Fox nodded, his smile far away. Angel, he thought fondly, glancing over at his servant. If only he had been born his brother in truth... But this is good enough, the heir thought to himself before turning back to Ev. "It is. I can't imagine life without my Angel," Fox said, glancing slyly to his left. Yep, sure enough, Angel was pink as the dawn sky. The heir chuckled inwardly - Angel was so easy to fluster. Beyond all the jokes, though, it was true and they both knew it.
Not that it would stop Angel from turning an extraordinary shade of pink whenever Fox referred to him that way.
"I'm surprised your king didn't make you you bring a lady-in-waiting. It's unusual for a princess such as yourself to travel with no maidservant," Fox commented, wondering just why the king would refuse such a request. Three guards were well and good, but they had no place helping a lady bathe, or dress, or any of the other things that a maidservant would do. Fox was quite sure Ev didn't require the services, but that didn't mean they weren't nice. Angel insisted on preforming them for Fox, despite their friendship and, in Fox's eyes, equality.
Fox grinned back at Ev - she was sharp! Sharp, and she had a sense of humor. That was more than could be asked of most ladies. It was refreshing to see. "Oh, make me laugh you did! You speak with such wit, Lady Ev, that one cannot help but to smile," Fox said, cocking his head to the side a bit. His tone of voice was respectful, but with just a hint of flirtatiousness in there as well. Fox couldn't help it! It was in his nature...
Beautiful laugh... Fox thought, the sound contagious enough to make him laugh along as well. "Oh, I have much the same story as you - I've met the other heirs only during formal events. Let me see...." the grey-haired man said, angling his eyes upwards as he tried to recall what the other heirs had been like. "Ah, yes - Matari of Lucasta... A bit of a brat, from what I recall, though she be almost 10 years my senior. She disrupted the musicians playing at our ball. There was also Ziren of Incarnus, but I met him when he was so young it hardly counts... Seemed like a trickster, though. Elaina of Druada was, last I saw her, quite the rebel! A very... ah, fiery girl. It's been a long time since I've seen most of them, though," Fox finished with a shrug. He did hope that Matari had grown up a little bit - Ziren too, though of course Fox could appreciate his nature. They even shared the same sort of a talent, which amused the elder of the two to no end.
Angel turned back forward with a sigh. None of the guards looked as though they were particularly enthusiastic about talking, which meant he would be riding in silence for a while. Ah well. 'Twill do me no harm, the redhead thought with a soft smile. Besides, then he could watch just what Fox was saying about him. Honestly, that comment about his being Fox's Angel... The servant closed his eyes for a moment. Okay, so maybe it had been kind of nice - especially given the dual meaning. But that did not mean it was proper! Honestly...

Carmen had been travelling all day. Hour after boring hour had passed, and still nothing to stem the boredom. She had ordered her servant to stop the carriage at an inn, set on the road just outside a village for travellers like herself. She planned to have alittle fun while still in this youthful form. She knew once she had the star she would have eternal youth, but what was the harm in spending alittle time becoming reaquainted with the life of the young. She waited for the servant to open the door, then stepped outside, looking about her. Night had fallen, and the sky was filled with twinkling stars, like smaller and dimmer versions of her soon-to-be meal. She grinned her wicked grin up at the sky, as if threatening to take down other stars, just for the power they held.
She gave her servant his orders, to take the carriage around to the stables and to get a room. She then headed inside, towards the bar area. It was musky inside the inn, the stench of on magical folk filling the air. Many eyes turned to look at the beautiful young woman who entered, and Carmen felt delight at the attention. She may have been a twisted and even crazed woman, but she was still a woman. She moved forward, her cloak dragging slightly on the ground as she moved, hugging to her slim frame. She couldn't believe how much energy she had. Even after riding in a carriage all day, she felt only a slight amount of exhaustion. Normally, without the star power, she would have been stiff and in need of a long rest.
