Ruli watched, transfixed, a moth to the flame. It was horrific, terrific, and absolutely fantasic. He knew nothing else, listened to no other screams of terror from the other bodies in the room, watching her with such utter absorbsion he looked like one brainwashed.
Ten stair, eleven. Hall. All the doors were open, but one.
She looked at the door curiously, from her position of slumped-corpse-like-on-the-ground.
A longing grew inside her. What was behind that door?
She had to know.
Now.
She pulled herself to the door, despretely trying to wrench it open. The lock wouldn't turn, however vainly she tried it. She banged and protested and yanked and yelled, but it was so stubborn it just rusted haughtily.

After a few more bone shifting and crunching sounds, the figure stood vainly and tried to shake off the pain from her body. It ached badly, her skin burned, and her vision was badly blurred because of it.
Baniru tried to stand. Her arms were much longer than her legs, dragging on the ground with a sort of primal thud. Long canines had grown inside her mouth and were puncturing her gums, and the tail behind her back flicked and danced with a mind all it's own.
Her gold eyes settled upon Ruli in a gaze of confusion.
Karma heard the rattling at the door.
"ARALARLARLAR" he called out hoarsely, trying to get himself un-stuck from the window.
Then came the gnat. Ohhh, the gnat.
It kept flying into his face with the buzz of the Devil's handiwork. It was using his eyes for a landing pad! In, out, in, out, out of his ears and nostrils to circle and come back again! Poor little Karma kept smacking himself in the face.

How had life changed?
Things grew out of people?
Is she plant?
He gazed at her with intense curiousity. Her eyes were the colour of the sun, but now they were the fierce glare of it as well. How odd...
"ARALARLARLAR!!" What the hell!? She yelped, jumping into the air.
Physics tell us that when we jump up, we must come down at the same velocity. And she knew, as she crumpled on the floor, velocity hurt. A moment of recovery, and then, responce. She clutched at the doorknob again, trying to use it to pull herself up.

"Stay away." she whispered to the little boy, wiping off her tears. "Stay away, you horrible, ugly, figment of my imagination!"
Baniru grabbed her horns, tugging at them. She could feel the tongue in her mouth begin to stretch and grow longer, like a snake.
"Mam.." Karma whispered sullenly, stuck. He sniffled a little, and then started to cry out of frustration.

Plant-woman talk.
He blew off the words as unintelligable, and began a steady pace toward the creature, intent on finding out what it was.
Wait.
"Kid, hey kid!" She pounded on the door. "Is anyone in there? Can I break down the door?" She grew frantic.
They tiny, frusterated cry motivated her, gave her something to focus on, and it beat down her own fear and pain.

"I said stay away..." the woman stumbled backwards, flinching as the child dared to come closer. She could feel her tail twitch with a mind all it's own, ready to flash in a brilliant display of silver and crimson.. She had to get a grip on herself. She had to.
But that child. That child was what was making her this way. If she let herself go, it would be all over. She could do away with him and get it over with.
Karma wiggled a bit, his behind aimed at the door. "Mamamamamamam?"

Ruli decided that a running leap was in order, and forsake his first steady walk that he ever had experienced in order to reach the retreating morph.
He never took into account that the carpet was rather abused from the actions of today. Meer seconds from reaching the destination, his feet gave out on a rather painful splinter of wood, most likely from the destroyed wreckage that used to be the coffee table. His other foot took this as an assault on the body from the rug, and used the heightened speed to propel the body into the nearest thing that was not the floor.
Of course, it was the creature.
Aura rushed around, searching with a crazed fervor. Anything to get to the tiny boy inside the room! Crowbar! SANCTITY!
She grabbed it, rusty edges and all, and lifted it with both hands, promptly falling to the ground again with a thump and a clang at its weight. Just my luck, isn't it. Just my frikken luck I have to be the weakest link.

Baniru didn't have time to catch herself, tumbling over the weight of the small boy that launched himself at her. She let out an earsplitting cry, hitting the worn out carpet with a resounding SMACK.
"Mamamaaaam!" Karma tried his best to wiggle further, he was almost out the window!

She warm.
"You warm!" He threw his arms around her middle, and sunk into the warmth. Aura was always so cold.
With the strength of one man, she managed to lift the crowbar. She made a little half turn, and swung it, using the momentum to give it it's force (since she was obviously too weak to give it anything more than a lift).
It hit the door.
And stuck there.
Aura stared at it with utter loathing.

The woman stared at the child hugging her middle, laying sprawled out onto the floor. "I'm.. I am?" Her eyes were wide with confusion, a few tears gathering at the corners. "Who are you?" And suddenly, her horns and tail were gone.
The toddler stuck between the window and the pane found himself begginning to slip. It was a positive slip, oh yes, to directly where he wanted to go. "Ba~"

Lady!
The woman was back!
"Woman!" He curdled, letting his arms go and himself to tumble off her.
Aura tried, she really did.
She pulled on the crowbar.
She pushed on the crowbar.
Heck, she even grabbed a random chair sitting in another room, and pummeled the crowbar. But that didn't do anything.
Well, except ruin the chair, of course.
Finally, she kicked the crowbar in frustrated defeat.
One very sore toe led to two, led to three, until her whole foot was aching. Thoroughly exhausted, she slumped against the doorknob.
And it turned.
The door swung open. Aura thumped on the ground where it once was, staring in shock at both the door, and the young child wigging in the window.

"Woah!" the woman scrambled to catch the toddler in her arms, flustered. Her hair was messy, he shirt was stained, and her pants seemed to have a big shred in them...
"Are you alright, little one?" Baniru asked instantly.
At first it was a small creak. Then it grew, oh how it grew. The windowpane was giving in, at last. Karma would be free, that he would. He'd go find Asrafel on his own accord, and there they would live happily ever after.

Ruli smiled, his confusion returning. What had just happened?
Aura raced to the window. "Oh no, you don't!" She put two hands around the toddlers waist, pulling as hard as she could back into the room.
Though it did seem to be working at first, Aura realised that she was not nearly strong enough to keep this up. Her empty stomach notified that to her in a loud, low grumble.

The woman smiled in return.
"Well aren't you a... colorful cutie. Naked too, are you? What's a funny looking kid like you doing in a place like this?"
unless...
Baniru tickled Ruli's tummy with the tip of her finger. "You wouldn't happen to be a sphinx crossbreed, would you? Your tail looks awfully inviting."
Karma nearly jumped out of his skin when the other person touched him. He hadn't noticed, in all his struggle, that another being had even come in. "Bububu~!"

Ruli giggled, despite his unease and confusion over the words. Ssfinckz? Crosbrid? "I is Ruli!" He jabbed his multicoloured hand at his bubbling chest.
Woah! Aura, being very skittish, let go of the boy when he resisted. The little boy's reaction made her think of other children who didn't like to be touched, and she hated to think of why he would jump. It couldn't have been her - children loved her.
But only for your toys, said the niggling, ignored voice in the back of her skull.
