--The Living Room- September 6th, 2005--
Participants -- Jizzy, Deimos, Tori and Wy.

Jizzy sniffled and coughed softly as she was lead along by the tiny toddler. Roles had currently been reversed and Deimos was now caring for Jizzy in her moment of illness. He pulled her along eagerly, entering the living room. SHe shuddered, despite the welcoming warmth in the room and despite her fuzzy sweater. Deimos led her to a large armchair and sat her down.

"Mother rest here. Mother get fresh air and rest and Mother get better." Deimos proclaimed exitedly, though deep down he was worried. He felt an urge to defend Jizzy, to protect what was his. Occasionally he'd get flashes of visions, specifically one of an old woman hunched over in an alley wall, motionless and (Deimos belived) dead. The old woman would soon fade and Jizzy's limp form was replaced in his mind and this only increased his drive to make her feel better.

Tori shuffled into the room a few minutes after Jizzy, holding a rather alert and, for once, not-sleeping Wycliff. He frowned as he noticed his friend's condition, although a warm smile came to his face as he heard Deimos' proclamation. "Here you go, Wycliff and I are here to help, too..." The tall man leaned down, placing his Mishap on the floor.

Wycliff shot off toward Deimos, happy to see his friend again. His form was odd, different; the other Mishap was taller, better developed than before. Wycliff didn't care, though; he reached foreward, hugging Demios tightly.

Jizzy raised her hand at Tori in greeting, but her hand flew to her mouth as a loud series of coughs shook her weak figure. "Hello Tori.." She said meekly, her voice horse.

Deimos was taken by surprise when Wycliff glomped him and he was a split second away from snapping one of the arms around him when he came to the realization of who it was. "WY!" He exclaimed exitedly, and meekly wraping his arms around him in a short hug.

"Aww, Jizzy, you okay?" Tori said, shuffling quickly toward her. He lowered her form onto a couch, retrieving a blanket and tucking her in. "There...What's wrong?"

Wycliff smiled, his ears twitching a little. "Dei, dei!" He said, not able to speak as well as Deimos, who was a toddler, while Wy was still a baby.

Jizzy tried to wave Tori away, but in her weakened state she was easily led over to the couch and tucked in. Her skin was flaming to the touch and she coughed again. "I think I may have a small *cough* cold.." She said weakly, smiling faintly.

Deimos freed himself from Wycliff''s grasp and sat down next to him. "I miss Wy. We need play again." He said matter of factly.

Tori frowned, noticing how flushed and hot Jizzy seemed, and his frown increased. "I think you may have something more..." He said, his voice barely a whisper as he shuffled away, and then back a few moments later, with a wet cloth. "This should help..." The tall man gently placed the cloth on Jizzy's forehead.

Wy nodded, understanding what Deimos was saying, even if he couldn't say it himself. The little Mishap reached out, taking one of Demios' arms and swinging it around. "Swim, swim!" He yelled, giggling; Tori had gone on a little swimming venture with Wy the other day, in the bathtub, and Wy hadn't stopped trying to swim ever since.

Jizzy groaned slightly as the wet cloth came into contact with her burning forehead. "I'm.. I'm fine.. Justa little cold, I'll be back on me feet in noo.. ti..tii...ACHOO!' Jizzy sneezed loudly, covering her face with a hanky and falling back weakly onto the couch.. "Beside.s. I can't afford to get sick.." She said, and in truth, she meant it litterally. She couldn't actually afford to be sick..

Deimos looked at Wycliff oddly for a moment before it clicked what he meant. Deimos hadn't actually tried to swim, especially with Jizzy so suddenly sick. "Wy can swim?" He asked his friend, wondering if that was what he meant.

Tori started to say something, but the sneeze cut him off. Suddenly, he was falling, falling down to the ground, and he didn't know how to help himself. He tried to shout, but his voice came out as a baa, several times. Tori was a sheep.

Wycliff nodded, giggling loudly and waving his arms about. "Swimswim! Wyswim!" He shouted, tongue swishing happily. Although it had mostly been Tori holding him and Wy flailing about, Wycliff had had a lot of swimming 'experience.'

Jizzy blinked. Had she just heard a baa? She looked down, spotting a sheep, blinked again and her tired mind finally made the connection. "Shiznit! Tori! I'm so sorry!" She said very quickly, sitting up rapidly, but insteantly regretting it. The world spun around her and before she could say another word, she had sneezed again.

Deimos nodded. Wy certainly seemed exited. Perhaps Deimos could get him to teach him how to swim. He needed to swim if he wanted to eb a good pirate. "Wy. I make you deal. You teach me to swim, and I make you first mate of my pirate crew." Deimos said, feeling very clever as he was going to make Wy his first mate anyways.

Tori 'baa'ed again, frowning his little sheep snout. His eyes widened as he heard another sneeze; in a matter of seconds, he had grown to his normal height, and then some. Long feathers pushed out of his skin, and he flapped large wings, while flexing very long legs. He was an ostrich.

Wy nodded, laughing. "Swim!" He shouted for at least the twentieth time that day, turning and crawling toward the bathroom. Every bathroom had a tub, right?

Jizzy gasped as an ostrich appeared in front of her. "Really Tori.. Oh goodness.. How.. how was it to reserve it.. I..I.. ACHOO!" Jizzy sneezed again. This was terrible. Jizzy hadn't used magic in ages, and she didn't remember too much of it, well, not in the Tylenol haze she was in.

Deimos stood and followed Wycliff towards the bathroom. He's taken this eager response as a yes and his smile was ear to ear. Not only did he have a first mate now, but he's learn how to swim.

Tori rolled his large ostrich eyes, squawking as Jizzy sneezed again. Oh no, more! His body shrunk and became long, green scales covering it quickly like grass sprouting from the ground. "Oh nrrrowowww!!" He shouted, his voice becoming deep, a growl. See you later, alligator.

Wycliff crawled fast, his tail wagging happily. "Swim, water, swim!" He said, obviously having learned a couple words since Deimos had seen him last. He didn't know how to work a bathtub, but he was sure he could figure it out, to help his friend.

Jizzy was horror struck. She'd never felt so guilty before. "Oh please.. uh let em get this right.." She said as she waved a shaking hand over Tori, muttering a few words under her breath, hoping against hope it would turn him back to normal.

Deimos followed him into the bathroom and spotted the bathtub. "We swimming in that?" He asked incredulously, pointing at it.

Tori blinked, little waves of poof-gas wafting off of him. "Er...thanks, Jizzy.." He said, happy that his voice, and not only his form, was normal again.

Wy nodded happily, getting up on two legs to try and waddle toward it. "Water..." He said, drooling a bit, although he didn't mean to. He was very excited.

Jizzy grinned sheepishly at Tori. "I am so sorry.. I.. I've never done that before.." She said weakly and shakily. THis event had obviously shaken her up, not improving her condition at all.

Deimos peered into the tub and arched an eyebrow wing. 'No water, empty.." He said, moving over to the faucet and turning it on. 'NOW Water."

"Oh, it's fine..." Tori frowned slightly, gently sliding his hand across Jizzy's forehead. "I'm sorry I was around to get changed...Wish I could help more..."

Wycliff giggled, trying to climb into the tub. He was sure he could swim, daddy said he could, so of course he could do it! Unfortunately, Wycliff is a tad too short, so just succeeded in sliding down the side of the tub.

Jizzy coughed again, though she was trying hard to supress any signs of her illness. This made her feel slightly woozy and her fever to skyrocket. She lay down from sheer instict, breathing heavily. Cold sweat dappled her forehead now and she winced slightly in discosfort.. "Tori.. I''m sorry.. I don''t ussually get sick.. and well, I haven''t used magic in years.." She said weakly.

Deimos turned of the faucet wehn the tub was to its brim and watched Wy struggle. He soon came up behind him, placing his haands under Wy''s arms and hoisting him up with surprising strength for a toddler. Soon there was a splash and Wy was in the water. Another splash and Dei had joined him, clothes and all.

Tori frowned, shuffling away and coming back with several cold towels, which he draped over most of Jizzy's body. She seemed so uncomfortable. "Hey, it's okay, Jizzy..." He cooed, hoping she would take his words to heart, and relax a litte. "You just concentrait on getting better, okay?"

Wycliff waved his hands around a bit, giggling. He turned naturally onto his back, floating and waving his tail like a little rudder. "Swimswim!" The little Rhino-boy shouted, giggling.

Jizzy shifted around among the cold towels, feeling her body shiver, yet embrace the coolness at the same time. She sniffled and snuggled among the towels, her cheeks flushed despite the shifting temperatures of her body. "A..alirght.. I just... I gave up magic a long time ago.. and.. I.. shouldn;t be using it.." She said drowsily. This was something she nver would have said in the right state of mind, but illness did odd thinsg to people.

Deimos just watched Wycliff, a small scowl on his face as the water made his clothes cling to him. His cloak was getting wet. "Wy, swimming?" He asked oddly, that certainly did not look like swimming.

"Ah well..." Tori smiled softly, gently stroking Jizzy's forehead. "Everyone does things they know they shouldn't, no matter the consequences...And anyway, you're sick..." The tall man kneeled down by the woman, hoping to be there if she needed anything.

Wy frowned, trying to crane his neck to see Dei, but failing. "Swimswim!" He yelled, waving his tail some more. Good thing he floated; with his weight, he couldn't do much else without formal training.

Jizzy head lolled slightly on the pillows. It was so hot. She murmured something before speaking clearly again.. "Besides, I don't want.. Dei.. if he knows how much I can do.. he'll want me to. teach him and.. I couldn't bring myself to.." She rambled on incoheretly for a few more words then faded away.

"You got to be kidding me..." Deimos said softly, becoming rather annoyed at his friends failed attempt at swimming. "I just getting wet.." He exclaimed, reaching out to get Wycliff upright. "Dei to big to swim in tub.." He explain to Wycliff, this was his excuse

"Ah, well...Everything will be okay, Jizzy..." Tori said, trying his best to comfort her, even though she was obviously out of it. "I think Wycliff is distracting Dei anyway, so he probably doesn't even know..."

Wycliff frowned, pointing up at his friend. "Dei swim no!" He yelled, trying to convince him that he wasn't doing it right. Dei was small enough, he just had to float.

Jizzy's head lolled to the side slightly are she groaned in discomfort. "I just.. want the best for him... I really do.." She murmured and winced as a wave of pain flowed through her. Her fever was getting worse.

Deimos raied and eyebrow wing but let himself fall over, he quickly found his head submerged under the water and flew upward s again, his eyes wide. 'No.. no swimming. drowning!"

"Of course you do, and he knows that..." He leaned down, frowning softly. What else could he do for her? "You're doing the best you can..."

Wycliff cocked his head to the side, laughing. "Float Di, no drown!" Obviously, Wycliff was the master of floating, and Deimos didn't know the art yet.

"Could I have a bit of water?" Jizzy suddenly asked. SHe felt like she was burning up on the inside. Hopefuilly water would put the blaze out.

Deimos growled softly at Wy's laugher but tried again, spreading himself out in the large tub. He was floating.. "DEI FLOAT!" He exclaimed triamphantly, not daring to move much though.

To be continued...

--The Living Room- September 7th, 2005--
Participants -- Jizzy, Deimos, Kii and Shavira.

KiiMeLwi was rushing...always rushing when it came down to her baby. Shavira was protesting, and pulling at her mother's hair, crying for food. KiiMeLwi balanced a bottle of blueberry flavored while balancing the screaming child. It wasn't easy. Finding a chair, she sat as soon as possible and began to feed her hungry Shavi.

Jizzy came into the kitchen quietly, though she could be heard at least five minutes before her arrival. Coughs and sneezes gave away her location as she drowsily stumbled into the kitchen, Deimos holding her by the hand. "Thank you Dei.. I'll make my tea now.." She said horsely, realeasing the small childs ahnds and heading for the mugs.

Deimos had taken it onto himself to escort his sick mother everywhere. When she relieved him of his duties, he looked around quickly spotting Shavira and Kii. Shavi looked familiar and he stared at them for a while, not saying anything.

Upon the arrival of Jizzy and Deimos, Kii stood, though didnt stop feeding Shavi. "OH! Hello!" She looked quizically at Jizzy. "You...don't sound very good. Are you alright? Ill?" She walked towards the other guardian as she finished feeding Shavira. "Jizzy...right?"

Deimos instictively put himself between Kii and Jizzy. He hadn't yet figured out his standpoint towards her and until then she wasn't getting anywhere near his mother.

Jizzy nodded, then shook her head. She put some water in the mug along with the tea bag and popped it into the microwave. "I have a little cold, and yes, Jizzy.. I'm sorry, I forgot your name.." She said apologetically. She could barely remember left from right at the moment and she looked as if she had much more than a 'little' cold.

KiiMeLwi stopped the second Deimos stepped in front of HER. She looked down, confused for a moment, then bent down to get to his level. "Oh, hello, little...er...oh dear. I believe I've forgotten your name...D...something..." She giggled, slightly nervous at the look she was getting. "What's your name? The last time I saw you, you were like Shavi here." She nodded towards the baby in her arms, who was staring at Deimos.

"I have to admit that seems like a very bad cold..." KiiMeLwi looked back at Jizzy. "The flu, perhaps? Here, if you sit down, I could get you whatever you came here for." She smiled at Deimos again, still crouching, and said to the both of them, "My name is KiiMeLwi. Or Kii. Or Kiwi. Or...well, you get the idea."

Meanwhile, Shavira, from Kii's arms, was staring at Deimos so intently that it seemed as if she thought if she looked away, something terrible would happen. Mouth half open, and arm a bit outstretched, Shavi gurgled at this bigger Mishap.

Deimos stared just as fiercely back at Shavira. She was so tiny. "I Deimos.." He said simply, not tearing his eyes from the smaller mishap, not moving from his post in front of his mother.

Jizzy sniffled slightly as the microwave binged. "Thank you Kii.. *sniff* But I just came for some tea.." She said, taking the steaming cup out from the microwave and dipping the bag in and out of the warm water a few times. She took a long sip then a releaved sigh. "Perhsps the flu. I ussually don't get sick though.." She said as she strode shakily, taking a seat at the table with her tea. "How are you though?" SHe asked politely, her sleepy eyes turning to Kii and Shavira.

KiiMeLwi smiled at Deimos, nodding. "A wonderful name! It's so nice to meet you Deimos." She saw how Deimos stared at Shavi, and Shavira stared at him, so she thought for a moment, then let her baby down, so she could crawl around and 'meet' Deimos. "This is Shavira, Deimos...I think she wants to say hi..." She brushed her hands and half, stood, half still bent, and glanced at Jizzy.