She ordered a drink and leaned against the bar slightly, faking innocence to attract some poor, helpless soul. All she really wanted was alittle fun, though few there would be able to guess what that really meant. She was a cruel woman, after all, and what was fun for her was something that few others would likely find so fun. She saw the sneers and rather lustful looks from some very drunk men, and she grinned at them, though she forced herself to continue to look sweet and innocent.

Evion grinned at both Fox and Angel, but she addressed Angel. "Why such a blush, Sir Angel?" She smiled and winked at the man. "Compliments are truth in their simplest form."
"But Father knows me too well. He knows I wouldn't have talked to them except to tell a joke. They're dry conversation, truthfully. And really, I didn't prefer to ride with one ultimately. Yes, a female presence would have been nice, but that's a lady needing defending." Evion shook her head, stating sadly, "Ladies aren't often taught to defend themselves Bractus, sad to say. And it would have been another burden to my friends." She gestured at Sir and his comrades. But Leya wouldn't have been a burden. She's the quickest knife-thrower I know... But Father just sniffed at the thought of my traveling with a 'scullery girl', completely disregarding that she's my only true friend. Evion sighed lightly.
"Wit? From these lips? Father calls it back-sass!" She giggled again. "Flattery is a dangerous thing, Lord Fox. It makes a lady flutter her lashes far too much." She gave another teasing wink. But her face became serious then. Well... At least mockingly so. "And my dear Lord Fox, I ask you now to not call me Lady." She grinned again. "It makes me feel... old..."
Evion nodded as he named off the heirs and heiresses. Smiling thoughtfully, the teen stated, "Ah yes. Matari. The ladies-in-waiting would always chide me with a 'you're getting to be as bad as that Matari?' I always just grinned and ran off. I wasn't the sweetest child to Matari, though, that's for sure. And Ziren. Yes. He played a few pranks on me... I always got him back for those in our archery tournaments and tree-climbing. And Elaina! She and I had an adventure or two. Happy times!" Her face fell slightly as Evion remembered why she was traveling. "Quite the contrary to what lies ahead..."
That gave her an idea. Oo... Sir will not be happy... Oh well. Let the wet blanket complain. I wish he was more like Fox and Angel are... Ev gave a small shrug, then turned slightly in her gold and silver embroidered saddle. "Speaking of ahead... Don't get caught!"
With a firm, but gentle kick to Tanyon's flanks, Evion spurred her steed ahead at a lolling canter. She didn't look back, only grinned as the wind pulled at her plaited hair. Exhilarated, the teenage heiress laughed as if she were alone for just that moment with Tanyon, as she remembered from her years before stories of the Witches and their evils had been told. I wonder what Fox and Angel shall think of me now... A child that's needed to be kept under constant watch? Whatever their thoughts, this is who I am... I can see them appreciating that. Poor Sir... But she rode on, laughing in genuine delight, as the sun crept higher into the sky.

??????? ???????? Current day
Thud thump thud thump grass pulled up from the ground as a strong steed made its way through a forested area. It seemed bent on speed and strength, raging forward as if it was in no inclination on stopping. It was almost mad on pushing onward as the very rider on it. Every so often he'd yell "hi'yah" to it, and pointed off with his reins in the directions he wanted to go. Oh how the foliage trembled under the mounting steed. Trees passed quickly, yes things moved on in a rush for him. But why was this man in such a rush? Obviously...'they' told him that he would have to get there soon before the star was plucked way from their dreams once more. However they really bade way no specific instructions on how to get there. So he and his mad steed made quick pace looking throughout the forested areas, looking, probing all the proximity on the outskirts of the kingdoms.
Ah if he did not find her soon, 'the others' would arrive. That was a frightening thought. Could he really pull off a disguise? Would they believe that he was Prince Ziren? Sure the Prince was a social man, but he got caught up in his studies that he hardly went away from the kingdom. Nobody probably knew exactly how he looked nowadays...right? And yeah as 'they' explained to him, nobody would really know what he looked like either, so he could just pull it off. If the heirs came across him, they would know him simply as Prince Ziner.
