Part-Time Viking tangocat777 Part-Time Viking tangocat777 Ace Paladin tangocat777 Third-person shooters, especially on consoles that aren't as immersive as the Wii. You're a complete asshat.
The Wii's only "immersive" shooter is MP3... and RE4.
Number of shooters on the other consoles that are better than the Wii's?
Almost every one in existance.
Better than Red Steel, I believe so. Better than MP3, no way. Gears, Resistance, Half-Life, Bioshock, Warhawk, RE4 Wii Edition ALL out perform MP3 in my book. I feel that if RE4 Wii Edition never were to come out, MP3 would have been a lot more impressive to me. Well, I doubt you've even played MP3 if you play your Wii less than Bioshock and you play RE4:WE as much as you do. Going through the two-minute ship controls thing does not give you a good idea of shooter controls. Oh ******** kid, what did I tell you about assuming that if someone doesn't bend over and willingly lets the game ******** you in the a** that I didn't play enough of it. You and your arguments to try to counter why some might dislike a game that you love is frailer than Steven Hawkings legs. You're complaints about MP3 don't make sense to me after playing through it twice. That's a pretty good sign you haven't played the game.

Oh, but I have played it, I just picked it up the same week that I got Warhawk and Lair as well, also a week before my splitshift hell week (8-3, 4:30-9:30). I have played the game, but I also have a career and a life to see too, forgive me for not dropping to my knee's, closing my eyes and opening my mouth to receive the Nintendo Money-shot that I guess is MP3. Also, I really haven't made any complaints against the game, I've said that it's good, it just doesn't thrill me.

In Gears of War, there is no pointer functionality, you're aiming with sticks, how can that be better than pointing at something and pulling the trigger (B button) like you would an actual gun?

In Gears of War, there is no pointer functionality, you're aiming with sticks, how can that be better than pointing at something and pulling the trigger (B button) like you would an actual gun? Simple, better response time, better accuracy, and you don't always have to point at the screen in order to get anything done. MP3 is good, that game and RE4 Wii Edition do prove to me that shooters do have a future on the Wii, but I don't think that it will replace the current set up of shooters. And I said this last night, shooting in games=/= shooting a gun in real life. Only stupid mothers, and stupid gamers assume that it does.

Again, you assume that I mean the game is exactly like the real world. Look, I've done target practice with guns, and I've played MP3 to an extent where I have a good judgement of what it's like. It's very, very similar to firing an actual gun. It uses a lot more invlolvement than shooters using Dual analogue sticks. Come on, pointer should be enough for you, and I response time and accuracy are up to the player's skill, which develops rapidly.

I don't find it to be more involving than using two analog sticks, I find it to be more annoying.

Like I've said, I'm not saying that MP3 is a bad game, I find the controls rather solid (and I quote myself, "RE4 Wii Edition and MP3 prove that shooters have a future on the Wii"), however, I do not see them replacing the standard method of shooter controls. It's a good alternative, but not a replacement.

It's all preference, just remember that I'm not saying that the game is bad, it just doesn't fit into the same clump as most other shooters. Shooters like Gears and Resistance require a fast response time and a accurate sensitivity, RE4 and MP3 aren't as fast paced as those games so it's really hard to gauge how the Wiimote holds up under the same kind of circumstances.
