Yet, she had to laugh, because it seemed as though Donovan might not have caught what she did. She knew, for sure, that he was either politely ignoring it, or completely clueless because he answered Tinania.
"People can't tell you that. Everyone's life is diff'rent," Donovan shrugged. "It's just my humble opinion that to just stop livin' is pretty damned selfish. As for how old I am -"
"Wait, wait, wait!" Devi interrupted, throwing her hands into the air and leaving Donovan wondering how she always kept that hook from accidentally stabbing her. Her wings flared out and flapped a few times, causing her feet to leave the ground. "Did no one else notice that? Come on, guys? Guin, you aren't carrying a torch, are you?" she teased, mischief glittering in her eye, perfectly matching the grin on her face. "Oh, this is rich! You came out here, yelling for Donovan to tell Tinania that it wouldn't work between them because you were jealous, is that it?"

Tinania arches a brow before looking at the rather red Raven. Jaw dropping she shook her head "She can't be serious, did you really?" chucklign she smiles "Raven I have someone I am waiting for to return, and if he doesn't I will continue to wait. I don't like Donovan, yes he is hott, but that is it." looking up at Donovan she smiles hoping he understood she didn't mean what she said in a bad way. But it was the truth, she couldn't give up, she would break if she did.
Raven growls at Devi before clasping then unclasping her metal glove "I was simply just stating she needs to get over this love she has for this guy. He won't won't came to her." turning she looks at Donovan "Isn't that right, love not worth it. She end up dying alone if she wait." she was trying to keep the topic away from her.

"Oh, you're such a ******** hypocrit!" Devi cried with delight. "Here you are, telling Tinania that she needs to get over this other guy, and you are walking around, in love with Donovan when he hasn't even shown interest in you. . . . Ever," she shook her head, still laughing. "Tinania, darlin'," she drawled. "If there is one lesson to be learned from this encounter, it is to never listen to advice from our dear Guinevere."
Donovan looked, wide-eyed, between all three of the women. Had they all gone mad?
He cleared his throat, and ran his fingers nervously through his hair. "Look, guys, I only wanted a nice, peaceful walk. I didn't want to-"
"Hush, Donovan. If you listen closely, you can hear ickle Guin's heart breaking for you," Devi sneered, her wings flapped a few more times, raising her higher into the air. She was clutching her stomach in delight.
"Devi," Donovan pleaded.
"Tinania," Devi said, looking at her in a serious manner. "Love is worth it. If you find it, you try to keep it. But, if this guy hasn't been around for a while, it is safe to say he doesn't love you, and you need to let him go. Please, darlin'," she drawled again. "I don't want you to end up like Guin. I am sure you don't want to end up like her, either. It's a rather pathetic existance, don't you think?"

Tinania didn't know what to say as she saw the cloak figure walk away. She wasn't expecting it really, from the way her fist kept balling up she was expecting her to attack Devi. Looking up at Devi she shakes her head "I can't get over him Devi. I'm sorry maybe you don't understand love the way I do. But when you love someone enough that each day without them feels like you last then maybe you will know." looking back towards Donovan she tries to laugh "Um...so much for a peaceful walk, but I guess you didn't know you run into her again." looking away she continie to watch the cloak figure.
Raven didn't say another word, she just kept walking. Out of anger, she wanted to kill Devi at this point. But being a friend of Donovan's she refused to do anything to the woman. So she just moved away from them all. If she was away from them, the demon inside would demand revenge.
Pressing her forehead against the brak of a tree her claws dug hard into the tree leaving deep marking in it. How she allowed them to find a weakness she didn't know. Growling again she was blaming it on the child. She had to get close to Donovan, and he defended her. It caused every part of her to burn with anger.

"Nice one, Devi," Donovan grumbled.
Devi looked rather haughty and pleased with herself. "Usstan tlun naut ulu crup whol l' kyikh d' ilta shar,*" she said. "It isn't my fault she can't take it. She tried to dish it out, but when someone looked too closely at her, she got pissed." Devi shrugged, unphased by it all. "She wants to pretend that she is 'little Miss. Badass' now. It's plain as those gorgeous green eyes of yours that she isn't. She just proved it, and it probably sulking over it now. Give it a bit, we'll see her again. If not today, sometime in the future." She looked toward the spot that Guin disappeared from view, as though expecting her to come out at any moment.
Donovan sighed. He shook his head, and forced a half smile. "Look, Tinania, about the earlier subject. I would have to agree with Devi on that. I've been through that kind of thing. You need to find a way to let it go. Then, you can heal, and move forward with your life. I mean, I am sure you don't like this perpetual state of limbo, do ya?"