Ah still he couldn't help but worry about them looking at him, and trying to pry further into it all. Sure he looked close enough to the prince, he had black hair, strong build, and a nice clean cut shaved face... which he resented. Even more, he wore the Prince's outfit. His voice was even almost similar to the Ziner. If anything it was a perfect match, only someone from Icarnus would know the difference, heck not even half the people in Incarnus would know the difference really. So sure he could pull it off, there was no worries... "Kai, faster!" He yelled... no worries, yeah right, even if he got away with it, he was impersonating a Prince, he had plenty of worries. All he hoped right now was that he was in the right forsaken forest and that he would stumble upon a crater sooner or later.

Fox cocked his head. So not all were as lucky as Angel and he, to be paired with their best friend indefinitely. "You don't have a maidservant you've been with your whole life?" the heir asked her, curious. Fox didn't know much about the way the other heirs had grown up - only himself, and he'd always had Angel. Maybe Ev had had one too, and they simply hadn't gotten along.
Fox arched a teasing eyebrow, giving a small smile as he did. "Only Ev, then? Well, a man worth his salt cannot ask more of a Lady than she does of him - I suppose that leaves you with only Fox," he said, mimicking her mock-serious tone. "And besides," Fox began, leaning in so that she could hear his whisper, "it's only flattery when it's not honestly deserved." The heir gave her a roguish grin, then straightened in his saddle.
Angel snorted to his side, eliciting a flat look from Fox. Angel gave it right back. You are so predictable, Angel thought, rolling his eyes at his master. He was such a ladies-man... Really, it was like he couldn't help himself or something. Fox just turned to quickly stick his tongue out at his friend before turning his attentions back to Ev.
Fox gave a light "tch" noise when Ev mentioned something about their journey ahead not being a fun one. "Oh, of course it'll be fun. It's fun already," he said, pausing suddenly as he noticed the look in her eye. Oh, don't even try to pull that one on me... he thought, amused. And then sure enough... Fox laughed lightly as Ev broke into a canter, then leaned forwards and urged his horse into a chase. Angel, too, expected the trick - one too many times traveling with Fox had taught him to recognise the signs, and so he wasn't left behind either.
Fox's horse had a slightly faster gait than Ev's, and the palomino soon caught up to Ev's mount. Fox leaned over with a smile. "Really - I'm a master at that one. But now that we're here..." The heir winked, then leaned back so that he was straight in his saddle, leaned down and gave his horse a firm squeeze. Fox looked over at Ev just before his horse took off in truth. "Fox!" Angel called, seeing what was coming - but when did the heir ever listen to his better half.
"Let's race!" Fox proclaimed, letting the golden stallion take off down the road.

Deep in the heart of a rather large and dense forest rested a crator. It had been caused by what most would describe as a ball of blue white flame, shooting through the sky and crashing to the earth. This would be a rather adiquate description. It was, in fact, a fallen star, thrown from its heavenly home by some very powerful magic. Now, alone and afraid, it lay in the center of the huge crator. However, this star did not appear as one might have pictured a star to be.
Deep in the crator, surrounded by a dense forest owned by nothing more than the creatures themselves, lay a helpless young woman. She was, for now, unconcious. It seemed odd to see such a fair maiden, lying in such a large bowl of earth. Yet there she lay, frail and fragile, yet untouched by the darkness of the world, at least for now.
As time passed, the light that had been shining about her began to fade, and she began to stir. First a soft moan and a slight fluttering of eyelids. Then, soon after, slight shifts of the body under the shimmering blue gown she wore. Blonde hair fell freely about her, framing her slim form. Finally, her eyes forced themselves open, and she awoke. It seemed a great task for her to force herself up, but she eventually managed, though she could not yet walk. She sat up, looking about her in slight confusion. What had just happened? She remembered very little, save something bright heading straight for her, then darkness had overcome her. She continued to look about her, until her her bright eyes rested on a sparkling jewel. It was a sapphire, placed on a beautiful silver chain. This was the gem that had knocked her from her home.
