Thats a good idea. I actually tried to break down almost every word to the simplest bits possible, so it ends up with long words, and it turns out that the language is hilariously literal.

I actually made a mistake or two. Here be the corect version. I'm not sure how to do the explanation, and this is my first hack at a synthetic language, so feel free to poke holes in it. Jeez, its hard to get my brain around it. I think I've got like a freaking 20 ish individual morphemes in that one really long word. Brain..... dying.

I think I'm going to work on this this weekend if I get all my work done, but since we magically get Monday off (I'd forgotten Labor Day was a holiday at all), I have fifty billion little things due Tuesday.

I'll extend the deadline. It gives me time to get more money. ;D

Ah, weekend. How I love it... I actually have work. Be amazed.

Oh my! I have a locker combination written on my elbow. I should um. Wash that off. biggrin (It's not "my" lock, it's in the chem lab...)

I really should do that thing though. It'd help with the conlangs a LOT.

eek

I'm fine with that, but it's likely to just give me more time to slack off. XD

Either way, I'm so sore right now I can barely lift my arms to type and use the mouse, much less be flinging around notebooks and pens to work on conlanging. >_< I shouldn't have done so many sets of benchpress yesterday.

I think I'll go sit in the corner and (continue to) read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, you know, for inspiration. surprised

I say, whaddya think of the book so far? Most people find it boring at first, but it picks up.

Also, like my new deadline? xp

Someday is good. I'll definitely get it done by Someday. XD

And I'm really liking the book. It does seem to get off to a bit of a slow start, but it seems like things are gradually picking up.

I've found that a lot of times... The best books start off slow and possibly even a little boring, but you still can't put the book down, and before you know it, you're reading through it page after page and losing track of time. biggrin

It's the sort of book where you realise that you promised yourself that you'd stop reading at the next chapter break seventeen chapters ago. mad D

·: sweatdrop heh I have four main dialects and none of them are fully developed. I think I've only got nominative pronouns and a couple others.

Hell... my othography and alphabet aren't even fully developed. I still have to decide on letters for /ʃ/ /ʒ/ /tʃ/ /dʒ/ /θ/ /ð/ /ʀ/ and /ɾ/ or /r/ and whether theyˈll be their own letters or what.

My story for which I'm making this language restricts the amount of letters to either 24 or 32.

Twenty-four seems like too few and 32 seems like too many when I go to make them. Perhaps an extra mark like a diacritic or Russian's hard sign can help me out.

First line is done... unless I screw with my grammar some more... I changed it from SVO to OVS, then to VSO, and now it's settled on VOS... Dx

It looks cool, but dear god is that some letter-soup. I can't even imagine how this would sound if spoken. No offense, but this makes me glad that I stick to analytical and isolating languages. xp