"I'm sorry I can't do anything to help...hmm...if you ever want, I could watch Deimos for you...Being sick with a small child can't be a good experience..." She nodded. "I'm quite fine, especially compared to the way I imagine you must be feeling...no offense meant, of course." She added hastilly. "I'm mostly just tired, though getting used to it..."

At being let down, Shavira slid on her butt so she could try to be closer to Deimos to inspect him. "BAH!" She burbled, reaching out, and waving to the older Mishap. "..ahhh!"

Jizzy shook her head faintly. "I'll be fine. And Deimos is behaving rather well." She said softly, taking another sip of her tea. The sleeve of her large sweater rolled down, and she promptly rolled up back up, the sweater was perhaps twice her size. "He's been taking care of me, right Dei?"

Deimos nodded fervently. "Dei no let Mother burn!" He exclaimed proudly. He was bent upon the idea that Jizzy would burn if her skin got to hot, so he tended to her constantly, possibly a bit to much. He then turned back to the burbling baby. "Shavi.. Wierd name. What those?" He asked, pointing to her snakes.

Shavira burbled again, and grabbed Deimos' shirt, laughing. Now free from KiiMeLwi's grip, Shavira's snakes wiggled around and about, trying to investigate this new being.

KiiMeLwi smiled at Jizzy then Deimos. "Well thats perfect! Little Deimos is helping you? What a good boy! You're doing a good job, Deimos." She clapped her hands softly, and continued to watch the two in front of her. "Mmm. Shavira. And those are snakes. They dont USUALLY come out of bellys, but thats one thing that makes Shavira special."

Deimos scowled at the invasion of his space and genmtly picked up Shavira's hand and placed it off his shirt. "No touchy.." He said simply. When the time was right, he'd allow contact, but right now he was still undecided. "Snakes bite?" He asked Kii as he heard what they were and stepped away slightly.

Jizzy sniffled and took another sip of her tea, coughing loudlyl. Bead of cold sweat rolled down her forehead and her cheeks were tinged bright pink. "It's a nice change.. Deimos is ussually very.. demanding.." SHe siad simply, couching again, her face screwed up in pain for a moment. Her skin felt like it was on fire, despite all the things she and the other owners had done.

Shavira's laughing died down and she merely continued to stare, hand back in her lap. He was moving away. She wondered what was wrong, and looked up at KiiMeLwi. KiiMeLwi looked worried.

"Actually Deimos...I don't know why they do...I think they only do it if you hurt them...If you be careful, and don't scare them, they won't." She smiled, trying to reassure him. Hearing Jizzy, KiiMeLwi laughed. "I noticed...but thats alright. He seems adorable. You're raising him well...are you alright?" She stood straighter, looking concerned.

Deimos seemed slightly reassured byt the staement and walked back towards Shavira. He extended a small hand towards her snakes. "Snakes no bite?" He said cautiously.

Jizzy sniffled and gave a loud, hacking cough, but she plastered a soft smile on her face, despite the pained look in ehr eyes. "I'm just a bit sick, I'll get better in no time.." SHe said gently, but as soon as she finished started coughing fiercely again.

The snakes obeyed...they didn't bite...but they didn't feel threatened...not exactly. They felt a bit unnerved...which oddly enough, Shavira could slightly feel, but not threatened. They swirled around the tiny fingers, and licked them a couple of times as their tongues flickered...Shavira just wacthed this in amusement.

KiiMeLwi paused for a moment, watching Shavira's snakes intently. If she saw any of them LOOKING as if ready to bite, she'd move Deimos away. Kii noticed the snakes weren't being harmful, but they weren't as excited and active as they had been around Wycliff. She wondered why. Nodding her head slowly, she turned to Jizzy again. "Oh dear...I think you better get some rest...that doesn't sound good at all! You need to get better, and fast!"

Deimos chuckled slightly as the snakes licked him and he nodded in approval, his tail swishing cheerfully. "Snakes nice.. Shavi nice too.." He stated, letting the snakes entwine themselves in his fingers a bit more

Jizzy shook her head. "All I've done is rest, I couldn't possibly rest anymore if I wanted to.." She said, coughing again and shivering, despite her overly large sweater.

Seeing Deimos chuckle let Shavira relax. She giggled, and then started to laugh, watching her snakes dance. "BAH!" She screeched, giggling.

"Oh dear..." KiiMeLwi walked over to Jizzy and patted her back awkwardly. "I think...you need a doctor. Did you take any medicine?"

Deimos was throughroughly enjoying himself, and soon he slipped his fingers away, swishing his tail in front of Shavi. "Seee, me move too."

Jizzy shook her head. "I doubt any medicine could he.. he.. ACHOOO!" She sneezed loudly and the mug in her hand turned into a large potato. She tried to take a swig, but that wasn't exactly possible at the moment.. "Oh darnit.."

KiiMeLwi''s face dropped, and she bent down, covering her face. Suddenly, she burst into laughter. "Ahhh..." When she finally stopped. "Let me make you some more..." She headed towards the microwave again, stepping around the two Mishaps.

Shavira looked in awe at Deimos'' tail. She hadn''t really seen one this close. It was moving...She reached out the grab it and missed. Using both hands, very determined, she tried again, and her fingertips made contact. She giggled in glee.

Jizzy took out her hanky and wiped her nose.. "Sorry.." SHe said, placing the potato gingerly on the table. "a..a..ACHOOO!" She sneezed again, this time into the hanky and a empty cardboard box dropped down enar the two toddlers.

Deimos glanced at her shiftly, making sure she didn't yank his tail. He continued swishing it slioghtly. "Does Shavi like my tail?" He asked her.

KiiMeLwi smiled. "Don't you worry yourself about it..." She turned back, pulled out a mug, and began heating some water. "I'll do all I can..." She glanced across the room and giggled at the potato.

Shavira was amazed. She knew she was being spoken to...he could SPEAK. She tried, desperately. "BAH! AHHH! NAAAAHAAA!" She giggled at her own pitiful attempts...

Jizzy smiled faintly at Kii, snuggling among the folds of her sweater. It felt good to have so many friends here at Mishap HQ.. She certainly could say she felt welcome.

Deimos tooka deep sigha nd shook his head. "We start small.. Say Dei!" He instructed, taking on the task of teaching the baby to speak. 'Dei!" He repeated.

Water heated, and tea bag out and ready, KiiMeLwi took the mug back to Jizzy and placed the bag in it, smiling. "I hope thats alright." She sat down across from Jizzy and sighed, rubbing her eyes. "Feel better soon, okay dear?"

Shavira looked in awe at Deimos. Speech..."Daa?" She tried, very hard, to form the letters she barely knew into words. "Daaaheeeh?"

"I will eventually I think.. thank you.." SHe said, taking the mug into her hands and drinking heartily from it. She sniffled. "This cold's been rather dreadful.. I.. can't control my. ma.. A..A..A..CHOO!" Jizzy sneezed, a small alarm clock ringing on the table.

Deimos shook his head. "DEI! Not hard. See, me say you name. Shavi!" He said, his patience growing thin.

KiiMeLwi smiled, and waved a hand, before picking up the ringing alarm clock to shut it off. "Don't you worry yourself about thanking me. Just getting better." She grinned, and turned to look at Deimos and Shavira.

"Deimos, dear, I'm sorry to say Shavi hasn't really been able to say anything yet. She might not get to saying your name..."

Shavira's eyebrows scrunched together, her hands clenched into fists. She closed her eyes VERY tightly, seeming to try VERY hard to get out Dei's name. "DAAHEH! DaaaaHEEii...DAHEI!" She screeched, then paused, opening eyes to glance at Deimos.

Jizzy sniffled and nodde d small thanks, taking another long drink of tea.. "I haven't used magic in *sniff* such a long time.. I.. I'm not supposed to.." She said in a hushed voice, the fever either making her delusional, or overly trusting.

Deimos felt his temper boil under the surface. He wasn't one who was very patient. "Dei! Not hard. Say DEI!" He ended up shouted at the small child, which recieved a very reprimanding look from Jizzy and he made a mental note to keep his voice at a very high talking, but not quite shouting, level.

KiiMeLwi, half-distractedly, glanced at Jizzy. "Magic, eh...I'm not...er...very magical." She grinned.

Shavira, eyes open, fists unclenched, and mouth wide open in shock, stared at Deimos before tears finally formed in her eyes. Pointing at Deimos, she started to sniffle and hiccup. She didn't like the yelling...never liked the yelling. "DAAHEEII! DEEEEH! DEEEEHI!"

Jizzy shot Deimos another repremanding look which she knew would make the child feel rather guilty. She smiled meekly over at Kii though. "I don't let myself use magic.. Not for ages.." SHe sniffled, feeling her skin burn up.

Deimos saw her tears and her cries and immediatly felt guilt well up inside him. "No. no cry. See, Shavi say Dei. Shavi smart!" Deimos exclaimed, tryying to calm the child.

Kii, startled at Shavi's sudden outburst, glanced to and fro, to her Mishap then at Jizzy. Finally she gave up, and decided to see what would happen...maybe...Shavira needed this..? She hoped she was doing the right thing. "Is there a reason?" Kii picked at her fingers, a bit nervous.

Shavira's tears began drying up, but she continued to hiccup. "Deeeh....iie?" She mumbled, still determined.

Jizzy took another long swig and sighed. 'WHat kind of example would I be to Dei if I just nspaped my fingers and had everything I needed.. nee.. ACHOOO" Another sneeze and a small gecko appreared on the table, looked frightenedly around and scruried off.

Deimos nodded approvingly, still hoping Shavira wouldn't start crying again. "See. Shavi smart. Shavi can say Dei as little. That mean Shavi smart like Dei."

"Ah...I see..makes sense. Bless you." Kii's head snapped back to stare at Shavira. Turning back to look at Jizzy, mouth slightly open, she gaped. "Did...did she just say something that sounded like...Dei?" She stared at Dei this time, shocked. "Amazing...how he can do that! I havent been able to make Shavi say ANYTHING!" She could hardly move.

Shavira's hiccuping stopped completely and she started to giggled, clapping. She was VERY proud of herself! "Deeeiiee! DEEEIIEEH!!~" She was in love with his name already..the only thing she could really say.

Jizzy chuckled and nodded in thanks. "Deimos is like that.. He ussually gets his way one way or another, depsite how hard I may try to avoid it." She said, feeling rather faint and light headed as she took another long sip of tea.

Deimos was very proud of Shavira as well and he gave her and her snakes all a small pat on the head, but as Kii said Bless you to Jizzy, his eyes turned cold and his body shivered.. That had been enough. He turned to face Kii angryly. "Why you say bad thing to Mother? She sick! Why you say B.. bl.. that thing?" Deimos couldn't even bring himself to say the word bless.

"...eh?" Kii's eyes were wide and confused. "Did I say something?" She blinked once, twice, then turned too look at Jizzy.

Meanwhile, Shavira cooed at being petted, but became wary at Deimos' tone. She looked up at him, and realized it wasn't she he was upset at but...her mother! What happened? She gazed at the others in the room, knowing she was the only one to not understand at all...

Jizzy pondered for a moment, then it hit her. "You said.. Ble.." She cut off after recieveing a nasty glare from Deimos. "You know, when I sneezed."

Deimos humphed. "It's bad word! It make Dei feel bad and mother aready feel bad!" He said angryly.

KiiMeLwi, mouth half open, stared at Deimos. "...what does...OH." She glanced at Jizzy before removing herself from the table to bend down near the small child. "I'm sorry, Deimos...I...er...It's a habbit, I'm sorry. I promise not to say it again, alright?" She smiled, hopeful. "I didn't mean to make you feel bad."

Shavira continued to stare, though she did wiggle around a bit, a little uncomforable on the floor.

Deimos seemed content witht this promise and turned back to Shavira, sitting down next to her. "So smart Shavi, what else you say?" He asked her, hoping to ztir more words from the small child.

Jizzy heaved a happy sigh.. "I think it upsets him because of his demonic blood.. I don't really know how he reacts to stuff like that, but from this I wouldn;t dream of getting him enar a church or something of the sort."

KiiMeLwi shivered at the thought of Jizzy even trying, or accidentally doing it. Seeing the childs reaction to something as small as a word made her feel a little uncomfortable. And fearful. Not a good thing. "It makes sense. Do be careful...especially if he reacts so..easily."

Shavira smiled at Deimos, right before yawning broadly. She blinked a few times, rubbed her eyes with a small fist, and pointed at Dei. "Deeeiiieeee..." She mumbled, giggling softly. "BaaHaahaa!"

JIzzy sniffled and nodded. "He's a handfull, I'll tell you that, but I wouldn't trade him in for the world.. He can be really sweet at times, when he isn't being.. well.. evil.." Jizzy said the last word jokingly and chuckled softly.

Deimos sighed, so that's all she could say. "Smart Shavi can say Shavi, yes? Shavi?" He repeated, his eyebrow wings dropping in his attempt to teach her words.

To be continued...

--Trouble and Trees - October 2nd, 2005--
Participants: Deimos, Aido, Reid, Jizzy, A very angry elder tree and and even angrier Jabir.

The sand crunched gently beneath the Tale's bare feet as Aido sat heavily on the side of the sandbox, watching her younger brother flit about, gentle glow illuminating the otherwise dark lighting the area was currently experiencing.

It was the middle of the night, some bizarre hour during which most would probably be asleep, but Aido was restlessly awake and had offered to take Reid, who was simply reveling in the night and working off the excess energy that came from a day or mostly sleeping, down into the seemingly open air of the Green Area while their mother caught up on some much needed sleep.

The firefly Mishap sat down in the center of the sandbox and looked around pensively, smiling as the sound of crickets chirping became louder now that he'd stopped moving. Somewhere off in the woods an owl hooted and Reid's glow brightened at the pleasant sound. Looking at his sister, who was humming under her breath he prompty attempted to imitate the hoot, though the sound came out rather differently than he'd intended it to, causing the babe to make a face. Aido merely chuckled and hooted back at him.

Though Deimos would never truly admitted, he relished in his mother's current illness. This meant she slept more, for longer and at night he could sneak out that much easier. Todya he planned to see the outside of the HQ by night and was making hsi was down to the gardens.

Now Deimos could see relatively well at night, so the glow in the distance seemed rather oddly placed to him. He gazed at it, and hissed as he identified it as a a halo.. It was instict. It took hima few seconds to realize who the halo belonged to.

"AI!"

Aido blinked and looked around at the sound her her name being called.

