you got your guesses right, i was aiming for the tribal-style bellydancer/gypsy look and raven shapeshifting (which is a trait of one of the characters in a story)
gaia needs more middle eastern items gonk

Question, should I keep the scorpion tail or make it the wee little crown you get with the Zodiac? Also, should I keep the turban or trade it in for the OMFG?

The skirt is okay I guess, but the pants look too modern. Hang on, maybe I can see if there are any apropriate pants in the shops.

personally, i think you should try with the crown adn the turban
if it doesnt look too good then try the OMFG adn the crown

The tail looks decent with the OMFG and the crown sits there on the turban and looks funny on the OMFG. I liked the way the turban looked by my OMFG is kind of my trademarked items since I've had it for two years. <_<

speaking about trademarketed items, i've used lex's black gloves, silver hoop earrings, the sapphire forehead jewel and a =/ expression since i can remember xD

I just mixed my avatar around. Got the new Dragon tail, a pair of horns (I know they don't match, but real animal horns tend not to, either.) and a another pair of pants.