Tinania shakes her head before looking down at her rings "No, but what if I can't let go?" closing her eyes she frowns "I think that is why she came after me, because she the same way." looking toward Devi she frowns "And if I had known someone like you. I would be angry all the time also. Your nothing like your brother, at least he has a heart." turning her back to Devi she looks up at Donovan "How were you able to let go?"
Raven sat down under the tree pulling her hood from her eyes for a moment. Placing her hand on the red rose she lifted it with her metal fingers bringing it to her nose. Closing her eyes she sighs, it was a mistake to come out, She should have just waited until her night. Then she would have left and never returned.
Now old pains return and her anger wouldn't allow her to leave.

Devi just gave Tinania a wicked grin. She didn't care what anyone thought, and being compared to her brother was nothing. Very few knew the kind of world she grew up in, so their judgement meant nothing to her.
Donovan shrugged. "It was a long time ago. . . ." it was obvious that he really didn't want to talk about it.
"It'll do you good to talk about it, you know, Donovan. I mean, to someone other than myself and Laer," Devi said, matter-of-factly.
He sighed, and rubbed his forehead. "Aimee-Jean was the love of my life," he started. "One day, she was gone. Xuixan, Jake and I searched all over Houston for her, but we didn't have any luck. Best we could figure, the Jaguars took her, but we couldn't be sure. AJ and Xuixan were tigers, and they had this on-going war, you see, and AJ was Xuixan's best friend. Xuixan was the leader of the tiger pack. Anyway, it turned out that she just ran off. Well, needless to say, I was hurtin'," he paused and smiled sadly. "I went on a trip. That's how I met up with Laer, Devi, and Guin. I basically visited all the places AJ and I liked to hang out, and then I went in search of new memories. I healed, it took a bit, but I did it."
"And, so ends 'The Ballad of Donovan Drake'," Devi smiled softly.
Donovan just laughed and shook his head.

Tinania nods looking down at her ring "Part of me understand what you are saying Donovan. Yet I still can't let go, I'm scared that if I do I will die on the inside." with a sigh she looks toward the area she knew Raven would be in "Part of me scared I will become much like her, feeling empty so she hides who she is through her anger." shaking her head she chuckles "Not that anyone would allow it. I know all my family would slap me upside the head." her wings flutter behind her before she nods "I just have to realize that in order to move on I must face it all. I think I finally understand that now."
Raven threw the rose to the side before pulling her knees up to her chest. It took a moment before she stood again brushing off the dirt on her pants. readjusting her top she moves back towards the group. her face was hidden once more under her hood. She wouldn't allow devi to get to her, she would hide i all again. Much like she been doing for years again.
It was all she could do, in a two months she would leave the town and never be seen by either of these people of her past again.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but don't be overdramatic," Donovan smiles a little. "A person cannot kill you on the inside. That's just how it is. Even if you think that they are the love of your life," he said.
"Amen, brother," Devi said, lifting a proverbial glass into the air in a toast.
She then glanced over as she heard approaching footsteps. "Your girlfriend's back, Donovan."
"Devi, I mean it. Knock it off," Donovan said.
Devi merely smiled, and looked over at Guin. "Nice to have you with us again, Guin."

Tinania looks over at Raven who didn't say anything, instead she just walk straight up to Tinania. Tinania held her breath as she felt the metal talon run along her neck over the small cut. Closing her eyes she hiss for a moment as she felt the heat for a second then nothing. Bringing her hand to her neck she felt for the cut, but it wasn't there.
Raven frowns before shaking her head "Don't think I have gone soft, I just rather not leave a mark of me failing. And he is right, no one and kill you on the inside, only you can do that to yourself. Don't make the same mistake I did fairy, it will eat you inside then you will truely lose." turning away again she slips pass Donovan walking down the road ahead of them.
Tinania shakes her head before looking up at Donovan "Is that the girl you remember or should I be scared?" she was hoping she just didn't get marked. Afterall Raven tried to kill her already, what if she would when they were both gone.