She picked up the jewelry and place it around her neck. No need to leave such a trinket lying around. She tried to stand up, but merely fell back down. The fall had taken a toll, and she wasn't sure she would be able to walk. With a hmph she crossed her arms over her chest, looking about. Well, now what was she to do? With no one around, and apparently unable to support herself, she was as good as a sitting duck.

Before racing off, Evion had shaken her head slightly. "No. Well... None that Father truly approved of. He loves that I have a good friend... But he loves propriety [correct word?] and keeping to procedure. So... Leya was not allowed to do much with me..."
"Fox it is then, my good Lord." She gave a teasing smile. At the latter statement however, poor Evion could not help but blush slightly, a bubbly grin on her lips.
The guards had to wonder (as this was still before having to give chase to the rascally charge), at the relationship of Lord Fox and Sire Angel. It was odd. Sir knew that Evion wanted a friend like that, but knew the king was not really relenting when it came to protocal.
Evion had not heard Fox's last statement about their trip. She'd already cantered away, laughing elatedly. She knew they would all give chase. Fox and Angel were like that, and her easy-to-tease guards had a 'duty to protect the heiress of Bractus'.
As Fox came level with the young heiress, she could not help but grin. In a teasing reply to the gray-haired noble, "Master, eh, my Lord?" She watched as he sped away, with a shout from Angel. All Evion could do was grin.
"Faster, Tanyon, faster," she whispered excitedly into her mount's ear, leaning over his neck for a more aerodynamic position. A sharp kick to the flanks encouraged the animal into a full-out run, causing her to catch up to Fox. "Race we shall, dear sir!" she shouted over the rushing wind as she passed him with a wave and a wink.

"I thought it was to be just "Fox" now!" Fox called forwards to Ev as her horse sped on, leaning over his own horse's neck with a sly smile. "C'mon, Jupiter, we have a race to win," he whispered, egging him on with both his heels and his seat. The palomino, always willing to oblige when it came to speed, broke into a full gallop. Fox soon reached Ev, reigning Jupiter in subtly so that they ran side by side. If Ev sped, so Fox did too. It would be ungentlemanly to win this race, but it would hurt his pride to lose - at least, the former was Fox's rationale. Whether or not it was valid was questionable.
Angel sighed, watching his master speed on, and slowed. He patted his horses neck, then held a hand out to the guards. "Let them go. Trying to follow them would be useless, and your horses are already tired," the redhead said absentmindedly. The poor horses beneath the guards couldn't hope to keep up with those of the two heirs, especially considering their heavily-armoured riders. Angel's horse could have, he knew, but he would let Fox have his fun. There was no need to gallop off after him when they would catch up with the tired horses in 10 minutes or so.
Angel nudged his horse into a light trot, following slowly. The two nobles weren't even out of sight, and likely wouldn't be. Besides, if anything went wrong, Fox knew how to take care of himself. He was much like his namesake in that regard. Angel turned his head to look at one of the guards. "Does she do that often?" he asked, though he guessed that he already knew the answer.
Fox, meanwhile, was having a blast! Ev liked to ride fast, which he appreciated as well, and she was even proving a bit of a challenge to keep up with! Fox was loving it - he hoped they wouldn't stop soon, but horses could only keep up a gallop so long, and presently they had to slow to a walk to rest the two animals. Fox reached up and brushed his grey hair out of his eyes, the wind having done quite a number on it while they'd run. "You're quite the rider, L- Ev," the heir said, correcting himself on the last syllable. He smiled at her, then turned to look back. "It seems your guards gave up the chase! I wonder if it was because their horses tired of carrying such large tin cans," Fox joked, looking at her from the corner of his eye in a wryly amused fashion.
"Shall we wait for them?" Fox asked, letting Jupiter choose his own pace as he ambled down the road, blowing fairly hard from their excellent run. The palomino had used up quite a bit of energy fighting Fox for his head, too, as Jupiter was never one to tie on purpose. The stallion was proud, and feisty! Fox's father had chosen him in particular for his son.

Evion noticed Fox did not ever move too far ahead. Always level. It's because I'm a woman... she thought with a slight pout. Oh well, at least, he seems to be fair about his winning... I love when men are honorable and just... Even if it's just a game...