Reid, just as curious about the sudden new noises crawled over to his sister's legs and attempted to climb up them, only to be picked up halfway through as Aido stood, finally sighting Deimos.

With a grin the Tale waved her free hand towards the Mishap, "hey Dei!"

The demonic mishap rushed towards Aido, his cloak belowing behind him and his tail swishing, though it as more of a happy wag than anything else. "What Ai doing out late?" He asked and spotted Reid, wavving softly. "AI take care of little?"

"Dei!" Reid chirped in sudden recognition as the Mishap headed their way, so his sister and Dei did know eachother! He returned the older Mishap's wave with one of his own, glowing softly in pleasure as Aido placed him on the ground and gave Deimos a small hug.

"Didn't feel like sleeping," Aido explained, sitting on the ground so she was at level with the two mishaps. She nodded at Reid, "mhm, m'watching little," she smiled at that nickname, "while Aemu gets some sleep, what're you doing out by yourself?"

"'Sploring.." He replied giving AIdo a soft squeeze before parting. He wasn't the biggest fan of being hugged. "I go 'sploring when Mother sleeps." He said, patting the small Mishap on the head as a greeting. "Will Ai and Reid go 'sploring with me?"

"Sure," the Tale was always up for a bit of exploring. She looked to her baby brother who had just made a face at Deimos after being patted. "What do you think Reid?"

Reid gave her a curious look at that, not understanding with "sploring" was. He shrugged and crawled to where Aido's bag was and attempted to open it.

"I think that means yes..." Aido murmured and opened the bag for him. Reid grinned at his elder sibling and quickly plunged into the bag. A moment later he emerged with something firmly clasped in all of his hands so that no part of it peaked out.

"Dei-ar'n," he stated firmly, looking at Aido meaningfully.

"Oh!" Aido started and grinned at her brother, "I forgot we had him with us."

Reid lopsidedly crawled back to Deimos as Aido gently took one of Deimos' hands so Reid could place the object firmly within the older boy's grasp, keeping it hidden for as long as possible before he removed his own hands. Sitting in Deimos' hand was a small, plush devil-tailed doll.

"Reid got him for you, he's a wishing doll," Aido explained with a smile.

Deimos gazed at the small doll in his hand. Then look up at Reid and Aido. "Thanks.. Dei give present to Reid one day too. Equilent 'change.. k" He said and brought his tail around, slipping the doll onto it. "Does he have a name, like Zir?' He asked. He liked it when things had names...

"Mhm, his name is-"

"Ar'n!" Reid stated proudly and Aido nodded.

"Aeron," she translated smoothly.

((and, for those curious: Aeron=maculine form of Agrona who was the Goddess of war and death heart ))

Dei gave Aeron a gentle push so it swing softly on his tail. "Aeron almost as cool as Zir." He said, smirking at the pair. "Now come. We go to forest!" He said, pointing towards the forest over in the distance. During the picnic Jabir had prevented him from enetering it, which was a perfect reason to go inside.

If Aido had known that generally one was not supposed to go into the forest, more likely than not she would have steered their group in another direction. But the Tale had no idea of that rule and the forest merely looked like the one at home so she nodded and tried to pick up her younger brother.

Reid grumbled and quickly wriggled out of her grasp, he could move on his own after all, and headed towards the forest at a quick crawl.

With a shrug she followed, silently calling out to Rael who responded sleepily, letting her know he was nearby if anything should happen.

Deimos led the way into the dark forest, despite the fact the he was the only one who didn't cast light forth. He marched without fear into the towering trees. "You think there treasure here?" He said as he weaved in and out of trees.

"Maybe," Aido murmured, following Deimos closely, her halo glowing warmly, illuminating the area around them. Stooping down she finally got a firm hold on Reid who huffed but didn't wrestle out of her arms this time. Crawling was hard work, espically with so many huge trees about to go around.

Emerald eyes glanced about, taking advantage of Reid's new posistion to see deeper into the forest they were steadily making their way into.

Deimos was fearless to the forest, moving away branch and bramble in his path. "Well I find the treasure and be a pirate!" He said, swerving. The exit of the forest was nowhere in sight now..

Aido glanced over her shoulder, just a flicker of worry in her gaze when she saw that the exit was out of sight. It was fine to be this deep into the forest when she was by herself but she couldn't help but worry about what might happen. If they went in too much further she'd call Rael and get them all out of there.

"Piie?" Reid asked curiously, tasting the sound of the new word and wondering what it could mean.

"Pirate! I captain and I have big crew. I have Wy, Ai, Zir and Osso." He explained, before he tripped and fell face first over a very very large treebranch. He grumbled and got up, hissing at the gigantanourmous tree. The only tree he'd ever seen that was bigger was the one at Crossroads.

Reid was about to ask what a captain was when his attention was drawn up the sides of the huge tree. Besides him Aido gasped at the magnitude of it.

"Wow..." she breathed, she didn't think there was a tree in exsistance bigger than the Crossroads, but here it was.

Dei grumbled and knocked his small fist into the tree, causing a load of leaves rain down upon them, many getting stuck in Dei's hait, which only made him more upset. "Stupid tree.." He hissed and took one step forward before he flew upwards, now hanging upside by his foot from a vine.. Damn them smart trees..

Aido gasped and gripped onto Reid a little tighter, rushing forward, besides her Rael poked his head out of the ground, "Deimos! Are you alright?"

"Dei!" Reid called up in concern.

"Of course not ok. I UPSIDE-DOWN!!" Deimos shouted, flailing around with the tree, but the vine seemed to have an iron hard grip on his ankle. "LEMME GO, DUMB TREE" At this insult the vine lurched and the small wish doll fell from hsi tial to the floor. "Aeron!!!!"

In one fluid movement Aido had mounted Rael and the shadow had propelled them into the air, jumping from branch to branch towards Deimos.

The tiny wishing doll feel neatly into Reid's lap as Aido pushed herself up, off of Rael's back and onto one of the branches. Her insticts all focused on getting Deimos out of the trees grip before something awful could happen.

"Please don't hurt him," she called seemingly to the tree, hoping Deimos would stop calling the tree dumb, it couldn't be making it feel any kinder in regards to the Mishap in its grasp.

Rael bounded off the tree and quickly headed back to the bottom to leave Reid then come back for the Tale and the Mishap.

Seeing that he was heading away from the others Reid glared and attempted to jump off the Shadow like Aido had done, but instead found himself unable to move, tiny tendrils of Shadow were wrapped. With a indignant gasp her growled and attempted to wrestle his way out, letting out a sad little whine when he realized he couldn't escape.

Deimos flailed as the vine carried him up. 'Lemme go!!" He said and hen puled himself up and began tearing at the vine with his claws. At theis onslaught another vine dropped down and gripped Dei's other leg and swing him around. "AHHHH, LEMME GO!!" HE shouted.

The tree rumbled slightly, perhaps hissing even as it tossed Dei around like a rag doll.

Bending down Aido swung herself down, latching her legs around the tree branch and grabbing a bit of her own shadow. With a hiss the slippery tendril sharpened in her hand, becoming a crude, knifelike object. As the vine neared she grabbed it and cut just above where he hand held. "Grab hold of it Dei!" she called.

Reid was so frustrated he'd begun to bang his tiny fists against Rael's backside, babeling viscously. The Shadow, while not hurt from the onslaught, grumbled unhappily.

Deimos did, and soon he was dangling by the vine. The tree hissed in pain. Deimos looked down and gasped softly. "I just relaized I dun like heights..." He said, trying hard not to let fear in his voice but it showed.

"leave the demon with me..." The tree rumbled in almost a low growl. It talked too. 0-o

"I'm sorry if we've hurt you but I'm not leaving Deimos," the Tale placed stress on the name, "with you. Espically if you're going to hurt him." In typical Aido fashion she didn't seem to be at all surprised that the tree talked merely angry that it would try to hurt Deimos. Her legs slid a bit as Deimos's full weight was placed on the vein in her hands and quickly she began to haul him up.

"It'll be okay Dei, just hand on, 'kay?" she called soothingly.

Rael waited near the bottom, having decided that leaving the firefly Mishap by hisself would be a very bad decision indeed. Once Aido had Dei he would retrieve them and they would get out of here.

On Rael's back Reid had yet to cease his attempts to wrestle away from Rael.

"Give him to me!" The tree bellowed and shot a vine towards Deimos.

Dei's tail flicked it away angryly as he began to climb the shadow. "Go way, tree!" He shouted.

"I know it's Erebus! Give him to me and we shall rid the world of the demon!" The tree said angryly..

The tree had offically crossed its boundaries as far as Aido was concerned. The young Shadow Mancer, "no! He's Deimos now, not Erebus," she practicly snarled, the expression of fierce anger foreign on the normally content Tale's face. Her halo was bright and glaring as she lunged forward, finally grabbing Deimos' hand as it finally neared and she pulled them both up and onto the branch.

"And even if he was Erebus I wouldn't let you hurt him," she snapped.

As Aido finally grasped Deimos' hand Rael launched himself at the tree again and Reid instantly stopped his barrage when he saw they were heading back for the other two.

The tree roared. "He will destroy you all!" He said as his vines receded and the tree feel silent once more..

Deimos clung to Aido as Rael coem for them. "Will we jump?" He asked shakily.

Aido didn't even glance back at the tree as it roared, only barely glancing to the side as the vines shot back to their original posistions. She was a bundle of anxious, protective nerves, lean muscles coiled and tense.

At Deimos' question she glanced down and shifted him to a better posistion, "it won't be far, just hang on to me," she said, voice amazingly calm and soothing considereding she was ready to strike at just about anything that moved towards them from within the depths of the tree.

Rael bounded off several branches before finally getting just under them. Aido quickly jumped and landed on her Companion who then turned tail and headed back down the tree.

Reid shifted, looking concerned but happy the two were back and held out Aeron to Deimos.

Deimos took Aeron and held him close, hanging his off his tail once more. "Thank.." He said, clinging to Aido still. He felt a bit safer now that he was on Rael. He shifted uncortably. He was not made for the air..

It was only moments before they were on the ground, which they hit at a run. Soon Rael had propelled them out away from the enormous, angry tree. Behind the two Mishaps Aido was standing straight, halo bright to illuminate anything that could be coming, though one hand had wormed its way onto Deimos' head and was soothing down his hair while the other was holding onto Rael.

-Are you alright?- Rael asked, the question was adressed to both Mishap and Tale.

Reid nodded leaning against Aido's arm and facing forward on Rael again, letting out a small yawn.

Dei felt them land and he immediatly felt much better. He felt so helpless in the air. He sighed and gripped onto Rael's shadows tightly as he answered. "I fine now. Foot hurt little, but me strong." He said determinedly. He was a lot tougher on the ground.

"Did it get cut?" Aido asked worriedly, glancing at Deimos before going back to scanning the area until Rael privately told her to stop being so paranoid as they were nearly out of the forest.

Deimos shook his head. "It just.. hurt.." He said softly, not wishing to press on upon his weakness. He put his ankle near Rael and the cool feeling of the shadows made it feel a bit better, but not too much.

"DEIMOS! DEIMOS!" Cries were heard outside the forest.

Aido gave him a gentle one armed hug and Rael sped up beneath them.

Reid tilted his head at the slightly frantic calls of the older Mishap's name.

Deimos winced slightly at the calls of his name and he seemed to noticably shrink.

Jizzy was pacing nervously in the garden, chanting softly. She'd panicked so much, she didn't know where Deimos was. She'd resorted to magic, I mean, she'd already used it once, she might as well get back into practice...

"Eleka nahmen nahmen Ah tum ah tum eleka nahmen.."

She chanted and soon a whisp of white apperead by her side, she whispered to ti and it sped off into the forest, hovering by Deimos as it located him.

"Your 'Mu?" Aido asked, peering curiously at the wisp while threw a glare at it over his shoulder.

-You're not supposed to be out on your own, are you Deimos?- Rael asked.

Reid smiled and waved to the wisp.

Deimos shrunk some more and nodded. "Mother not happy.." He said softly. This was not good..

Jizzy peered at the forest where the wisp had flown in, but not seeing anythign yet, simply bounced on her heels in impatience.

The bright white wisp fluttered about Deimos head before coming over to Reid and tingling slightly as a return to the wave.

Aido grimaced, sighed and Rael slowed as they exited the forest at a slow trot.

Reid smiled at the wisp and leant out, attempting to touch it. What would it feel like?

Jizzy saw the glow of the wisp and rushed to the forest. 'Deimos. Oh gods, Deimos you had me so worried? Oh, hello Aido, Reid." She said before roundign on Deimos once more. "How do you think I felt waking up and you aren't anywhere?"

The wisp was warm, nice and wamr. It tingled, almost of it was giggling.

"Hello Ms. Jizzy," Aido murmured, raking a hand self-consciously through her hair, unsure of what to do. Of course Jizzy was worried, Aemu was worried when she didn't know where she was after all....

The firefly boy smiled at the warmth and glowed gently in pleasure before looking to Jizzy, frowning and whimpering at the harshness of her tone.

The wisp zoomed up close to Reid's fac eand 'landed' on his nose. It made a soft jingling noise to soothe the small child.

"I'm sorry Mother.." He said meekly, not feeling brave at once confronted with his mother. He might have been a demon, but as the saying went, hell hath no fury like a mother scorned.

Jizzy sighed. "Promise you'll at least leave a note next time.." SHe said softly and Dei nodded fervently.

Reid sniffled but calmed down as Jizzy's tone shifted and the tiny wisp landed on his nose, as it jingled at him he tilted his head, as if trying to puzzel out what it'd said.

Aido smiled slightly, feeling a sense of deja vu. She'd had many conversations with her mother like this one.

Jabir approached the small group by the woods with a pacing furry. His neck was fully risen and his eyes were burning brightly with anger. He found very difficult to keep his temper while he spoke

"I don't enjoy to be awaken in the middle of the nigth, specially to be told someone had been wandering off in the woods without permission!!!" he turned his gaze to Deimos
"Yes, I'm aware of your little adventure with the tree elder. The others (trees) told me everything" he snarled at him, showing his fangs (something that happened everytime he was in a bad mood)

"I will be seeing you in my office first thing tomorrow. Please accompany him there Jizzy" his voice smothered a bit as he turned to her
"As for you Aido" he looked at the Tale "I expect you to be fully aware of the house's bondaries next time"

"Now if you don't mind I'll go back to my sleep... if there's any left after this mess" he grumbled and went back to the house, still swishing his tail angrily

Deimos shrunk back, so low it was shocking. He had been shouted at by both Mother and Jabir and he felt terrible.

