"ah," she nod understanding "you have every right, I've taken no offense." she lower her arms all the way now, tucking them comfortably next to her body. "I've taken nest a bit far from the community, it is rare that i come down at all... I hope.... i have not become unwelcome?" she asked, makeing sure she was not causing a problem.

"Thank you! They're very pretty! I'll be careful!" Tuaria assured the adult as she gratefully hopped away, glad to be dismissed. She couldn't afford the attention of too many more adults. Besides, she was eager to chat with Liluye about the event. Before she left, however, she noticed the older harpy give an almost wistful glance at a certain bright egg in the midst of a clutch. Her blue eyes lit with curiosity. Was that what the fuss was about? The possibility of a male addition to their colony?
Failing to keep her word, Tuaria's eyes were on the egg when she turned, and so she was most certainly not being careful when she bumped right into Liluye. "Oh! Sorry!" she chirped immediately, holding her wings up in apology. But her friend was grinning, and the grin was contageous.
"You think so?" she asked, bashful. "But that was a close call! I really didn't mean to make the grown-ups mad..." Tuaria hesitated and cast Liluye an indignant look. "And I'd have landed better if this hall weren't so small! It's far more open outside. I don't see why they couldn't have had the party out there..." she complained.
"Is that what this is all aout? Those eggs?" She peered at them closely, trying to make out the proud mother. "I can't see - who's their mother?"

"I guess so. And I don't know..." she looked too, "Do they do this with all the eggs? Or just the shiny red ones? It kinda looks like it got bleeded on," she said, frowning, "Should we go look? We might get in trouble if the bloody egg is important."

Koda shook her head, "You are always welcome here, sister, provided you come with no ill intent."
The children caught her attention, so she gestured to the shy harpy to follow her. She greeted the children, barely able to contain her laughter at their thoughts and guesses. "Would you like to see the egg, little chicks?"

"peace is my only intent" she said with a reassuring nod. blinking curiously and tilting her head sharply to the side as she was beaconed by Koda. not sure is she should at first, but finally gave in and followed, her figure hunched slightly, frightened that she had misread the signal. looking down at the children as they caught up, letting out her own chirp of a laugh as Koda did.

"Eww! That's gross!" Tuaria screeched musingly at Liluye's reference to blood. "But you know...you're kinda' right...still, it's pretty, don't you think? Like rubies." She smiled, though couldn't help recalling the look on Iris' face when the bronze chick questioned aloud the ceremony.
"You know, I'm not sure," Tuaria told her. "I've never attended one before, since we weren't eggs too long ago ourselves. But you're probaly right, we should go look."
Gasping suddenly as Koda addressed the pair, Tuaria beamed at the teenage harpy, glad to know she hadn't come to them on the account of their deeds. It seemed her conscience had een othering her much due to her frequent trips to where the taur resided. "We'd love to! Could we? Um, I just hope we don't mess anything up..."

"Ooh! Yeah, I want to see it!" Liluye said, hopping from foot to foot excitedly, "But...did someone spill something on it? It's very pretty, but it looks so WEIRD compared to other eggs!" It was just so bright. Though...maybe the harpy would turn out pretty like Iris! What a lucky girl she'd be. No, it didn't occur to her that it might be a boy. She'd never seen a boy harpy before, personally.

Koda smiled gently, "Well, we're actually hoping it will be a boy. Males are very rare among our kind and normally hatch out of brightly coloured eggs like that one. Tonight we're having a naming ceremony for him and his honored sisters, so start thinking of good names!" She stood and mentioned for the three girls to follow her. "When we get close to the eggs be very quiet and careful not to touch them. They're very delicate at this stage."

keeping behind the children as Koda continued to lead them, her pace slowing as they neared the eggs. this was the first time in a long time she had been able to get a good look at Harpie eggs, and none of them had ever been Male. the sight of the beautiful crimson egg was monumental. she found herself holding her breath, as if frighted her breathing might harm it.

The children had gone over to look at the eggs at a closer range. Einin smiled a little. She tucked the flower in her hand into her hair, folded her wings a little closer, and wandered in that general direction herself.

As did Iris, who was finally finished fussing with her decorations. Koda seemed to have the children well in hand, but there would be no harm in keeping an eye on them to make sure that nothing funny happened. So she stood at a small distance, not terribly far from Einin, wings folded comfortabley, surrounding her in color.
The Matriarch meanwhile stood on the other side of the nest next to the proud mother, watching her daughter teach the younglings. If one could lead a group of fledglings, one could lead anyone. Little ones asked the most questions.
"Now my little ones," Kendra remarked smoothly, giving both Tuaria and Lilyue the most even of looks. "If the powers that be do indeed bless us with a male, you would do best to spend more time with him, instead of out and about where you shouldn't be. It may well determine whether or not you are able to have chicks yourself." And they would need all the chicks they could, if they were ever to make the Mountain great.

Liluye was not very much pleased by this idea. She screwed up her nose, fluffing her feathers. She didn't want to spend time around a baby! Orphen would think she'd abandoned him while he was on his little journey with the scary cervi. And she didn't want to have babies! That was for big harpies, not little harpies, like her!

Einin chuckled. "She doesn't seem too pleased with that thought, right now," she remarked quietly to Iris. "Someday, though."

"sound advice" she squawked, so low that it would probably go unnoticed. eyes locked onto the ground again, shoulders hunched to show she felt slightly intimidated. the older female was probably referring to harpy like her. though if Try had never met a male when she was younger, things might have turned out different. eyes flashing upon the child for a moment, she could tell that she was not to fond of the idea. though as she grew older, the patenchal and opportunity for her would be far greater then most females could wish for.

"Give her time," Iris agreed with a soft laugh. "One day she'll come to understand. And perhaps she will look back and laugh at herself." She shifted again, glancing about at the decorations. Despite herself, the harpy still worried that something was going to fall out of place.
Kendra reached out, tapping one clawed finger atop Lilyue's head. "Don't screw your face up in such a way child. It may get stuck that way, and then how will you attract a male?" Eyes sparkled with mischief, and she gave a motherly smile. "Now don't worry. You've some time left to you to play, but try not to wander too far from the nest."