The guards grumbled to each other. They knew Angel was right. And it was true that Lady Evion knew how to take care of herself as well, but they kept quiet. It would not do to disregard the companion of an heir of another kingdom.
Sir watched as Angel nudged his ride into a trot, and mimicked him. The other two guards did likewise, as well. If anything went wrong, Sir would know because Lady Evion had sworn to give some signal after the first time she'd run like that. Sir started brooding over having to watch such a reckless child... It did not suit his tastes, but since he was the best- "Oh," he grunted from beneath his helm. "She does. Lady Evion is a... a fun-loving woman... To say the least..." He swallowed and stared sourly at the two young heirs ahead.
Fox was giving Evion a challenge she had not had in years. All the men at home would rein their horse in right before the finish line, allowing her to fly past. And the woman never even thought to have races. The castle life seemed so dull... Anyways, she thought as their horses slowed. That was great fun! Evion brushed her bangs from her green eyes with a smile. "Aye, sir! You too!" She, too, turned to see the others. "Yes. Seeing as that's the fourth time I've done that... I'm sure their steeds are complaining some." Ev leaned closer, a teasing gleam in her eye. "But I'm sure they complain less about the tincans than my nurse." She giggled. "God bless that dear woman. How I miss her..." She grinned again.
"But waiting for them? That is up to you, Fox, sir. Sir and his men's poor horses are probably at a slow walk. That gives me an idea. And no. I won't run again," she said with a small grin. Instead, the young heiress slowed Tanyon to a stop the proceeded to dismount. Once on the ground, she took her reins and began walking beside her roan Arabian.
"What in goodness's name!" Sir exclaimed. "That child! Honestly...!" The man rolled his eyes. Very unprofessional, yes, but the man had given chase to the girl four times and was now watching as she dismounted on to the ground where she was at greater disadvantage in an attack.
"I'm sure Tanyon would rather not carry all this velvet..." she said with a whimsical nod towards Fox. She glanced back at the four stragglers. "They shall catch up now. You don't have to wait for me, too, though." She strolled along, taking in the surroundings, allowing time for Angel, Sir, and the other two men to reach them.

Angel nodded to the guard in sympathy. Oh, could he ever sympathize! Fox was forever getting into trouble, hiding himself so that none but Angel could find him, nicking things from the kitchens, going on odd jaunts, usually in the middle of lightning storms... Angel's master was such a troublesome creature! Angel wondered if Ev was as bad. If she is, they're perfect for one another, he thought grumpily, squinting at the horizon line, where the two seemed to have slowed. "I can feel your pain, sirrah," Angel muttered to the guard.
"The forth?" Fox asked with a laugh. "Even I'm not that bad!" So that was an outright lie, if looked at in any way other than the immediate. He hadn't taken off on Angel four times, no, but he'd caused his share of mischief for his friend in just the two days they'd been gone. "Your nurse didn't like guards much either, eh? And good! I don't think Jupiter's much in the mood for another run at the moment," the heir said with a chuckle, patting his horse's neck as he followed Ev's lead and dismounted. Kind to her horse, I see, Fox thought fondly. It was always a good thing in a noble, kindness to the things beneath their station. Those who knew kindness to animals were those Fox usually got along with as well. He did not believe them to be entirely coincidental.
"Ev, I wouldn't dream of it," Fox said as he moved to walk along beside her. He took care to keep Jupiter on his left, as far from Ev's horse as he could. The stallion could be finicky about new horses, particularly if they were stallions as well. Jupiter always wanted to prove that he was the boss. "How long have you been traveling?" Fox asked as they ambled down the road. He was less than bothered about getting dust on his coat, though Angel would probably groan and clean in when they made camp for the night.