"Come on, Dei.. Nice to see you AI, Reid.." She said and picking up the child from off Rael's back.. Deimos was in so much trouble...

The wisp was being ignored byy Jizzy and dove into Reid's hair, hiding and tingling slightly.

Reid grimaced at Jabir's harsh tone, shrinking back against Deimos for a moment as the elder Mishap shouted. Finally he clasped two hands over his hands over his ears as Jabir's tone turned cold in an attempt to keep the sounds away from his ears, barely aware of the wisp as it ducked into his short hair.

Aido grimaced and hung her head, cheeks pink with shame. She hadn't know but, what was the saying? Ignorance cannot serve as a sheild or something of a similar nature.

"Yes sir," she murmured finally, glancing back up to watch Jabir leave before nodding to Jizzy. "I'm sorry I didn't keep them out of the forest, it looks so like the one at home, I didn't know there were bounderies..." she sighed and shook her head, she'd be more careful next time, what would have happened if Deimos or Reid had been really hurt under her watch?

"We should head back home, bye Ms. Jizzy and Dei," she said, drawing the still curled up Reid closer to her as Rael began to trot towards the doors that led out of the area.

Jizzy's Journal -- October 2nd, 2005

Deimos snuck out, again, I presume. I don't think this is the first time he's been out without me knowing, but this is the first time he was caught. Though I have no clue what went on in the forest, by what Jabir sounded like, he caused some serious mayhem.

I had to conjure a wisp to find him.. I hadn't used magic on purpose for quite a while now, and I'll admit.. It felt good.. I think I'm going to get slowly back into the craft, nothing big or anything, just so my skills don't get rusty or bottled up like that. I may even.. I may even consider taking Deimos as a student, I'm sure he'd be eager to learn.

But for now, he needs to learn to tell me of things before anything else...

--Appointment with Jabir - October 3nd, 2005--
Participants: Deimos, Jizzy, Jabir, Maggie and Erebus.

Jizzy marched towards, where she believed was Jabir's office. She looked down at the dmeonic child holding on to her hand. He was switching between defiance and shyness. She sighed and knocked on the door.

Deimos was now in a moment of shyness, guilt in the pit of his stomach. He felt a punishment coming along, he knew it and it was not going to be pretty.

Just as soon as Jizzy knocked on the door a red haired woman opened it "Hello Jizzy, we've been expecting you. I'm Maggie, in case you don't remember" she smiled at her and turned her attention to the toddler "Hi Deimos! I've grown a lot since I last saw you"

"Please Maggie let them in. This is a matter of most importance, not a social meeting" Jabir replyed from behind his desk. His tone was calm and cold and his expression was a serious one
He pointed Jizzy and Deimos to a chair in front of him, while Maggie decided to stand by his side

Jizzy nodded a faint greeting to Maggie and Jabir as she nervously took a seat. She felt terribly guilty. She should have taken better care of Deimos. She shouldn't have let him out of her sight... She offered Deimos a seat by her on the chair, but he refused, simply standing next to the chair.

Deimos glared at Maggie slightly, but his huge death glare was focused towards Jabir and his cold tone. He remained silent for now, but his tounge was ready to let loose at the smallest trigger.

"So what do you have to say in your defense? Why did you bothered and insulted the elder tree Deimos". Jabir looked directly into the demon's eyes, not letting himself being impressed by the glare

Maggie stood silently as Jabir spoke and glanced at Jizzy. She somehow sympathized, for she too had faced similar troubles and anguishes

"Dumb tree hurt me first. I just walk along and BAM me trip, so I call tree stupid. Then I up in air upside down. He call me name too. He call me uh.. Erebus. I no knwo what Erebus is, but still!!" Deimos said rather loudly and rather quickly. The tree had attacked him, not the other way around.

Jizzy gave a soft sigh and let Deimos to handle it. SHe glanced at Maggie and smiled meekly at her. Being around all of the Mishaps, she must know what it's like..

((Just in case anyyone is wondering, Erebus is the name of the demon from which Deimos was created. He makes an brief apperance in an rp I havne't compiled yet XD))

"Oh is it?" Jabir smirked "From what they told me you were the one who wasn't paying attention and started to blaim the tree without a reason. Not a very smart move"

Maggie returned the smile and winked, but as soon as Deimos mentioned Erebus she froze "It called you what???"

If looks could kill the look Deimos gave Jabir just then would have killed him, revived him, tortured him, then killed him again. He turned to Maggie, hoping this lady would listen to him. "He call me Erebus. Say destroy demon. I no remember well."

Jabir didn't pay attention to Deimos furious look. He was far more interested in Maggie's reaction

"Oh my!" Maggie was baffled. She didn't expect that reaction from any tree.
After a short pondering she approached Deimos and kneled beside him, looking a bit worried "Erebus was the name of a demon that existed in this world not long ago . He's dead now but part of him lives in you. The elder recognized it and thinks you're him"

"You shouldn't have told him that. He's too young to understand" Jabir replyed "Plus how would that old bag of sap know anything about it?"

"He would have to know sooner or later. Might as well be now in the light of what as just happened" she snapped back, for she never liked when Jabir talked like that about the trees "And if you could remember what I had taught you trees have a community memory. If one knows, the others will too" her tone was as cold as Jabir's had been before

He grumbled but didn't replied, not with Jizzy and Deimos still present

Deimos blinked several times, he.. he didn't really understand. There was a demon living inside him. This Erebus was part of him.. He became silent in thought, trying to remember anything that could prove this, and then he remembered. "He talk to me.." He said to Maggie, tugging on her sleeve. Erebus had spoken to him twice, once before he'd almost drown in a river and another time at the picnic, in the forest.

"Why he talk to me if he dead?" Deimos asked Maggie. He needed to know.

Jizzy was, well, shocked, but at the same time rather unsurprised. She knew Deimos had demonic in him, if not fully demonic, but she'd never expected another precense in her baby boy..

"Only his old body is dead. His soul lives in yours, since you are his direct descendant... literally" Jabir answered in Maggie's place. Although the choice of words wasn't the best for a toddler to understand

"What he means is when his body died by the spell, the one you were born from, part of it got transformed and now lives in you. Instead of wanting to die too, his soul decided to live in the new body and share it with yours" This was only a theory but it was the one that made most sense
"Since it's not his original body he can't control you, but instead he gives you advice and keeps you safe and alive"

"Yeah, if you died he dies as well" Jabir added.

Deimos didn't need to understand everything they said to breath a sigh of relief. Erebus couldn't control him and that was all he needed to know, and to add a plus he would offer advice. Deimos so Erebus as his own consultant, and a full demon must know a lot.. "Thank for 'splainin.." He said to Maggie, purposely ignoring Jabir.

Jizzy nodded. "Yes, thank you.." She said softly. The news that Erebus could not control her boy came as a huge relief..

"You're quite welcome Deimos" MAggie replied with a smile

"Since we've got that settled then we still must discust the matter of your punishment Deimos. What you've done was very serious" Jabir remarked

Deimos turned viciously upon Jabir. His eyes flaring and his cloak bristling slightly. "Why I punished? Tree attack me!!" He shouted angryly.

"Bothering the tree elder isn't the reason you're being punished. It's for entering the woods knowing it's off limits, and abusing Aido's ignorance of our boundaries, taking her and Reid to a place known to be dangerous" Jabir's tone got colder and colder as he spoke

"He's right Deimos, it was very careless of you and you put the life of others in danger, not to mention yours. You were lucky it was the elder who caught you first and not something worse" Maggies expression was a sad one, as if she was disapointed for the toddler's actions

Deimos grumbled and turned to his mother. Upon seeing her nod he sighed. "So.. whats I gotta do?" He said grumpyly, crossing his arms in indignance.

Deimos was half relieved to be leaving the room. "He do anything to you, Mother, and I get himm.." He hissed to Jizzy as he walked by, loud enough for Jabit to hear.

Jizzy gulped slighly and allowed Deimos to be escorted from the room. She immediatly began apologizing.. "I'm sorry.. I sould have kept a closer eye on him.. I shouldhn't have let him wander off." She said, even though she had been both sick and asleep at the time of his escape..

"You wish" Jabir replied in a low voice. Then he turned his full attention to Jizzy

"It's not your fault, you don't need to be sorry" he said, trying to confort her "It's Deimos nature to be so independant and troublemaker" he smiled when he made that remark, but it imediatly faded when he continued "Unfortunatly it started to show much sooner than I predicted and it will become quite troublesome if we don't do something right now" he sighted as he spoke the next words
"He must learn his boundaries and to take responsability for his acts. And, in his case, the consequences must be grand and fearsome" he looked extremely sad at proposing this. Deimos would probably hate him for the rest of his life if it happened "Do you agree in doing this?"

"A word of advice Dei, don't pick a fight with Jabir. He can be quite dangerous if he snaps" Maggie said as both got into the infirmary
She pointed him to sit on the bed in the corner while she went to pick her the gear

"What kind of grand and fearsome are we talking about here?" She asked. She felt slightly guilty and a bit fearful for her child, but he needed to learn his boundaries.. She also didn;t want to agree to anything too terrible..

Deimos hopped onto the bed, his legs swining slightly. "Will Mother get in trouble?" He asked softly..

"Something I need your authorization before performing it" he opened one of the drawers and took a box from inside it "But first anwser me one thing" he opened it and a golden cross could be seen inside it "Is this what Deimos would fear the most?"

"No, but you probalby will" she sighed as she brought a first aid kit next to him. She took a stethoscope and started to listen to his heart beat

Jizzy's eyes widened. "Heck yes.. He flinches whenever someone says bless you!" Jizzy said, pushing back in her chair.. "He'd suffer if anyone even brought that thing near him.." She said.. she didn;t think she could do this. This was practically torture for Deimos..

"I just want see forest.. I like 'sploring.." He said, his legs swinging as he swivered slightly at the stethescopes metal..

"Being only part demon this wouldn't kill him but would cause him a quite large amount of pain. I'm planning on using a lesser one and keep this one as a reminder of a even worse punishment" he took another cross from the same drawer, this time a square one made of copper, and showed it to Jizzy
"Not being a real christian cross this won't cause him much pain unless he touches it directly, and even then it will only be a bearable amount. My plan is to use my skills and attatch it to his head for a week. Do you agree?"

"There are other places to explore besides the forest. You're too young to go there and even if you were older it would be dangerous. Only those who know their way around the forest and respect it can manage to find their way around it" Maggie shifted the stethescope to his lungs

Jizzy sighed.. She didn't know if this would work, but.. Then again she'd rather failed at parenting. "I.. suppose.. for a week?" She asked meekly...

Deimos took a deep breath. "But it seem like nice place, expept for bad tree.." He said.

"Or 5 days if you like. This is just a first warning though, he must know a worst fate will await him if he tries something like that again" Jabir looked at her with a sad expression "It's for the best..."

"Oh believe me, that tree is quite nice compared to other things" she was now checking his cloak wings, removing bits of bark and leafs "Things aren't always what they seem..."
"Dei, would you mind if I sew your cloak? To prevent getting it more torn"

"Five..five days sunds about right.." She said, her tone almsot depressingly sad. She didn't want it to come to this.. She'd though she'd be able to teach Deimos without actually ahving to punish him, but that was not an option anymore..

"I no scared of needles.." He said defiantly, as if trying to show of his bravery. "I no scared of tree either, or any other thing in forest.."

"It will turn out all right, you'll see. Maggie had to do the same with me" he winked

"That's a stupid way to act Dei" she remarked as she started to sew her cloak "Fear leaves you more alert and ready for action. I'm not saying you should be permenatnly afraid, just don't act so cocky all the time" she pretend to look around, as she was about to tell him a secret, and whispered in his hear "Then you'll be the greatest of pirates"

"If you think he's suffering to much just take im directly to the infirmary and I'll take care of it. That's something only I can undo" Jabir reassured her
"But I don't believe there will be a reason for that though. It will cause him some pain yes, much like a bee sting or a sunburn if he goes there with his hands, but like those it will remind him there are some rules he shouldn't ignore nor break" he's expression turned gloomier "But if he does break them again I won't have a choice but to be really harsh with him next time"

"Just careful will do. That way you won't be caught on surprise and you'll be harder to defeat" she said as she finished sewing his cloak
"Good as new. Now is there anything hurting or bothering you. No proper pirate can be careless about his health" she giggled

Jizzy slunk down in the chair and sighed. "Wel.. lets.. lets get it over with.." She said softly and stood. She hoped Deimos would take this well, and actually learn from the experience.

Deimos nodded and pointed to his ankle. "Tree grab me there." He explained. "It hurt bit when I walk.."

"I agree" Jabir got up from his chair and went to the door "I'll go call them"

Maggie gave a closer look "Well it doesn't look serious. I'll just put a ointment and wrap it up. If the pain doesn't wear off by tomorrow just come to the infirmary again". She went to pick a bottle an some bandages and was applying it on Deimos' ankle when Jabir came in

"The decision is taken. Can you please bring him to the office once you finish there?"

"It'll only take a minute, we'll be right there"

"Alright" he proceded back to the office. "They'll be here in a minute. Maggie just finishing taking care of Deimos ankle" he said to Jizzy as he entered

Jizzy heaved a deep sigh. She hoped she was doing the right thing, but with this whole parenting business, she could never be too sure.

Deimos kept his face taut, despite the slight stinging sensation he received when Maggie bandaged him up. His eyes betrayed his face though.. "Will I be.. uh.." What was that word. He'd read some books of Jizzy's before when they'd used that word instead of punishment, and he'd admit, he liked this word better. "torture me?" He said, thinking it was the same as punishing him.

"I don't know, I've been with you all the time remember?" she said as she gave a little knot to the bandages "But what you've done was serious so the punishment will be a hard one" she sighed
"Well no point in guessing, lets go back to the office ok?"

Deimos nodded and leapt of the bed, his ankle twinged slightly, but it was not enough to stop him. "A'ight.." He said and walke dback towards to office, as if his foot was entirely fine.

Jabir was sitting behind his desk again when Deimos entered. The 2 crosses were in front of him. He waited until Maggie had taken her place beside the table before proceding
"Well Deimos we've come to the decision of forcing you to wear a square cross for 5 days" he lifted the copper cross as he spoke "You won't be able to remove it without my aid. Everytime you try it will only make it worse so don't" he took a breath before carrying on
"Do you have anything to say before we proceed?"

Jabir's eyes were like slits when Deimos agreed. It seemed suspicious to take so little time to accept it, or even to do so. But he didn't say a word about it and just steped foward, helding the small cross

"Come foward then and close your eyes. This might sting a bit". Then he turned to Jizzy "Better hold him by the shoulders. The less he moves the better"

Jizzy did so, holding the small child gently by his shoulder, just her grip could be like iron if she needed it to be.

