1. How did you discover Gaia? An old roleplaying buddy of mine, way back in late 2003, told me to check it out. I liked what I saw.
2. How did you discover the Writer's Forum? I scrolled down, looking at the different forums. And bam, there it was, and it was like a spotlight was shining down upon me.
3. How long have you been on Gaia? I first joined in November 2003 with an old account which I used for like, a day. I later re-joined in February 2004, with my real name as a username (I was a dumb kid). Within about a month, it became Mr. Moocow. Late last year it became Donut Conspiracy.
4. How long have you been in the Writer's Forum? I've come back and forth now and then, but I've been here for about three weeks.
5. How long have you been posting in the 111? (if you don't know when you first posted, just guesstimate) Two weeks.
6. What was your initial impression of the 111? People were quite rude to me, actually, as I came in with some weird all caps sentence about 'I LOVE BACON', and someone called me a freak.
7. What is your current impression of the 111? People are nice, but possibly on crack.
8. What is your impression of the Circus compared to the 111? (leave blank if you've never been in there) The circus is tangible.
10. How would you define a "regular" of the 111? Someone who has visited daily and plans to for a while.
11. What values do you hold important in regards to the 111? Be nice to eachother, don't expect people to respond to you, and don't be too sane.
12. How frequently would you say you post/lurk in the 111? Daily, and I do things inbetween so I normally don't say goodbye.
13. Have you formed any new beliefs/opinions since joining the 111? What are they? Not really. I just met some funky people.

Optional Questions (but I'd like it if you answered them!):
2. Where are you from? (state or country) Victoria, Australia
3. What is your occupation? (if student, specify high school or college) High school.
4. Who pays for your internet connection? (you, your parents, etc.) Parents.
Optional namedropping ahoy!: Hi mum! heart
5. Who in the 111 do you look up to? Why? Most people, especially the really strange literate ones, like Latke and Mobster Lobster, cause they're entertaining,, and also friends like Major Lee Screwed and Shen Pershan, 'cause they're good guys. And of course, Prisma Colored for being hot.
6. Who in the 111 do you look down upon? Why? Prisma Colored (yes, I look both up and down at her; actually, I've seen her from every angle wink ) for cheating on me. No, actually, that person who called me a freak on day 1. I don't remember who. *checks post archives* Was Birdbrain.

I actually answered this seriously.

1. How did you discover Gaia?
My sister told me about it.

2. How did you discover the Writer's Forum?
Exploring. Taking a peek in all the forums to see what was interesting.

3. How long have you been on Gaia?
Four years this December.

4. How long have you been in the Writer's Forum?
Um… nearly as long as I’ve been on Gaia, I’m pretty sure.

5. How long have you been posting in the 111? (if you don't know when you first posted, just guesstimate)
Since somewhere in the double-digit pages.

6. What was your initial impression of the 111?
Cool bunch of people; interesting conversations. It seemed a very close-knit community, and I kind of felt like an intruder the first few times I posted. Everyone was real nice, though.

7. What is your current impression of the 111?
The quality of conversation has gone downhill a little (I don’t think there’s been more than a handful of conversations in the last year in which sex hasn’t been worked in somehow), and it’s way bigger now.

8. What is your impression of the Circus compared to the 111? (leave blank if you've never been in there)
Much smaller and (usually) has more intelligent conversations. Far less bitching at each other (though bitching to each other is highly prevalent ;P ) and far fewer jokes that only twelve-year-old boys find funny.

9. What was your impression of Teh Minilurve compared to the 111? (leave blank if you never went in there)

10. How would you define a "regular" of the 111?
Someone who has been there for a little while, posts decently often, and isn’t widely hated by the other 111ers.

11. What values do you hold important in regards to the 111?
Remembering that just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean that (a) they shouldn’t be in the 111, or (b) you can b***h at them when/however you feel like it.

12. How frequently would you say you post/lurk in the 111?
I lurk in the 111 nearly every day. I post way less than that.

13. Have you formed any new beliefs/opinions since joining the 111? What are they?
I don’t think so.

Optional Questions (but I'd like it if you answered them!):

2. Where are you from? (state or country)
The Great White North

3. What is your occupation? (if student, specify high school or college)
University student

4. Who pays for your internet connection? (you, your parents, etc.)
Me, technically, since it’s part of my room fees.

1. How did you discover Gaia?

There was a now-defunct webcomic I was reading through in 2003, and the artist was asking people to vote for her in the Art Arena. I decided it was a pretty decent place to waste my time.

2. How did you discover the Writer's Forum?

Well, I've been a heavy reader since I learned how, and I always loved writing. So when I finally got tired of hanging out in the Video Games forum for various reasons, I said, "Oh, a writing forum. lol"

3. How long have you been on Gaia?

Since June of 2003.

4. How long have you been in the Writer's Forum?

Can't quite remember-- stupid post history archives. I think about 3 years?

5. How long have you been posting in the 111?

Shortly after I started posting in the Writer's Forum. So, a bit under 3 years.

6. What was your initial impression of the 111?

Funny people, a little haughty, but everyone had a sharp sense of humour, and as long as people acted intelligently, it wasn't hard to be accepted.

7. What is your current impression of the 111?

I was lucky to be around the 111 while it was still just a hangout for some of the regs to just shoot the breeze. Now, it's a bit more bogged down with cliques and attitudes, and it has developed its own share of cultural memes, for better or worse. Frankly, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be.

8. What is your impression of the Circus compared to the 111?

9. What was your impression of Teh Minilurve compared to the 111?

The Lurve, from what I saw of it, was the 111 taken to a much farther degree of random discussions and vulgarity and closed-mindedness to outsiders. I think they had more fun, though.