Angel was groaning even now, actually, though Fox couldn't hear it. "Can't you take care of your clothing for once?" the redhead complained, though he was yet far too far away for Fox to even know he'd spoken. "Now I'm going to have to wash it again..." Angel ran a hand through his read hair and pursed his lips. On the outside he certainly looked slightly irritated, but inwardly? Well, what else could he have expected. This was Fox, pure and simple... Angel smiled softly as he looked out at his friend. Were it only I could just let you be you, always, Angel thought. Duty, though, got in the way.

It was already roughly noon, and yet no sign of her accomplice showing up. It seemed that, at least for now, Matari would be on her own. She feared this, she never enjoyed going out of town on her own, perhaps it was because she was worth so much. She shook her head trying to rid her mind of such thoughts. It was then that the door to The Colored Ale burst open, Matari gave the intrusion no mind, she knew who was there. "You there, tender," Yes, Matari knew that voice well, it was the captain of the royal guards. How she dispised this man, he was foolish, yet resolved to his duties. "Tell me, have you seen any visions of the princess?" Guh, of course, father must have sent him out to find me, it has been three hours since I left. Matari kept her mouth shut as she listened to the bartender babbling on about his bar being the best in the Lucasta. Trying to reason with the captain as why any nobles would be in such a low-life place as this.
"If you are to hear any rumors, you are to report it straight to me."The captain waltzed out of the bar, slamming the doors open as if they were nothing but insects. Outside he could be heard telling the commoners to move out of his way. Well, I suppose it's time for me to leave then. Matari got up from her seat. and her arm was suddenly grabbed. "You aven't payed yer tab yet, lassie." The barkeep held her arm tightly, apparently not willing to let a customer leave. "I didn't even order a drink, kind sir, I have no money you see, and my family is nearing starvation, I simply came in here to rest from the sun." Matari said trying her best to lie. "Doesn't matta, you used me bar, and you've to pay the price, even for sittin." The man eyed her closely. "Wait just a minute, you be the missin princess, ain't cha?" The man seemed flabberghasted. "No, I'm a simple peaseant and nothing more, even if I do resemble the princess, doesn't mean I'm her." Matari's voice was starting to fill with anger, she jerked her arm trying to free it. The barkeep clearly wasn't about to let go, she increased her pull. "C'mon then lass, there are other "ways" to pay, which I will wholeheartedly accept, considering its you." With that said Matari put all her strength into a pull, and the bartender was sent flying through his own walls, with such a sudden change Matari was flipped over. She landed on the wooden floor, her hood had fallen, and now her face was revealed. Gasps came from all around The Colored Ale, as everyone had recognized the princess. "I knew it, you was the princess." The barkeep had somehow miraculously recovered, which left Matari with little time to think of her options. I suppose it's time to leave then. She hurried to her feet, and ran out the door. Then she remebered that her hood was still down, folks gasped as they recognized Matari, and whispers began to spread from one person to another. This is bad. She thought to herself. Only one real chance. She turned to her right and fled out of the town, hoping not to be recognized by anyone else. Now at the edge of town, she veered to her right once more in a sharp turn. She ran into the forest hoping the trees wold conceal her tracks.

The guard nodded stiffly. "The king said that I and my men no longer had to accompany the heiress upon reaching our destination." How I cannot wait... he thought, suddenly exhausted. "My age must be catching up to me..." Sir said, shaking his head slightly.
"Are you not?" Evion asked with a knowing smile. "Well then. Seems I enjoy fun a little more than you, my friend Fox?" she teased. But she shook her head in response to Fox. "Not in full, no. She always thought they were a bit too stiff when it came to... 'punishing' me. How she gave those men scoldings! I would hide behind a tapestry or anywhere just to hear Nurse give those men a piece of her mind!" She grinned again, fondly remembering those days. "And Jupiter is it? What a majestic name!" She thought for a moment. "Tanyon... Jupiter... Hmm..." she hummed, thinking with a smile on her face. "Lovely names!" she concluded, happily and with a wink at Fox.