'Just relax. The less you touch the thing, the better. Just take it. You aren't strong enough for head on battle. Strategy is the key, kid. You rush blindly into things and you get both of us killed...'

Deimos had to really control himself not to step back or to fight or to flail, but he cloesed his eyes and listened intently to Erebus' voice relaying advice and instructions to him.

Jabir kneeled in front of Deimos and positioned the cross just a few inches from his face, calculating the exact point
Then he suddently pressed it agaisnt the demon's forehead as he made use of his skill at the same time. As the cross entered deeper and deeper in the skin, tiny sparks of fire could be seen
Jabir removed his hand and he could see the cross had merged neatly, as if it had always been part of the forehead. Only the edges were still a bit red

Deimos gave out an unearthly cry and in his head he could hear the demon wincing slightly as well. Deimos panted and sighed as the pain receded slightly and he felt his mother's arms wrapped tightly around him..

"Can we go now?" Jizzy said as she held Deimos tight, her tone shockingly cold towards Jabir, even though she hadn't intended it to be.

"Just one more thing before you go" Jabir got up and grabed the other cross
"Remember this is just a first warning Deimos. You're young and still have a lot to learn, but do something like this again and you will force me to use a far more worse punishment" he showed the golden cross "Don't you ever forget"

Maggie approached Jizzy and put a small bottle in her hands "Use this to make that swelling better. It should be gone in a matter of hours"

"Thank you, Maggie.." She said, in a much kinder voice. "Lets go, Dei." She said and stoof, taking Deimos hand..

Deimos winced loudly at the sight of the golden cross and hid himself from it by placing his mother in between the two. He'd get back at Jabir.. Right before his mother left the room, He truned around to face Jabir, stck out his tounge and placed a finger under his eye. It was his way of flicking Jabir off.

Maggie closed the door as they left "I think you've overdone it. The poor boy will surely have a scar thanks to you"

"It was either that or let it touch his brain" he snapped back "Plus I don't know where that fire come from" he just left himself fall on the chair, exhausted

"Do you think...?" she looked at him, surprised

"Probably... it won't take much longer before he starts exploring it" he replied
"Well I must get some sleep. Do you mind to...?"

"No, not at all... as long as you make up to him" she gave him a cunning look

"Alright, alright I promisse" he said as he proceded to the door. A few seconds later he went to his room, while Maggie stayed in the office, putting things back to place

--Aftermath -- October 3rd, 2005--

Deimos was in an abysmal mood.. I mean, the kinda mood where tyrants start executing innocents, killing babies and otherwise torturing the heck out of people. Yah, one of those moods. Luckily for any innocents/babies/people, he was very occupied munching and licking away at his blood popsicle as Tom and Jerry flitted across the small TV screen before him. He was taking mental notes at their antics, which way was better to get back at Jabir, frying pan, or ironing board.. Fortunately to Jabir, aside from the fact he was quite a bit taller than Deimos, is that the demonic toddler did not know where to find either item, so he'd have to come up wit something else. It had to be good, embarrassing, but not painful.. Painful would get him in trouble again, embarrassing he might get scolded, but no more.. Erebus had told him that, but the demon had become silent again.. He seemed to only break through when Deimos was distressed, and currently he was feeling nothing but of rage..

Jizzy sighed as she was sprawled on the bed. Had this really been the right thing to do.. She honestly hoped so because now that Jabir had attached the cross to Deimos, there was nothing to do but deal with it until the five days were up. She'd given him a bloody ice lolly upon arrival to comfort him and she was thinking what she could do to make it up to the child..

"Hey.. Dei.."

"Ya, Mother.." He said, turning from the TV to look at his mother.

"I'll make a deal with you.. If you're good these next 5 days, I'll give you a prize.."

Deimos' eyes lit up at the prospect of a prize. "Alright, I be good. I be good." He said, taking a long lick of his popsicle. If this ice lolly was given to him right there, he couldn't think what Mother would give him if he was good these next few days.

--I lost out to a doll?--

Participants- Jizzy, Deimos, Catherin, Aphrodite and Bax

Deimos was, well, he wasn't doing well at all. The cross that was currently embedded into his forehead was a constant bother to him, like a bug bite. It wasn't painful, not unless he brought his hands up and touched it, but it was a constant annoyance, making his body feel dirty, tainted and otherwise very icky..

He was bent over a book titled "A Klutz Guide to Magic", amatuer stuff, stuff he never planned to use, but it was the only book Jizzy would give to him outright. The rest he'd have to sneak a read from.

Jizzy was also bent intently over a large pile of books and notes. It had been years since she had done magic and now that she was getting back into the habit, she wanted to be all read up and unrusty.

Catherine took a deep breath, Aphrodite wasn't inside her bubble of protection, so she was a bit nervous, but the tiny babe was sitting comfortably on Catherine's shoulder. In her hands she held a large basket, smiling she took another deep breath as she brought her hand up to knock on the door.

Aphrodite seemed content, not giddy or silly. Just content, she had just taken a nap and watched some cartoons.

The knock broke both Deimos and Jizzy from their book induced trances and Jizzy went up to the door, sighing. How she hoped it wasn't Jabir. Upon opening it and spotted Catherine, her face broke into a faint smile and she let out a sigh as if she had been holding her breath. "Catherine.. Nice to see you.."

Deimos had been about to dive back when he heard the name Catherine. His mind made a slow mental link and he broke into a very small smile. This meant Smalls was here. He stood clumsily and rushed to the door, looking up to see if he could spot the miniscule mishap.

The tiny mishap was sucking her thumb as she sat on her mother's shoulder, blinking at the sudden noise her mother made. She wondered what could have possessed her mother to do that, but as soon as Jizzy opened the door she realized it was some sercret bigums talk for 'door open'. Her pale yellow eyes looked about, and then she spotted the bounding Deimos and flailed happily. "Daaaaaaaay! Daaaay!" She squeeled as she flew off her mother's shoulder and into Deimos's chest.

Catherine let out a relieved smile. "It seems Aphrodite missed Deimos." She laughed a bit. "Could we come in? ... Or are we intruding?"

"No not at all. Come in.." She said, moving out from the doorway. "You'll have to pardon the mess though.." She said, chuckling sheepishly at the many books and paper strewn on the bed and table.

Deimos placed his hands under Aphrodite and caught her in his cupped hands. "Hey, Smalls.." He said softly, as if he had to speak accoriding to her size. He ws suddenly very conscious of the cross on his forehead and he shook his head, trying to get his hair to shield it, and failing rather miserably.

Catherine smiled at Jizzy, holding the large basket in her hands. "Messes are alright, I can tell this is a busy mess." she said as she walked into the room. "Are you still sick Jizzy?" she asked, her tone concerned.

Aphordite nuzzled happily, she was so happy to see Diemos again, last she saw himm was at the picnic. Since then her and her mother had been busy, well her mother had been busy and she watched. Looking up at Deimos she gave him a large smile. "Day!"

"Not much, no.. I still get the sniffles if I'm in too cold a palce, but nothing to major.." She said, moving to the table and picking up the many notes and dropping them onto the bed. She heaved the books off the chairs and placed them near the bed and sighed. "TA DA!" She said, showing of the now clear table.

Deimos allowed the small mishap to nuzzle hid hand and he was very glad noone had pointed out the..the.. the thing on his forehead yet. He began walking back to his book, keeping his hands cupped to hold Aphrodite. "So, how is Smalls? You still no talk, right?" He said, his tone dropping slightly at the last statement.

Aphrodite blinked at him, she understood him, far better than she did the last time she saw him. It was just like with her mother, the words they spoke started to make.. sense, it was a very nice revalation. "Shmaa... " She mimicked, she knew he was talking about her, so she smiled wider. She then had the sudden urge to show him what toy she got a few days ago and the package that had arrived. "AH! AH! AH!" She flailed between Diemos's fingers.

Catherine grinned at her a bit, laughing a bit at the clean table. "Well I'm happy to hear you're feeling better, I still made that potion I promised, just took a bit longer since I had to go shopping for all my supplie again." She said as she placed the basket on the table. Blinking she heard Aphrodite, sighing. "Sweetie do you want you Al?"

"AH! DAY!"

Catherine blinked for a second...it hit her! Smiling she first pulled out a small grey doll, far larger than Aphrodite, but in comparison to Catherine you got the idea. After that she pulled out a gift box wrapped in the neatest of paper:

Smiling, she looked at Diemos. "It's for you. Aphrodite picked it out for you... when we went to the store there wasn't anymore and she threw such a fit... So I ordered it especially for you from her."

Deimos placed Aphrodite softly onto the ground so he could take the box from Catherine. "Thank." He said meekly after receiving a prompting glance from his mother. He kneeled down immediatly after and opened the package ravenously. He gazed at the small doll in his hands witha broad smile. The general demonic apperance of the doll made him feel much better and he had the supressed urge to give Aphrodite a very large hug. "Di very nice.." He said as he sat b her, carrying the doll in his arms.

Jizzy smiled. "Thank you.. I'll take the potion anyways.. One can never be to careful." She said, pullinga chair out so Catherine could sit and rushing t the wardrobe. As soon as she opened the large wardrobe, books came crashing down to her and she was promply burried over a heap of spell books and paper... "ow.."

Catherine gasped, her hands covering her mouth. "Jizzy! Are you alright?!" She rushed from where she stood.

Aphrodite smiled at Deimos, she was glad he liked the present. "Day ly pres't?" she looked at him shyly.

Deimos was almost too distracted by the doll to notice Aphrodite had actually said a whole sentence.. Almost. His eyes ahd widened slighly and he looked over to her. "Yes, I like lot.." He asaid answering her question.

"I..I'll be fine!" He muffled voice said from beneath the pile. There was a deep sigh and the book slowly began to hover upwards until Jizzy was able to crawl out from under them. As soon as she was out, the book fell with a lunk back down.. "I need to get these organized..." She said softly, sighing.

Too distracted by the talking pile of mess, Catherine missed Aphrodite's first sentence. Sighing a bit, she smiled at Jizzy. "Well.. I'm really good at cleaning and organzing..." She laughed a bit. " I just recently was hired as a secretary to an adoption agency in Barton." She smiled a bit. "Boy is Salem a mess." she grinned a bit. "If you want I can help you clean the room while the kid's play... I trust Deimos with Aphrodite, he seems to know how to act around her."

Aphrodite smiled sweetly, she was even more happier, but... she still wanted her Alphonse. "Ah!" She pointed to the table, a gray leg stuck out over the edge. "Di wah Ah!" She started to sniffle.

"Would it be terrible of me if I accepted your help? I've never been one to great with order.." Jizzy said sheepishly as she stood, dusting herself off meekly.

Deimos looked at Aphrodite oddly, not sure what she wanted until she pointed to the table and as he saw the leg he knew. He eached up to the table and his hand felt the grey leg. He gripped and brought it down, laying the doll next to her. "This what Smalls wants?"

" EE! " Aphrodite squeeled, her sniffles faded from sight. She pounced the large doll, nuzzling it happily, afterwards she looked at him with a grin. To her it didn't seem to matter whether he had a cross on his head or not. "Di ly Day. Day ny." She crawled to his hand, cuddling.

" No it wouldn't be horrible of you, I'd be glad to help out a friend." She started to pick up a few of the books from off the floor, placing them on the table.

Deimos nodded meekly, feeling rather proud that he had made her smile.. "I like ya too, Smalls.." He said softly as she nuzzled his hand. He had forgotten all about the cross, just like with a bug bite, the less you think about it the less it bothers you.

"Thanks.. I kind of forgot I had this many books.." Jizzy began to pick up spellbook, after spellbook as well. Many of the books were not even in English. Some were in Latin, French, even Spanish and the odd one in Japanese or Chinese. She had stored all of them with a spell when she'd given up magic and now that she unlocked the spell, she relaized she had just too many books for too little space.

" I can understand the feeling of the lack of space," She laughed a bit. " My old apartment was so small... " She shook her head. " I have a book shelf I have no place for.. do yu think you have the room? It's very tall."

Aphrodite crawled her from Deimos's hand and back to her Alphonse doll. "Ah!" She pointed towards the doll. "Day!" She then pointed to Deimos. "Day!" She pointed towards Deimos again. "Ah!" Once more she directed her hand towards the doll... she was introducing them to eachother. "Di ly Ah, Ah ha brud'er nay Eh." She smiled up at Deimos.

Jizzy nodded fervently. "I could put it up against that wall there." She said, pointing to the wall next to the bed. She desperately needed a bookshelf.

Deimos looked at Alphnose and huffed a faint hello. "Dei better than Ah." He said faintly, indignatly. Was he being outdone by a doll?

Catherine nodded a bit, her hand on her chin. "I'll be right back with it." She said with a smile. "Could you watch Aphrodite?"

Aphrodite blinked at him a bit, taking a moment to process the words. "Day bet'ers?" She seemed a bit confused. Al did loads of things on Toonies, at least on the Disc thingies her mom let her watch before her nap.

"I'll keep an eye on her. Thanks again." Jizzy said gratefully, picked up a few more spellbooks from the floor, then sat ina chair lending a watchful eye towards the two kids.

Deimos gave a faint sigh. "Dei is better than Ah. I cooler.." He tried to explain, pointing to himself and the doll in turn. He WAS arguing with a doll.. Sad, wasn't it.

Catherine nodded. "Alright, if she gets fussy, or hungry most of everything you need is in the baskets. There's a lunch in there as well as some snacks." She said as she walked over toward Aphrodite, kneeling by her and lifting her off the ground for a moment, to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Aphrodite, Mama's gonna go for a bit, Aunt Jizzy's gonna watch you while I'm gone."

She hugged her mother's face, blinking up at her and then waved smiling at her sweetly. "Bai bai Mama."

Catherine gasped, covering little Aphrodite in kisses. "You're first sentance!" She smiled happily, putting her back down on her Al doll. "I'm so proud of you baby! When I come back I'll also have some chocolate strawberries with your name on them!" She grinned. "I'll be back I promise!" And with that she happily left.

Aphrodite giggled, leaning back and then tumbling off her al plushie and near Diemos's hand again.

Jizzy beamed down at Phrodite as she heard her speak. Deimos hadn't actually spoken much other than names until he became a toddler, but then again Dei had grown fast.

Deimos' eyebrow wings perked up at there mention of the chocolate and his eyes glimered. "Dei have chocolate too, yes?' He asked Aphrodite, placing his hand by her so she could lean or sit on it as she pleased.

