hate thyne sanity.
After that statement, she went into memories of Shakespeare, also better left alone, for the same reason. She then finally shook it off, and focused. She had never heard of the 'shopping cart' dance move, either. "I shall study," she decided, "And then I shall practice your move until I can master it, too!"

A virtual dance? Why, never such a thing! Kiki had never been to a real dance before. Scho and local community dances were never appealing to her; she preffered to stay at home and read a book, maybe write a thing or two. In this case? The Computer, with a ball that would quickly fall out before her.
An average-heighted girl, dressed all in white. Even with her pale skin, yet the outstanding green eyes, walked wearily before the doors that would, in fact, lead her to such a place. Virtual dance? She had heard of the things around gaia, through her long years on the website, but to ever join one?
It was definitely a first.
She smiled, which turned into a grin, as she pushed past the doors before her and into the room of the dancing. Dancing wasn't something she preffered either, but socializing? A whole other story! She grinned as familiar faces were caught at glimpses of her eyesight, while lights, music, and any featured designs flickered around her. Well, it was so much different from reality! Well, of course everyone could be in their separate groups, but did they ever think of role playign while they did it!? She didn't think so.
Kiki pulled the doors shut behind her, and slowly made her past everything, curiousty edging forth.

So she would no longer feel like a third-wheel, which was why she never liked dances, either, Bru hurried over to Kiki. "Hello," she greeted. "And how are you on this lovely evening?" Bru then went out to check the weather, not sure if it was really lovely or not.
"Yes, on this lovely evening," she repeated, having seen a nice sky outside.

Jess sighed heavily, with her shoulders rolled forward in defeat. Looks like shopping cart was a regional thing, best left to Cincy drama nerds, or rather cincy stage crew nerds. Next thing they were going to tell her is that they didn't know the aquaboogie, and that would be crushing.
Then she'd REALLY be a nerd.
Jessi grabbed her bag and shuffled through it, finally finding her Gorillaz disk and skipping ahead to the track 'Rock the House.'
As the bass kicked in Jess hopped on the dance floor, shaking her butt and walking in a circle, reaching over her head with one hand, and acting like she was dropping something in the imaginary shopping cart she was pushing. She'd repeat the move, with the other hand this time.
She was drifting back to paint splatter days where this signature move was done to Manson's cover of 'Tainted Love' while everyone knocked down the set in a flurry of paint dust and splinters. Those were the days.
As the track ended, going to M1A1, Jess switched to the 'Lawnmower,' broken up by the 'q-tip.'