10. How would you define a "regular" of the 111?

A lot of people would include acceptance or not being hated by the others, but I think at this point, sheer persistence and being able to hold a conversation with at least one other regular means you've got a place there.

11. What values do you hold important in regards to the 111?

I've found that trying to bring values into a situation like this is not worth the hassle. Maintaining a certain level of intelligence, or at the very least a level of grammatical accuracy, however, is always to be desired, if only because it makes it a little easier to coexist with the other regulars.

12. How frequently would you say you post/lurk in the 111?

I used to post about a dozen times a day back when I was really into it. But now, I usually just lurk for an hour or two, and maybe post if I wind up staying longer or I have something to talk about.

13. Have you formed any new beliefs/opinions since joining the 111? What are they?

Many things have been reaffirmed during my stay, and perhaps some of my beliefs and opinions have been strengthened, but nothing new. Mostly concerning dealing with volatile personalities, to what point sarcasm can be useful... things like that.

Optional Questions:

1. What is your age?

21, with 22 fast approaching.

2. Where are you from?

Canada.

3. What is your occupation?

I'd like to say student (college/university), but I'm between schools right now, and trying to find a job to earn some cash before I hit the books again.

4. Who pays for your internet connection?

My parents.

Optional namedropping ahoy!:

5. Who in the 111 do you look up to? Why?

Most of the people I look up to, no longer venture the forums, or only rarely: The Original 111er (Nyx), Heidi no Lux, Scarlet Jile, Lord Shishio (R.I.P. friend), goatcreature_MAGNUM, clarion, all the old schoolers... and of course, the current WF mods who still hang around (RA, frain, Dev) as well as that angry, angry ex-mod, Bane... Kain may be hated by so many, but what can I say, we've got similar tastes... And although I cannot look up to him, it is only because Buldozer is merely the greatest among equals, and I am truly grateful to be able to see eye-to-eye with him.

6. Who in the 111 do you look down upon? Why?

I think the only time I've ever looked down upon someone in the 111 is when they did some heavy-duty trolling. I can't even hate the little guys like Sokuja_San or Ikaru Kaoku, or the s**t disturbers like Follow My Lied and the others people seem to find so vexing... they have all left their mark, and if you asked me, I would say they are all 111ers.

1. How did you discover Gaia?
I came to a pausing point in a lengthy fantasy story I had been cobbling together for ~4 years. Out of idle curiosity, I did an internet search for the name of the main character. Lo and behold! There she was, on a site called Gaia! surprised
So naturally I decided this virtual realm needed to be explored.

2. How did you discover the Writer's Forum?
I was so involved with story-writing at that point, it was the obvious point of entry.
3. How long have you been on Gaia?
Joined April Fool's Day, 2005. blaugh
4. How long have you been in the Writer's Forum?
Rather continuously since that join date; however I post less and lurk moar than I did in the days of newbity.
5. How long have you been posting in the 111? (if you don't know when you first posted, just guesstimate)
Off and on since page 4k-something. But again, less post, more lurk.
6. What was your initial impression of the 111?
A place of intelligent, literate refuge from the Chatterbox, which is where I initially became a regular, in one of the few non-bump, somewhat literate threads that existed at that time.
7. What is your current impression of the 111?
It has changed, not necessarily for the better. It is presently little more than a higher level version of the Chatterbox. The diversity of characters is what is most appealing. I am pretty much pop-culture illiterate, so much of what takes place now is like a foreign language to me. Still, it is unfailingly entertaining to watch others subsume their late-childhood/young-adulthood to mass-marketed madness and absurdity. razz
8. What is your impression of the Circus compared to the 111? (leave blank if you've never been in there)

9. What was your impression of Teh Minilurve compared to the 111? (leave blank if you never went in there)
From my limited view, basically the 111 in 'poetfag' garb, with a less interesting cast of characters.
10. How would you define a "regular" of the 111?
Someone who is recognized enough by those who frequent the place quite often that they do not get rudely dissed or totally ignored when they appear.
11. What values do you hold important in regards to the 111?
The ability to maintain composure, individuality, and a non-judgmental sense of humor in the presence of sometimes discordant waves of energy and ego.
12. How frequently would you say you post/lurk in the 111?
I used to read every page. I post when I have something meaningful, helpful, or relevant to say.
13. Have you formed any new beliefs/opinions since joining the 111? What are they?
... oh yeah xd
No major epiphanies though, just a fair amount of random insights concerning this earth-creature internet cultural soup in which we are all sloshing around like free radicals in a reactor vessel. rofl
PM if you desire a more detailed reply so's I shant clutter up your Goodly Questionairre.

Optional Questions (but I'd like it if you answered them!):
1. What is your age?
Older Than You.
2. Where are you from? (state or country)
Crowded EastCoast, USA, where the cellphone-abusing SUV-drivers play and the 2-wheelers pray. stressed
3. What is your occupation? (if student, specify high school or college)
College drop-out; presently self employed ebay-alchemist, part time Creator of Strange Art heart
4. Who pays for your internet connection? (you, your parents, etc.)
I do.
Optional namedropping ahoy!:
5. Who in the 111 do you look up to? Why?
I admire those who set writing/artistic/achievement goals for themselves and actually follow through on them. Because they have more self-discipline than I have in the presence of Distractions such as the 111.
6. Who in the 111 do you look down upon? Why?
No one, actually, because we are all complex individuals with our own strengths and shortcomings. The spontaneous interactions, the extremes of give-and-take in an active thread such as the 111 provide everyone a means of insight into their own unique, evolving situation. For every two or three I might choose momentarily to look down upon for some quirky thing about which I do not agree, there would surely be an exponential number looking down on me.