Aphrodite nodded at him. Oh boy! Chocolate! She wiggled with pure delight, flying up and then pouncing the side of Dei's head. She then crawled up, sititng on his head, waving at Jizzy from her high high perch. Then from deep within her tiny body a small rumbling could be heard, she frowned and then began to cry. The princess was hungry.

Jizzy'sarched a brow at Aphrodite's sudden tears. "What's wrong, Aphrofdite?" She asked kneeling down.

Deimos' eyes widened and he raised his hand, scooping the tiny mishap into them. "No cry, Smalls. No cry.." He said, brushing her hair with one finger. He felt, guilt... It was the cross, he knew it. She'd seen it when she was on his head and that had made her cry.

She wriggled, bringign her hands to her eyes, covering her face as tiny tears streamed downher face. "Di.. hungee!" She cried, calming as Deimos brushed her hair. It made her feel better, but that didn't get rid of the rumbly in her tumbly.

Jizzy didn't exactly know what to feed the tiny mishap, but as she had heard Catherine speak of chocolate, maybe a little chocolate may satisfy her hinger for a while. So Jizzy stood and began to dig in her bag, looking for some of the baby food she used to feed Deimos and lucky one uponpeed jar of chcolate mush was there hidden in the bottom. She cracked it open and kneled by Di. "Is this what Di eats?"

Chocolate? Was that what she smelled? She turned her tiny head to see, immeadiately dipping her tiny hand into the mush and bringing some to her mouth, suckling happily. With her free clean hand, she clung to Deimos's thumb. Her tiny tears had subsided, she quietly licked off the choclate on her hand.

Deimos smiled as he watched Aphrodite relish the chocolate. "Smalls eat, so Smalls no hungy no more." He said wiggling his thumb so it tickled her slightly.

She grabbed more with her chocolate covered hand, suckling happily. It didn't take long for the tiny babe to be full and she nuzzling into his hand, making a tiny mess. "Shma fuh, Di fuh!" She squeeled, boy that rush of chocolate and sugar made her so hapy she zoomed up and flew around Deimos's head.

Deimos watched her fly around him, and around and around and.. woah.. he was getting dizzy. He held his head as if to stop the room front spinning but made the grave mistake of forgetting the cross on his forehead. He winced loudly as his hand felt like it was burning up.

Aphrodite stopped hr buzzing and spinning gasping and crying. "No! No booboo Day!" She cried, flying to his shoulder clinging, distressed she turned to Jizzy. Mama's always make it better.. right?

Jizzy was Deimos' side ina s econd, checking his hand for any trace of the cross. When none was found she gave him a big hug.. "DOn't worry.. Just a few more days.. You're doing great so far.."

Deimos tried to even out his breath, though both his hand and forehead still felt very hot. "No worry, Smalls.. I be fine." He said, he couldn't wait until this thing came off.

Aphrodite still seemed a bit distressed, she didn't like it when people were hurting and if Deimos was hurt ( a biggum! ) then it must hurt alot. "Day..kay?" She still clung to his shoulder.

A knocking could be heard from the door to the room, I wonder who could it be?

The cross still twinged but Deimos managed a straight face as he looked at APhrodite.. "I alright.. I be fine.." He said, trying to reassure the small mishap, he didn;t need anyone worrying about him..

Jizzy's head lifted as she heard a knock on the door and moved from her kneeeling postion to go open it.. It was possibly Catherine, back with the strawberries..

Oh she was back alright! She had her animated carpet bag with her and a box in her hands. Her bag bounded into the room jumping up happily at Deimos, the end that was towards the floor was wagging much like a dog's tail would. "I guess he's happy to see you. " She laughed a bit as she came in. "Did you have any trouble?" As she walked into the room she settled the box on the table. "I brought the tall bookshelf, but I had to shrink it down to size... it was so..big!" she flailed her arms in her explanation.

Aphrodite blinked giggling at her mother's bag. "BAH! " she waved, apparantly ever since their first meeting Shavi left an impression on her. "Mama! Mama!" she waved. "Day boo!" She pointed at his face as though maybe her mother could make it go away, boy was she stubborn.
"What's wrong.. I'm confused."

"That's the impression we all get when we enter the mid point of any conversation." The sleek black cat made his way through the open door frame. "Hello... it seems the princess can say more then no, what a relief." he spoke dryly.

Deimos looked up and sighed. "Smalls see cross.." He pointed to it as if that alone explained everything.

Jizzy smiled. "I had no trouble at all. Aphrodite's a dear, worried about Deimos and the cross.. Its his punishment, since he went into the forest. " Her tone lowered slightly as she said it.

Catherine blinked a bit, processing the new information. "Well that's worst than a spanking." she grumbled quietly, remembering her parent's form of disciplination, the memory made her idly rub her own backside as she made a face.

Baxterfullous looked up at Catherine and then at Jizzy. "How do you do? ... I'm Baxterfullous Von Montegue." He gave her a nod as then proceeded over to Deimos and Aphrodite, he purred as he tried to see what was the cause of the fuss.

Catherine sighed as she crouched so she was eye level with Deimos. "Don't worry about it Dei, it'll be over soon. I've got a good feeling about it." She smiled and then reached over for her carpet bag pulling out a tupper ware filled with chocolate covered strawberries. "Here you two go, just like I promised."

Aphrodite blinked a bit, her concerns fluttered away as the smells of chocolates and strawberries filled her tiny nose. "Yay! Day boo go bai! Strah buur!" she flailed as though to tell him chocolate makes everything better.

Catherine placed the tupperware where they sat as she stood up to talk to Jizzy. "He'll be ok, he's tough!" She grinnedsaying it in a way so to emphasize, and hopefully boost Deimos's spirits. "... now about that book shelf.. where did you want it?"

Jizzy blinked for a moment as the cat spoke to her, beofre she reminded herself she lived in Gaia now. Besides, she'd seen much odder things than a talking cat. "Pleasure to meet you... People call me Jizzy.." She said, nodding her head in greeting before standing and turnign to Catherine. "The bookshelf would be rwonderful right there.." She said, poinitn to a bare wall by her bed. Her eyes began to scan around, looking for said bookshelf.

Deimos was almost entirely distracted from the chocolate by Bax's words. "The cat talk?" He asked incredulously. Cats didn't talk. Mother had a cat once, he didn't talk.

Baxterfullous look up at Deimos with his cobalt blue eyes, his expression was cold. "... Yes, I can talk." It had been a long time since someone pointed out such a revalation. His brow furrowed as he swished his tail, utnring towards the door. "... bad enough that my no good great nephew's has found me again.." He grumbled below a whisper as he made his way out of the room and into the hallway.

Catherine sighed. "Forgive Bax.. he's not a people..cat." She gave Jizzy a sheepish smile. "He's a few hundred years old infact, cursed by an evil witch." She said as she opened the box she brought with her, pulling out a tiny bookshelf about the size of Aphrodite. " ... it was while protecting my great great great grandmother... she died and he was left cursed in the body of a cat. " She made her way over towards where Jizzy pointed with the tiny book shelf in hand. ".. so he made a vow to my great great grandmother, saying that he would watch over my family until our bloodline ended." she placed the book shel directy in the middle of the space, taking a step back. "Engorgio." The book shelf sprang to it normal height fitting in the space perfectly. ".. and so that's why I have a talking cat." She turned to the book placing the few that were on the desk in the empty shelves.

Aphrodite blinked, she was no longer in Deimos's hand but now on the floor, trying with all her migh tto open the tupperware. "STRAAAHH!" She strained, her little fist banging on the plastic top.

Deimos watched as Baxterfullous left the room and huffed. What a fussy cat. He heard Aphrodite's indignant cries and chuckled at her suffering for while, before letting some pity eneter his little black heart and he lowered his hand, opening the tupperware with ease. He then treated himself, in all his success, to a chocolate strawberry. "See.. esy, Smalls."

Jizzy nodded atn this story, it was vastly interesting though she pittied poor Bax. He's probably been around almost as long as she had. "How long ago did this happen to him?" She asked, out of curiousity..

When the bookshelf was pulled out though, her attention shifted and she smiled broadly as it expended into its space. "Oh thnaks again.." She said and stood, picking up a few books in her arms to go take to the bookcase.

Aphrodite dove into the tupperware, guming at the largest and most juicest strawberry. "STRAH!" She squeed happily, filled with pure chocolate filled joy.

Taken back for moment by Aphrodite's struggle and then triumpth. She couldn't help but laugh a little. "Boy, she's going to need a bath..." Calming herself she continued to help Jizzy with the rest of the books. "... Well.. Bax has been that way for as long as I've known... and for as long as my mother's known him and so on." She sighed, now it was understandable why she put up with Baxterfullous's bitterness and overall grumpiness.

With all the strength in her little arms she penetrated the strawberry munching happily, covered from nearly head to toe in chocolate and strawberry. Boy was she a messy eater.

Nearly done with placing all the scattered books into the bookshelf, Catherine caught with the corner of her eye her messy little mishap. "Aphrodite!" she sighed. "I think we're going to have to leave, Aphrodite decided to become a chocolate covered mishap" She sighed, putting the books she had in her hands on the shelf. Moving to the table she opened her basket and pulled out a bottled of vibrant blue liquid, corked and all. "This is the potion I made for you, it'll help with colds.. and most other flu like sickness." She said as she puled the rest of her things away leaving the tupperware of strawberries for Deimos. She laughed a bit as she picked up aphrodite who clung to the strawberry with dear life.

"STRAAAAAAAAAAH-BURRREEE!" She squeeled munching in her mother's hand.

Smiling she also picked up Alphonse, placing him inside the basket. " Bye, it was nice seeing you two again, I hope we can do this again.. and I hope you enjoy the book shelf." She smiled as she picked up the basket with her free hand. "Say Bai bai Aphrodite" She cooed to her little mishap.

"aff-di-eee go bai bai" she waved to deimos and jizzy. " Bai bai Dei and Ji ji"

And with that Catherine pushed the door open with her posterier and left.

--In which UJizzy is both very kind and very stupid--

Participants- Jizzy, Deimos, Rabid and Malachi

Rabid was sitting on the edge of the fountain, reading some obscure horror novel for the sixth time. She crossed and uncrossed her legs nervously as the main character entered the basement.

The calm up on the fourth floor was quite comforting. Nothing much was going on at all. She wished for some company, though, as the silence was mildly frightening under these circumstances.

Malachi sat in his stroller nearby, not strapped in, but not moving either. He stared at the water flowing inside the fountain, completely mezmerized by it. He rubbed his eyes against the reflection of the lights and gurgled. Crazy Hair Lady had brought him up to the fourth floor over an hour ago, and he was beginning to get restless. Where was everyone?!

"Baaaaah..." he murmured, continuing to watch the water.

"Hurry Mother, Hurry!"
"I'm going as fast as I can!"
"We get top floor. We go 'splring!"

Deimos surfaced at the edge of the stais and rushed to look around the garden. He went here and there, and everywhere and it took him a few minutes to notice that Malachi and Rabid were even there. He recognized Rabid though and waved a meek hello, before leaning over the fountain to look at his reflection.. He'd forgotten all about the cross embedded on his forehead, but as he saw it he cringed and slapped the water angryly, as if hoping that would make it go away.

Jizzy huffed herself up the last few stair and almost floped down on the spot.. "Hello *pant* Rabid.." She wasn't made for this kind of climbing.

"Hello, Deimos," Rabid said when the plashing of water broke her concentration, "Hey, Jizzy. You alright?"

She laughed slightly and dog-eared her page. She hadn't seen either the Mishap or his Guardian in quite some time...or at least it felt like it.

"BAH!" Malachi yelped when his view of the water was marred. Looking up, though, he noticed a funny yellow boy. The boy was bigger than himself but, then again, so was Lenore.

He gave a fanged grin and waved to Deimos.

Jizzy waved at Rabid, still trying to catch her breath. She plopped down on the bench next to Rabid. "This palce *gasp* need an elevator.." She said jokingly, though her heavy breathing betrayed her tone.

Deimos looked up at the noise and at first he was.. well. rather shocked. The boy before him was much to white, it was unerving, but the fangs and the eyes. They calmed Deimos and caused him to stride over to the furry child. "Hello.. What you name?" He asked, brnging his hand up to try to tassle his hair up so it hid the cross.

"They really do," Rabid agreed, smiling, regardless of the fact that Jizzy could've been joking, "I got lucky. I'm just a floor below. Look on the bright side, though...you will never have to buy a stair master."

She looked over at Deimos and Malachi, then turned back to Jizzy.

"What's with the...err...forehead." She purposefully avoided using the word "cross".

"Aieeeeee..." Malachi struggled to say his own name. He'd been called it enough times by Crazy Hair Lady...but it was so hard!

"Aieee...ai.....Ike..."

Ah! Finally! He grinned and squealed happily.

Rabid's head snapped quickly toward Malachi.

"Finally!" she laughed, "Lenore calls him Bah, yanno..."

Jizzy's face fell at the mention of the cross. "He went into the forest, Jabir caught him.. He has to wear it for 5 days as punishment.." She explained in a whisper.

Deimos nodded. "I Dei. I friend of Len too." He said with a nod. "I give her present. Blood. She wear here." He explained, pointing to around his neck as he explained. Anyone who knew Lenore couldn't be bad.

"Oh..." Rabid whispered back, "5 days, huh? I can't even begin to imagine what kind of trouble Squirrelboy there is going to get into." She was quitte nervous, in fact. Once he could walk, who's to say where he would go?

"Len," Malachi smiled and wriggled, falling out of his stroller and onto his rump. He laughed maniacally, and then crawled to the edge of the fountain, pulling himself up. Yellow boy...waitwait...Deimos seemed quite likeable as of yet. Malachi giggled again at the word "blood". That was the red stuff, right?

"Jabir is rather strict, so.. I'd be careful. Dei has been taking it very well, but I don't expect he's very please.." She said with a sigh.

Deimos looked down into the fountain as Ike did, but avoided looking at his reflection. "Ike like blood?" He asked and before the child could answer he went to his mother, adn the bag at her side. He rummaged and pulled out a wrapped blood lollipop. He snuck back quietly and unwraped it by Malachi. "Good stuff.." He said, taking a small lick before holding it out to the small red eyed squirell.

"I'd expect not," Rabid frowned, then asked, "Aside from that, how've you been lately?" She made a mental note to get on Jabir's good side early on.

Malachi immediately went completely silent and stared at the lolly. Everything went sharper again, and he inhaled deeply. He reached out for a moment before snatching the lolly and taking a chunk out of it. The crazy-haired lady didn't give him the red stuff enough, he thought. He was beginning to like Deimos just that much more.