But the girl gave a small curtsey, however clumsy. "Up to you, my good fellow. The company is enjoyed." Her tone was yet again, mockingly serious, her disdain for 'manners' and what-not apparent. "But how long? Well... let's see. No more than 2 moons I would say... Yes. We've made camp twice now. But the four of us have been riding a leisurely pace." Evion paused to contemplate her words. "Okay. A leisurely pace when we weren't racing, that is." The heiress glanced over at the young man. He stood about five inches taller than herself, her eyes level with his mouth. Evion couldn't help but smile.
The guard turned to face Angel. "He does not take of his clothing either? Well. Something in common for the two, then! She wears dresses of lesser ranked women, and the dresses are always dirty in some form or fashion..." he sighed. In truth, Sir was not as put off by having to care for Evion. He enjoyed it to some extent. She was observant and had a good knack for inferring things that tended to be true. The girl also was able to make pretty much anyone smile with her innocent antics. "Aye, the child is very free-spirited," he muttered aloud.

Prince Ziren 2 Days Ago
"Ah!" A long wooden spear aimed straight towards Captian Reinhert's torso. The man barely had time to pivot his feet to get him out of the way, but he did more than just that, no when a person was attacking you always had to be on the offense as well. And so as he moved out of the way, he braced himself against the spear, and glided himself across it, almost like a pulling thread to the end of the labyrinth, and there he would find his sword, his sword that would soon be slashed against Ziren. Yes, he was already a step towards victory, all he had to do was bring down his swo-
Right before the sword came down, no, even before the Captain got in position, Ziren moved his left hand to hold the base of the spear just as he got down lurching forward. Over extending himself was a bad idea, the Captain was eagerly waiting to make a counter move on it, and that he did, he spun himself across the spear and headed straight for him, however Ziren was ready. 'Never attack, unless you're prepared for the second attack,' his old man always taught him, and prepared he was. Just as quickly as the Captain came at him, he braced his right hand firmly on the spear keeping that as leverage, as he then used all of his force on his right hand to push down right on the spear, causing the top side to-
SMASH! It hit against Cross's shoulder, not enough to cause any real pain but enough to the throw the man off balance. It was just enough of an opening that Ziren could get an attack in once more without worrying of any retaliation. Victory was hi-
"Ziren!" A loud bellowing voice ripped at Prince's spine. The delicate dance of weaponry and finesse, was over the second the words were uttered. The prince knew all too well who the words belonged to...
"Ah Vassal, nice o-"
"I don't care what you have to say!" Vassal was furious and moved straight towards the young prince, "I've been looking all over for you, and here you are? Now I have to go back to the King and tell him you-"
"No need, if he is worried enough to send you here to get the Captain, then everything is going according to plan." A grin smile was across his face, probably the biggest enigma that Vassal would ever be challenged to solve on his own.
Of course Vassal would never understand the true quirkiness of the Prince, and so he made certain that he did not want to pay little use to petty things, "Your father even knows when time is enough to quit playing games, so what is this plan you have? To make Incarnus into a fool? Because you're doing a fine good at doing that already with your disappearance."
Things always seemed this way with the Ziren, his clever ploys always had a little bump in the road, of course it was nothing he couldn't beat out like the old rugs. Nope, he could get this well under way, all he had to do was just remain the calm and collect man he was while explaining everything, so Vassal would know that he had a head on his shoulders, and this wasn't just another game to him. "Vassal, I have put a lot of thought into this, and no I am not looking to make Incarnus into a fool, on the contrary I am looking to make it look like the best kingdom out there."
"Do tell then," for once it seemed Vassal was ready to listen through with what the Prince had to say, but Ziren knew it would have to be good or less he be sculled with words for rest of his life. Good thing he prepared his words careful-
"Did I miss something?" The old Captain said, scratching his head and looking at both of them.
That he did...that he did...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In hindsight, perhaps if the Captain knew what was going on to begin with, he would of left long before the Prince could explain everything, and dragging him into all of the mess, ah the power of hindsight.
Serena had been contemplating what she could do about this rather unpleasant situation. Clearly her ankle had been twisted, lucky for her it seemed that was the extent of her bodily damage. She looked all about her, frowning as she did, which did not seem to mar her strange beauty. She had to find a way out of this large crator, which had been gouged into the earth by her fall. She felt terrible about that, but there was nothing she could do about it now. Besides, it hadn't been her fault.