"It's a little bit of her, I guess it is a start," Donovan replied, hastily, before sighing. "I'll be back." Calling after Guin, Donovan hurried to catch up with her.
"Hey, you aren't pissed about Devi, are you?" he asked when he finally reached her. "Because, ya know how she is, Guin. You know what she is, and you know who made her that way."
Devi crossed her legs, her already short skirt riding up and giving anyone looking her way a nice view of her lacy thong. She flapped her large wings to keep her in the air, and smiled over at Tinania. "Donovan was being truthful. She might have made up that excuse about leaving a mark of her failure, I am not too certain about her now. She has changed quite a bit," she finally showed sadness in her smile, and her tail swished lazily under her. "She used to be fun, bet you wouldn't have guessed, huh? But, she was. I kind of wish we never got seperated. She might not have turned out the way that she is now. . . ."

Tinania shook her head before sititng down herself "No I would never have guessed she was once a fun perosn to be around. But I can tell she part demon, born that way in fact. Maybe that side of her finally consumed her?" glancing over at Devi she runs her fingers over her rings thinking over what everyone had just said to her.
Raven stop before she turned looking at Donovan "No I'm not, she is who she is. We have always butted heads Donovan, and always will. Beside pretty soon she won't have to deal with me, nor will you." turning away from him she pulls her cloak closer to her body.
he was too close and she would show signs of weakness, that she didn't want. Closing her eyes she shakes her head again "This was a mistake I should have left well enough alone. You would have never known I was even alive if I hadn't decided I wanted to see you again."

"I don't know," Devi said, tapping her chin. "I mean, if that is an excuse, then I have a good one at my disposal. People use my past to explain away what I am and who I am, but I don't know. Maybe I was destined to become like this? I don't like to think that people molded me, I want to believe that I had some control over my life," her eye glowed at that while small flames licked at her knuckles.
"We did think you were dead," Donovan said. "Devi even braved going back to L' Chathen* to look for you. You have to know what that cost her," he continued. "But, she didn't hear anything about your mother bringing you back down. We thought, for sure, that she finally killed you."
He reached over and rubbed her arm for a brief moment before pulling away. "Despite Devi, we're glad to have you back. I am sure that Laer is going to feel the same way, if you decide to see him."
He then paused a moment, and frowned. "Guin, why didn't you ever tell me?" he asked, quite suddenly, and probably to throw her off-guard.

Tinania looks over at Devi before she chuckles "I was taught you can overcome anything, so long as you had the support you needed." sighing she couldn't help but wonder if that was why she couldn't get over Surion. Because she would loose the support that was always there in her life. But she had her family now, they all suppost her. It was just letting go now. With a chuckle she shakes her head "I just have t go back to the home I was mine I turely move on. Its the only way."
Raven kept her eyes closed before she laughs "Devi really did that for me? I never thought I hear that one." pausing she shook her head not really thinking "I couldn't it would have been selfish Donovan, you were searching for AJ, and yet here I was falling for you. So I kept it to myself. When my mother found out, she threaten to kill you all if I didn't go with her. I didn't have a choice. So I did as I was told, just so you all would live, hoping you all would figure it out and come find me."
She didn't finish what she was saying because she was shaking. From the pain of having to remember it all, then the anger of them not coming to get her. She was left with nothing, even after her own mother tried to kill her she fled. She didn't look for them all, as she figure they didn't want her around. She just remind hidden allowing her thought to twist her to the point she became another person.

"Good luck with that, Tinania," Devi said, smiling in a way that made it known that she was being genuine. "I really hope that you can put this behind you."
Donovan reached out and grabbed Guin. He pulled her close to him, and wrapped his arms around her, hoping to at least stop the shaking. "You shouldn'a kept it all bottled up, Guin. That tears a person up, you know that. And, you know if the four of us woulda stood up to your mother, we probably coulda killed her once and for all. You shoulda asked for our help."