Then, realizing again that the boy had been nice enough to share his red stuff, he grinned and held the bisected lolly back out to him. Everything faded back to normal again and he gave a low gurgle.

"Good enough.. Getting back into my practice after a few years, so I had to dig out all my old book. Finally got over my flu, so that's a plus.." She said with a smile creeping onto her face.

Deimos' eyes had narrowed slighly as Ike seemed rather content with his lolly, but upon it's return he smiled and took a large bite, as Ike had. "Ike have good taste.." He said, licking the lolly and handing it once more to Ike.

"Congrats," Rabid laughed, 'Wouldn't want you fainting again." She winked and stuck her tongue out at Jizzy. She had just remembered the whole fainting incident at the picnic.

Ike smiled and took the lolly back. Everything became sharper again for a moment before he handed the nearly-gone candy back to Deimos. It was only right to give the nice boy the last bite.

"Duh," he struggled to say Deimos's name, "Deee....bah." He gave up fairly quickly. He didn't like "s"s.

Jizzy chuckled and stuck her tounge out as well in response. "That was a one time thing. Not my fault, right." She said in mock indignance.

"Dei.. " He said correcting Ike and taking the final bit eout of the lolly, licking his lips clean as he did. "My name Dei" He explained. He didn;t sound agrravated, not offended, he jsut wanted Ike to get it right.

"I sure hope so," Rabid smiled and then looked toward the children, "What's that?" She pointed to the marred stick Deimos held in his hand.

"Deeeeeeugh," Malachi scowled, "Deeeeeh-ee. Deh-ee!" He squealed again. Finally, he was beginning to say things! Soon enough, he thought, he'd be talking a blue streak, just like Dei.

Jizzy looked over as well and as she spotted the stick, she looked in her bag then at the stcik again. "It's whats left of a blood lollipop I brought for Dei.." She said with a chuckle.

Deimos sighed. "Close 'nough.. But you better get it right when you big." He said to the child spotted a wastebasket not to far and throwing the stick into it.

"Oh..." Rabid's face flushed, "Ten fingers each. Alright. No harm done." She sighed with relief. Malachi could be horribly dangerous with blood, or at least ferocious. She hadnt had much of a chance to test him.

Malachi nodded resolutely, "Bah." He opened his mouth and pointed to his teeth, attempting to show Dei why he couldn't talk right. He made a "thhh" sound, his version of an s.

"Deimos gets his treats from time to time.. Blood and Chocolate are his favorites.." She said, smiling and adjusting her positon on the bench so she could sort of slouch/lie down.

Deimos saw his fangs and opened his own mouth, pointing at his own, much smaller and duller fangs. "I have fang too. You just have to learn." He siad nodding.

"I have to be careful with Ike," Rabid kicked her feet, hitting the ground each time, "You should have seen him his first time. Creepy as all get-out." She smiled as she remembered their first night at the HQ.

"Bah," Malachi nodded again and closed his mouth. Then, using the fountain and bench as support, made his way over to Rabid.

"Bah," he said and pointed back to his stroller.

"What? What do you want?" Rabid stood and carried him to the stroller, setting him down next to it.

"Beeeaugh," Malachi burbled, frustrated. He pointed to the bag, which the crazy-haired lady opened. He reached in greedily and removed a small handful of red candies. He crawled quickly over to Deimos and sat, holding his hand out up to him.

"Thhhhhh," he held his other hand to his lips, trying to tell Dei to keep quiet.

Rabid stood and gave Jizzy a questioning glance.

"Sometimes it's best not to ask.." Jizzy said simply, shrugging as well.

Deimos' red eyes widened slightly a the sight of the candies and he ruffled Malachi's hair aprovingly. "You learn fast.." He said, taking a candy, unwraping it and plopping it into his mouth contended.

Rabid nodded, shook her head, laughed, and returned to Jizzy. "Kinda cute," she murmered low enough for Dei to not hear.

Malachi reached up further, offering the rest of what was in his hand to Dei. He had a lot more of the red stuff, but he could only hold so many. He smiled contentedly and gurgled happily.

"They'd never admit it though.." Jizzy add, chuckling at this little inside joke of theirs. She knew well that Deimos didn;t apreciate being called cute.

Deimos blinked several times. Ike was being ver generous, and despite his best intentions, he felt suspicious. He took a few more of the candies anyways and offered Ike a small smile in return.. "Ike eat too." He instructed.. He'd feel better once Ike ate one.

"Of course not!" Rabid laughed also, but kept her voice quiet. It was best to not make the little ones suspicious.

"Bah," Ike said and put the candies down. He picked one up and tugged at it with one hand and his teeth. Finally, it popped open. The candy fell to the floor, but he picked it up. A little dirt never harmed anyone. He quickly popped the candy into his mouth, careful to not swallow it. Crazy Hair Lady had warned him of that plenty of times.

"Malachi!" Rabid called out, but shrugged it off and waved her hand dismissively, "He won't choke."

Jizzy chuckled softly. They seemed to be getting along quite well and that made Jizzy relax slightly. She was worried about Dei and his cross and his temper, but for know all seemed well. "They seem to get along very well, maybe its the common interest.."

Deimos sucked cheerfully on the candy, feeling his own b lood pump through his veins as the bittersweet taste filled his mouth. There was nothing like the rush one got off blood, nothing.. Thoguh, this blood was nothing compared to that one time he'd licked a bit off of a paper cut his mother had gotten. Goodness the rush.. That was blood, well this was too, but there was just no comparison. "What kind blood you think this is?" He asked the babe..

"Possibly," Rabid agreed, "I just hope it stays, eh?"

Malachi swallowed the candy, just as he was about finished.

"Bah," he said and pointed out the window to a bird. Well, it wasn't exactly what he'd been looking for, but it got his point across, he hoped. Crazy Hair Lady had told him many times to never take any red stuff from a person, so he figured that anything she owned was from some kind of animal.

He just hoped that that animal wasn't a squirrel.

Jizzy nodded and gave a small yawn. Though recovered from her illness, a bit of the weakness remained, add an energetic child and long work hours and it was no wonder why she was sleepy. "I think it... *yawwwwn* will.."

Deimos looked at the bird and nodded in agreement. "It prolly animal. People's blood better though.. I not 'llowed to have, though..." He explained with a whistful sigh.

"Mmhm," Rabid nodded slightly, and then arched an eyebrow, "You alright? Need some sugar?"

"Meh, Deh-ee," Malachi nodded to Dei. Restrictions weren't fun at all, and he certainly didn't understand why he couldn't have Human blood. He then began picking up the few candies still lying on the floor and crawled carefully to put them back in the bag.

"Possibly, or maybe just sleep.." She said, yawned again and curled up confortably on the bench. It didn't take long till she was fast asleep.

Deimos watched Malachi return the candies and though he may give his friend a little taste of what real blood was like. He saw his mother asleep and took his chance. He crept up to her, slowly, silently and grabbed her hand gently. A small, yet noticable paper cut was fresh on it, from ruffling through so many books and notes lately. He squeezed the wound and let the blood spill slightly over his fingers, it wasn't much, but it was enough for him to steal a small licka nd still have enough to give to Ike. "Ike try.." He said moving to the small child and extending his slightly red fingers to him.

Rabid looked down and watched Deimos curiously. She didn't realize what he was doing before it was far too late.

"Deimos! No!" she shouted and reached out toward him, her face turning ghostly pale.

Malachi cocked his head to one side, peering at the red stuff on Dei's fingers. It didn't look or smell any different than any other time. Everything went sharp again, though, and he couldn't refuse the urge to taste it.

The little Mishap leaned forward and placed his lips to Dei's fingers. Almost immediately, his jaw locked in place. His tongue rested on the blood, unmoving. He let out a guttural moan and closed his eyes for a moment. His little hands flew up and grabbed Dei's wrist.

Using as much self-control as he could muster, though, he peered up at Dei, fire in his eyes.

"I wanna ride the pony..." Snooooore.. Jizzy had to be the heaviest sleeper, ever..

Deimos ignored her warning and just smirked. He hadn't wanted to let go his first time either. "Good, right Ike. But that's all we get, k.." He said, his voice stern at the last. He'd risked big trouble to get him this, though he was still savoring his taste..

Malachi reluctantly let go, keeping his eyes locked into Dei's. His face was suddenly very serious, emotionless.

"Goodness, Deimos," Rabid sighed as Malachi let go, "You can't do that. No Human blood until he can control himself. You could have gotten yourself bitten, or worse. She shuddered as Malachi's gaze switched to her.

Malachi looked up at the crazy-haired lady, unable to do much but stare. He was amazed by how different he felt, and didn't want to ruin it by moving. He sat completely still, moving nothing but his head.

Rabid thought for a moment and then returned to Jizzy. She glanced at the paper cut for a fleeting moment, tore her eyes away, and then began shaking her sleeping form. She hadn't the clightest clue as to what Jizzy could do, but it felt right.

Jizzy was slowly shaken awake and she yawned. "Huh.. wha.." SHe said as she woke and streched slightly. She blinked a few times, then caught sight of her bleeding hand and screwed up her face. "damned papercut.." He said, digging into her bag with her good hand, unaware that she was waving a bloodied hand around in front of not one, but two part vampires.

Rabid watched Jizzy's hand for a moment, her breathing deepening and pupils shrinking. She quickly regained her composure, though, and turned away with her hand in front of her eyes.

"Kindly bandage that quickly," she murmured.

Malachi watched not Jizzy, exactly, but the red splotch on her finger. He saw the crazy-haired lady clap her hand over her eyes, though, and giggled, his attention returning to her.

Everything faded again as he giggled crazily, covering and uncovering his eyes repeatedly.

Jizzy finally found the bandages in the bag and promplty covered the wound. "I'm sorry. Squeamish? I know I am a bit.." SHe yawned again, it was amazing how incredibly dumb she could be when half asleep.

Deimos couldn't help but follow his mother's hand and well, though his lust was not as strong, nor his self control as weak. His attention was easily diverted by Mlachi's giggles and his little game of peek-a-boo. Deimos soon covered his own eyes and removed his hands going. "BOO!" at the small child.

"Squeamish?" Rabid lifted her upper lip and pointed at a fang. It was amazing how out-of-it Jizzy could get.

Malachi gave an exaggerated gasp, clapping a hand over his mouth. He then squealed happily before placing his hands over his eyes again. He threw them out the the sides.

"Buah!" he cried and giggled, gasping at himself this time.

Jizzy blinked at Rabid several times before her sleepy breain finally caught up with he and sh gasped. "Oh.. Damn. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to.. Sorry, sorry sorry.."

Deimos gave a mock gasp of terror then huckled slightly. "So you try to scare me? You not scary at all." Dei said, ruffling up the child's hair.

"Eh. It's alright. Just be more careful," Rabid wiggled her fingers jokingly, "I don't vant to have to suck your blood."

"Meh..." Malachi thought for a moment, then got down on all fours. He squinted his eyes slightly and bared his teeth, letting out a low growl. He'd made Crazy-Haired Lady make a funny noise by doing that once. He was determined to make a good impression.

Jizzy shrugged absentmindedly. "I doubt It'd do much.." She said. "I spent some time with vampires a few years back.." By a few years, she meant a few centuries... "I let them drink a bit, a matter of trust, you know.. Didn't want them to take too much, or turn me, but they drank they're good amount.. Passed out after the third, but I felt fine after I woke up an hour or two later." She yawned and closer her eyes sleepily once more. Rabid might not have known how lucky she was to hear that little tidbit from Jizzy's past.

Deimos' eyes narrowed at Malachi's gesture, he knew it was an innocent, joking one, but he wasn't going to be outdone by a babe. He bared his own fangs, his tail began to swish back and forth. His eyesbrow wings raised themselves menancingly and, the final touch, his cloack began to billow slightly, despite the lack of wind.

"Hm," Rabid nodded, "You may have known dear old daddy, then. Who knows? I still don't like stealing friends'...life...essence. I tend to lose self-control. Ever seen Interview With the Vampire?" She hated the word "blood", really.

Malachi stopped abruptly, and his eyes lit up. He smiled and squealed happily, clapping his hands together awkwardly. Dei may be a bit of a show-off, but he was pretty good at it. Then he spotted Dei's tail.

"Oooooo..." he cooed, pointing. His eyes sparkled as he watched it swish. Why hadn't he noticed it before?

"Heard of it... Haven't seen it.." She said drowsily.. "But I'd still let you drink from me. As long as its not on the neck, I'm rather fine with it.. I don't die easy, don't turn either, so I wasn't at all to upset when I offered myself to those vampires back then, or to you now. It's actually a very interesting sensation.." Another yawn. She had to learn to stop talking when he brain wasn't working.

Deimos let his cloakand his eyesbrow winsg to flutter slightly before he relaxed and he smiled, very pleased with himself. When he saw the child focus on his tail however, he shifted slightly. "No touching.." He said, moving his tail out of view.

"Ah," Rabid said, arching an eyebrow, "Yous hould come over and watch it some time. Certain points quite accurately demonstrate my...uh...interesting ways. Don't tempt me, hm?" It was quite strange to her to be learning so much about Jizzy's past...even if it wasn't a whole lot.

Malachi shook his head and grabbed his own tail, pointing at it with his free hand.

"Bah," he said and swished it around. He didn't quite want anyone touching his tail either. Not that anyone had ever tried. It was amusing, though, to see another Mishap with a tail, let alone one that could move like his.

"When was the last time you fed anyways?" Jizzy said absentmindedly. "I figure you're half, since sunlight doens't bug you that much, but you still need to feed, dear.." She said in another yawn. Where was a bed when you needed one.

Deimos nodded at Malchi's actions. "We like brothers.. We both have fang and tail, we alike." Deimos said, if people were alike that meant they were related, right?

Right," Rabid smiled at Jizzy's observation, but her smiled soon faded slightly, "Off something living? A decade ago. In general? Few nights ago. I feel fine." Sure, she was getting to be a bit weak in the arms, but that was nothing important.

"Bah!" Malachi smiled happily and reached out to Dei and then, realizing that he couldn't reach, hugged himself. He liked the idea of having a brother.

Jizzy then did something which could be seen as many things. Stupid was one that probably would have come to the minds of many. She stuck out her arm, so her wrist was there, facing pwards towards Rabid. "Drink then.. I won't mind and if you truly lose control, I'll stop you.. Alright.." She said, openining her eyes and purposely moving to an uncomfortable position, so she would not fall asleep.

Deimos ruffled his hair and smiled. "You my Bro from now on, k?" He said, sitting down by Malachi, so they were almost at eye level to each other.