Her thoughts shifted to who might have thrown her from the sky. One delicate hand moved up to clasp the gem that rested around her neck. It was the only clue she had on the mystery of the rather rude person who had seen fit to bring her down to the earth. Though she was furious about it, she was also alittle frightened, something that she would not have mentioned to anyone, had there been anyone around. She was, after all, a rather proud star, even if she didn't always seem that way.
She tried once more to stand, but came to the same fate, stumbling back onto her bottom. Well, that was that, she would simply have to sit and wait.
As luck would have it, or perhaps it wasn't so much luck as fate, a creature appeared at the rim of the crator. At first, Serena thought she might be dreaming, then she realized that the creature was very real. It was a beautiful white stallion, a great deal larger than any horse she had seen before. Odd, its midsection seemed oddly shaped, as though something were added on. Just then, two great wings spread from the animals sides, and Serena beamed with delight. It was not a simple horse, but a winged horse, which no longer roamed the world freely as it once had. The creature took flight, soaring gracefully for a few seconds before it descended into the crator, landing beside the fallen star.
Serena looked up at the beautiful creature and reached out a hand precariously. The stallion dropped its head down to meet her hand, and they connected. She rubbed the animal affectionately, then moved her hand back to grip its tough mane. The winged horse lifted its head, helping her to her feet, where she leaned against it for support. The creature waited patiently for her to mount, for there was an unspoken bond between the two. The creatures of the earth held great respect for those of the heavens, as stars were believed to be. This animal knew what she was, and it felt obligated to help her as best it could. It sprouted its wings once more and took to the skies, landing back on the ground just off the rim of the crator.
They began walking through the forest, Serena not really knowing where to go. It seemed, for now, the creature would simply take her with him, wherever he chose to go, until she could decide what to do. At least she was out of that blasted hole in the ground.
??????? ???????? Current Day
Trekking throughout a forest was hard enough when you don't know exactly what you're looking for, but it is even worse when you feel a little tingling feeling up your back every step you moved. This forest he felt was quite unnatural, no wonder the kings never claimed this as their own, who could live in a place like this. There was an overwhelming sense of oddities forming about. Some had said the forest was magically inclined, and well there was fair enough reason to believe such a thing now that he was in here... but he never really believed like this could exist, nor did he fully believe in a fallen star. Of course he knew magic existed, but he relied so much on inner strength that generally he just kind of pushed all magic thoughts outside of his world of reality. Well as he kept traveling, it seemed his life was just about to take a sudden plunge into the surreal, almost quite literally.
The horse continued to charge through the forest, galloping around the trees, ah such a fine creature, he truly loved the equine species, so strong and yet so graceful. They were a proud and noble creature, and riding above on one was a great thing, of course even horses were not perfect despite their high standing, and could have their awkward embarrassing moments, and well that actually happened this time.
Out of nowhere a flying white dash appeared in the sky. It startled both of them, what was it? Did something... Did it really happen? Both he and his horse kept full focus on it, wonder what exactly it was, and moved straight towards the source looking for it. Well... they were so enraptured with the thought, that the second time they seen a white blur swoop through the air once more, they were actually oblivious to the ground beneath them and-
Flump! Kai fell half way into the crater, and had to use her hind hooves to keep her steady, she neighed loudly. Why did the land sudden-.... there they were, it was the crater! How did she miss it? It was so wide... the horse pulled herself back hesitantly, obviously jaded by the mis-sighting and mis-footing... however the white image remained fresh in both of their eyes...and off in the distance.. they could see it wandering about...and was someone on it?
There was no time to waste, if the myth was true, and what 'they' told him, then this crater could only belong to one person, and that was the fallen star. He could not believe it, nor could he believe the other creature he saw... did it too come from the heavens? There was only one way to find out, "Kai, let's go," he said as he used the rein to maneuver her around the crater, he hoped he reached the lady in time before she took off on the horse once more.