"Da," Malachi smiled and placed his hands in his lap. He turned, though, when Jizzy put her arm out. He watched, confused.

Rabid hadn't the slightest clue what it was that sent her over the edge. It could have been the conversation, or possibly the sight of Jizzy's wrist. Either way, she could now see her pulse. She licked her lips, not taking her eyes off the flesh.

"Plug my nose, and I have to breathe," she murmured, "Kinda like a dog."

In that moment, she leaned down and dug her fangs into Jizzy's wrist, purposefully missing any major arteries. She removed them soon after and pressed her lips to her friend's wrist, closing her eyes and sucking fairly hard.

Malachi watched in wonder as a drop of blood ran from the side of Crazy Hair Lady's mouth and landed in her lap. What was she doing to Deimos-watcher?

Jizzy was now very awake as she felt the bite. It was a sting of momentary pain, and a soft gasp caught in her thought, but the pain subsided rather quickly as he friend began to feed. It was, an interesting feeling to say the least, one that could be enjoyed and detested at the same time, depending upon your point of view. Jizzy, however, was used to this. Her blood was high in magic and she knew it, but that also meant she was almost impossible to kill. A little bite wouldn't phaze her.

Deimos was about to speak when the scent of blood filled his nostrils. He turned to see whose it was and saw Ravid feeding upon his Mother's. He would have cried out if the sight of the blood had not sent his eyes widened. He couldn;t drink that much from mother.. no.. He stood stark still, resorting to simply watching the act for now.

Rabid grabbed Jizzy's wrist on either side of her mouth, much as Malachi had done to Deimos, and caused a sudden rush of blood. She guiltily dragged her fangs along the already-made wound, making it larger. She both loved and loathed doing this, but her instincts won over.

Malachi's jaw dropped as he watched, his pupils narrowing yet again. It was strange, how the crazy-haired lady got red stuff from Deimos-watcher. How did it work? He didn't understand, but watched on, regardless.

Jizzy winced as Rabid's fans drew across the wound, and she took in a deep breath. Justa little longer and she'd draw her hand back. She was starting to feel a bit too lightheaded. "Rabid, dear.. That's all I can give you for now.." She said, shocked by how airy her own voice had just sounded.

Deimos licked his lips in anticipation. Did he get a turn? No.. This was hurting Mother and he wouldn't, but.. goodnes the blood. The mere smell of it sent his senses reeling, perhaps not as strongly as it did for Malachi or Rabid, but all the same, he lusted for the red liquid. "Mother.." He whispered, a mizture or worry and want in his tone.

Rabid's eye flashed open. She first looked to Deimos, and then to Jizzy. She gave the guardian a sad "I told you so" glance and then turned her eyes away, looking at the floor. She physically tried to wrench herself away, but it didn't work. So it was mostly Jizzy's fault, yes, but that didn't stop her from feeling guilty.

"BAH!" Malachi yelled. He wasn't quite sure why, but he wanted crazy hair lady to stop. Maybe it was because of Dei. Maybe he wanted some red stuff for himself. Either way, he yelled again.

Jizzy gave a deep sigh and raised her other hand to Rabid's temple. With a soft, and note very soft, joly of energy she sent a small shock thorugh Rabid. The kind you get from those joke handshake buzzer things. Just something to get her back to her senses.

Deimos heard Malachi's cries and it snapped him from his blod lust trance. He turned to the albino and saw the lust in his eyes. And for a moment, he felt scared. He didn't want anyone else feeding that much off of Jizzy so he toddler over to Rabid's bag, dug his hand in and pulled out two candies. Pulling off the wrapper, he stuffed one in his mouth and then did the same to Ike. Maybe this would get him to stop looking at Mother that way.

Rabid pulled backward, her fangs still bared. She licked her teeth and shook her head.

"I told you," she said, and then took a bite out of her own wrist, letting a few drops fall into the wound she'd created. She watched as it healed, "Now you know why I protested, hm?" She knew it was possibly possible for Jizzy to heal herself, but she felt obligated.

Malachi's eyes grew wide as the candy was placed in this mouth, but he happile accepted it. His desire for red stuff was again satisfied...at least temporarily. He was tempted to go and retrive some from the crazy-haired lady's lap, but, alas, damn his wobbly legs!

Jizzy smiled as the wound healed up. "And you see why I told you to go with it.. I could have had you stop an assortment of different ways, I chose one of the gentlest." She rubbed her wrist slightly as she vrought back away from Rabid, out of habit and also to rid it of that warm sensation vampire blood gave it as it healed. "I knew asking would not be enough, but It'd only polite to give you ample warning." She said, the smile plastered on her face as she looked over at Rabid. "Besides, its a very interesting sensation.." SHe repeated.

Deimos avoided the sight of the blood, as to not incite his urges again.. "We. we shoud play, Ike.." He said meekly, trying to distract him.. He couldn't hurt mother, no.. Not like that..

"I told you. Plug my nose," Rabid said, "Wouldn't want to be stabbed in the temple or anything. Now, tell me...what do you mean by 'interesting'? I've never been bitten before..." Not only that, she'd never been in contact with anything Vampiric before Malachi. She looked down at her own wound as it quickly healed. She wiped the excess blood off on her pants.

"Bah, Deh-ee," Malachi nodded and grabbed Dei's hand. Dei looked kinda funny, and he wanted to make him feel better.

"It's very.. well odd.. You'd think it hurts, but after the first bite it just.. fades away.. " Jizzy said, trying rather hard to explain something that, really couldn't be explained.. "It's like warm, but.. cold at the same time. You can feel the warmth of the blood, but your whole body goes cold.." SHe said, her tounge getting tied her and she sighed.. "Now you tell me, how did it taste?"

Deimos' lust for blood was fading rapidly, and as Malachi gripped his hand he gave a soft sigh. "It bad to take too much blood. Just little is ok, but too much is very bad.." He tried to explain. He glanced at his mother, and upon seeing she was alright, relaxed a bit.

"I'll stick with...interesting," Rabid arched her eyebrow, "and it tasted no different than the other time. Not really anyway. Besides the extra X chromasome in your DNA, of course." Her last statement, of course, was a joke. Male or female, it made no difference. Health did, but not gender.

"Da," Malachi acknowledged Dei's statement. He patted Dei's hand with his free hand, trying to comfort him. He still looked funny.

Jizzy chuckled softly. "Good. I mean, I know I have a lot of magic in me and I'm not sure if that changes the taste or not.." She didn't really know what her blood tasted like, let alone if magic made it better or worse.

Deimos shook his head slightly as if to get something out of his hair. The smell of blood was faded from the air and he was beggining to feel much better. "Ike want to play?" He asked the small child. He was feeling better, but something to free his mind wouldn't hurt.

"Well.. uh.." Jizzy didn't actually know how to answer this without actually speaking of her family, her people.. "Just, all my people are.. highly adept at magic, ever since we're born... It's just.. everything to them.." She said them, instead of us.. She didn't consider herslef part of that family, not anymore.

Deimos cracked a small smirk and begn to walk out into the gardens. 'What does Ike like to play?" He asked. Dei knew lots of games, but it was a bit difficult when Ike couldn't walk to well.

"Oh...well," Rabid suddenly realized that she hadn't the slightest idea how to put what she meant into words, "My friend, he was...magical in...nature? Not quite Human, not quite alive, yet more alive than myself." Her mouth moved to one side as she sat, realizing how insane she must have sounded.

"Bah," Malachi shrugged exaggeratedly as he stumbled around, his knees wobbly and weak. He peered around them and saw nothing immediately appearing to be a toy.

"Eh, sometimes it's best not to try to understand WHAT people are, just accept them anyways.." She said. Her brain was too tired still to make sense of it, but she sort of understood, sorta..

Deimos's eyes scanned around to try to see what they could play with and his eyes soon fell upon two long fallen tree branches. He went and grabbed them, handing one to Malachi and keeping one himself. 'We fight, like PIRATES!"

"I did...uh...do. I just haven't been around any such..."different" people in a few years," Rabid bit her lip.

Malachi grabbed a nearby wall for support and took the stick. This was probably going to be dangerous...but all the more fun, right? He brandished it clumsily in front of him, pointing it at Dei.

He giggled, and then growled slightly.

"I wasn't either for a while, but Gaia is just that kind of place.." She said snuggling once more into her comfy sleeping position.

Deimos waved trhe stick just as clumsily, his cloak bristling. "ON GUA!" He said, not really pronouncing the words right and he put up his stick against Malachi's.

"It certianly is," Rabid smiled and looked down at Jizzy, "You don't sleep often, do you?"

Malachi looked at the sticks for a moment, and then grabbed his with both hands. He swung Dei's out of the way and poked him on the way down. Upon hitting the floor, he laughed madly.

"Hm," Rabid nodded, then asked, "Speaking of work, d'yah know anywhere that's hiring? I don't think I can work freelance any more with a little one."

"Deh-ee?" Malachi threw himself onto all fours and crawled to Dei's side. He hadn't hurt him, had he? He placed a tiny white hand on Dei's stick and tugged, trying to get his attention.

"I don't know.. I'll keep an eye out for you though.." She said softly, smiling. She was lucky to have found a job in a busy place like Gaia and, well, it didn't pay much, but it got her by..

Deimos opened up a ingle eyes to peer at Malachi and smirked slightly, but otherwise remained deathly still, his eyes closing again.

"Thanks," Rabid smiled back. She had never had a full-time job anywhere, seeing as to how her skills were lacking in many areas.

Malachi, disappointed, crawled up to Dei's face. He hovered over it, careful to avoid the cross.

"Deh-ee?" he asked softly.

"The bookstore I work in may be hiring soon. One of the employyes is always very angry and moody and I think they may quit, ot be fired." She said, snuggling against the bench.

As he felt Malachi hover over his head, his eyes snapped up and he srpung up crying. "ARRRRGGHGHH" His intent was malcious and is cry was, rather well executed.

"Than--" Rabid began, but was cut off.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Malachi shrieked, frightened. It took him a moment, but he did begin laughing. Dei was funny.

Rabid stood and made her way quickly toward her child's cry...

Jizzy's eyes sprung open at the cry and she too toddled over to the children.

"You fell for it!" Deimos said, now in hysterics. He could never resist a good prank and he was glad Ike had appreciated it and now gotten all mad and huffy. It was all in good fun.

Rabid's breath had been caught in her throat, but she exhaled when she saw that both children were laughing.

"Everyone alright?" she attempted to keep a stern tone, knowing that Malachi tended to have a strange reaction to pain, "What was going on?"

"Mephhh," Malachi gurgled at Dei, and then turned toward the crazy-haired lady, smiling up at her and waving.

"I scare Ike!' Deimos exclaimed gleefully, still laughing. He loved a good prank, it made hie adrenaline rush.

Jizzy was about to scold Deimos for doing whatever it was he did to Malachi, but at both of thier laugheter she relaxed. "I forgot to mention Dei is a bit of a... prankster.."

"Beh," Malachi nodded and grabbed Crazy Hair Lady's pant leg, pulling himself up.

"Oh, it's no problem, really," Rabid grabbed a hold of her belt, holding her pants up, "Ike's a bit of a loony." She was, in truth, trying to decide whether or not to bring her child to Jabir to get his head examined or...something.

Malachi leaned down, picked up his stick, and held it up to Crazy Hair Lady.

Rabid took the stick and arched an eyebrow, "What's this?"

"Bah," Malachi retorted seriously and pointed to Dei.

Jizzy chuckled. 'Deimos isn't exactly too normal either, but that's just how he is.." SHe said.

Deimos saw Ike raise his stick and did as well, tapping them against each other. "We sword fight!"

"I guess not," Rabid smiled and then turned to Jizzy, "You think I should get him checked out?"

Malachi giggled as their sticks touched and held his fast.

"Swordfighting? Wow. Who won?" Rabid wasn't quite concerned. Both boys seemed quite adept at defending themselves, and malachi didn't seem to care when he couldn't...

"Not really, not at this young age.. He may just be energetic, that's all.." Jizzy said witha faint shrug.

Deimos, now taking advantage if the slight size difference pushed Malachi's stick awaya dn poked him playfully in the belly. "GOTCHA!"

Malachi gave another exaggerated gasp and let go of Crazy Hair lady's pant leg, falling to the ground and landing on his stick. He looked down at the stick for a moment, but then began laughing hysterically.

"That's just energy?" Rabid picked Malachi up and searched for any battle wounds.

Deimos was chuckling malevolently. "I bigger than Ike. I stronger."

Jizzy nodded, chuckling, much elss evily than ehr son. "He seems to just be havinga good time.. But then again, I have Deimos as a child, so my opinion is rather biased.."

Rabid, seeing no blood, rested Malachi on her hip.

"Yes. He always has fun," she smiled to Jizzy, and she then turned to Deimos, "You are."

Malachi reached down for his stick, almost whining.

Deimos' chest swelled with pride at Rabi'd aknoledgement, but as he saw Ike reach for the stick he was about to hand it to him when Jizzy yawned loudly once more..

"I think. I think Dei and I should get going.. Before I collapse..." She said, another yawn... "If you or.." She looked down at the small fanged child.. "You or Ike ever need a drink, just tell me and I'd be happy to give some." She said with a grin on her face as she waved from the stairwell.

"Thanks?" Rabid smiled and waved to Jizzy and Deimos as they left. She bent down and handed Malachi his stick before readying him to leave also. She didn't want to be alone reading again.

"Bah. Deh-ee!" Malachi yelled and waved, sadly watching Deimos walk away.

--Prelude to madness--

What a day.. JIzzy though as she wiggled the key to the room in its hole, the door popping open. SHe yawned. It was around 10 o' clock and she'd only just gotten out of her job. SHe looked over, spotting Deimos sprawled on the bed, snoring rythmically. She grinned. He was so cute when he slept. She dropped her bag onto the table, exhausted. Her arms ached from carrying books back and forth at her job.

A blinking light caught her attention. Kalina, thier phone so to say, was asleep on the desk. She arched an eyebrow. Who had left her a message? Not wanting to wake Kalina, she simply pressed the button on her that replayed the messages exactly, instead of the briefing Kalina ussually gave. Her breath caught in her throught when she recognized the voice.

"Hey Jizzy. It's Rico. I was just calling cause.. Ae's going out with Ried tommorow and she said Deimos could came too, and I was wondering if you'd like to come to dinner while they're out. You know where I live. See you then."

And with that the machine beeped off. Jizzy flopped down on the bed, rushing her fingers through her hair.. SHe ahd dinner, with Rico. Dinner, ALONE with Rico.
